Melia Las Americas: Excellent Melia Hotel

Hotel was well laid out, excellent pools & beach. Things that stood out were cleanliness of hotel, food was very good for Cuba & If you golf which I do, it is a beautiful course & just a 5 minute walk to clubhouse. Very impressed with the Melia & will definitely be returning to this Resort.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Royal Service

Amazing grounds, as good as, if not better than Secrets properties visited; especially considering the equipment, supplies and Cuban logistic challenges. Food, there is always something missing, oddly: onions and garlic limited availability; but you'll never go hungry. We had beef on 4 separate occasions and it was very good. Rooms, although the older area located atop of the rock face overlooking the resort are desirable, they are dated and in need of a redo, a/c so so. Resort is clean, and w [... read more]ell maintained, beach is excellent, the resort actually has life guards that are awake and onsite. nightly entertainment is well done for those who choose to wind their night down watching and enjoying the performers. This resort is a good size and the use of provided transport is wise. Restaurants, Italian replaced by Cuban: all including the buffet were above average. Looking forward to our return.

Club Kawama: Worth the price

We paid $665 for a week at this resort - all inclusive. As many say, the food isn’t the greatest but that’s what you should expect in Cuba. They have buffets every day which had a decent selection and also had an Italian restaurant and International restaurant you can reserve seats to. They had great entertainment every single night, and it was different every night too. The beach was super close and beautiful of course and the room had no bugs. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing Resort especially Royal side

While the regular side of the resort was nice, clean, well kept and the food was good we chose to upgrade to Royal Service. We had our own Butler “Jaz” who was absolutely wonderful and very accommodating and helpful. The pool was second to none. Loved my pool view at night with the changing lights. Special romantic dinner on the beach just made our stay. The hilltop restaurant was absolutely beautiful. Our plan is to make a trip next year to the same location.

Melia Las Americas: Totally ENJOYABLE!

I was not sure of what to expect in Cuba. However I am now ready to plan a return visit to the Melia Las Americas. The staff are all so welcoming, professional and helpful. The accommodation, a bit of an 80's retro - well maintained, spotlessly clean and everything in order. Contrary to some tales of Cuba that I have heard the quality of the food at this all inclusive resort was definitely a B+ with lots of variety and several locations in which to enjoy a meal or a snack. It was a thoroughly relaxing week and I look forward to a return visit to Las Americas with great anticipation.

Melia Las Americas: Great resort

For any golf enthusiast this is the resort for you in Cuba. Melia Los Americas is an older resort a bit dated but you would never tell by the service amenities and food. The proximity and service to the golf course is second to none. Pool and beach are amazing. Had a great time.

Grand Memories Varadero: Beautiful resort

Grounds are clean, flowers everywhere, dining room organized. Food was good, variety of drinks available all the time. The resort organized for people's comfort. Every night entertainment ready after dinner.

Club Kawama: Home away from home

This hotel has the best staff of anywhere I have been. They do the best they can given the circumstances in Cuba. They go how to make your vacation experience the best it can be. Kalama has a beautiful beach and a very nice pool.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice Grounds and Pool

The hotel was nice, but needs a little TLC. Our friends toilet was coming off the wall and they secured it with a roll of toilet paper. There were no other swin up rooms available, so they(staff) fixed it as best they could. There was a very large crack in our sliding door, our coffee maker didn't work, the volume on the TV didn't work, we had hot water for the shower one day, the rest was tepid. Wouldn't recommend the saffari excursion, the jeeps shake so bad my friend had 19,000 steps on her fit bit from the steering wheel shaking. The Japanese restaurant was the best! Our chef (Amel - I think that's how it's spelled) was the best!! Our waitress at the Royal Service (Belgis) was so nice and took care of us everyday. She knew our order everyday and never got it wrong. Our bartender Marlene was so good!! she knows how to make the best drinks!! Until they fix a few things in the hotel, I wouldn't recommend this resort.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort and Fabulous Staff

We spent 7 days here in the Royal Service section. Believe me when I say that the extra upgrade is worth every Peso. The food was good considering the shortage that Cuba is experiencing right now. As a very kind intelligent lady explained to us, the Cubans are giving us the best of what they have. The service was exceptional and we made friends with many of the Staff. Roc Barlovento: Perfect location

This hotel is not new but very well kept. The location is great ,right in the heart of varadero. The bus is right outside. The buffet is always fresh and hot. The staff are excellent and will help with any of your needs. Its adult's only. Nightly shows. The pools are well kept and the beach is wonderful. We enjoyed the Mexican restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

Barcelo Solymar: Relaxing Resort

If you plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel room then..this resort is not for you. The room's are not the greatest and could use some upgrading. This resort is fun for drinking by the pool side, meeting new people, the beach and walking the strip off the resort to clubs & restaurants. Make sure to bring money to exchange for Cuban pesos for your money's worth and vacation experience. Punta Peninsula Varadero: Fantastic Time! Amazing Staff!

Review: I have been here five times in the past year and I am here now and it is wonderful. The staff here is the best of any resort I have been to and I have traveled the world. Whatever you need, they will promptly get it for you. They don’t forget you, either. Always greeted with double kisses and they do that with each other at the start of their work day which I love. If you need anything, Kenia Peña, Cesar Badir Sesin and Miguel are in management and you will get prompt and respectful service. Our drivers in the carts are so much fun as well. Even driving us over to the plaza to shop. Guyen Sanchez Randy Mesa and Carlos Tapanes are a few of them. Good job! The food is typical Cuban food. As a traveler to many resorts here, it is the same in all of them in my opinion. You can always find something to eat and the staff in the restaurants are willing to assist if you would like something off of the menu or buffet. Rolando Santana and his wife, Lisbet, are always with a smile at the pool bar as well as great staff at the lobby bar. Always a smile even when it is 100 degrees and they can’t just jump in the ocean or pool to cool down. I don’t know how any of them do it. The beach is gorgeous. If you travel for the beach, then this is a good choice for you. It is off season right now so you can always find a chair but it was the same in the winter time when I came. There are four pools and I switch around and all four are always sparkling clean. Always. I spend most of my time there and not the beach. There are quiet pools and party pools... My room is spotless. I suggest second floor for oceanfront as the main floor view is often blocked by trees. My air conditioning is blasting. If you have an issue with your room, you can change it. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need. I love my current maid. ❤️ She just taught me how to fold the towels into hearts and swans and more. Always a smile and it is SO HOT HERE RIGHT NOW! People must remember that this is Cuba and the average monthly income is only $30 pesos each! Things here sometimes, if not always, are hard to get. I always bring kids gifts, nylons, toiletries, etc. It is much appreciated here. Coming from Canada, I do not forget that we really live in a great, free country and it is a pleasure to pay it forward. Tip if you can. I have never seen the entertainment here!! I am a day person. But I hear it is good from those who have gone. One of the best things is that it is affordable here so you can come more often than other resorts or countries. Ignore the negative reviews. People always find something to complain about, yet positive reviews are rarely posted as with any business. If you come and you enjoy yourself, maybe write a post about it!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Lovely staff but repairs desperately needed

The resort grounds are very well kept. We stayed in the royal service area and I would definitely recommend that as the pool is awesome and the buffet restaurant is air conditioned. We went to the main buffet a few times and it was smoky and hot. The al la carts were hit and miss as well. We ended up upgrading our room after the first night because our air conditioning wasn’t working great, our swim out room was much better but our toilet was detaching from the wall and the clock was not w [... read more]orking. The staff was awesome and have no complaints about them at all, they make the resort. My complaints are mainly the lack of repairs and the food. Everyone in our group had stomach issues at one point through the week.

Melia Las Americas: Great Place

We really enjoyed our stay. Room was average, but the beach was fabulous. Buffet was good, always something to eat. A la carte were delicious. Staff were friendly, funny and always helpful. Golf course is beautiful, we will return next year.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing Trip!

My husband & I just returned from our trip to Sanctuary. What a fantastic time! The resort is beautiful, the food was quite good & the staff were incredible! Usually, on a trip to Cuba, we're ready to go home after about day 5. Not this time! We didn't want to leave! We will definitely be back to this resort! Maybe a 10 day trip next time, rather than 7!

Melia Marina Varadero: No to Melia Marina, Yes to Melia International!

We arrived at the Melia Marina Varadero on October 22nd in the early afternoon. On the outside this is a very pretty hotel right on the Marina with great views. However, we quickly discovered there was no running water or air conditioning in the facility. We were told that the problem was being worked on but by the evening we had to request to be transferred to another hotel as there was still no water or a/c. We were sent across to the Melia Tryp Peninsula hotel in the evening and spent our  [... read more]first night at this resort. It was a substandard hotel and not the modern facility we had paid for at the Melia Marina Level section. We contacted the Sunwing rep that evening and the next day we were transferred to the Melia International. This hotel is the newest resort in Varadero and very upscale and to the standard we expected. Once settled at the Melia International, the rest of our vacation went beautifully. Special thanks to Hector at Sunwing who helped us get our vacation back on track and our onsite rep, Orlando. Would definitely return to the Melia International! It is a beautiful hotel with great service and very good food and wine by Cuba standards.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Not a good experience!

I sent my wife and 5-year old away to spend some special time together. Aside from the beautiful beach, every day she would call home, tell me how much she loves to spend time with our son, then she would make a list of everything terrible at the resort: 1. No toilet paper for 3 days (thank goodness she brought baby wipes) 2. Food was terrible (even by Cuba standards) 3. One day a maintenance person walked into her room while she was inside. Nobody was called or asked to drop by. She pre [... read more]viously thought some of her belongings were ruffled through 4. Wi-fi at the resort was pretty limited (and expensive) Overall we have collectively decided that we will no longer travel to Cuba. It unfortunate, but it was truly that bad.

Palma Real: Worse resort in all Varadero AVOID

We arrived in Cuba at around 4:00 in the morning to discover that the whole hotel was a total scam. The pools had been emptied out, with the only one remaining having cloudy water and trash at the bottom. The rooms were infested with ants, we had 3 rooms and the AC wasn't working in 1 room, we asked for a king size bed but got two singles pressed together with the springs in the mattress making a squishing sound when we would move. The paint on the wall and cement all around the resort was [... read more] deteriorated. The breakfast buffet consisted of toasts and a rack of cold eggs. We went to the Sunwing office and explained the situation, after verifying our story, Sunwing immediately sent us to another hotel across the street, the Cuatro Palmas, covering a big part of the difference in price and offering us vouchers for the catamaran trip. Thank you to Sunwing for saving our vacation but I would recommend to anyone to avoid making a deal with TripCentral as they will scam you and send you in misrepresentative hotel. The pictures are NOT the reality. By the way Cuatro Palmas was great, would entirely recommend.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Great stay

It was a gorgeous resort. Very large. Entertainment team was amazing. Lots going on. Quiet pool was relaxing, activity pool was busy.
