Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great Resort amazing people

Beautiful resort, good size not very big. Rooms are also great. The restaurants were amazing no issues getting in for dinner. But the people really makes this resort stand out. The entertainment Pedro and Luis, pool parties waitresses Rosa and the amazing Yuritza at the lobby bar all took very good care of us!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great time at Bouganville

This was an interesting trip and one I won’t forget too soon. First we arrived on Nov 18th we sat down for dinner and the skies opened up. Was the most rain the DR had ever received in one day. Sunday morning the shoreline was covered in debris at first they said it would be 1-2 weeks to clean up well the resort did it in 4 days! They really were amazing and everyone appreciated how hard they worked to get the beach fixed. Now for the resort itself: Grounds: beautiful they really look after i [... read more]t and I could not find one area that wasn’t kept up. Beach: Can only review based on not being able to go in the water, the area that was open was the part with many loungers and palapa’s. We never had to hunt for one there are many and lots of shade or sun whichever you want. Room: yes they are a little dated I have been in better but our housekeeper kept it clean and tidy all week. I slept well and never had to ask for anything. Mini fridge was filled with what we wanted and we had ample clean towels. Nice sitting area (we were in standard poolside) bathroom is a good size. Food: We ate at the buffet more often then we normally would, while I found it smaller then others this meant that everything was fresh and there was never an empty serving dish for more then a couple of minutes. I found the buffet food to be very good, nice variety and good tasting. Omelette station is perfect, only issue was the beach buffet the lines could be long especially around 1pm. We went to La Pascadore - solid 5 out of 5 great service interesting food Don Pablo 4 out of 5 food is excellent service is good but slow and I didn’t like the high pressure tactic to buy a $70 bottle of wine. Takara: 4.5 out of 5 Food is amazing make sure you are hungry service is very good. Los Corales Rodizio: 3 out of 5 terrible service, food was ok except for the meat it was the only good point, will skip this one next time. Pools: Quiet pool is just that but if you don’t get a lounger by 9am you won’t get one till later on. Loved the swim up bar great bartender one of our favourite spots. The main pool is busier but you could still get loungers around 10am, bar is ok but not the best. Jacuzzi pool is interesting but we only went in once, the bar there is excellent. We did not like the beach bar, could not make a drink very slow and not friendly. The water in the pools is a very nice temperature all the time and they are big enough you always have space. People: this is what makes this resort honestly some of the nicest people I have ever meant, check in and out was so easy and you feel like family from the minute you get there. Lounge bar is great and there are servers all over. However the best is the Entertainment group, they work so hard and they made the vacation for us. Always smiling and saying Hi they try to involve anyone who wants to be and are constantly on the go. We really enjoyed the water aerobics and the nightly shows. The app: this worked really well for us, room service was punctual and anything we needed we could do through it and our butler kept an eye on us. Made check in and check out very easy as well as reservations and schedules. We will be returning as well as trying some other Bahia properties, thank you Trip Central and Victoria for helping us find somewhere we will be happy going back to.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Meh

CONS : Mediocre food, minimal entertainment, very dated rooms, pushy timeshare people, crummy a la carte restaurants. PRO: nicely manicured grounds, nice beach, the passing cruise ships are fun to watch

Temptation Miches Resort 21 Plus: Okay resort

Needed more shows at night. Not everyone likes club entertainment. Different entertainment at night. Too much pool shows beach need more activities also. The resort overall is okay it don’t seem as it looks

Playabachata Hotel: Group Vacation

I did not select this resort for my vacation , it was selected by a friend of a friend , and we were all to meet at the resort. The group had a fantastic time. the grounds of the resort are well maintained and I can only speak of the room we were finally given as there was an initial hiccup as we had requested a Superior room with 2 beds ( of course we were given a Superior room , with 1 bed ) adjusted the next day . had a great view of the beach. food while not spectacular was edible and plenti [... read more]ful, if you went hungry , it was your choice . the staff was great , and tried to accommodate whenever possible. the grounds did seem to be showing there age as some wear and tear on the pool and loungers . Quality of the loungers was impressive . overall we went to spend time with our friends , old and new !!

Paradisus Grand Cana: Amazing vacation at Falcons!

This is a fantastic family resort! We upgrades to the beyond experience and don’t regret it. The hotel is modern and well maintained and food was delicious. One thing to note is that evening entertainment is not the most fan but the do some activities. However, there are lots of activities for kids and adults during the day. The beach is a short ride away and the provide service every 5 min or so!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Very Bad Resort

Staff doesn't speak English......don't visit if you can only speak English and doesn't know Spanish since all activities are in Spanish. They don't know how to cook chicken, Beds and rooms were smelling bad. All restaurants aren't open everyday and make sure to do reservations if you want to eat at Fine dining restaurant. Overall bad experience at the resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Excellent resort

We stayed at the resort from 11/15/23 to 11/22/23, We travel as a family for birthday of our sister. We absolutely loved this resort. The service was excellent, all the staff we dealt with were amazing and accommodating. We ate at number of a la carte restaurants, Italian Portofino, Maiko Japanese, ElOlivo Mediterranean. Entertainment team was excellent, they do their hardest to always make us feel special. Different entertainment every night, enjoyed it very much. Resort very well maintain, grounds kept meticulous. Rooms specious and very well kept by the cleaning staff, fridge always well stocked. Overall we loved the resort & would recommend any time.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Resort under major reconstruction .

Terrible . After we paid for this 12 day holiday , we were advised that there would be minor construction happening . It was major construction , and anyone going to the beach pool area or beach would have been affected as trucks , cement trucks , drill gamers ,all day long .

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Great resort

The hotel was great, the food could've been better. The service was great, the entertainment and drinks were wonderful. The worst wouldve been the internet or the fact of paying for it and not being able to use in the rooms.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: It was ok

Well there are a few things we are not happy with. The showers were terrible. First week were there. We didn’t have hot water it was lukewarm .the shower would shut off all the time wasn’t enough water. Sometimes it would just drip the water out . On the weekends, they would let the locals come and stay for a discount rate. We were never informed of this when we book this resort or I wouldn’t have not booked it.. we had VIP, which is kind of a joke, because with that when the locals come  [... read more]in, you can’t get a seat at the pool, you can’t get a seat in the Buffay kids running all over I was understanding with VIP we would have are own pool and things would be a bit different than the way they were. They would come in at nite being very loud . Fighting in the hallways, and not respecting the other people that were in the hotel.Well we really enjoyed the staff they were awesome. Food was great. I just wish we were informed about the locals coming in at the VIP was set up different.

Whala Bavaro: Don't waste your money!

One of the worst resorts in DR. Poor food, horrible weak coffee, loud only Spanish music playing everywhere and most staff don't understand English. Pay a little more and stay at a name brand, newer hotel!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Amazing pool!

This resort is just as we expected. The grounds were beautiful, the pool allowed for privacy and socializing. The buffect had a good selection and we enjoyed the hibachi at The Jade restaurant. Our goal was simply r and r. This was a great place to do just that. The rooms were clean but dated however the grounds and pool were gorgeous and that's where we spent our time.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Nice resort

Grounds were nice and well kept disappointed with the workers hardly any spoke English when we tried to have a conversation they would look at us no reply in the dining area some acted like we were bothering them not sure if we would recommend because of the language barrier not the best beach

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Affordable

This resort is affordable but the bathrooms require access to people with mobility difficulties, such as replacing tubs with stand up showers, water pressure poor in the showers. Food was tasty but selection was repetitive at times especially for breakfast. The restaurant at the beach was good food but the pizza was limited and when asked if they were making more, the answer was NO but we ended seeing a whole pizza walk away to bring to a customer in the resort, variety of pizza lacks, more pe [... read more]pperoni pizza required, corn not a big hit with tourists, more for locals.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: A few concerns

The site was wonderful, as well as the pools and the beach, but we had to move to another room where the surroundings were quiet. Parties going on up to 3 o'clock and later at night. Safe not working properly. Fridge insufficiently restocked. Toilet blocked. Shower leaking around the toilet area. Telephone not functioning in the building. The personnel was great.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Some great...some bad

Here's the great. The resort is immaculately clean, beautiful and the rooms are spacious and very nice. Staff were super friendly and hard working, although I did encounter key staff members who spoke no english (lifeguard). The food was what's to be expected from a buffet but overall it was good albeit repetitive in their offerings. Restaurants to book in were very good with great service. Size of resort was great. Not too big...not too small. The beach with the palm trees was outstand [... read more]ing. To swim at the beach there was a step down on entry and exit which made getting in and out difficult. I had to have my husband help me out every time. Not ideal for seniors. Water not clear (which I knew prior to arrival) however there is something to be said about heading to the tropics and experiencing the crystal blue waters. My first two days there we had no hot water for showers. When it finally started working the temp was warm at best. It is far from the airport which after a day of travel isn't the best.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Fun Times

Overall resort is nice. Check in smooth-Colonial Club Room is dated and shows it's wear-garden view colonial club w king bed, stocked fridge w what we wanted! Butler service is available if you have What's App, which we did not, so we were unable to use him. Other guests did use the butler service and said amazing things about them. So if you like that extra service, it's there for you. Hotel felt like a small/medium size-easy access to all things, including beach. Pool was different to wh [... read more]at we were used to but great. Lots of space, never felt crowded and there is a swim up bar. Club section(adults) has 2 swim up pool bars, 1 quiet and the other loud. They again are not your typical large circular pools but still did the job. Tons of Bali beds which was a nice bonus and bathrooms right there. Great selection of drink including non and alcoholic beverages. Make sure to try the Majestic or the Passion Fruit Mojito along w mini beers Restaurants-main buffet is ok, the beach buffet was our preferred lunch spot. Le Gourmet is reservation ONLY and was impossible to get in, very frustrating. Japanese is not typically our thing either, and again, would not do again, salty mediocre food at best. Mexican/Dominican restaurant was our favorite and portions are insanely LARGE. Due to our short trip, we were unable to go to the Seafood and Steak house, which we heard was good. Variety overall for food was ok, we did not starve and there was plenty. Colonial Club has room service, which we did order from and the pizza is awesome but at least an hour wait. SOMETHING to do nightly. They have good entertainment including karaoke (our fav) shows, live music, dancers, entertainment staff to dance w you, movie nights for kids, beach party, foam party...lots of fun things. Tipping seems to be a big thing there, which can get annoying but it's to your discretion. Overall-we had a great time and would go back(we do not repeat hotels)something for everyone and met some amazing people and staff!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Beautiful resort

Restaurants are really good. The resort is very clean and staff really friendly. The VIP is not worth paying extra. Rooms are really big. Lots of lounge chairs available all day. Shopping on site. Far from city for walking around.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Clean place, but not a smooth experience

Overall hotel was really clean, no bugs, staff was quick to address issues, however we did not get as much rest as desired: Safe was not working well, water coming out of the shower flooding bathroom, party until past midnight with loud music, no wifi in new room once we switched, coffee maker in initial one was broken. Lastly, beach water was brown from sand, not clear and blue. Enjoyed the warm weather and vacation regarless, but not as great as I was hoping it to be.
