Occidental Caribe: Great place!

The Barcelo Premium provided my boyfriend and I with a great experience during our stay in DR. Beautiful beach/pool area, amazing a la carte restaurants, and friendly staff ! I would return to this resort

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Need to speak spanish

The beach/ocean was really nice but the employees were not very nice to you if you did not speak spanish. I went last year to a different resort and i had a much better time! Even the guests all spoke spanish so it was really hard to talk to people. They also clean your rooms super super late in the day.ex: you spend all day at the beach/pool come back to your room and they haven't or they're cleaning it at 5 pm. It was really frustrating happened all week.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Staff needs to improve on customer care

The resort was beautiful and being in club premium is definitely the way to go. The selection of food was excellent. As for the service and friendliness ... that is something to be desired. I found staff at this resort were rather rude and really didn't seem like they wanted to help you. The staff at the "Italian" ala carte were down right horrible and beyond rude. We sat and waited and waited .. people even got up and left due to the poor service.

Occidental Caribe: Amazing Resort!!

Everything is great about this resort! That staff was excellent. Pools and beach were perfect and didn't have to walk long to get anywhere. Entertainment was not as good as it has been in the past years at this resort but overall I love the resort!

Barcelo Solymar: Barcelo party!

Stayed in the villas, maids were very nice kept out rooms clean and stocked up with beer and essentials. The A la carte restaurants are your best bet, we personally didn't enjoy the buffet food it all tastes the same :S Not a whole lot of entertainment during the day, but the disco was pretty busy at night. Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great place to relax

Very quiet section to relax, if you want more action ... Just need to walk to the Bavaro Deluxe. Only comment limited access to catamaran and food are not always clearly identified could be a concerns if you have some allergies or food intolerances such gluten. But the is a rich varieties of food and drinks to satisfied everyone

Barcelo Maya Palace: Wonderful vacation

Facilities were great, service was excellent, food was terrific. Beach is crystal clear and view of the fish was remarkable. Plenty of things to do while on site. Shopping exercise rooms etc. Would return again for sure.

Occidental Caribe: Great Resort!

Beach was stunning. Food was great especially the a la cartes. Tons of entertainment and staff was awesome. Shows were great at night - more so when they involve the crowd. Drinks are good and tons of alcohol in them. Big resort but definitely fun.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: very nice resort

Hotel was great. Rooms are great. Resort credits are a sham. And is only really a coupon book with discounts. Special restraunts were ok. The golf coarse was great. It was free with the package.But you had to pay 65 us each for cart rental. Mandatory. Clubhouse best food of the whole resort.

Barcelo Solymar: one of the best yet!!!

the check in was easy, we were late arrivals, given a room in the dark, and off to the town to calle 62 for the evening. the next morning, we were put on a list for an upgrade room , and received it by 200pm that day. the buffet was ample for us, as no need for a la carte. there was plenty of variety and we were spoiled by everyone. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Five Star all the Way

A beautiful resort with awesome pools, kids waterpark and amazing beach. The food was A1 with lots and lots of variety at every meal. The beach buffet and bars were close to the pools and beach and a delight to eat and drink at. The theatre and entertainment was a highlight. The grounds are mature growth and very well kept and the walkways made it so very easy to get around. Everything seemed so close to get to. The maids were wonderful and couldn't do enough for you. Really appreciated the in-r [... read more]oom coffee maker and well stocked fridge. It was truly a dream vacation for hubby and I and we would love to make a return visit.

Occidental Caribe: Disappointing

Pool area and beach was amazing. Resort was pretty close to the airport. Disco was very fun. Rooms were not very nice. Food was not very good. Most staff were not overly friendly. Entertainment was poor

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

We had a wonderful experience at the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort. The rooms were clean and very comfortable and the resort was well organized and beautiful. The weather was perfect and the we were not bothered by anyone selling us junk on the beach. The food was excellent and we were cared for by happy and attentive servers at the buffet restaurants. Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Great stay!

Very nice hotel, pools and beach were very nice, and staff was very friendly and accommodating. The maya and Caribe side were more modern décor, while the tropicale and colonial were the more traditional Mexican décor, it was nice to have access to all 4. The a la cartes were fantastic! would stay here again, huge resort with lots to do We did have our bag stolen at the pool, but can't blame that on the resort!

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Very nice resort!

Grounds were lovely, beach was gorgeous, staff friendly, everything always nice and clean but...room was damp with the humidity, air conditioning quality might have been better and we had trouble with our phone even though it was replaced twice. I would definitely recommend this resort!

Occidental Caribe: Our stay at the Barcelo Punta Cana february 2015

We had no hot water in our room for 4-5 day's. The bus that took us to Nicole's we had to book our seats, when we were to come back the bus was smaller which left 4 of our members left behind as I had to wait over 1 hour for my husband to come back to the resort with our room key. when I bought the internet they asked me which 3 day's I would like as I did purchase the 3 day package I said mon/wed/and Sat as I came to use my Saturday it did not let me connect as I went to see about it, the atten [... read more]dant told me it was 3 consecutive day's so I had to repurchase another day for 12$ as the 3 day's was 27$ went to pay at the lobby they told me it was 13$ so added another dollar. We were 12 people in our group and only 1 of us did not get sick the rest of us all got sick while we were there.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: No Real Complaints

We stayed in the Jr Suites in block 6 and for,the extra cost it was worth it. The room was a bit dated and could you some upkeep ,ie. Shower rusty and couch looks old. The bed was comfy and room kept clean. The grounds were well cared for. The beach was nice and they tried to keep up with the seaweed that would float in. The resort was busy when we where there so had to make sure to reserve some beach chairs. The buffet was ok and we had no stomach troubles, although made sure to use the bottled [... read more] water in our room for brushing our teeth as well. Security watches the beach and keeps an eye out on the rooms. We had stopped by our room to pick up something and the door didn't shut completely within a few minutes there was a knock and the security guard was checking to make sure all was okay. All in all had a good time and no issues.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: GREAT RESORT WELL SETUP

It was a last minute decision to visit this resort. Grounds, pools, food, beach, staff, public places all awesome.for us, the rooms were dated but if you spend much time in them, you are not on vacation. sunshine :) Tks;Tripcentral

Barcelo Solymar: VERY POOR

This resort was horrible, the bathrooms disgusting to accompany no hot water and no water pressure. They didn't have the common sense to clean their beach at night and their beach chairs are dirty, worn and torn. The buffet is one of the poorest I have ever endured in Cuba

Occidental Caribe: It was an ok resort

Well it sure had its ups and downs. The downs being the water was hardly working in our room so we couldn't flush the toilet or shower, and I found some of the employees really not friendly. Also I didn't find that the entertainment staff tried to get people involved as much as they could have. The beach was lovely and the pool was nice.
