Grand Memories Varadero: Would definitely go back!

The grounds are very well kept. Hotel could use some updating in the rooms. They need more lounge chairs around the party pool, but everything is great! There were lots of food options and a variety so you won’t starve. Entertainment team needs work and there should be music at the party pool to eliminate people playing speakers around the pool with varying music. Staff are amazing and kind. They go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good times and people.

Was a fun time. missing items like eggs and meat. It’s an island. Cockroach in room. The atmosphere was nice. The staff were amazing. The pool with the bar was closed due to fixing it. Overall not bad

Grand Memories Holguin: Still Under Reno

I visited on December 20, 2023. Only 1 buffet was open, there were only about 3-4 bars open, and no BBQ/Grill. The only food options at the snack bar were cheese sandwich, hot dog, and tune sandwich. Would like more food variety if the buffet is unavailable.

Melia Cayo Coco: Great Service

Hotel still spotless Only change since last year is food issues. Food variety has diminished. Staff say it's an issue all over Cuba It's a supply problem. Al a carte restaurants down from 3 to one. Delicious but less variety.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: OK Resort

The Resort was beautiful, the beach was beautiful, unfortunately the sand fleas were quite bad. The food was ok but the shortage of food in Cuba was apparent. All the other Hotels were also in the same boat. No eggs, orange juice, pop or beer on tap a lot of the time. There was a mix up with our room in the first couple of days, But they moved us without hesitation and followed up to ensure we were satisfied. For the most part overall was a good place to go at a reasonable price.

Roc Barlovento: Very comfortable resort

We have been to this resort for over 12 years. Unfortunately Cuba is suffering because of CoVid then the Russian war which they were getting a lot of their supplies. They do not get their supply of beach towels so one may go 4 or more days without. We brought our own in case. Towels in the suites do not get changed everyday. And the all inclusive you pay for is lacking sometimes no wine for 4 to 5 days. No butter in the buffet, no fish, no fruit except papaya and pineapple. I purchase bananas fr [... read more]om Matanzas. The beaches and the ocean is still worth it, most beautiful beaches of anywhere else that I’ve been to.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Shocked

We stayed two weeks. Hotel, rooms, beach, service are great by Cuban standards. Food - is beyond terrible and I mean it. Vegetables selection - cucumbers and cabbage (not even fresh), that is it. Same food selection is served every day. And the selection is at its worst. Prison food. Flies are everywhere in the restaurant. Entertainment is minimal. Hotel Playa Paraiso: Excellent Resort!!

I recently spent two weeks at Hotel Playa Paraiso, from December 7 > December 21. I was highly impressed by the resort. The room I was in, was spacious, clean and bright. There was ample water pressure and hot water, and the AC unit worked well, when required. There were two single beds in the room, which were firm and comfortable. The maid [Yaima] did [... read more] an excellent job cleaning the room on a daily basis. The grounds were well kept, and the large swimming pool was immaculate. Plenty of chairs were available at the pool. The beach was deep and sandy, with plenty of chairs available. The water depth increased very gradually, so it was exceedingly safe. You could walk a considerable distance in either direction. Nightly entertainment was quite good, with a considerable variety of entertainment. The music on the beach, around the pool, and in the lobby, was too loud for my liking, but that seems 'par for the course' in Cuba. The buffet dining room was large and clean, but there were flies constantly on the tables. Such could be easily rectified with a dozen fly swatters or so, and some effort!! I did not eat at the a la carte restaurants, but did hear that the meals there were so-so. The food in the buffet restaurant was quite good for Cuba, especially given the recent food shortages in the country. I was impressed with the constant variety of fresh fruits [papaya, white grapefruit, bananas, pineapple, orange slices, clementines] at all meals, along with the rich, creamy white cheese. Normally there was only white bread and buns available, but half the time there were some dark buns with more texture [I'm not sure if they were whole wheat]. Butter was in abundance. Several cereal choices were available every morning, but the milk and yogurt appeared to be made from powdered milk. The freshly grilled fish at lunch and supper was excellent, although it was Tilapia and Basa, which are not recommended nutrition-wise. No shrimp or calamari. It should be noted that there were no eggs available, the last two days that I was there. I might also add that I heard "horror stories" about two other nearby resorts, where there were serious food and water shortages. In fact, several guests from those resorts were transferred to Hotel Playa Paraiso. I have been to Cayo Coco over 12 times. In truth, this was the best resort that I have been to, in Cayo Coco. Melia Jardines del Rey: Melia Jardines, Cayo Coco.

The beach, the beach bar staff , the pool and pool bar staff were great as usual. No hot water for the entire trip. No white wine, no cola short some other things. Its been a year now like this. Especially frustrating when a utuber aquaintance at a neighboring resort says they had everything. I'm going to start looking for other options. as well, they assured me the pool wi fi was fixed and running whereas actually it had been removed.

Playa Costa Verde: Very poor food quality and variety

Went in December 2023 with kids and vegan friends. The food was not good, poor quality, all too salty. Meet and fish are available, but absolutely no vegetables, only cucumbers, no EGGS entire two weeks of staying. Breakfast only pancakes and fried bread. Staying with kids was difficult, no food for babies. The beach quality 3 out of 5, lots of stones in the water, but water color is amazing...nowhere I saw such a beautiful sea. Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Attention to Traveller

Overall I had a good time but that’s because of the people I met. Beach was nice very clear water. The biggest problem was the food. Lack of options and the same stuff almost everyday. I had no eggs for the entire week. There’s no soda at all. Only drinks were water,mango juice, guava juice, and beer and whatever cocktails. Service is very slow, when I needed something it would take few phone calls to get someone to come or no one would come. Unfortunate because it’s a nice looking resort. Gran Muthu Imperial: Beware

This resort had no water for 4 days out of the week They had no drink mixes there was no fruit or vegetable. If you can eat fish all week you would be ok. The beach was all rock if you go bring water shoes had to take cab to another beach.

Sol Caribe Beach: Disappointing

The Sol Caribe is clean and well maintained. The staff is polite and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. However, the food was disappointing. No variety - the same pork and fish every day. The food was cold. No cheese, no chicken, no Fanta, no french fries at the snack bar. Even the bars did not offer the same drinks. Not on our list to return.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Très bel hotel

Hôtel récent, propre, avec de nombreuses piscines spacieuses et des spectacles divertissants. La nourriture par contre reste de qualité médiocre, malgré que ce soit un 5 étoiles c’est Cuba donc peu varié et très redondant.

Grand Memories Varadero: Worst Vacation!

We did not receive what we asked/paid for. No hot water for 3 days. Food is the same everyday. awful!! Would NEVER RETURN here again!!!! Service is awful! Always lies!! The resort should be torn down.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Not a 5 star resort…

We chose this resort for the location as we wanted to do some fishing. Resort itself is fairly new and clean. Not much in the area to do outside of the resort if you are looking for an excursion. They had almost no alcohol (beer and sometimes wine), so we bought our own at a local store. This wasn’t a big deal as we weren’t really there for the drinks anyways. Food was as we expected, pretty much the same items on the buffet each day. Eggs one day but other than that, mostly meat, bread and [... read more] cheese. For what they did have, it was decently cooked. We had no hot water the first four days that we were there. Each day that we complained we were given a different excuse (runs on solar, it’s the breaker, etc.). It didn’t seem like anyone cared to fix the issue. Then one night we had an accident and got the sheets dirty (lady problems). We returned to our room to find that we were locked out. Upon going to the front desk we were told that we had to pay $20 for “special laundry services.” We spoke with guest services and told them we would pay on check out. The next day we were out and once again returned to our room to find that we were locked out. Went to the lobby and was again told to pay the bill. We found this extremely frustrating as no one cared to fix our hot water but yet they demanded payment for a sheet immediately. We didn’t care about the money but was the principal of the fact that they went so far as to lock us out for payment when we didn’t have basic amenities. It took us about 3 hours to have this issue resolved and it was only resolved once other guests also chimed in that that also didn’t have hot water. We also saw another couple get charged for a dirty bath mat which seemed a bit ridiculous. The managers at the resort are useless and seem to have zero authority to make any decisions at all. Overall the guest services staff and Jorge in the lobby were excellent and extremely friendly and helpful. The resort was also about 99% full of Russian tourists who the majority of were quite rude and cut in line at the buffet and would steal booze from the bar staff. The Cuban staff seemed to be very frustrated with them as well. I would say that this resort it’s definitely not a 5 star, probably more like a 2. If you come here it’s not for the amenities, it’s for the beach and location.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Excellent vacation

This week just came back from 7 days in this resort. Everything was just excellent! From the very beginning: very skillful bus driver, then great experience and followup help of check-in and welcoming, very high quality service and fantastically pleasant stay! In given circumstances Cubans and this resort do everything possible and even more than that. On the last UN general assembly only two countries voted against and one abstained on resolution condemning the illegal economic and trade embargo against Cuba imposed by the US in 1960. A total of 187 States voted for the resolution put forward each year against the embargo. UN General Assembly calls for US to end Cuba embargo. The food and drinks are of absolutely highest quality given the initial resources and the circumstances. So, it is great, healthy and very tasty, refreshing and energizing, well made with love and care. (Those whining about food etc. should go to Turks and Caicos all-inclusives or Florida ones and see what they will get there and for what price, let’s be honest :) ) Great and many thanks to all the people of this place and resort!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Property

We were very happy with the resort. The best thing about the resort is the staff,very friendly and willing to assist the guests. We have stayed at other resorts in Cuba and Mexico which we enjoyed but your staff surpasses all others.

Playa Costa Verde: Cheap and cheerful

This is the third time I have been to this resort but things in Cuba have changed . Food quantity is short on buffet Eggs were only available 3 mornings out of 7 . Chicken was almost non existent and green salads like leaf lettuce romaine. No Bananas at all . Bar had no Pina coladas or other . Rum punch was usually the only other go to besides beer. The resort itself was in great need of maintenance, lighting ,grass maintenance. Cuba needs a lot of help with the fuel shortage.

Iberostar Coral Ensenachos: Nice beaches

I was at this resort in February. The decline by December in quality was shocking. The food in the restaurant was inedible. Serious issues with supply of basic foods. Eggs were unavailable for 5 of 6 days. Breakfast was toast and bacon. We were supposed to have three of the specialty restaurants. We were unable to make reservations at any of the restaurants. Although we did get an 8:30 reservation at the Japanese restaurant. The food was so salty and overcooked that it was inedible.
