Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Really nice resort!

First time in Playa Del Carmen, and first time at Wyndham Alltra. Resort is a boutique hotel with really nice amenities. Only 3 specialty restaurants, but can have dinner every night at these restaurants. Most resorts only let you book 3 nights with specialty restaurants. Pool is really nice, but have to wake up early to get sun beds. Beach is rocky. Beach at the north end of resort is nicer, but still rocky. Walked a few steps to Hilton next door or Grand Hyatt for sandy Beach an [... read more]d free of Seaweed. Night entertainment is average. All employees are friendly and willing to help. Beach towels were not available one afternoon.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent resort!

We enjoyed our stay at Bahia Principe Grand Coba. We had a lovely, large room and the cleaning service was very prompt. The grounds and pools were large and well maintained. The buffet was really good. The snack bar was open until 6 am which was great. The raccoons that frequented the snack bar were pretty bold but cleared off after being squirted by the waiters!! The Coatis were curious but mostly ignored us. The beach was clean and sandy, but not very big and pretty crowded. Walking into th [... read more]e water wasn't the best experience and there were a lot of sharp rocks. So sand shoes are a must. The staff was very friendly and polite and the night shows were entertaining. The drinks were really great too. We'll definitely go back. Thank you to all the staff.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Mediocre resort

Service and friendliness of staff was excellent. Some food choices were excellent, others were mediocre or very poor. Buffet in particular was poor quality. Some dishes were made differently with different ingredients each time we ordered them, no consistency. Menu, restaraunt open/close times were not accurate. Random closings, missing items etc. Limited options and long waiting times, no matter what time you went for dinner, early or late. No hot water for three days. Each day I was tol [... read more]d it would be fixed within 1-2 hours, but never happened. No compensation or anything was offered. The patio door was also faulty and would not shut properly. Jacuzzi was never working properly. No jets, not hot or cold, just room temperature water, not as advertised. Best day of the trip was when we went off the property. Would not stay here again.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Amazing Amenities and grounds, not so great a beach, Food was okay!

The Resort is a solid 4 start nothing more because of food and beach. There is no more beach left. If you are a beach person, this is not the place for you. It's rocky, lots of seaweed and you will not be able to swim in it without getting hurt or cut on the rocks as the waves come crashing against you and rock you nice. I am a beach person and I found myself sitting at the pools which I never do, so that was a big let down for me. Where the resort shines is in its Amenities that it off [... read more]ers, a lush Jungle of green trees and bush with filled with a variety of wildlife that will keep you entertained especially the kids. From monkeys to Iguanas, to strange looking birds and an animal that resembles a undersized racoon that are a delight to watch. The birds that came to our balcony every morning were incredible. Waking up to that every morning was pure delight especially for my daughter as she loves birds. This place is like living in a Jungle the entire time you are there. It was a different and incredible experience in that respect. Eco Resort also has a natural fresh water Cen?te that you can swim in and snorkle to see all the wonderful fish and other animals living in there. It was really beautiful. Be careful here as this area is filled with mosquitoes that have a different bite than the ones found here in Canada. These ones here, it feels like your skin is on fire with one unbearable itch. The good thing about these bites it they don't last long, after about 1 hour the bite is almost not existent and gone, no more burning pain, or itch. The Rooms are very nice and look very modern. These are the family Superior rooms. The only thing is that our room 5013 is located quite a distance from the central part of the resort where the main buffet is and the restaurants. It was quite a walk especially if you had forgot something in your room. From our room to the main Buffet La Laguna was 8-10 min walk to the beach it was 15min walk. Now for the Food: La Laguna is the main Buffet for this resort. In all honesty, for the size of the resort and the amount of people that were there, this resort needs a 2nd Buffet. There times where there were lines to get in and sometimes waiting up to 15 mins or more. The Food here was a hit or miss. Some days the food was good and some days, it wasn't. I'm not a very picky eater but I found the Breakfast a bit tiring, no bacon, no sausage, just meats and chicken that were more geared towards what you would have during dinner. If you wanted to have fresh eggs made to order, Good Luck! get in line and wait 20-30mins as there is only 1 person making eggs, big disappointment. I only eat eggs at breakfast and sometimes there wasn't any eggs on the menu and I had to line up for 20 mins to get some. There should be at least people at this station making eggs. The worker making them was miserable and tired. Big let down for breakfast. Lunch and Dinner I found very good and I had no issues there. The Deserts they offered were fabulous, very tasty and lots of variety. We went to some of the restaurants during our stay El Templo is amazing, Japanese Teppanyaki. The chefs there are incredible and the food was super tasty! Los Lirios was another restaurant which was good and food was generally really good here. Breakfast and lunch at Lirios was only for Royal Elite Members so you couldn't come here unless you were a member. Caracol Eco Resort is actually a very nice resort, the grounds are breathtaking the activities that are offered on the resort are so vast that you don't actually need to leave the resort and everyday you can keep busy with lots of activities that will keep even kids entertained. We went for 9 days Jan. 13th to Jan. 22nd. The resort was extremely busy with lots of people more than I am accustomed to. Please keep in mind that this is a huge, huge Resort! it's big and vast and if you look up the map on Google you will see what I'm talking about. The Service at this resort is actually pretty good. No complaints here. There was also room service for food as well and we used that twice we were there so if you arriving into the resort really early or very late, just use room service for the food and it will be delivered straight to your room within 15 mins if the buffet is closed. Overall, this was a very relaxing 9 days at Sandos Caracol Eco Resort and I could see myself coming here again for my daughter as she loved it, but I think my next trip will be Sandos Playacar in Playa Del Carmen next year. The beach there is stunning from the other reviews that I have been reading on Google and some of the photos I have seen back that up.

Hard Rock Hotel Cancun: Great place to be

The property was immaculate and staff very friendly and helpful. We did find our checkout was not as good as the rest of our time. Out of our room at noon then at 3 pm stripped of our use of previous complimentary items such as food and drink or even to sit by pool! Our transport time was 5:40 so we had to spend a couple of hours in the lobby. This was not a nice ending to what had been a very enjoyable trip. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: The old lady has changed.

It has been 10 years since we last stayed at the Royal Decameron. Much has changed but not for the better. The staff has remained extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful and we truely appreciated them. But the food and the maintenence has gone down a lot . The communication on booking the alacartes was frustrating . The buildings need a lot of upgrading and it would be a great help if the wi-fi would extend further then the loddy area.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Great resort!

The hotel was very accommodating and had a lovely view. We had a problem mid week with our room and they found us a new room and gave us some extras for our trouble. The view from the hotel is amazing. The food was above average for resort food but still not the best. Our kids aged 5 and 7 loved the kids club and water park next door at the Santa Fe (don’t book the Santa Fe with kids as it’s a party resort).

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Good peaceful location, great value

Hotel and facilities are fine and practical. Taxi stand, public transportation access, near a mall, short walk to beach, has beach facilities and a nice pool. Service was excellent, food was good, ambience was relaxed and quiet, parking for rental was easy and free. Rooms were a bit dated but all functioned well. For the price and star rating, the value was great.

Decameron La Marina: It’s a 2-2.5 star resort but still nice

For new resort, it’s only 3-4 years old, it is very run down. The towels are cheap and falling apart, the furniture is peeling, lots of rust everywhere. They had a row of 8-10 bikes, only 1 was in working condition. Your room key is on a cord to wear around your neck. That being said it is on the ocean and it’s kept very clean. Staff is wonderful, not the Sunwing rep, she was impossible to find and not helpful. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms have black out curtains, which [... read more] were great except when you wanted light but didn’t want your neighbours across the pool to see you. They need some shear curtains. Beds were comfortable and because we had 2 beds we had lots of extra pillows. TV worked great with a few English channels. No dressers for clothes, there’s a spot for a fridge but it is empty. So a big empty hole with a door instead of a fridge or drawers. No storage in the bathroom except for a rack over the toilet. Good pressure in the shower and lots of hot water. Food was ok. Breakfast was probably the best. Especially the fresh cooked eggs and omelets. The scrambled eggs were chewy and flavourless. The pancakes and French toast was prepared ahead of time and not great. The oriental night was the best. Lots of flavours and the meat was very tender. Mexican night was also very good. The pasta was terrible, like it had been boiled for a few hours and the sauce was tomato soup. You could always find something to eat, lots of fresh fruit and the salads were nice. The alcohol is nonexistent. I don’t know if they water it down or just buy really bad stuff but you cannot get drunk here! Even drinking beer all day long you won’t get the tiniest bit drunk! A friend doesn’t drink more than one drink in the evening and she didn’t get drunk doing tequila shots. Not much going on in the evenings, you need to go off resort to find entertainment at night. Guayabitos has a beautiful long beach with a nice entry. Vendors are plentiful but not abrasive. The town is lovely. Lots of great restaurants and street food. Venture out, it’s worth it. If you can get a good price and love a good beach you’ll enjoy the La Marina.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Love the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres

We absolutely loved this hotel, our 1st time at a Riu & we will ? return! The staff was extremely helpful & friendly, the hotel was very clean & inside and out. The food in the buffet was plentiful & the choices at the A la carte were great. Having 5 pools to choose from was a bonus.

Riu Dunamar: Average

Overall the hotel was okay , the beach and grounds and rooms were amazing. I found the food at the La carte were not good at all. The buffet was okay, I found it very bland. I am very disappointed with the Sunwing Reps Joshua and Jose. We had an issue with excursion and they made promises and never followed through, we won’t book with Sunwing anymore. I also believe they should have bilingual employees at resort, no one understood what was being said. I would rate this more of a 3 star resort.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Fantastic time ¡

This was a wonderful week. The resort was clean, modern and beautiful. The associates were outgoing and helpful. The food was never boring. The buffet was changed daily with an abundance of fresh produce. We pretty much camped out beside the pool from dawn to dusk daily and never had a problem finding lounge chairs and towels. We are already planning to return!

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Good Resort

The resort was good, staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Enjoyed most meals, however, do not recommend the New York Steak in any of the restaurants. Entertainment was good. Area was safe and had good police presence.

Samba Vallarta: Samba!

Had a blast at Samba… the quiet/small nature of the resort was awesome. Closer to ocean, ample space, no lines! Shout out to the amazing friends we made and the amazing team at resort… we’ll be back!

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Amazing resort

So the resort was beautiful. We had a swim up room which was totally worth it due to the main pool area being quite small, very small amount of lounge chair to be had. People are out reserving their chairs early. Food and drink were fantastic. Beach is also very small but nice. The only real complaint that I have since I’m a smoker is that there were only two places to smoke in whole adults only section. One was by the buffet area which was ok but needs a couple more cement bench’s for people [... read more] to sit. As for the other one it was closer to the main pool area, it was terrible and felt unsafe to use at night. It was not lit up at night and felt unsafe. No where to sit. Sign says do not walk on grass and it’s all grass to get there. So people were breaking the no smoking rules a lot.

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

Wyndham Alltra Cancun was a beautiful resort. The food was some of the best we have had on vacation. Taco bar on the beach was a favorite. Grill by main pool had some of the best chicken wings I've eaten. The burgers at the resort was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. A la cart restaurants were all delicious and no reservations needed. They also have a candy shop which served delicious coconut ice cream. Not to mention they include room service until 11pm at night. Service was amazing [... read more] and all the staff was friendly and accommodating. The theater for the nightly show isn't the best and honestly from attendance you can tell most people don't know about it. However the shows were decent but better advertising of the theater would be beneficial for them. Not a complaint but the pools are on the smaller size but never felt crowded.

Our time throughout was very pleasant start to finish. We enjoyed every moment be it the room, be it those dining areas, pools and the greenery around. Our only advise is to maintain the running water in the bath. We had few times when water stopped or became very low during shower Thanks

The Pyramid Cancun: Its not bad resort!

Its very big hotel, I can not say its bad, but its fair at all! The application nit very good to book the restaurant and its very to book the restaurants, ask to bringing the water or other things to the room was very difficult, there is no waiter or waitress beside the swimming pool and sea, nice pools, nice beach but extremly busy!

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: The worst!!

I’ve been to Puerto Vallarta a lot of times and this was the worst stay ever. Not a 4 stars hotel. The room was the worst. On the side of the Riu hotel, all we could hear was the AC noise. The room lack of major TLC. No curtains, no towels rack, no cover sheets, broken iron, the safe was not even attach. When we ask to put us in another room, the room they put us in was even worst. The wifi reception is worst then if you were in Cuba. The insult was the personnel at the reception don’t  [... read more]seem to care. It’s unfortunate, cause this hotel as potentiel. The pools and the beach are very nice. The staff is super friendly and the food was good.

Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Not the best

Food options and quality is not that great, other resorts beat this one in this category. Not a lot of activities to do compared to other resorts. Otherwise an OK resort to stay at, friendly staff and good service.
