Sol Turquesa Beach: memories Holquin Cuba
we just returned from two weeks at Memories Holguin Cuba. As usual the Cuban people never let you down, always friendly and welcoming. The hotel was lovely, we were in block 800, which is further away from the main area but we enjoyed it as it was very quiet. The food was always delicious, and plentiful, and the servers always happy to see us. Beautiful grounds, well kept, and lovely beach. The pools are stunning, two for children, one bar pool and one adult family pool. It is beautifully laid o [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: An unparalleled location.
My husband and I just spent a week at this lovely resort at the end of April, beginning of May. We had a wonderful experience overall. The staff were wonderfully helpful and we had no complaints about the food. I think that those who complain must be overly picky. Otherwise I can't understand them. Our room was definitely outdated, but we had what was promised in our package, namely a king sized bed, a stocked fridge and a bottle of rum. We also had the most beautiful view of the ocean from our [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: Not what expected...
I rated this resort a three star because I love Cuba and the cubans, their music, calm, smile... The resort itself is probably old and they don't have enough resources to renew it properly. The showers at the pool do not work, the washrooms are just a few and some of them waiting to be fixed. A minus of this resort is the size of it - it's huge and the distance you have to walk between room, restaurants, lobby, beach...is way to much, especially if it's very hot outside or a heavy rain is fallin [... read more]
Brisas Covarrubias: Nice, cozy, secluded
This was my first time at Brisas Covarrubias, and I would have to say it was a very good time! The staff were friendly and helpful, the beaches were clean and solicitor free, and you could walk for miles! After being to a more busier resort in Cuba, this was actually a nice break to be able to relax and socialize with other travellers and the staff. I would definitely go back and refer others to this resort!
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Totally relaxing - just fantastic.
This was our second trip here and we could not wait to arrive! The grounds and public areas are beautifully landscaped , very lush with flowers & greenery and the walkways are super for strolling for longer hikes. Exterior outside lighting was well thought out. alll amenities are easily assessable. The food is absolutely super at the buffet and all the restaurants. Just too many choices! The rooms are clean and comfortable and we found all the staff to be super nice and friendly. You must have a [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Beautiful Playa Esmeralda
Having been to the Cayos of Coco and Guillermo at the Iberostar Daiquiri and Memories Flamenco, it was easy to compare. Travelling on the mainland from the airport to Holguin allowed for us to see the beautiful scenery of rolling hills of green, heavily loaded mango trees, horses, dogs, local people and their houses, the inlet to the dolphinarium and so much more. Sol Rio de Luna Y Mares was a wonderful place to vacation. We were very comfortable in our oceanview suite, with a king size bed and [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Memories Beach resort
Great Stay! Beach not that great at this time that we went in end of April to May 1st - lots of seaweed but nice to lay on the beach anyhow. Very nice resort - The stairs were not a problem bc they even have paths to go up or down - even ppl with baby carriages there so cannot be that bad - so do not let the stairs bother yu - embrace them and let that and all the walking be your exercise. We liked it however will not go back bc we like to try other places....Enjoy!
Playa Costa Verde: wonderful resort
Spent 2 weeks at PCV and had a great time. Rooms were clean, the food was great, we could always could find a spot at the beach no matter what time we went down. Yes there are some rocks and coral in the water but you just needed to be careful going in and you were fine even without water shoes. Can't think of anything we didn't like. I would be happy to return to this resort again.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great updates
We were here 4 yrs ago and the updates were great. They have ice now. It was a major letdown when we couldn't get ice. Our drinks cooled off fast before. Now ice is available all over the resort. We have had minor issues with the food in the past. We weren't sure if it was the different food, the buffet or our own tummy issues. However, this trip was much much better. The a la carts We're opened up during the day, for made from order food. They didn't have to be booked like the 2 a la carts you [... read more]
Playa Costa Verde: Quite dated but fair for the price.
This resort is fair for the price. The rooms are quite large and have everything necessary but need a total update. We were on the main floor (tried to get moved to second floor but wouldn't do it) and we found a lot of bugs every day coming back to our room. The food was adequate, always found something to eat. It is Cuba lol. The beach was wonderful with coral reefs for snorkelling and lots of water activities. I found the staff and people wonderful, very warm and friendly, definitely a plus. Playa Costa Verde: great time, awesome beach, good snorkeling
resort was good, rooms were clean, maids were great, wait staff were good, the omelette lady, donut lady & rice lady at the main buffet were all excellent, japanese was by far the best a la carte because of the entertainment and food, cuban was also good, would have preferred a lengthier drink list, patricia at the beach bar was great
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Highly recommend!
What can I say...well the resort was fabulous...the staff were fantastic and the beach was GREAT! We were at the Sol for the last two weeks of April 2015 and I can honestly say it is the best resort we've been at in Cuba thus far out of six at various locations. We stayed in the Luna section which was very quiet and enjoyable. While we did experience a couple of unavoidable room issues the customer service staff were very quick to respond and even followed up with phone calls to ensure we had be [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: Great Resort But...
This was our second time at Playa Pesquero. We enjoyed our first visit so we decided to go back. The resort is very well maintained and the staff is great. We found the food to be well above average for Cuba. The beach is sandy and there is also some places for snorkelling. The rooms we had 1815 and 1818 were in good shape and actually better than our first visit. If you have mobility issues, it's the best spot to be as you are close to the lobby, pools and buffets. This is a very large resort a [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: amazing resort and great employees
I just can't imagine going to a different hotel. This where my Cuban friends are that I have known for yrs. I feel like I'm going to see part of my family ever time I visit. I have visited their homes and farms.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: My best experience in Cuba!
I have been in La Habana, Matanzas and Varadero several times. But I can assure you this has been the best trip so far. We stayed at the bungalows section and everything was clean and in good conditions. Not complains at all about the rooms. Personally I didn't like the Tropical and Atlantic section. I liked the bungalows and villas section and I am sure that the little extra money worth what you have as a plus for your room. Amenities are okay. You have the advantage of have access to several [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Lovely Beach and staff
First of all the beach is lovely and the staff are very accomodating. It had been 6 years since visiting Cuba and found the food hasn't changed much, still not great and little variety. The drinks were disappointing as well, wine not very good and hated all the slushie drinks. We had 2 days of rain and had a dam at the next resort wash out which caused all the beach water to turn brown so didn't get to enjoy water due to this and rainy weather. It was a relaxing week.
Brisas Covarrubias: Relaxing spot Brisas Covarrubias
This is our 14 the visit to Cuba so we where well aware of what to expect...This resort is 2 1/2 hours from the airport on typical Cuban roads The beach is truly amazing. The food is typical of a 3 1/2 star you will not go hungry. Its a very low key resort with not much going on but if you are looking for some r&r its perfect
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great family trip
This hotel was one of the best my wife and I have been to in Cuba. We brought our entire family including grand children and were treated very well. The grounds are very large so a lot of walking is a must. Would definately go back as a group. VIP is a must.
Brisas Guardalavaca: Wonderful Resort
Went to this resort on recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Resort was clean, friendly, helpful staff, great food and excellent entertainment. Will definitely be a repeat customer.Loved it!
Playa Pesquero: Wonderful vacation
Totally enjoyed our week at Playa Pesquerio. Beautiful resort but it is the warm and friendly people that continue to bring us back. Wonderful beach and pool area. Great variety of food options. Miss my wonderful coffee in the lobby every morning.
