VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

Really nice resort. The food is good with something for everyone to choose from. The staff were very friendly and did an excellent job keeping the bathrooms clean, the gardens and lawns beautiful and the beach raked and clean.

Occidental Punta Cana: 7.5/10.....

I'll keep it simple and concise... Beach is great, not a rock or shell. Water clear and warm. Never calm but not rough. Just wave off vendors. They keep trying but aren't super pushy. Resort clean and visually appealing. (some minor details in room, but nothing horrible) Pools nice and water temp perfect. Food was good overall. Pizza bar was good feature. A la carts mostly a joke as usual, but it is what it is for the money you pay. Coffee not good as usual in caribbean LOL (get coffee in  [... read more]lobby bar to go... its much better and hot) Staff were pleasant overall but most speak little English. Put time share staff in their place from the beginning and ask them to respect your wish to be left alone, otherwise they will keep trying. Had to complain about one outside vendor who was getting rude and manager made him leave property. Not much entertainment wise when we were there. However...The Circus show was really good. Like a mini Circ de soleil... Overall glad we went there and would recommend.

Riu Palace Macao: The renovated Macao

We have vacationed at the Palace Macao since many years and we had a swim up Elite suite for the first time in November. Fantastic! No more going up elevators and down long hallways, we were only steps away from the beach and all the amenities. We had always enjoyed the Macao, and after the renovations, it is even better than it was before. Our favorite features are the large "palm tree forest" where you can always find a lounger and shade, the huge shared Riu property beach, Scuba Caribe on s [... read more]ite, and the many seating areas available in the "verandah" which runs the width of the hotel. Service is always great, and the resort is always well kept and clean. We will be back for our 7th time!

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Not what it’s cracked up to be

Ok so overall we had a great trip but there where some issues The good Beautiful resort Great breakfast service (if you found the right area) endtito was fantastic Beach service was great thanks Raoul!! Adult only pool was great Buffet was mostly the same but good A carte (if you can get in). Great The bad Most staff didn’t speak any English Had to drag info out of staff on check in (is the room ready? When to come back?) Most staff didn’t seem very happy the first few days [... read more] Room wasn’t made one day The ugly Impossible to get a a la cart restaurant, and they were at maybe 50% capacity Had to us 30 min every day to try and get them. Only mangers to get to 4 Every time you try to get a reso there is none available or after 9pm Concierge was useless (3 of our group had them and they all failed) Too many levels (circle club, reserve, nikite reg). Concierge booked our group with a kid at adults only restaurant Kids in gym Kids in adult only section Overall will never return unless they fix the a carte mess

Occidental Caribe: Unexpected Gem!

We booked here by accident, one word difference...oops! So how did it go? Food - I found the buffet itself to be the best with a variety of foods, hard working staff and a warm friendly hostess (ill call her Flo, first 3 letters of her name). Grounds - were very nice and constantly being taken care of, from painting to grass cutting. Bathroom/shower were great. Pools - very nice, no complaints. Beach - awesome, little chopey at times but it made it fun. Lots of palm trees to grab some shade and plenty of chairs to go around. Front desk - my man Martinez always hustling for people in several languages, he was hard working and accommodating, give this man a raise! Bartenders Juan & Sandy were friendly and knew how to handle the crowd. Overall 8/10, much better experience then a lot of reviews I read. Minor complaints, other entitled travelers and mosquitos only in the theater. Oh, Tony the Air Transat rep on the resort was friendly and informative too. In booking incorrectly and initially trying to swap hotels with air Transat was a joke and not helpful, the hotels made stronger attempts to accommodate but we ended up staying here and were pleasantly surprised. I'd go again. PS we did the monkeyland excursion, it was great, thx Kevin our guide. There was a coffee farm too, with a funny informative gent giving the presentation. Offered reasonably priced alcohol, coffee, cream etc with no hounding, impressed. Until next vacation, don't forget your drinking cups ✌️...

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Amazing Resort more than 5 stars

This was our first visit to Bahia Principe Fantasia & let me mention it was absolutely fantastic and highly recommenced for families. Food was amazing with nothing spared by the resort. Facilities were outstanding and overall experience was well worth it.

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Go to Dreams Macao Beach!

Dreams Macao Beach was the best resort that my family has ever been to. I typically like to experience different hotels with no desire to return a second time until our stay at Dreams Macao. The staff was incredible, friendly, helpful and happy. The food was above average for resort standards. The rooms were so clean and nicely decorated and cleaned twice a day. The entertainment was amazing! My only complaint was the beach was red flag every day, possible the time of year we went, but the beach [... read more] itself was beautiful. There was something for everyone, I highly recommend Dreams Macao!

Secrets Cap Cana: Secrets Cap Cana - Third Time’s a Charm

We’ve just returned from a wonderful vacation at Secrets Cap Cana. From the moment we arrived everything was fabulous. The beach is one of the nicest we’ve ever seen. After breakfast each day we’d spend our time on the beach, relaxing under our palapa. Late afternoon we’d head up to the pool and have a couple of cervesas at Manatees pool bar. Thanks Manuel! All restaurants are good with excellent service. Our favourite was El Patio and Gilbert was a fabulous waiter. Entertainment in the lobby each night was excellent, with a good variety of musicians. This was our third visit to Secrets Cap Cana and we were in the Preferred Club. Darling was our butler and he was outstanding!!! We’d get a text each morning from him outlining the day’s activities, and at some point during the morning, Darling would visit us on the beach. Darling took care of several departure details, which we were grateful for. We’ll definitely be back and hope we’re lucky enough to have Darling as our butler.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Wonderful Time at a Wonderful Resort

My travel partner had been here before, recommended it, and consented to return. It was just as she said, beautiful, unique, great food, lovely clean beach, friendly staff, totally satisfying accommodations and well secured. I saw lawn/garden maintenance at its best, paint being updated and bathroom accessories being upgraded. Our maid was consistently taking care of our room, separate staff keeping our fridge stocked and bar/buffet/restaurant staff and servers were quick and efficient an [... read more]d so friendly and appeared to love their role of making everyone happy. Entertainment was very good. Of most importance this week I experienced first hand asking for assistance for medical reasons and the response was amazing, efficient and extremely prompt. Five staff in 3 minutes. Their kindness and concern was so appreciated.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort Spa and Casino: Beautiful Resort but no adults only section

We stayed here the first week of November. We booked adults only section. The resort is absolutely beautiful, food was ok, drinks were great, service excellent. There were no activities at the adult pool. Our section of the hotel had kids running up and down the halls and the clubs, no matter the time of night were also full of kids. There is no adult time at this hotel, or any adult vibe. We were told due to low occupancy everyone was out together and when the theatre isn’t open the shows  [... read more]are in the clubs and all ages are allowed. We did not enjoy never being kid-free. So we would not return to this resort. Be aware that you will always be around small children, with the exception of the adults pool.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Nice Beach

We did enjoy our stay. Nice beach, rooms nice and clean with comfy beds. Buffet excellent, however, the 3 restuarants you needed to book were awful. The food and service could do with improvement. Overall staff were friendly, but needs some improvement on Customer Service.

Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus: One of the better resorts

Liked everything except aggressive street sellers. Beach is very good. Scuba diving operation is one of best. Safary trip was mostly going from store to store but it had its interesting moments. Perfect location-no storms through the two-week vacation.

Punta Cana Princess: Nice hotel

Very nice hotel, well kept. The staff was very friendly. Not much to do there. They have a large pool and a beautiful beach. Many bars and a variety of restaurants. Make sure you brush your teeth with bottled water. Beware of the foods you eat....we were deathly sick( from the salad) washed in bad water!!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great Resort amazing people

Beautiful resort, good size not very big. Rooms are also great. The restaurants were amazing no issues getting in for dinner. But the people really makes this resort stand out. The entertainment Pedro and Luis, pool parties waitresses Rosa and the amazing Yuritza at the lobby bar all took very good care of us!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great time at Bouganville

This was an interesting trip and one I won’t forget too soon. First we arrived on Nov 18th we sat down for dinner and the skies opened up. Was the most rain the DR had ever received in one day. Sunday morning the shoreline was covered in debris at first they said it would be 1-2 weeks to clean up well the resort did it in 4 days! They really were amazing and everyone appreciated how hard they worked to get the beach fixed. Now for the resort itself: Grounds: beautiful they really look after i [... read more]t and I could not find one area that wasn’t kept up. Beach: Can only review based on not being able to go in the water, the area that was open was the part with many loungers and palapa’s. We never had to hunt for one there are many and lots of shade or sun whichever you want. Room: yes they are a little dated I have been in better but our housekeeper kept it clean and tidy all week. I slept well and never had to ask for anything. Mini fridge was filled with what we wanted and we had ample clean towels. Nice sitting area (we were in standard poolside) bathroom is a good size. Food: We ate at the buffet more often then we normally would, while I found it smaller then others this meant that everything was fresh and there was never an empty serving dish for more then a couple of minutes. I found the buffet food to be very good, nice variety and good tasting. Omelette station is perfect, only issue was the beach buffet the lines could be long especially around 1pm. We went to La Pascadore - solid 5 out of 5 great service interesting food Don Pablo 4 out of 5 food is excellent service is good but slow and I didn’t like the high pressure tactic to buy a $70 bottle of wine. Takara: 4.5 out of 5 Food is amazing make sure you are hungry service is very good. Los Corales Rodizio: 3 out of 5 terrible service, food was ok except for the meat it was the only good point, will skip this one next time. Pools: Quiet pool is just that but if you don’t get a lounger by 9am you won’t get one till later on. Loved the swim up bar great bartender one of our favourite spots. The main pool is busier but you could still get loungers around 10am, bar is ok but not the best. Jacuzzi pool is interesting but we only went in once, the bar there is excellent. We did not like the beach bar, could not make a drink very slow and not friendly. The water in the pools is a very nice temperature all the time and they are big enough you always have space. People: this is what makes this resort honestly some of the nicest people I have ever meant, check in and out was so easy and you feel like family from the minute you get there. Lounge bar is great and there are servers all over. However the best is the Entertainment group, they work so hard and they made the vacation for us. Always smiling and saying Hi they try to involve anyone who wants to be and are constantly on the go. We really enjoyed the water aerobics and the nightly shows. The app: this worked really well for us, room service was punctual and anything we needed we could do through it and our butler kept an eye on us. Made check in and check out very easy as well as reservations and schedules. We will be returning as well as trying some other Bahia properties, thank you Trip Central and Victoria for helping us find somewhere we will be happy going back to.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Meh

CONS : Mediocre food, minimal entertainment, very dated rooms, pushy timeshare people, crummy a la carte restaurants. PRO: nicely manicured grounds, nice beach, the passing cruise ships are fun to watch

Temptation Miches Resort 21 Plus: Okay resort

Needed more shows at night. Not everyone likes club entertainment. Different entertainment at night. Too much pool shows beach need more activities also. The resort overall is okay it don’t seem as it looks

Playabachata Hotel: Group Vacation

I did not select this resort for my vacation , it was selected by a friend of a friend , and we were all to meet at the resort. The group had a fantastic time. the grounds of the resort are well maintained and I can only speak of the room we were finally given as there was an initial hiccup as we had requested a Superior room with 2 beds ( of course we were given a Superior room , with 1 bed ) adjusted the next day . had a great view of the beach. food while not spectacular was edible and plenti [... read more]ful, if you went hungry , it was your choice . the staff was great , and tried to accommodate whenever possible. the grounds did seem to be showing there age as some wear and tear on the pool and loungers . Quality of the loungers was impressive . overall we went to spend time with our friends , old and new !!

Paradisus Grand Cana: Amazing vacation at Falcons!

This is a fantastic family resort! We upgrades to the beyond experience and don’t regret it. The hotel is modern and well maintained and food was delicious. One thing to note is that evening entertainment is not the most fan but the do some activities. However, there are lots of activities for kids and adults during the day. The beach is a short ride away and the provide service every 5 min or so!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Very Bad Resort

Staff doesn't speak English......don't visit if you can only speak English and doesn't know Spanish since all activities are in Spanish. They don't know how to cook chicken, Beds and rooms were smelling bad. All restaurants aren't open everyday and make sure to do reservations if you want to eat at Fine dining restaurant. Overall bad experience at the resort.
