Starfish Cayo Guillermo: My first trip to Cuba

Overall, the trip was good. It was a wonderful experience. However, I was disappointed in my room. My room was filled with ants. As there was a big space under my bedroom door leading to the outside, I had crabs, lizards and frogs in my room. When we had tropical rains, water came in through the bottom of the door and in through the walls. It was very unsettling. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great

Resort had great value. Beach was great food was good. A decent variety. Smack bar was a great option instead of the buffet. Location is remote but we were not looking for any night life off the resort or excursions. It was just what we were looking for.

Hotel Mojito: ameizing resort

Public area, restaurants, beach, rooms, they was clean and organize.service from personnel was very good . we see that they need improvement in landscaping and to disinfect areas in resort to minimize flies and mosquitos. pools clean and other services was open with full assistance.

Hotel Playa Coco: Great return trip

Just returned from two wonderful weeks at this hotel, thanks to all the staff from the front desk to the waiters, bartenders, cooks, cleaning people, gardeners and everyone else that made our trip special. We have loved this Hotel since our first visit in 2004, no hot water a couple of days did not take away from its charm, rooms spacious and clean, food was good, the gardens are returning after the hurricane damage, the beach is beautiful, soft white sand and warm water, pools are clean. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Good but not Great!

This is my 5th trip to Cuba but first time to Cayo Coco. We booked 3 rooms; 2 ocean view and 1 super saver. The reception managed to get us all in the same room block. My room on the second floor was ocean view but was very disappointing. The room smelled of mold. The bedspread had black mold on it as did the wood around the doorframe and the wall was bubbled. The room next to us was much cleaner but the fridge didn't work and their was no hot water in the shower. Complaints made to Gues [... read more]t Services fell on deaf ears as they did not come to look at either issue. I found outside the building that dishes were left for days before they were cleaned up. The gardens, pool area and beach was great and well kept. We ate at the buffet restaurant most days as the food was good. We ate at the Mexican a la carte and were disappointed at the food, service and display. We didn't book at the other a la carte restaurants as we heard similar reviews. I love to go to Cuba as I love the Cuban people. Most of the staff here I found to be friendly and nice with the exception of the lobby bar staff who were miserable and the drinks that they made were a reflection of this. Overall, I would not return to this hotel and although rated 4 stars, I would rate it a 3 at best.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Not so Grand: no live Cuban musicians

Pluses: infinity pool, nice rooms, decent beach and not far from Playa Pilar (one of the best beaches in the world), beautiful gardens, flowers, etc. Several pools to choose from and comfortable lobby. Decent showers, good upkeep of rooms. Negatives: Food could be improved on and the lack of live Cuban musicians was a great disappointment. Melia Cayo Coco: Glad to have returned.

Arrived to a day of rain. We had about 41/2 days of sun. A lot of work had been done since Hurricane Irma but it will take some more time till it reaches the quality that it was before. The staff had been amazing and it was great to see them again with their smiling faces. You can tell that they love their jobs. Do not regret this visit at all.

Hotel Mojito: ameizing resort

every thing was nice except they need to disinfect areas outside for flies and mosquitos. rooms large and clean, service so nice beach clean and good service from bar snack pools nice and in good conditions, they need more improvements on landscaping areas inside resort.

Melia Cayo Coco: Same excellent quality as always

Back several times already and will not consider another resort. The personnel is amazing: Abel and Hector and the ladies at breakfast in the dining room, Jose and Robert and Jeanette at the YHI spa and gym (including the life guards - good company at the gym - thanks guys!) and Yoga , the ladies Vivian and Yeoyilani (did I spell that right?) for lunch at the beach restaurant, staff at the reception, the maids, the entertainment crew - absolutely everyone made my stay again great - will be back  [... read more]next June!!!

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: tu ne manqueras pas ton coup !

De retour de Iberostar playa pillar encore sous le choc. A une heure de route de l aéroport.Tres bel hotel avec une architecture design. nous avons été tres bien recu et ils ont respecté toutes nos demandes pour la chambre .Buffet tres bien ,restaurant pour ma part c était divertissant sans plus.Théatre surprenant tout les soirs.Déception ..... pour la plage ,ce n est pas la plage que j ai connue en 2009.Bruit ,trop pres de la route et futur hotels en construtions.... .Le personnels est [... read more] tres serviable et chaleureux .Propretée dans la chambre négliger,le mur coté lit était couvert de poussiere,la douche style pluie tres inconfortable si tu ne veut pas mouillé tes cheveux, nous avons manqué d eau chaude ils nous ont offert une autre chambre mais elle était juste a cotée de la route et avait plus de poussiere sur les murs ,service tres rapide au bar du lobbey ,tres grande piscine et les touristes de la Grande Bretagne ,Canada,Espage .....participent pour le plus grand bonnheur des annimateurs qui travaille tres fort mais il faudra qu ils amménage mieux la plage avant que nous y retournions.

Melia Costa Rey: Wonderful holiday

Wasn't sure when I first arrived....had read the most recent reviews and was a little worried about all the problems people the previous week had run into................check in was late.....but waiting in the lobby wasn't all that bad.....bar service there was wonderful as were the drinks. I had an oceanview room in building 34.....lovely............only problem was that the coffee maker didn't work...........nor did the one that replaced it. No problem ever getting seating or shade. Food was not bad....always something to eat. Service was prompt. Took a tour to the city of Moron which also included a sugar museum, an alligator farm, lunch ( soooo good) a speed boat ride and a stop for a pina colada.............enjoyed the day so much!!!!! and thought it was well worth the money. Entertainment around the resort was well done..............only went to one show in the theatre area. My overall impression was made by the staff.............everyone was so pleasant...........and their memories were impressive in terms of remembering what I wanted to drink or what I had done the previous day.............so friendly and caring!!!!!! Linguistic abilities are to be admired

Melia Jardines del Rey: Very nice

The resort was top notch for Cuba also the food was top notch for Cuba. A good time for young and old. To be completely honest I may actually repeat this resort. Staff were good especially when you are good to them.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Nice beach

This was my first time in Cayo Coco. It is a nice beach but the resort is very tired. The staff are friendly and helpful. Upon my arrival I was told that is was rainy season:( not very happy that I was not informed by the travel agent. I got to my room and I was not impressed. It smelled moldy and the air conditioner was very loud and it did not have a grill covering it. I went to take a shower at the end of day and there was no hot water! I called the front desk seven times and no one w [... read more]as helpful. I finally walked to the front desk after dinner and they knew right away who I was based on the number of calls I made. I have to admit they were very helpful, without me explaining anything they said they would move me to another room. They sent me with a staff member to inspect the room and it was much better so I appreciated that. The beach was lovely however when it rained morning and night there was really no way that I could enjoy the beach. The food was ok. It was the typical buffet food. The maid service was very good. They made sure that I had water every day and put towels on the bed in a lovely design. I did tip them well upon my arrival so that I would be sure to have good service. I don't think that I would go back to that resort. It needs a lot of repairs. It is very tired looking but they are working on it. I think that the worst part was that the travel agent did not inform me that it was rainy season. Had I known I never would have gone in the first place but obviously they don't care. When they called me for a follow up and I asked them why I was not informed that it was rainy season the response was " I guess I should have told you"! SERIOUSLY, YA THINK! I am not impressed with the agency and will never use them again.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Not a 4 Star Resort

The buffet was the same thing day in day out, fish, chicken and pork. The only seasoning consisted of a bit of salt and maybe pepper. They should try using a few herbs to go with the salt. Dishes in the buffet were never identified so you didn't know what it was. There was no bacon at breakfast ever but they had roast pork on a regular basis. The beach was sandy but there were too many weeds and you couldn't go in very far. Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful resort

We’ll organize and friendly invironment. Area is always clean regardless to weather condition. Walking distance to the beach and accessories are well accessible. Friendly guest. Resort is perfect for young and old specially for young couples with toddlers and up. I conclude as a grandma grandpa that this one resort of many is just perfect.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Wonderful people

I found the people at the resort to be lovely and very helpful. The beach was gorgeous and the room was nice. I did have a bit of an issue that the entire bathroom had no door on it. My main complaint would be currency exchange. There is a ‘bank’ at the resort but we were charged a crazy exchange rate. For $90 Cdn we received 63 convertible pesos. That seems to be more than buying America or European cash which seems way too high.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Large resort

We had asked for ground floor rooms close to the pool and restaurants. Unfortunately we had 2nd floor rooms when we booked in and were told we had to return the next day at 4pm at which time we were given ground floor accommodations. Unfortunately they were not real close to the pool for the other couple which had difficulty walking. The restaurants also where a fair distance. The grounds still required a lot of repair from the terrible storm that had devastated a lot of the Caribbean. The fo [... read more]od was fairly good at the a la crate restaurants. The buffet had a great assortment of food, so easy to please everyone. The rooms where comfortable, but most days the supplies in the bathroom were not replenished, and the coffee and tea was in the room was none existent. In the other room they didn’t even have a coffee maker but had coffee packets left one day. So everyday I had to make the walk up to the main lobby bar to get coffees (a tad inconvenient).

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great place for value. Amazing beach

It was a typical 4 star resort for Cuba....great beach, beer was cold, you could always find something good to eat. Rooms were good. Had no real problems. Walking on the beach to the sandbars is a great idea!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great trip!

Staff were fantastic. My 5 year old loved the kids club. Beach was gorgeous. Did not upgrade to diamond club, and don't think we missed out on anything. Building 2, facing the pool, was a bit noisy at night, but I could also see the shows from my balcony. Close to everything, which was really convienient. Foam party was awesome!
