Riu Santa Fe: good trip

Food was great service was great The only complaint it was it was spring break and all the college students were blowing off steam and were not mind full of other guests. I would return but not during spring break a little out of control for my likings I can't say enough about the service and the food.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Fantastic - truly a 5 star resort!

We absolutely loved the Riu Palace resort in Los Cabos. There was so much choice in the buffet and the food was prepared perfectly. It was the first holiday resort where we actually preferred eating in the buffet restaurant vs a la carte! I particularly loved the breakfast, where you could get a variety of freshly made juices and smoothies. I had a different one everyday. Service throughout the resort was top notch. The only negative comm [... read more]ent I have, is room cleaning, when done was fine, however they missed us for 2 days at the beginning of our holiday. In future, I will make a point of choosing the Rui Palace wherever we travel if available.

Riu Republica: very nice resort

Just came back from Riu Republica (from March 19 to 26) very nice resort. ..beautiful ground. .. staff really nice... food excellent. ..big pools... but I will not go back there due to the big waves that are always there...I am a beach/sea person and I couldn't go relax in the sea ... if you like waves... perfect place... but not for me...

Riu Republica: beautiful resort, great people in DR!

This is a great resort. Only 10 months old and very modern. Rooms are bright, clean and spacious. Food was excellent. no reservations needed for a la carte . Pools are salt water and always very clean. Beach is fabulous but we had big waves our whole stay. Drinks were good and the service was excellent. Would definitively go back. Thanks to Genesis and the whole staff.

Riu Bambu: Ok resort - 1st time in punta cana so hard to compare

The hotel was clean and the staff were very nice and hard-working . Beach was absolutely beautiful. Lots of chairs and choice for pools as well. Some features that made it just ok for me were that for a family of 4 I found room to be pretty tight, beds were twins. Also our room was a long walk from pools and restaurants. My husband and I did get sick and think it was something we ate. Food was plentiful but I am picky ..and I did not like too many things. Got tired of buffet and seeing same th [... read more]ings all day. Italian and steak house were good.first time in Dominican but have been to Mexico several times and Bahamas. Have stayed at 5stars in Mexico so this didn't compare to that for hotel but beach was way nicer and weather was hot hot!

Riu Reggae: RIU REGGAE EXCELLENT RESORT

the hotel is "boutique" and modern. It is not the regular RIU with arches , character pieces and grandeur! However we got used to the modern boutique décor, and found it pleasing. As usual the accommodations, food etc. were up to RIU standards and very good. The "specialty" restaurants were easy to attend, very little if any line ups. The beach was nice but not exceptional.Although you could walk past the RIU Palace, and use the RIU Montego bay facilities and beach. Not the case, they are noticeable big time, and are passing over every 20 minutes sometimes in the day! A small price to pay for paradise! I strongly suggest NOT using the scheduled bus from the airport on arrival. It took almost an hour to leave the terminal, even though all were on board ! Get a cab for $10 and save some time. Its only a 7 minute drive ! Sunwing was the only issue we had. They rescheduled the return flight twice, from 2.55 pm to 9.35 pm to 10.35 pm. There was no apology at any time for the inconvenience. People were not impressed. This is typical Sunwing! Little to no customer service or care. However, notwithstanding Sunwing the holiday was great ! Highly recommend!

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Great for the price!

For the price bracket we paid, this was about as good as we could expect. Beach was very nice, rooms were average, sunsets were great, staff was amazing and the food was better than expected - especially the a-la-cart restaurants (which don't require reservations). In general the crowd was over 30 and the place cleared out around 1030pm (after the show) most nights, but if you wanted to go later the RIU resort down the street (with reciprocals) had a disco and livelier scene.

Riu Merengue: Hotel was good

The part of the hotel we stayed was old. This was very visible. Room safes were very small and we felt unsure using them as they were a key lock. How many keys could there be? there was no fan in the washroom and no hairdryer in the room, had to go to front desk to ask for one. The food was fine and had a selection. The service in the buffet was hit and miss. The bar service was fine. The resort is large and spread out. There could have been a few more washrooms around as you had to search for [... read more] them. The entertainment in the evening was more for the kids in the resort. I have travelled to many destinations and I feel this one was the worse for adult entrainment. Do not feel I will stay in RUI hotel again.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: RIU - Paradise Island

Been back to this resort several times and have enjoyed every time. Staff is amazing and friendly. They take excellent care of the rooms, the common areas, the pool and beach. We Had a great time. Understanding renovations are coming up on this resort... looking forward to seeing them in the fall....

Riu Palace Aruba: Fantastic!!

Everything about this hotel was 5 star! Food was fantastic, drinks abundant, kind and extremely courteous staff! Grounds were immaculate and the beach was out of this world! A wonderful vacation and one that we will plan again!

Riu Emerald Bay: Great place to stay!!!!!!!

We love this hotel - our third time staying here. Everything is so clean and meticulous. Staff friendly and attentive and very caring. Great selection in the Buffet with different specialty nights. The pool, grounds and beach are beautiful. We highly recommend this hotel as a great getaway!!!!!

Riu Reggae: Riu Reggae

We stayed at the Riu Reggae in Montego Bay. This is a new hotel as of Nov, 2016. The good: The food was excellent! The staff were so friendly and very accommodating The entertainment was good for the most part The beach was lovely The bad: --We had a garden view room that had probably the worst view anyone could imagine! It was overlooking a jungle basically with a pile of brush thrown all over the ground and I think building supplies from when it was constructed. I guess we could [... read more] have complained but thought we aren't on the balcony very much during the week so we let it go. --We had very slow service at one of the food venues and one of our party ended up leaving before dessert was served. We were over 2 hours there and were watching guests that arrived after us being served before we were! --I badly bruised my toe on a raised grate on the bottom of the pool in front of the swim up bar. There are raised vents on the bottom here and there that you don't notice until you walk into one because you don't expect that at the bottom of a pool. I'm sure they have a reason for it but should have signs posted perhaps? I didn't notice any. Other than those few problems, we really thought the hotel was great. They kept us entertained in the bar, on the beach, around the pool and in the evening. The staff was very friendly which made the vacation very enjoyable!

Riu Playa Blanca: Awesome Resort for the Price!

The hotel and all amenities are perfectly laid out. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Every room is ocean view. Pools, service and food are fantastic. The Pool Bar could use a closer set of washrooms though. The beach is great for walking on but, not so great for swimming. The tides and ocean are pretty rough. Canadians get to fly into Rio Hato airport (5 minutes from the resort) while US people have to fly into Panama City (2 1/2hrs from the resort). We landed, shuttled, checked in, dro [... read more]pped off our stuff in our room and were at dinner all within 30 minutes of arrival - AMAZING!

Riu Palace Peninsula: Great resort

Beautiful views of the ocean.... great staff and clean resort....Would go back definatly................................................................................................................

Riu Tequila: Great Vacation Spot

All staff and entertainment was just amazing. Hotel holds it old world charm of Mexico. Would've been nice if it was on the ocean as well, but it was just a short walk away. Hats off to the Entertainment staff from the early morning, well into the evenings who were always out to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great Girls Trip !

Things went very fast and smooth at the airport. The bus ride is a short 15 minutes and check-in was supper fast with a separate table set up waiting for our bus. Just a note for departure there is very little at the airport as it is still quite new. Be sure to eat before leaving your resort as there is only vending machines with snacks at airport. Resort is an average size with elevators so no long walks unless you decide to venture up the beach. The rooms were clean and well kept with prompt  [... read more]maid service every day. The resort has well kept grounds and is always very clean. One of the complaints that our groups did have was that there are no washrooms at the pool or beach area, so you have to walk back to resort area for washrooms. Beach is huge with plenty of trees for shade. The water is quite rough and there is an undertow so if you are an avid fan of spending a lot of time in the ocean this may not be your vacation spot. The sand was so hot you had to wear your flip flops everywhere. Pools are large and clean with plenty of seating and tables in them. Also multiple pools including an area with slides for children. Plenty of shade and chairs around the pools. Food was average. There is no longer a reservation process for the alacartes so that makes things simple. First come first serve. There is a fridge in the back of the Sports Bar with snacks that you can grab and go. Just a note for smokers....there is an area for smoking on the beach and that is the only smoking area. There are strict fines for those caught smoking outside of delegated areas or in their rooms!

Riu Bambu: Beautiful Beach

The Riu Bambu was a very well kept resort. The beach was beartiful and our room was clean so no complaints there. Wifi was hard to access in the lobby. The bartenders could have been a little happier/friendlier. They weren't rude, they just were not happy. The 4 a la cart restaurants were not by reservation and they only had 2 open each night. Even though we didn't have any kids with us we took advantage of the new water park which was free for anyone staying at this resort. Leave your je [... read more]wellery in your room because they won't let you go down the slides with it on. Safer in your room. Again, nice and clean.

Riu Merengue: Fun, good but not great

Nice beach with lots of chairs and shade, big resort so you can walk lots, entertainment was average, buffet was good lots of choices, however a la carte restaurant you have to wait in line and hope you get in and really not that special if you do get in! Don't use Canadian money the exchange rate varies from place to place and minute by minute and normally not good!

Riu Republica: I want to go back

I've been on several vacations to the Caribbean over the past several years. i have to say that Riu Republica has to be the finest that i have had the pleasure of attending. The check in staff have been the friendliest by far, the room was awesome and the food was delicious. yes there were some things that i didn't like at the buffet, but isn't there things on your favorite restaurant's menu you don't like too? my only disappointment, cant say a complaint, is that there was no bar or bar servi [... read more]ce on the beach. not a huge deal fro me, but sometimes when your comfy you just don't want to have to get up for a drink- lol overall we loved the time there, i will be going back again

Riu Cancun: Lovely experience

I had the best experience. I really appreciate the trio centre agent Karol who recommended me this resort. It was an amazing resort, it had everything what a tourist need in order to enjoy. Beach was awesome, rooms were very clean, amenities were amazing, waiters and ground personnel were very cooperative and had smile on their faces all the time. I recommend all of my friend to must go this resort.
