Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great Food!

I highly recommend staying that this resort, no complaints. Food was great, beach bar with DJ open every night for the partiers, great evening entertainment and friendly service.Rooms were clean and beautiful view!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Cuba 2015

Hotel was aged, but bed was clean. A little too far from the airport for our liking.. We had oceanview...Staff were rude, A lot of return customers(their 12 or 13th time) and the staff knew them so they got served first no matter where you were...(Bar or Restaurant), and if you didn' t tip or speak any Spanish you got no service at all.......For the price we paid, it was an amazing time..Definetely not a 3 star though. Playa Costa Verde: Awesome

Awesome resort. Rooms clean. Food good but different variety themes night to night would be better. Some of the serving staff could be happier. More bar tenders would be good. Grounds kept very clean even after torrential rain. Thxs for a great holiday.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: great getaway

The hotel was nice, staff was great, the food was good. We ate at the Japanese and Mediterran and was happy with both. Book your ala carts early as they fill up fast.We took our lounge chairs that were by the pool and dragged over by the steps to go to the beach and had a great view of the beach and the ocean

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Very nice for the right price

We only paid $560 a person so to complain about the resort would be unfair. I've been to 4+/5 star resorts for double the price that weren't as good as this resort! I'm comparing to 3 other resorts in varadero and cayo Coco that I have been to. The food: no pizza which I thought was odd, it's very similar to every other resort in Cuba, not a lot of variety compared to other resorts. I ate a lot of cheeseburgers and hot dogs mainly the whole stay as I was kind of sick of the buffet.(Although you  [... read more]can have thin pizza at the Italian restaurant for lunch but the line ups are long). We only tried the Cuban restaurant and it was surprisingly very good (minus the dessert don't get the mint cake thing...) The pool: being non vip members we were only allowed at our pool, which I personally found to be very small and had dirt on the bottom and band aids floating around, I'm guessing because it was very crowded this week maybe they didn't have time to clean it ??. (I preferred the beach this time). The bars: very very nice servers, my favourite was Raul at the main pirate bar! He was very sweet. The beach bar is good too not too long of line ups either. The beach: has some rocky spots but you can walk around them. It was probably the smallest beach I have ever been to width wise. The non motorized boats took up most of the beach and you aren't allowed to swim in that area which kind of sucks cause everyone else is crowded in one spot. There was some tropical fish that I saw but not too much going on. (Way more than I've ever seen in varadero ever). The rooms: the beds were hard as rock but that's what you get in Cuba and I didn't mind at all. The only complaint I have is that the blankets they use feel worse than curtains and I'm not kidding I would honestly think they took them off the walls and put them on the beds... The rooms were clean, the maids were great. (Minus the fact that they scream talk every morning from 630 am to whatever time that got quite annoying) The wifi is 3$ for half an hour which was okay but it didn't work the entire time and my friend and I lost our money once or twice because of it. Things to do: nothing lol. Outside of the resort they have a small "market" but it's really nothing special, it has all the typical Cuban souvenirs that's about it! Overall: there were a lot of elderly people and French people or couples with babies. If you are looking to party I suggest you go somewhere else unless you are on a budget like I was:). Overall it was a very nice resort and the food was decent, the beach was nice and clear (cayo coco and varadero are a little nicer) except for some rocks and cig butts but everything you can look past at the right price!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Good value for your dollars!

Just came back from our trip and we had an overall good time! Pros: - The pools and grounds look just as good as the photos they put up on the site. It's gorgeous. - You get good value for the money - Service is generally excellent (few exceptions but whatever) - They deal with issues promptly - great omelettes and breakfast options - snack bar food is all brilliant - solid options for food at all meals, though not much variety - the coffee is BRILLIANT at the lobby bar and snack bar - the aqua [... read more] ballet was really fantastic Food Tip: - make sure to eat a lot of carbs or you'll get bloated (trust me, don't do a protein heavy diet here without balance or you'll suffer haha) Cons: - there were some cockroaches in the room (just don't leave your stuff on the floor and you'll be fine) - my girlfriend got food poisoning one night from some crab salad from the buffet, so stay away from the uncooked seafood (I ate a lot from the buffet grill sections and that seafood was fine) - a la carte's aren't really an upgrade from the buffet, they're just buffet items in a different location, so don't count on fine dining experiences - the beach is lovely but the ocean is super shallow so ocean swimming isn't really an option without an excursion - the dance shows in the theatre had some brilliant dancers, but also some not-so-brilliant ones so they were a bit weird and we skipped most of them. OVERALL: It was a great place to rest up and get a breather for the dollar value. There weren't a lot of activities, but we're pretty restful people anyways. We had a lovely time, but will probably be headed elsewhere in the future. Worth a try for the easy going!

Playa Pesquero: amazing and constant quality

it is my 5th time and always i come back refreshed and pampered!!! when i go, i know what to expect and quality standards are always maintained - the staff is friendly and discreet, beaches clean and even though the largest resort if you want peace and quiet you get it -

Grounds were lovely kept, rooms were nice and clean other then ceiling leaked like an open fawcett when it rained which it did for day and half, food was great if they could have kept the birds from eating out of same dishes I was eating out of, cats around tables while we were eating even in the ala carte restaurant and alot of walking to and from everything which would not have been a problem other then I had hurt my knee/leg and found it really difficult to get around and when I asked for car [... read more]t or trolley I was told it was broke or out of gas, so not bad, but I would not go back

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Very romantic

Wonderful time! Gorgeous resort! Amazing staff! Will be back on September. Loved it! Beautiful grounds, food definitely five star. Stayed in royal service will upgrade to ocean view next time, rainy days are spectacular on deck.

We enjoyed the whole week. Groundsare clean rooms as well. Foodwasgood Lots of variety. Staff went over and above. We were really happy to see lisandro the food and beverage manager. We originally met him in 2007 at sol Cayo largo and when we arrived we were surprised to see him working there. I recognized him immediately and he recognized us as well. Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Beautiful Beach

The variety of different locations to eat dinner. The restaurant on the beach served fresh fish and grilled chicken. The breakfast menu had a variety of eggs and plenty of fruit. The beach had plenty of shady spots to rest in the daytime.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great Value & Stay

Beautiful long beach. Lots of food choices & variety. Lots of fresh seafood and fruits. Grounds are clean &well maintained. Staff is very helpful. Out in the country, I don't know what is around the outside, but went scuba diving.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great vacation

Group of us (young 20's) all had a great week! Food was by far the best we've ever had in Cuba, staff were super friendly and rooms were clean. Beach is beautiful and the pool entertainment was a lot of fun as well.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Absolutely amazing

The beach was the best from all the places I have stayed at, the staff was wonderful always friendly and couldn't do enough to help you. The room was nice and big and always kept very clean and air conditioned worked well as very hot week as we stayed from Apr 21 to May 01. Food was great at all restaurants. Would hightly recommend this resort if you are looking for a quite and relaxing time. Will definetly go back. T

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: FINALLY FOUND MY GO TO RESORT!!!!

Club amigo had the best food, entertainment and beaches of ANYWHERE I've travelled to in Cuba. The food at Brisas (to the right of the resort) was better and you can buy a day pass for the buffet and sign up for an a la carte if you wish. Club amigos a la carte's were all very good especially the fish at El Fuerte? don't know how to spell it. I flew with Cubana Air and it was very smooth with a lot more leg room and comfier seats than Air Canada. We go to this hotel in Apr. as it is cheap then. We go to see the people we are trying to help with their homes etc. so that area is our choice.The front desk girls are not very friendly or helpful. There is a man there though that is great. The food is good and if all restaurants are open you have lots of variety. The main dining room is ok , but can get quite hot because they don't seem to turn on the AC.The hotel has been getting a little better over the last two years but still has lots to i [... read more]mprove on. Rooms are fine even in the oldest part. Of course some are very run down.The grounds are ok and quite large.Sometimes the beach is a little too crowded with locals and some seem to leave lots of garbage around.Overall if you get it cheap you get what you pay for, if you pay too much on trip then it is not worth it. We are not fussy and just need bed and shower so we get by.

Playa Pesquero: Tired Resort

I found this resort lacking. Not enough bathrooms on site, broken toilet roll holders, poor air conditioning, cockroaches in rooms. The Buffet food was overcooked and the foodstaff need to be inserviced in proper food handling. Many times saw serving spoons rinsed in water and wiped dry with hands. Servers were not happy and needed to be asked for water every time we dined. Liked the Italian Restaurant. Beach and Pool were lovely, great Animation staff and talented Entertainment team. 5th time to Cuba, this was the worst experience of them all.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: I will return....Great Resort!!!!

I just returned from my vacation on May 2, 2015. The Blau Costa Verde was a great resort and I would defiantly return. I was by myself and I felt completely safe. I stayed in block 28 and I loved my room. The food in the buffet was pretty much the same every night and there was a lot to choose from. The a la carte’s were delicious!!!! I walked the beach every day and it really is a great stretch of beach. They made fresh watermelon juice every day. The only suggestion I would make to any one traveling here is don’t forget your bug spray. I did and it was a big mistake. I am not sure if it was the time of year or that fact that the resort is surrounded by trees but I was the buffet for the Cuban mosquitos.

The grounds were kept clean and the rooms and restaurants were also clean and tidy. The people are very friendly and are very helpful if you have a problem. The pools and bars were fun to be in. There is lots of activity to take part in and enjoy if you wish. Have been there 3 times and hope to go back in the fall.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Boring resort

The resort was good value for the money I paid. I thought it was to big and you had to walk far everytime you wanted to go somewhere. The food was okay and the service the same. The resort was full with locals and french Canadians. So if you don't speak other languages you won't have many people to talk to.
