Starfish Cuatro Palmas: I can't wait to go back to this resort. Amazing entertainment.

Best hotel I've been to in Cuba and it's the 8th one I've tried. The entertainment crew (animadores) are amazing and so much fun, especially Josué, Ivan, David. I'll always return to this hotel from now on. The food, location, services is also all very good.

Barcelo Solymar: Worst resort

I came back very sick ( until now ). Bacteria in the water and food. There is no hot water in resort . Food every day the same . In cafeteria no ac that is why bacteria in food. When I buying calling card ( wifi ) for one person one $ 1 us dollar for someone else $3 us dollars. Everyone have different prices for the same thing, There is no disco or entertainment in resort . Stop lying on your website about disco or drinks international 24 hrs. doesn't exist. there is only beer after 22.00 [... read more]pm . only and only nice about this vacation was the beach and sand. for that money never ever will go again, We should be discounted for that vacation, worse vacation ever.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Very nice resort!

Me and my wife just returned from our vacation in Cuba. We stay at the Royalton Hicacos Varadero. Resorts classed as fife star and in our opinion is not better than any other 4 star resorts. Hotel and the whole facilities are clean with exceptional helpful staff who are more than happy to help you when you ask them. Beach is perfect , food just OK, like any other resorts we stay for the past 10 years. Grand Memories Varadero: Solo Female Traveller

First off, I had a great time in Varadero from Sept 20 to 27. Great time that I befriended lots of friendly Canadians. I am not at all impressed with the buffet in Grand Memories. I was ignored by the servers and they would wait on the tables around me, and not me. I had to look for them and ask for coffee and drinks. Wish they had coffee there, so I can just get it myself. I strongly recommend that place - good food and service. The Cuban a la carte had great service too but my friend got sick from the shrimp cocktail. The mayonnaise tasted funny and must have gone bad. The main lobby bar and the cafe place were great. I enjoyed their coffee and service there. I gave them tips and gifts for their service. My room was decent. I am sure that my bed sheets were changed once only. They also topped up the fridge once with a couple of pops. Doubt they ever swept the floor. I gave them gifts every day. Might be better if I upgraded to Diamond package or the Sanctuary. I have been to Cuba 6 times and had stayed in different resorts. For a 4 star resort, a 3 star resort scores better in all areas.

Melia Las Americas: resort impeccable

Emplacement très bien situé, les chambres très propre très belle ambiance , pour les golfeurs terrain paradisiac, les piscines très propre a proximité de la plage très propre et pour les restaurants très bien manger toute la semaine

Hotel Villa Cuba: Nice resort!

Some rooms are not renovated. Ground and beach are beautiful. Food is ok , maybe repetitive, especially nowdays you can feel crisis. Servis is ok, but they are missing a lot of stuff. Mostly of clients were from cuba , South America and Russia , so you will expect noise ,cigar butts and plastic cups allover the place. The worst thing is that SMOKING is allowed inside main building!!?

Grand Memories Varadero: It was dissapointing

The only thing I liked about this resort was how well the grounds were kept very dissatisfied regarding rooms flooded a few times because of air conditioner furniture was pretty bad we paid for upgrade but did not get it fridge was supposed to get filled everyday I only got water and a few pops the beer was only put I fridge a couple of times rest of week they didn't put the workers weren't that friendly with the exception of my maid Madie I will not return here

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort! Issues with Tipping

We had a really great time! Beach is great! Pools are lovely! Rooms are ok. I find the staff a little unfriendly if they are not tipped as often as they deem necessary. I also find them to be a little racist from my perspective. Other than that the hotel itself is really nice to stay. Food us awful as is everywhere in Cuba.

Palma Real: Good resort

It is a good resort situated close to everything. I have been a few times and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was okay and great deserts. Lots to do in the area also. The resort has several swimming pools and a snack bar as well as a few a-la-cart restaurants including Cuban and Italian foods.

Melia Las Antillas: A tired resort

The grounds were well cared for; the rooms not so much! I don't believe the rooms have been retro-fitted since the resort was built? 20yrs? The food was okay but just more of the same breakfast, lunch and dinner.Service was good, but unfortunately my wife was ill for most of our vacation. I needed ice for the water , which was all my wife consumed for the week. I had to walk from the hotel room to the lobby bar 3 times a day just so the ice bucket could be refilled; as there was no place to get  [... read more]ice unless you went to the bar. The beach was beautiful and clean. Our on call doctor Cecilia was wonderful, we could learn from Cuban medicine. This was our fourth time to Cuba, but unfortunately not our best vacation.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great Getaway!

Overall the resort is well kept and the staff are great. You will have a great time, if your looking to relax under the sun by the pool or ocean. Bring yourself a Bubba Mug and save yourself the multiple trips to the bar; as they only have smaller plastic cups. Also, make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen! :)

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Repeat Customer!!

My wife and I love this little adult only resort. (our kids are grown now, haha) It checks all the boxes for us. LOCATION: Downtown Varadero. SIZE: Smaller resort. SERVICE: All staff, amazing. CONDITION: Good, noticeable improvements. FOOD: Decent. BEACH: Amazing. These are my opinions. My advice, when choosing a resort, do your research! There are so many sources nowadays. Hotel Bella Costa: The hotel was okay.

Nice, impressive lobby. The staff was very friendly and courteous even with some of the tougher to please members of our group. There was 3 elevators but one never seemed to be in service. There was no out of service sign, it just seemed to not operate. We couldn't figure out the number of floors. The elevator had 7 floors plus the lobby but we only counted 5 from the outside. The patio was almost as big as the room. It had an awesome view of the ocean, palm trees and the pool. The only problem i encountered was the phone didn't work. I tried to call down to complain about the noise in the middle of the night, the phone was dead. The food sucked. It really had no flavour but that was all over Cuba. My rating would be 8* of 10

Hotel Villa Cuba: Amazing resort

We had been in Cuba five times and this was the 3rd time we chose this hotel , the beach is beautiful and all stuffs are very nice , we enjoy a lots to spent time in this resort ,we will come back again .

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Fantastic resort

Fantastic resort I would recommend this resort to anyone had a great time and the staff was well prepared and treated us like gold the food and the atmosphere was FantasticFirst time to Cuba and it will not be our last

Sol Palmeras: Good resort

Nice beach, nice pool, pretty clean room but older tiles and furniture, food not too my taste and every day the same, staff helpful but not so friendly.We went to enjoy the beach so it was good. Entrateinment was good. Starts at 10. Hotel close to the beach.

Barcelo Solymar: A great time!

Reviews look very mixed online, but in reality, it was a great trip! Food was good (for Cuba standards), hotel was good, activities were good, everyone was so friendly! Great location - close to Varadero town and 2 hours from Havana. Would definitely go to this resort again!

Club Kawama: A very poor resort.

When an old couple (75 yrs old) takes a two week vacation (all inclusive),is for rest and enjoyment. The management tried their hardest to accommodate us. They gave us a room half a mile away from the restaurant, the beach and all the other amenities. The room was very lively foul of mosquitos, flies, a mouse and I don't know what else. Apparently they said they had no other room available for the evening and we should contact them the next day. finally they gave us [... read more] a room just next to the pool. A very quiet room!!! The one thing it will be very hard to digest was that we had to buy our water daily. No telephones either. We had to go outside the resort to call our son upon our arrival. In all a very disappointing experience . Very rude reception and bar personnel. We are traveling to The island since 1985.This will be our most memorable trip ever.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: very dirty rooms

I stayed at Ocean El Patriarca arriving Sept.8, 2019 and departing Sept. 18. Firstly, the grounds are as usual beautifully well maintained and clean. The staff goes way beyond to make you happy. The concierges try their best. Our room in the privilege section was quite dirty. The walls were stained. The bathrooms were minimally cleaned the entire stay. There was mould outside the shower. We had to call maintenance to repair a leak from the shower head which would flood the bathroom flo [... read more]or. The towels in Cuba in general always have a nasty odour to them which is left on your body after you wash. The sink, tub and toilet were never cleaned. The same stains were there day after day. We used glasses to drink upon arrival and they stayed dirty until departure. I kept killing little black bugs in the room. Our fridge was not restocked daily and we had to chase water bottles almost on a daily basis as the person delivering water would only leave a bottle of water and no beer or soft drinks. We left a note asking for 2 bottles of water because we drink a lot of water and still quite often we only received 1 bottle. Our furniture had stuck on drips on the sides from previous clients covered in dust and mop remains.

From start to finish; staff, room & food, everything was amazing! The grounds are lush & gorgeous, the beach is beautiful & the pool ALWAYS clean & well maintained. Karl the food & bev mngr is beyond attentive & Hilda made sure every whim was satisfied with our room & stay. Highly recommended!!
