Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Diamond club snub

This hotel was fine.The food was good. The staff are diamond club snobby. So ridiculous they will not let you sit on the outdoor patio at buffet unless your diamond club. Total BS it’s the only buffet and it is so hot on the upper level. Due to this I would not consider returning. The beach is small and water rough.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Beautiful but...

This was a last minute trip for my wife and I and the price was great. We were in a garden view room but all of the rooms have some kind of view of the ocean and not many - if any - were on the beach facing the ocean so we felt good about that. It is a very large resort, but it was not that busy during our stay. The positive in that is that there were no large crowds, and it was easy to find a beach chair and a pool chair at any time of the day. The negative is that some of the restaurants were  [... read more]closed so we had only one option for breakfast and lunch... The buffets are really hit and miss; one day the food was just horrible. The lobby bar is fantastic and so is the Teppanyaki restaurant. The Mexican restaurant was not good at all but the Caribbean and steak restaurants were okay. There is no disco and the entertainment was not great. Communication on what was open, closed, and happening on the resort is very poor so it is a figure it out on your own type of place. The staff were lovely, welcoming, and accommodating. The beginning of November offered warm water and beautiful weather but there was a lot of seaweed washed up on the beach. They tried to keep it clean but it only took minutes for more to wash up. Not that big of a deal but it does shrink the beach a little cause very murky water. It was a very relaxing holiday all in all.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Unexpected (negative) surprise

Initial impressions were all good and resort had been refreshed since we were last there about 10 years ago. The unpleasant surprise came Friday afternoon when it became excessively crowded with 'locals' who came in for the weekend at a heavily discounted rate and there to party. Two plus days of crowded, noisy, and rudeness. For those of you that say 'good opportunity to mix with local culture', I'd argue that three days of unlimited booze and food is not a good sampling of 'local culture'.  [... read more] I enjoy meeting people and exploring other cultures but don't enjoy losing a third of my vacation to a frat party environment. Put a big damper on the trip and won't return to the resort.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Exactly what we looking for

The family and I needed some RandR and shea provided probably the best resort to support are needs. Food and beach TOP notch. Lazy river was PERFECT. 100% recommended resort and travel agent. Service at the resort was great room’s fantastic. The buffet was my family’s favourite no matter what time of day it was. Oh and the rum was delicious

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Perfect vacation

We just returned from Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar after 8 glorious days in Punta Cana. This resort recommendation from Veronica at Tripcentral was absolutely perfect. It is a great resort, super clean and luxurious. We had a great time and the weather was perfect each day. Highly recommend any of the Bahia resorts as they are well run and well designed. We felt safe and had all that we needed to have a good time. Their a la carte restaurants were really high quality. We could also access all the [... read more] a la carte restaurants at the connecting Bahia resorts and there is a shuttle service that runs all day and night to bring people all to the shared areas with each resort. It is a huge place and well organized and friendly staff. For our resort the beach is really close to the hotel rooms and lobby as compared to the others resorts that are part of the property. So beautiful and clean and well maintained. Rooms were exactly like the website photos and the cleaning staff were great. Very clean and well maintained resort. The food at the buffet was high quality, plentiful and varied. Great service all throughout. The water for the hotel for drinking and ice were all safe for guests and bottled. The tap water was not recommended to be consumed by non-DR residents as it can cause stomach problems. We had no issues. This part of Punta Cana was so beautiful and the beach was clean and well cared for. Great service for drinks on the beach. Also, Air Transat was fabulous to work with at the resort. Really helpful staff that helped to orient us when we arrived and the flights were great. We did one excursion that was really fun. We will definitely go back to another Bahia.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Resort Review

The hotel is beautiful, especially the lobby. The food was good as well as the entertainment and the entertainment staff. mike's cafe also amazing! While I never saw a cockroach in my room I saw about 5 outside on the walkways and one on my balcony. I've never seen one at a resort before so that was unsettling. The night with vendors, and the staff trying to get you to buy timeshares along with constant emails to purchase overpriced items was too much. We go on vacation to relax, not to be  [... read more]pestered and ripped off. We also called for toilet paper and were told they had none, had to get some from another guest. For those reasons we will not return.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Amazing trip

We just got back from an amazing vacation. This resort is definently a 5 star resort. From ck in Andreas was quick and fast and made sure our requests were meet. Getting into our room we found there was no crib as requested so I went back to the front desk. When I got back to the room 10 mins later it was there.. quick service. The room was very spacious, cleaned spotless with an adjoining room for my daughter and her family. The king bed was very comfortable with 10 pillows.. bathroom had Jacuz [... read more]zi tub, separate shower and separate toilet. On to the pool and pool bar. Juan is a number 1 bartender. He could mix anything. Our entertainment staff Asvaldo, Carlos, Luis and Joel kept us entertained for the week. They are so attentive to the kids. Picking them up playing with them and making them have fun. Buffet Luis Miguel should be serving in s high class restaurant he was amazing. The grounds are immaculate and the beach kept very clean. The Bahia Manager should be very proud of his property. I would rate this Bahia a ,6 star.. Also thank you Carol Mack from trip central for all your help in booking this awesome trip.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Couple vacation

Nice and clean resort with many a la carte restaurants and beautiful beach. There are four swimming pools, so it was always easy to find a place. There was a beach party one evening and there is always some sort of evening entertainment in the lobby and/or theater.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Best resort!

My husband and I just went to Royalton Bavaro for my 49th bday. We were in Block 15, in a swim up room. It was amazing to have a swim up room. The resort was clean, food was tasty and plentiful. Lots of options and lots of places to eat. The bartenders were busy at the beach bar but made sure everyone was served. For my birthday the staff decorated a private space at the steak restaurant where i chose to eat my dinner. They even put up balloons! The steak matched the Keg! We absolutely will come back to this resort!

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: The Trip from Hell!!!

Your booking number for this purchase is 22703854 We arrived at our resort on October 24th at 130 pm . We arrived at the check in desk of Ocean El Faro Adults Only Side at130 but our room was not ready until 430pm so we waited in the hotel lobby as requested and check back every 15minutes. Everyone else on our flight which was 28 couples were checked in at 130 to 2pm. Once in our room we had a bathroom sink leaking as the base needed to be recaulked and this took 24 hours, and 2 days later we w [... read more]oke up to our unit having several flood’s which I’ve included photos..there was a leak at the front entrance from the ceiling we filled a garbage can more than once throughout the night ….next we had the roof deck also flooded as the water from rainfall was going down the drain instead was going through the ceiling walls only to find out it was dripping on the middle of our King bed all night and our undergarments were soiled. We called a front desk once again and after several hours of speaking with reception and having them send workers to inspect and confirm the damage as they took pictures of all the damages they approved a room change to a smaller suite then what we initially had . Our original suite wasRm11307 and now we are in 16316. This took our entire day as we weren’t moved into the suite once the damages were confirmed at10am but we were moved at 4pm as they said no rooms were available even though we felt after all these issues we deserved the best suite the resort has to offer but that was not their mindset. Less than 24 hours of being in Rm 16316 we experienced another leak issue in our main bathroom and it was heavy leak coming through a electrical light receptacle. We used a trash can to collect the water and then informed the Front Desk. They sent service men to document and take pics of the damages and said we would receive a room change. We never heard back from the Front Desk and based on all the leaks we had experienced we also didn’t feel a room change would resolve anything. Also this leak totalled destroyed the bathroom ceiling as drywall and sediment was everywhere.At this point we were worn down and depleted so thought it best to remain calm and Collective . So in conclusion i want to reiterate that we received no room upgrades for any of these inconveniences but they did offer a late check out on Tuesday to compensate for check in mishap but we informed then that this wasn’t an offer that we could benefit from since our flight leaves At 230pm and we would Board the bus that morning at 10am. We were also offered a couple more alcarte restaurant options but we didn’t end up using them as the food was tastier in the main dining room. So we lost 2.5 days of our 7 day trip and had to relocate rooms and repack and not once did a senior or junior manager deal with any of our issues. We also notified in person our air canada rep who went by the name JC and he also Never responded to us on the early checkin fiasco. So now I’m looking for compensation as this is below standard customer service and no guest should ever be treated with a lack of respect and service as the above message clearly indicates the issues we suffered and endured. Occidental Caribe: Great food! good entertainment!

My wife and I really enjoyed the buffet. It had plenty of options and they changed every day. At times it got busy and it took just a few extra minutes to have our table cleaned, but nothing serious. In the buffet, Editania was very helpful and always greeted us with a great smile! We only went to one restaurant with a reservation, the Japanese tepanyakki table. Food was good, but it was very hot (no AC no ceiling fans). Based on that experience we didn't book other restaurants. Instead we we [... read more]nt back to the buffet during dinner which had large open areas with big fans and some breeze. The beach was absolutely beautiful.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: 5 stars across the board - amazing resort!

Hotel very well kept! Exceeded expectations overall! Clean and still looks new. We experienced exceptional personnel, from bus boy, front desk, bar tenders, hosts at restaurants, servers to housecleaning (Felipe was amazing at his job - he dealt with minor issues as soon as we brought it up to him). As far as I am concerned, this resort deserves 5 stars across the board - personnel, room, beach, food, accessibility, lazy river, pools, activities, value, etc.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great resort

The hotel was beautiful and the grounds lovely. The staff were very courteous and helpful. When concerns were raised by our fellow travellers they were quickly addressed. by the staff. My grandsons loved the Flow Rider. The staff at this place were extremely helpful to them and gave them great guidance. It was the hit of their stay at the Royalton.

We loved our stay, overall I have very little negative to say. Rooms: Bed was a little hard but room was very clean, beautiful and luxurious. Beach: Beautiful, sand was lovely. Always able to find a chair, staff helpful if you are looking for shadier spots. Staff available to serve drinks and there is a spot to grab food nearby. Watch out of beach vendors, they are pushy and if you don’t know your prices you can easily be fooled to spend more than at the shops in the village. Nono from buffet staff was always entertaining and kind. They have a butler desk with someone around any time for questions or issues! Entertainment: This resort is a little quieter at night but honestly it was good. They had an amazing saxophone player and every night they did have something going on but I know some of the other sites may have had a little more with a larger space/theatre. I believe it is in the Grand section. Overall, anyone should definitely visit, it was worth it!

My oldest daughter and I stayed on the adults only side. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. People always looking after the grounds especially after it rains or a windy day. Our room was very clean and modern looking with lots of closet space and beautiful decor. Food was great with good selection at buffet. Occidental Punta Cana: NOW OWNED BY BARCELO.TERRIBLE. CATERED TO LOCALS AND SPANISH SPEAKING.

I wrote a review on tripadvisor, but they didn't post it. Here is what we experienced and saw. We stayed here several years ago when it was a 5 star. It is owned by Barcelo now. I wouldn't even rate it more than a 3 star now. Several hundred locals came from Friday to Monday. The staff and management catered to them. Management set up a lovely welcome station for them with trays and trays of drinks. We were never offered that when we arrived. The garbage left all over the resort was unhealthy. T [... read more]he food presentation in the buffet was lovely, but the locals pushed in to the line and left food everywhere. The seating area was unclean and tables were unwashed and left with used cutlery on used place mats. The staff was disorganized and inefficient. I think they were so overwhelmed. A couple had sex in the pool. That's right. We complained to management but we were dismissed and he walked away. We were shocked at the treatment we received. We will return to the Dominican, but we will never stay there again or at any other Barcelo.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Honest

My mother and grandmother were at the resort last week. Resort is very nice food is great. One major complaint was my grandmother fell on a wet floor in the washroom by the pool, broke her arm in 2 places. Doctors said she may have to stay a few extra days before she could fly. Hotel wanted to charge her for the room and the airline also said it would have to charge her to change her flight because of medical reasons (air transat).

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Beautiful surroundings

Beautiful surroundings, fairly good service. Good food but came home sick on the plane with food poisoning. Not a happy ending. Would not go back. If you are the least bit afraid of the food, don't go it will ruin your holiday. AC in the room very substandard. Lots of mosquitos in the room. Wifi was terrible even after paying the premium.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Nice resort

Well kept grounds, great service in the Hideaway section, very friendly staff. Special shout out for excellent service to Oscar in the Dorado restaurant, Estrella at the Hideaway pool and Esthela our housekeeper
