Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Iberostar beach

This resort overall was very good. There is one buffet and 3 a la carte, the food is good with a wide variety, there is something for everyone. The beach is beautiful although if you don't want to be bothered by Jamaicans selling stuff, do not go early morning or after 5pm or so as that is when it seems they are allowed to be there...during the day you only see them at the ends of the beach resort past the pier, and after the grand resort. Rooms were clean and bed was quite comfortable, no p [... read more]roblems there. There are a few little shops, try not to forget the necessities like sunscreen, bug spray (is going on excursion). As quite expensive, I purchased a bottle or off bug spray for $20 us, gulp! And troat losanges for $12 us for a pack...although halls were ok price...

Riu Reggae: Riu Reggae

Very much enjoyed our holiday. It was our first visit to Jamaica. The staff at this resort stand out as exceptional. The service staff, the entertainment, the cleaning staff ( I have never experienced such immaculate pool side rest rooms) were what would make us return. The resort is attractive, though on the small side for what we are used to. For some this would be a plus. We really appreciate that you don't need to reserve for sit down restaurants!! Buffet had theme nights and was good on the occasions we ate there. One last note : we read reviews where people hated planes flying over- they do, however the short ride from the airport totally outweighs that for us!!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Excellent Vacation

Great vacation! The staff were very friendly,accommodation was modern and clean and the food/drinks were great. The beach area was sheltered from the waves and well marked to avoid deep or rocky areas. The pools had great swim up bars and the wait time wasn't too long at the bar. We appreciated that there were several security guards to stop locals from coming up onto beach and selling trinkets to the tourists. The Japanese teppanyaki was excellent! We had no issues whatsoever and they had plenty of staff at the airport/resort to ensure you had a good stay. One thing that the hotel could have done better was replace shampoo, soap, conditioner etc every day as opposed to upon request.

Riu Ocho Rios: Very good entertainment and food

The staff were excellent. Spending time with Sheldon playing horseshoes was awesome. The buildings themselves were a little dated, but comfortable with a colonial atmosphere. The food selection was excellent, particularly in the buffets and the steakhouse. The entertainment was fantastic, and was full of variety. The shows were something new and interesting every night.

Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Return customer

Quiet resort. Just what the doctor ordered. Service was great. Entertainment was great and varied Rooms were clean Grounds well manicured Friendly staff and very attentive We found that the food wasn't as varied as was last year. The only issue I had is the staff that aren't very generous when they are serving portions i.e. Roast beef or chicken. Very niggly

Secrets Wild Orchid: good resort. .

beaches very nice. clean place and good accommodation. Friendly staff. food was good, but we feel that they could improve with extra choices of the dishes. Also, the wine served was only from Chile and we expected a choice of wine, for e.g. California wines.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Amazing Holiday

The flight.....first time....was great. The Holiday Inn resort was a fun, clean and welcoming resort. We were greeted with drinks as we checked in and a porter took our things to our room. There was a safe which was great....No extra charge. The rooms were always cleaned daily and the beds were comfortable. Food was delicious and lots of it.....People who worked there were very nice and always took time out to chat. Lots of entertainment......Nice Pools and Beach area. Catalonia Montego Bay: Fantastic Holiday.....

The Holiday Inn Resort is a great resort to go to whether with family or couples. From the moment you enter, you are treated with Royalty. Fresh fruit punch welcomes you and a porter takes your luggage to your room. Beds are comfy are rooms are spacious. The hospitality is first and foremost at this resort, as well as other resorts I've had the honor of being a guest of, in the beautiful country. Dreams Rose Hall: Amazing Hotel! Great staff! Kids loved it!

Wonderful Hotel! Great staff! Great food! Lots to do! Amazing! We would go back in a heartbeat!!! Kids had a blast at the lazy river and waterslides! Beach was beautiful! Resort was spotlessly clean , grounds were beautiful. Rooms all have great views!

Mangos Boutique Beach Resort: Mangos Boutique Beach Resort - Jamaica

It is the first time that I have to write a negative review. Departure flight: Perfect. On time. The shuttle bus was supposed to drop us at the resort after a 40-45 minutes drive. Instead he went all the way to almost ochos Rios. Result we ended up with a bus ride of 2 hours instead of 40-45 minutes. When we finally arrived at our resort between 4:00-4:30, our room wasn't ready. We went to eat and went back 2 times at front desk. Still at 5:30 our room wasn't ready. Meanwhile I tried [... read more] to book for restaurant. No luck there either. Had to come back..... Our room was beach front. I think it was more like weed front. Our part of the beach was so not clean. The washed up weeds on our part of the beach were at one time about 1 feet high. The personnel at this resort is not well supervised and or trained. They don't know what there supposed to do. The bartender ladies one night were hiding behind the cooler so they wouldn't be seen by the costumers. Food was not terrible. Most of the time it was cold and let's say, no variety at all at the buffet. Buffet was always late to open. Not even the coffee in the morning. 25 minutes in the morning to get one egg­ ! Don't ask for a grilled cheese for breakfast... They don't do any special request at any time. You eat what is in the buffet and that is it. Room was ok. Simple and clean. It needs updating but still is OK. Everyday I had to ask the cleaning lady for something. Either she forgot to refill the coffee, the drinks in the fridge, the face cloth or to sweep the balcony floor. Pool: Water was murky. It's a good thing I prefer the ocean because I would not have gone in the pool. It didn't look clean at all. Forget about entertainment. It was almost non existent. No water sports equipment at all. The piano bar !!! Well after 7 days at the resort, I never saw it open. So if anybody knows where it was hiding, please let us know. Not much music other than at night. This resort is to my opinion no more than a 2.5, and advertised as a 3.5. I have been to a 3.5 in Jamaica 2 years ago and service, food, entertainment and everything else was perfect compared to this place. Result: Very disappointed. All 4 of us. The only perfect thing about this trip was the weather. Sunshine all over. And also There was this little bar on the beach after the 2 Royalton resorts. Rosie's Bar. Laid back, Canadian cold red stripe beer and a cool Blanco and Rosie for company. That is the Jamaica that I fell in love with. I would recommend if you still want to go to Mangos to pay no more then 1 000.$ all included. It is not worth more.

Couples Negril: Showing its age

Great beaches, great staff. Fun casino night!! Changes that are not so great: Having to sign up days ahead to go to a more elegant dinner or as informed get there early in the morning to guarantee an evening 2 days hence. Managed to only get there once in 7 days...not good since there is only 1 alternative option. Cannot/do not want to do a buffet supper/dinner. Stopped going to other resorts because of these limitations.

Sunscape Cove: Wonderful family vacation

The hotel offered excellent dinning choices and wonderful service. The hospitality was incredible and the list of activities were endless. Overall I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a family vacation that the whole family can enjoy

Secrets St James: Adults only resort

This resort was smaller than some of the others I've been to. Beach was the best in Montego Bay out of the four different resorts I've been to there. The room was lovely ,great location. Wonderful friendly staff,everywhere on resort. There was lots of dining options. However,my husband was disappointed as there was no dinner buffet I loved the outdoor entertainment stage. Great atmosphere

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Amazing hotel - look after every need and polite

The food was excellent. The beach was beautiful. So were the rooms. They did a lot of little extras that we didn't expect. We have been there three times and would go again. Its our favorite place. The weather is always warm and sunny.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great resort

The ground of this resort was very well kept. The food was excellent lots of choices. I found that there was a lot of entertainment each night! The room was really nice and large and they were well kept! Overall I would highly recommend this resort

Resort was clean and all staff were always friendly and helpful. Staff always made our kids special. Food was amazing. Steps away from the beach. Staff were prompt with all service requests - changing batteries in safe, extra towels and pillows etc.

Rooms on the Beach Negril: Great vacation - great people, great location and great memories!

This was our first non all inclusive vacation and we had a fantastic experience. We were assigned an ocean front room complete with wooden verandah and fridge just steps away from the beach which contributed to our pleasant experience. TRANSFER to hotel from MoBay - uneventful, stopped for rest break and beer (overpriced!) CHECK-IN/OUT: Quick, efficient - the agent was very personable and welcoming ROOM: comfortable bed but not enough pillows, our safe was missing the digital mechanism b [... read more]ut that was quickly rectified, our air conditioner worked well however was leaking - this was not rectified during our stay. Bring your own toiletries as you will only have those tiny bars of soap. The cleaning staff did an amazing job every day to keep the room clean. GYM: the temperature is not conducive to working out, it is stuffy and hot, the equipment is average - did not see many people using the facility STAFF: Amazing, everyone from the ground keeper to the manager far exceeded our expectations, everyone was happy to help and answer all of our questions - I observed the staff throughout the week and they always went out of their way to make everyone feel special. The manager Ms.Grant is an elegant woman who is very professional and you can tell takes pride in her role, her staff and the property. FOOD: Breakfast is included in the package - (hard boiled egg, variety of cold cereals, bread to toast yourself, choice of pastry and a few pieces of fruit plus coffee, tea and juices (every day it seemed like they ran out of coffee - we always bring our own so did not affect us personally). You can also order a bigger breakfast from the menu for a reasonable cost. We had lunch twice at the hotel and it was yummy and very reasonably priced. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, from street and beach vendors to 5 star restaurants, from Chinese, Italian, yummy jerk chicken to fusion foods - we never had a bad meal. BEACH: It does not get better than this - clear water, powdery beach, warm water - it's perfect and the sunsets are spectacular. VENDORS; 2 great pattie vendors on the beach - offering beef, chicken, shrimp, veggie and pumpkin patties - regular or hot - the best!!! Also vendors with real fruits, other treats and merchandise. Did not encounter any issues or harassment from anyone - except for a lobster vendor on the beach - he is located to the right of Rooms, right before the sign (Wake and Bake!). You will note his lobsters in a cage in the ocean - we will try to rip you off and then intimidate you. He quoted us $20 for 3 lobsters and when we were ready to go, he said $60, we walked away and he followed us swearing and yelling all the way and threatening that he would make our vacation hell. STAY AWAY from him, he is a tall skinny man - do not give him your business. MUSIC: always a spot where you can get live entertainment or even jam with the locals. We will return!!

Jewel Paradise Cove: Paradise

We spent a wonderful week at Jewel Paradise Cove. We were here in 2012 when it was the Royal Decameron Fun Carribean. We loved it then so we knew with the upgrades it was a win win. The resort is small and that is something my husband and I look for in a resort. The food is fabulous. The staff are fabulous, the grounds are fabulous. Catalonia Montego Bay: Great Resort

Went to Jamaica for the first time and stayed at this resort. The resort is a little older but kept in great shape. The staff was very accommodating and I thought the food was great. We go to Cuba often so food isn't top priority to us but found the food here to be very comparable to food here at home and there were enough buffet choices. The buffet wasn't huge but you could always find something to eat. The beach was nice but not a beach that you can take a long stroll on as it's broken up into [... read more] sections. It was kept clean and they would have some service on the beach for drink orders which was great. Our room was standard and always clean. I loved the fact that everyone spoke English so easy to communicate. Didn't realize how much I would enjoy this as we are used to going places where their first language is Spanish. All in all had a fabulous vacation in Jamaica and we will definitely go back again.

Coco La Palm: Friendly

Great trip Great place to relax the beach is great and the over all service is good. Newer rooms are clean and comfortable. Management is very accommodating and friendly. We have stayed there many times and will be going back.
