El Dorado Royale: Beautiful Resort

We loved this resort, the grounds are amazing and loved all the pools and water everywhere. The only disappointment was all the uncharges, I had a massage that was great, but after paying double what I would pay at home they scented massage oil was an uncharge... should have been included. This happened in all areas, food and drink etc.

The Sens Riviera: Crowded and exclusionary

Arrived at the property in the late evening and was not offered a welcome drink and hot towel that was included at check in. Was given a room in Dino land that was a mile away from the ocean. However we did get a room change so that was nice. My main concern and reason why I will not recommend or return to this resort is that when yousee the photos and read the package description has it included 5 pools and and use of the beach. When we arrived we were told that we could not use the bulk of th [... read more]e hotel because we were not sunclub members ($100 pn extra) so we could use 1 pool and be on a small portion of beach. So this being high season you need to be up at dawn to find a spot on the beach let alone the pool. All the buildings are glassed in do there is no breeze. Asked the bartender for a bottle of water . Bar tender poured me a glass of water and said the bottle water was for sunclub only. Lints of signs sunclub only it’s crazy.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: The resort is amazing exactly how we expected

No complaints about anything. The resort is amazing the people are friendly, the food was great. The beach is nice but a little crowded and noisy for me. But this can’t be avoided especially when this noise was made by the tourists and the hotel cannot do anything.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Beautiful resort with a very relaxing atmosphere

The resort grounds were beautiful and so were the rooms although I did find the layout including a tub in the middle of the room a little odd. Loved the shower with the big rain shower heads. We didn't have any plumbing issues which is a first for a southern/carribean resort. The bed was very comfortable. The balcony was nice and big and the doors were very sound proof which I appreciated. The only negative thing I can really say is the food at the buffet restaurant wasn't that great. However [... read more], the Italian and the Asian restaurants were amazing. Men need to wear pants in the restaurants though so don't forget to pack them. Overall I loved how quiet and relaxing the resort was. No loud music thumping all day long. If you wanted action you just went next door to the sister resort - that's where all the noise was lol I loved the beach and the area and we saw lots of wildlife including coatis, wild boar, deer, lots of birds and iguanas and even monkeys! It was a lovely vacation - we didn't want to leave.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Our Mayan Riviera Trip

Public areas and grounds were very well kept - pleasing to the eye and clean. Buffet was very good. There were a multitude of options for evening dining - all of which were very good. All staff were very courteous and helpful. Our room was large and spacious but could have been better maintained. House cleaning varied each day - sometimes four towels, then two... Facecloths one day then none... Bar soap then none... Even though we tipped, service didn't improve... The room itself had [... read more] a musty smell, as did the pillows and cloth cushions. The resort tried to address then offered a move. Looking back, we should have asked for a second or third floor room. It probably would have offered more air flow... Highly recommend the Ek Balam and cenote tour. It was a highlight with no crowds. Out TripCentral tour agent was excellent. SunWing rerouted our bags so they arrived late in the day after we arrived to the resort. Since bags are to travel with their owners, and we paid extra for priority status, this did not make sense. We were not told at the site of our departure only when we arrived in Mexico. Return home was delayed by 3 hours. Sunwing could have advised our hotel and changed our pickup time.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Fantastic Vacation

We have just returned from a fantastic week at the BP SK. For us we found the place relaxing and very enjoyable. Keep in mind that this resort is not for everyone. The resort is located away from the beach and you have to take a trolly to the beach. No big deal for us. We found it relaxing to return to the quiet after a day on the beach. The Beach is fantastic and there is no reserving of chairs. We never has a problem finding a decent spot no matter what time we arrived. The rooms are a little  [... read more]tired and dated and could use a refresh but the room was very clean. The service and the people are what make this place great. All the staff work very hard to tend to your every need. The food is very good. Never had a bad meal at any of the restaurants or the buffet. We did eat at the buffet at the Ackumal while on the beach and had mixed experiences. It was very busy all the time and they kept running out of things and were not quick to replace them. Overall if you are looking for a budget friendly, nice clean resort where the service fantastic, this place will deliver. We will return.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Perfect resort, perfect vacation!

Azul Beach Resort is the perfect resort get away. We had an amazing time with a group of 10 friends and cannot say enough about the atmosphere, rooms, food and service. It all exceeded our expectations and I would absolutely consider going back to this resort again.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Awesome Resort !!

We were there from Feb 5-12 and had the best time with Friends and Family !! Food was the best we have had !! Rooms were spacious and clean, and the grounds and pool were kept clean and tidy ! We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone !

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Not a golfer, but this was a hole-in-FUN

Well, technically it was relaxing than fun, but gotta love the wordplay :) On the plus side, it was beautiful, well serviced, food was good, and the entertainment was surprisingly quite talented. The silent disco was definitely a highlight. And the rooftop Jacuzzi was well worth the extra cost. Never an issue getting a chair at the pool (on the adult only side) although this was apparently low-season. TIP- Ensure to call your concierge/butler to arrange the tub to be filled, and of cour [... read more]se ask for bubbles. On the downside, the website/app didn't always have the correct info about the entertainment/location, and with the trams/golf cart routes take a bit of getting used to, we missed the Circus show :( This issue is also compounded by the booking of the a la carte restaurants, which if you book when you get there, you're already too late. We could only get essentially the 5:30 or 9:30. TIP - Book these before getting there. Or if you have a late booking, show up early to see if it's possible to start earlier (might be no shows, etc.)

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Good Resort, lots to do , February is a great time to go

Grounds were well kept. Food at the Buffet was plentiful, great variety, always hot. We went to the Steak Restaurant, food was cold, steak was tough, the Italian Restaurant, not dishes we would eat more like a sampling than a dinner, however Route66, the Japanese Restaurant and the Buffet were fantastic. Nighttime shows were good. Lots to eat and drink. Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Amazing!

Second time at this hotel. We stayed at the palace the first time and the tropical this time. I liked the tropical better because it’s central! So much to do here! Loved the dolphins and the zip lining

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Absolutely perfect

This hotel is perfect. We were there with 5 children and they were never bored. There is so much to do at this resort you really don’t have to leave. We went zip lining and it was a great course! The staff are friendly and the food is terrific. Truly not one thing I can complain about!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Beautiful Resort

We found the resort to be one of the best we have been to. The grounds were well looked after. Rooms were large and modern. Lots to do from ocean, lazy river, pool and seeing the beautiful dolphins. Food and bar service was great. Miguel who served in the buffet room was an amazing server who looked after us at breakfast everyday. It was our pleasure to tip everyday our person who cleaned our room, all the servers who looked after us daily for food and drinks.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Perfect For a Quick Break

The Hilton Playa Del Carmen was great for a 5 day getaway. The rooms are spacious, the food delicious, and the staff helpful. The main lobby is a stunning place to arrive to. Some things to keep in mind: there is daytime entertainment at the main pool (close to the ocean) and there will likely be weddings at the gazebo, again close to the ocean. This means rooms close to these spots will be noisy. At the back of the hotel, you'll be on the town side where you will hear the music from the bars u [... read more]ntil about 2 or 3am. The key to quiet is the middle of the hotel away from the main pool. The beach at the resort is public: there are people selling bags, hats, shows, mango, etc and then hotel staff are selling spa treatments. A polite "no thanks" is sufficient if you're not interested. Cabanas are usually 'claimed' by 10am. The waves are often quite strong here and there are rocks on the sea floor for much of the Hilton's space. A few steps to the left gets you to the sandy sea floor. The ferry to Cozumel is on the right of the beachfront but caused no issues (no horns or diesel smell). There is daytime entertainment that seems directed at a somewhat younger audience than the average age. Nighttime shows are a little more Vegas-y. We were always able to walk into a restaurant - no reservations or waiting required. The WestJet Vacations transfer had the Hilton as the last stop of 4 which meant with a 1:45pm arrival in Cancun, we didn't get to the hotel till 5:30pm. On the way back to Cancun, we were the 1st of 2 pickups, so it was much faster.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Amazing resort

This was the cleanest resort I’ve ever been to! Every night they tore apart the restaurants and cleaned EVERYTHING! They were constantly cleaning floors everywhere and the place just sparkled. The staff was all very friendly and although they could have used an extra bartender at every bar we visited, the service was friendly and fast enough to keep us happy. They do not cater to large groups (we were 10). They would tell us that they could not accommodate us all, and then when we split up and went at our given time we would find many tables empty so that they could have definitely fit us all in. That was the only frustration of the trip. The buffet was great for buffet food.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Nice Accommodations

Overall the hotel was good. The rooms were nice and clean and the food was great. The service at the bars was pretty slow but there was 7 weddings during the week. The only other thing to remember to take would be a pair of water shoes for the ocean as there is lots of coral patch’s which will do a number on your feet. Great place to go for family’s with small kids and teens.

The minute you step into the reception area you start to get glimpses of what is to come. This resort has the space to enjoy some quiet time and at the same time so many amenities that you will not know what to do first. There simply are not enough stars available to properly rate this property.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing vacation!

This was our 3rd time to the GBP Tulum. Everything was just as good as we remembered. The pools and beach have plenty of loungers. The grounds are impeccably kept. The staff are so friendly. Our room was cleaned 1st thing each morning. The food was delicious and plenty to choose from at the buffet. My hubby is a picky eater so when he says he likes the food you know it’s good. We can’t wait to go back again next year!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: A resort

My husband I went from Feb 2 to Feb 14th. We were pleased with the service of this resort. The only thing I can say I was soooo disappointed in was the location of our room. It was ground level and by an entrance and it was so busy and noisy at all times at night. Room 6120 is a room to avoid, we had no privacy and our patio doors look out onto a busy path and really no garden view. I will not go back there for that reason. This was our first holiday in years and we booked early. We talked to pe [... read more]ople who booked last minute and got great second and third floor rooms with some kind of views and did not have to keep the curtains closed at all times, and paid less. Besides that it was a nice place, very big, clean and lots of walking, which is not a bad thing. The beach was not very nice when we arrived full of weeds, but a week later they had it all cleaned up and it looked pretty decent. The staff at Blue Bay were great, helpful and very courteous. Food was a good too, the buffets offered many different kinds of food and the A la carte were good too. we really enjoyed the Steakhouse and Mexican nights, we could not get into the French dining. The other thing was people stealing beach chairs to put by the pool area, we saw a man take someones beach chair with all there stuff tied to it, so he could be by the pool. Our last 2 days were kinda spoiled by arrogant, selfish, loud and obnoxious french people, I assumed from Quebec, because there french was more slang. They also thought the world revolved around them, taking extra chairs just put their bags on, while people were looking for beach chairs to sit on. One couple even took 2 chairs from the beach and put it by the pool area and then had the nerve to reserve 2 chairs on the beach. Beware of the stores on the premises, they charge almost 4 times more than going into town. We recommend you bring extra suntan lotion, bandages( for blisters for all the walking) They charge everything in American dollars or Mexican Peso equivalent. We met lots of great people as well and made some good friends too. So if you like large resorts this a good one.
