Ocean Blue and Sand: Great trip!

Recently stayed at this resort with my soon to be wife. Met some family there. The room we were first in was an older room, hadn't had any renovations as of yet. The A/C did not work which made it hard to sleep. After some talking with the staff we were put in to an amazing room and they were very accommidating. The food and enteratin were very good and pools were fantastic. The beach suffered from storms but didn't seem to affect the 10 days there. Great place to relax and enjoy good company!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Relaxing Week

We were asked to do a quick review of the Esmerelda .. we travelled on March 6th before any of the Covid 19 restrictions were put in place. . The Grounds were quite beautiful and well looked after. The buffets and Al la Carte Restaurants were very good. We liked that they had hand sanitizer at the entrance of the buffets and restaurants and made people use it before entering. Our room was spacious and clean. .. the negatives.. There were Resort reps who pestered us on a daily basis to join  [... read more]them on “a tour” of the privileged section. They do not take No Very easily ..that was not an enjoyable part of our stay. ..as well..our patio sliding door would not lock and we couldn’t seem to get anyone to agree to a time to fix it so we did stay in the room for 4 nights without being able to lock the door. We were very surprised about the amount of children at the Esmeralda. Not that it was a deal breaker but we decided to upgrade to the Amber Swim up room for our last 3 nights which was reasonable and so worth it .. the All adult “Amber side”was new , quiet and like a different world over there .. our room was modern and fresh and so nice. The room key was incorporated in your wrist bracelet which was pretty convenient. Our weather for the week at the beach was not the best so we certainly made good use of the deck and pool in our swim up room . All in all we had a nice week .. we would recommend the Amber Adult resort but prob wouldn’t recommend the Esmeralda for couples but for families it would be perfect.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: great resort

We had a great time at this resort. Nice and small with great food. Staff was excellent, pool great as well as beach. Nicely renovated and clean. Coffee shop was a nice touch. Not a lot of entertainment. We will be back.

Excellence El Carmen: ok resort

the room was very nice, however we spent the money to upgrade to the swim up room and we were very disappointed. The pool was only skimmed it was not cleaned once for the week we were there. The build up was noticeable and tile was in rough shape. We had maintenance come to fix the deck outside the door because of the dip in it. Also had to have them fix the front door because it wouldn't lock unless you pulled it tight.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Good resort

The rooms were clean and air conditioning was cold. The grounds were well kept. You can tell that this resort is getting older but it is well maintained. The pool is awesome but it can be difficult to get a lounger at times. The beach is great but the swimming area is not. It has tons of rocks and you have to be very careful where you walk. The area is also small and if your into snorkeling the water has a lot of suspended sand in it and it is difficult to see under water at times. There is lots [... read more] of restaurants and there serve good food. For the most part it's not too difficult to get into the a la cartes and your just walk up, no reservations. The kids club is awesome and my son loved it. Theres a preferred club at this resort and they try to get a bunch of extra money out of you as soon as you get there. I don't like resorts with this kind of system as I don't like feeling like a second class citizen at a resort and I wouldn't return or recommend this resort simply because of this. Overall I enjoyed my time there but I will not be returning.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Second time visiting, just as we remembered.....AWESOME!

It was exactly if not better than we remembered from our trip in December 2017. This resort has to have the best staff of any that we have visited. The food is great, rooms were fabulous (especially the beds) and drinks plentiful. The staff is outstanding in every area that you visit. The ones in the restaurant are attentive, the activity staff friendly and the bar staff there when you need them. The airport transfer is about 15 minutes away...another selling point. Beautiful golf course attached which is challenging to most. Will we go back...… definitely!

Sanctuary Cap Cana Luxury Collection Adults Resort: Beautiful Resort

We are so thankful we stayed at Sanctuary Cap Cana. The resort was filled with beauty! They accommodated our requests most of the time and helped us with every detail. The food was excellent, the rooms were huge and comfortable. We had an amazing view of the ocean. Thank you.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Mediocre at best

The night we arrived, they placed Julie and myself in section 1700 which was about a mile from the main buffet...Julie is disabled and I have bursitis in my hip. They next day we requested a closer room and the DOWNGRADED US to section 5. The room only had 1 chair on the balconey and it took over 2 days and 5 requests from different people (We finally ended up talking to a manager of the hotel and our Sunwing Rep) before we got results. Because of Julie's neck surgery we requested a firm and  [... read more]a soft pillow (which was supposed to be part of the pillow service) and that took over 2 days. We ate at the Lobster restaurant first night and they wanted us to pay for a lobster. The next night was the Japanese Restaurant and I can't describe what they considered to be Japanese food. For my birthday we went to the Steak House (where they wanted us to pay for the steak) so I ordered a filet mignon from the menu (free) and they burnt the outside and provided a baked?? potato with no butter. The main buffet was the best food at the resort mainly because I could skim the grease by taking from the top of the food. We had numerous communications problems with nearly ALL the people who worked at the resort. In closure, we will NEVER go back to that resort. The problems we had are too numerous to list and I will be sending a letter to Sunwing requesting compensation for the extremely bad service we received at this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Awesome resort

Beautiful grounds. Excellent service. Great food in the buffet and a la crate restaurants. Beautiful white sandy beach. Beach can be somewhat crowded. Large pool area with enough loungers for everyone. Will definitely return!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: AMAZING

All areas of this resort are clean and beautiful. Fun at the pool, breathtaking beach. Plenty of places to eat, great coffee shop. Very comfy rooms with plenty of storage. We would very much like to go again.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Perfect Holiday!

My husband and I loved this resort. It was clean, the staff were accommodating and kind. The beach was absolutely stunning as well. I would highly recommend this resort. There was always something to do whether in the Bahia village or right there at the lobby or pool. We highly recommend the French restaurant (El Olivio I believe). It was delicious. This resort was top notch and we would definitely go back!

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Super resort

Les chambres sont super et l’ambiance est top ;) de la musique partout. Des bon groupe de musique live tout les soirs. Le moon bar beaucoup d’ambiance et merci au service des serveurs qui ont vraiment les clients a coeur qui nous a trouvé du greygoose a tout les soirs ;)

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Great beach! Good friendly staff!

The hotel is in a swamp area so bring bug spray!! While there we got eaten alive by sand fleas - I had to take allergy medication cause the itch was so intense! Rooms also had mosquitoes. No central place to hang out and chill other than the lobby, would be good if there was a lounge area with TVs and games room for those rainy days! Would be nice to have wifi throughout the hotel other than in the lobby area. Tried most of the a la cartes with the exception of the Italian restaurant. The food i [... read more]n the Dominican, and Mexican was good. The Brazilian had potential however almost all if the meats served were undercooked including the chicken, fish and pork. Otherwise, this hotel is good for a cheap cheerful getaway - just dont go with high expectations - you pay for what you get. All staff we encountered were very hard working and friendly - especially Audelina and Artiris in the main dining room. Francis and Wally at the beach bar were fabulous and made the best Mai Tai's.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Clean resort

I found the hotel was very clean, the grounds, rooms. The beach was beautiful large area. The only issue I had was the buffet. It was not designed well at all. The food was mostly cold, when there was pancakes/ French toast there was no maple syrup.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Excellent resort - would definitely return!!

Stayed in the Royal side of the resort, which was Adults only. Upgraded to the Privilege Deluxe romance room, in Block 36, which appears newly renovated. Room was one of the nicest we've stayed in across 8 visits to the Caribbean. Only issues was the thermostat seemed a bit flaky, and the room would get REALLY cold - had to manually turn it on and off. Spent most of our time around the infinity pool, which was quiet, close to the beach, and right next to the Sea blue restaurant, which was great  [... read more]for breakfast and lunch. Food was great for Dominican standards, but you had to get in to the a la cartes early, otherwise it could be a long wait(1 hr+). No reservations for any of the a la cartes. Have to get to the pools early (before 7:30) if you wanted a chair or a bed - They advertise that no reserving chairs allowed, but it is not enforced, and everyone is out early to throw their towel on a chair. Aside from the room, we noticed no benefit to having the Privilege upgrade. Only the "Exclusive" members get any perks, which are basically higher-grade drinks and some extra menus options. Beautiful beaches, and they do their best to battle the seaweed, but can't fault them for that. Resort is super-close to the airport, and was only a 15 minute transfer, which was nice. Same local people on the beach all week trying to sell coconuts and massage/spa treatments, but easily ignored. Same with the staff in the lobby trying to sell the exclusive package. Also easily ignored. Overall, a great trip, and would return. The other 'family-friendly' side of the resort was nice as well, but not a while lot for kids to do aside from the pool and beach. Would not recommend for family trip, as other resorts have much more to offer for kids.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Fantastic time again at Majestic Mirage!

Karol at Trip Central provided great service for our Punta Cana trip. This was our second stay at Majestic Mirage, Mirage Club and our 5th stay at Majestic in Punta Cana. This resort is immaculate with amazing service and happy employees. We were able to have the same butler we had last year (Elvis) and even the same room overlooking the pool and ocean. Elvis helped us with our room booking, and our dinner reservations at the hotel and was very attentive. We will be back next year!

Riu Republica: Good

Pretty big resort, lots to do! Definitely fun and entertaining. Loved the beach it was clean and the water was nice to swim in. Food was okay, the Al a carts were actually buffets and were okay. Overall really nice place and friendly staff, clean resort.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Nice Resort

This resort is very nice! We love the layout. We were in the new family section. It was easy to get around to the different pools, the beach, lobby and restaurant area. We don't mind walking a bit, but everything is close by. The rooms were beautiful. We had an issue with the air conditioning in the room. We couldn't lower it to a comfortable temperature. Once I contacted the concierge they sent someone to fix. The resort was very clean. We enjoyed the activities at the pool. The kids loved t [... read more]he family pool with the slides and lazy river. One complaint we have is the buffet (breakfast/lunch). The food most often wasn't warm/hot, often there were no nachos. There are no french fries at the buffet, you can find some at the beach grill, where there was often a wait to get some. The restaurants were good. If someone would ask me about this resort, I would recommend the Now Larimar before the Onyx just because the buffet was excellent at the Larimar. Please not we couldn't enjoy the buffets or restaurant at Breathless because we had a child.

Tropical Deluxe Princess: nice resort

the room was good a little old one day i saw a small lizard in the room and bugs in the fridge which startled me the food was good we mostly ate at the buffet one we went to el pilo restaurant food was awful we mostly stuck to the buffet occasionally ate at snack bar pools were good the beach nice show once they renovate this resort i will go as i hear they will renovate between may to dec 2020

Excellence Punta Cana: Suites are disappointing...not deserving of an upscale resort

The people are warm and hospitable. The weather and beaches are superb. But the suites are old, outdated. No night tables. We paid extra for the Honeymoon suite. Not a single drawer to store your clothing...no clothing hooks, no towel bars, just holes where they used to be, room service but no tables large enough to hold two plates. The shower was old and flooded immediately, drains clogged. We had to wait an hour between showers to let the water drain. The jacuzzi tub shot out rust and dirt...e [... read more]ven after it was repaired several times during our stay.The sofa was covered with a slip cover...something cheap and disgusting. We spent much of our time calling for repairs. Very disappointing.
