Playa Pesquero: Wonderful Family Holiday

This resort did not disappoint. The beach was perfect - a somewhat sheltered bay with sandy beach and some rocky areas to snorkel. Hobe Cats and Pedal Boats were great! Hotel was well maintained and staff were wonderful. Grandkids (14-5 yrs) loved the sports area, ice cream hut, and 24hr snack bar (especially the cheese balls). It is Cuba - so if you are picky about food - bring your own condiments and necessities. Staff did a wonderful job of offering as much variety as they could with what th [... read more]ey have available. If you drink gin and tonic - bring your own. Worst part of vacation was rude guests who felt they were more important than anyone else, and thought they should be able to get everything they could at home! By far this is the best resort we have stayed at in Cuba in our 6 visits. Bring bug spray - you don't see them but they leave itchy bites, and a face cloth or loofah. Daughter & Son brought instant oatmeal (without milk) for one picky eater and peanut butter for another. If you like 'snack foods' and 'candy' bring those as well. Massage was worth the money!! One area of improvement would be Theatre Shows - other resorts have had better shows.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort❤️

I absolutely love this hotel, and the service, the whole stuff of the hotel absolutely amazing! Very relaxing, but then again, there’s so much fun with entertainment crew the DJ they’re all trying to make the holiday as fun as possible…the SPA facility is absolutely paradise, the whole crew, very friendly and welcoming!

Positive: have been several times so familiar with resort; staff very friendly; very close to the airport; is a small adult only resort; could always find lounge chairs by pool and beach; beach and water are absolutely beautiful. Negatives: getting very dated and tired; room towels greyish and worn; food was not good which I guess is understandable given food chain disruption: often no white wine or sparkling: limited tropical drinks; water pressure is very very poor for baths and toilet

Playa Pesquero: Great Vacation

The property is on a beautiful beach, has a large maintained pool with areas for a quieter poolside or closer to activities and bar. Gym, sports area, spa, clinic, stores, hair/nail salon, cigar bar & bank onsite (I’m forgetting all the amenities). The staff are phenomenal and there’s always some sort of programming going on. Food is plentiful and good. Buffet has lots of ingredients that vary based on season and availability but not a lot of packaged food/seasonings so if you are particu [... read more]lar bring a bottle of sauce, or syrup for pancakes if you have kids, and leave it with the staff when you checkout. There is a 24 hour snack bar as well as restaurants, many open for lunch but require dinner reservations. Bring some small bills and loonie/toonies if you want to tip, staff will be looking to trade in their coins for larger crisp bills for use at their bank. Overall we had a great vacation, I would definitely return.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice Resort - but….

Grounds have huge potential. It was being worked on as we were there but when we arrived, grass was long and sea weed that was piled in small mounds on the beach needed to be scooped up and sand groomed. Room in Building 6 (yellow stucco) was fine and always clean. Gifts were appreciated by all. Next time I’ll have more for gardeners. Great work ethic in 28 degree weather. 🌞

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Iberostar Laguna Azul

The food was surprisingly good. Excellent service. No shortage on liquor there, Lots of beer, wine ,rum, vodka, and tequila. Lots of entertainment and music in the evening. We would return again as a repeat customer.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing beaches

Thanks to our very helpful travel agent Eliana Anton at Tripcentral, we enjoyed again our recently stay in Iberostar Ensenachos resort. People who work there are so friendly and helpful. I want to mention Yunely and Ariel at the Ensenachos beach. Yunely is such a great human being, a hard working guy who makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. He will go above and beyond to accommodate anything without even us asking. Very pleased with his service. We loved his fancy drinks, kids enjoyed it [... read more] as well, specially his amazing personality. A shout out to the receptionist I don't remember her name, a young lady who will offer her help whenever she sees us at the lobby. She will remember our room's number too.

Grand Memories Varadero: Five star experience!!

The staff, the entertainment and even the food was great during our stay! Yes the rooms a little dated, but other than sleeping, we weren't in the rooms. Our family had a blast the entire stay! Julio (the show man) was our favourite! We never knew from day to day how he would dress up and we have many pictures with him! We definitely will return to this resort!!

I only have issues with the food and the fact that there was no SPRITE OR 7UP or anything similar to replace it. You replaced Coke with a cola, do the same with Sprite. Everything else was great. The beach was fantastic as was the pool.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great hotel & vacation resort

Paradisus Rio D'Oro in Holguin is a great hotel. Grounds are clean, tropical and safe, with a lovely beach. The staff are excellent, service always good. No bugs, beggars or hawkers. This area is very safe. The pools are lovely, clean and relaxing. We stayed in Royal Service and the upgrade was nice- private pool, beach, restaurants. Butler service and special perks were nice- but it is an expensive upgrade. Food was always available but shortages do occur ( we were never hungry!). Bacon & egg [... read more]s for breakfast, burgers & pizza for lunch, buffet always had grilled fish and a pasta bar. Bars were well stocked and service was always prompt. Note- We are not "foodies" but several guests were disappointed in the lack of variety of food available- the shortages are a concern in Cuba.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: AMAZING RESORT ALTHOUGH FIRST DAY WAS SCARY

Our stay last Nov.25 to Dec. 1 was very memorable. Day 1 was nightmare because after the afternoon chill in the pool, my son and pregnant wife got injured. The bathroom tempered glass of our hotel room shattered when they took shower. Blood was everywhere. They were whisked by ambulance at 7:00 PM to the nearest hospital in Moron which is 1 hour 30 minutes one way trip. My son got 5 stitches on his left foot and my wife's right hand got bandaged plus ultrasound to check if the baby she's carryi [... read more]ng was alright. We got back 1:30AM. Hotel shouldered the bills and we were upgraded to their best suite. Sea healed their wounds quickly and the rest of the days went great. Our enjoyment was not really 100% due the incident but we are willing to come back to enjoy 100%. We missed to do other stuffs like dolphins. lobster dining in Sendero(there was no available lobster that time) and more beach fun. My wife will be having her baby by February. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful time at Grand Aston

The rooms were quite nice being a new build everything was quite nice. The beach was great and the staff kind and attentive. We had a tough time with food the first few days we were there but found some great food at the beach bar. They have a nice paella. And often have fresh fish which helped.so having a good lunch helped. The coffee from the bar and the little cafe were very good. They were having a hard time getting thing in like eggs and such. The pools were very nice the action team tried very hard! The circus show was quite good other wise the entertainment was ok. If you want a relaxing low keyed vacation this is a good resort. If you want great meals and lots of action perhaps not this place. Over all a good vacation

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

The resort is older but we had no problems. We always had hot water, the food was good and the drinks were very good. The beach is amazing. The bugs were a little annoying but they are like that everywhere in Cuba right now.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: No Food

The resort was beautiful including the pools and beach however......there is no food at this resort. No eggs, no fresh fruit (canned fruit only), no fresh vegetables, no salad, no pop, no hamburgers, no french fries, no Gin and no ground beef for any other "hot dish". My husband and I definitely lost weight staying at this resort. Also there were days there were no buns for the hot dogs if you dared to even try the hot dogs. The cold meats offered were very limited and a very strange colour [... read more] of gray. The pasta station has very limited offerings (mainly cut-up bacon, weiners or ham) and the cook uses the same pan to cook in throughout the evening. Sunwing offers "nothing" on the plane - not even a pretzel or a cookie. Our return flight was sold out of almost the entire OnBoard Menu and so after exiting our resort at 7:15 a:m (no resort restaurants open so people could eat before leaving), then a 2 hour bus ride to the airport, getting through airport and security, flight time and landing in Toronto only to find a 2 hour process with deboarding, transfers, customs and luggage wait, it was 5:00 p:m by the time we were on the road and could actually take the time to stop and eat. Holguin airport offers limited food as well.

Melia Cayo Coco: Nice, small resort

This resort is small and easy to navigate. Rooms are close to ocean dining and pool. Rooms are old but adequate. Water supply is the biggest issue. Many people were complaining. Food was okay we did not go hungry, but you can see the shortages. Entertainment starts too late. The shows don't start until 930. We never made it to any. We have been here before it has its pluses but I don't know if we will return.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Love this resort!

The views of the ocean are amazing! It is so close to the main hotel. The staff are so welcoming, and will do their best to make your vacation wonderful. Ocean view rooms in the main building are smaller than Villa rooms, but the views of the ocean and harbour from your patio make up for it.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Worst stay in 22 years!

There major food and water shortages at this resort. I became sick 18 hours after arriving at the resort. 50 percent of guest were Rude, Unkind, Disrespected Cuban. A lot of the Canadians there were Cougars or Panthers looking for young Cuban Companions. I came home a week early do to food poisoning. It will Bea long time before I go back to Cuba.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Beautiful Resort

I went to the coral in October. It was a very beautiful resort. This was my first time traveling alone but after I left I knew I would go back. I can't say enough about the staff. They were so friendly and always remembered your name. It's a small resort but if you wanted more you could go to the sister resort next door which is a short walk. I recommend this resort for sure.
