Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Third Visit

We really enjoy this hotel. It’s clean and the restaurants are all fine. What is nice is that is you are there for an extended stay (us 10 days) then the resort is big enough that you can have some variety in your dining. All is all we would go back.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Amazing vacation!

Myself, my husband, and another couple just returned home from the Jewel Punta Cana. We went for 8 nights to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I am pleased to say the resort met and exceeded all our expectations. The resort itself is beautifully maintained with lush gardens and palm trees. There is a little area with Koi fish where you will find the flamingos close by if not in the pond itself. The pool is huge and they can be seen maintaining and cleaning it every morning. The rooms are [... read more] clean, a good size and I didn't find the bed uncomfortable. THE FOOD - well I can't say enough about how good it all was. I gained weight on this trip for sure! There were so many options available in the buffet. The only thing I didn't care for was the fact the buffet wasn't open for dinner every night, only Friday and Saturday nights. The rest of the nights you had to go to a specialty restaurant. Don't misunderstand, all of the restaurants were delicious and you weren't required to make a reservation, it was just some nights you wanted the options available at the buffet. I have to give a shout-out to our waiter Clavel. He was fantastic and always made sure we had our Simosa at breakfast to start our day. THE BEACH- The beach was nice, but I am spoiled with the Cuba beaches so I am always comparing to there. You had to swim in a sectioned-off area due to the large coral reef in front of the resort. If you go to get in the water outside of that sectioned-off area the lifeguard starts whistling at you to get you out of the water. You can however walk forever on the beach which was really nice. THE BARS- Daniel at the Sunken Treasure swim up bar was AWESOME!! He was always smiling, dancing and quick with the drinks but not overdoing the booze. His Margarita's were delicious! LOBBY BAR- The staff, sorry don't remember the names, but the staff on both shifts were fantastic. Never an empty a glass, always a great drink and a smile on their faces. I am just going to sum it up that it was a fantastic place, a great trip and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Fantastic experience

This resort really exceeded our expectations. Staff were always friendly and attentive. Rooms were up to date and clean. Food was never a issue a large variety. I loved that you did not need to pre book al a carte. My only disappointment was the beach straight ahead was not swimmable so you had to go down the beach a bit and there was a small section they had roped off to swim in. This however is not in the control of anyone but mother nature lol. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Ocean El Faro: A one time

Hotel is nice, food not what I expected. Canadians…no bacon for breakfast! Only a handful of staff enjoy their job. As the the rest, service is horrible. Poor management I would say. Staff turn their backs towards a line up of customers and they chit chat, their conversations are more important than your presence.

Ocean El Faro: Beautiful Resort

Hotel was beautifully kept. Staff not so friendly gift shop overpriced. Food was good desserts amazing Mikes coffee shop is fantastic, the Italian ala carte horrible. All other restaurants were great. You need to wake up early to book tese for the al a cartes

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Great time - first time in Punta Cana

This was our first trip to Punta Cana. We chose this report as it was advertised as being - adults-only, quiet/zen, and with a good selection of restaurants. We booked The Level and in our opinion that was the right thing to do. We chatted with many non-Level guests and they had a very different experience: "limited or no service on the beach or at the pool, only one restaurant available for both their lunch and dinners daily (buffet at the beach), crowded golf cart service, delays getting r [... read more]ides to and from, limited access to information of activities, +++" With Level access you can book restaurants via your butler, and get daily schedule updates. Plus an additional "a la carte" for breakfast, lunch or dinner, plus the private lounger with indoor and outdoor seating, snacks and a full "help yourself" drink area, and lastly the rooftop bar - which was very nice to have. The room was clean and pretty (building 14) and close to everything we wanted. The cleaning staff were amazing and we never had to ask for more towels. Mini-bar service daily was never missed. With Level you can ride to and from everywhere in private golf carts, and they really make sure that you don't wait long. We did however think that we'd have access to the restaurants at the Caribe side, and we did not. So there were really only 4 "a la carts" available for dinners, and only 1 "a la cart" for lunch and breakfast. Restaurant quality I'd say was very good. Excellent service everywhere too. Entertainment staff were almost non-existent at first, but came around near the end of the trip (thanks Nelly!). We learned that some of the activites are not done by in-house staff, but outsourced. The spa is beautiful. The beach was nice enough, but not to Cuba standards, however better than anything we've stayed at in Mexico. Hi-lites: paint day, yoga, mud treatment at the beach, and the spa services (one 1/2 hour massage is included for the Level (non-wellness package)). Service in the Level areas everywhere was excellent. Overall this was a fun, quiet trip - which is what we wanted. If you want a party, don't go. If you want to chill and get great service (Level), it's a good choice. Big thanks to the restaurant and beach staff. And to Jorge at Level Concierge who helped us get the perfect room. And Butler Bernadino is fantastic! Do Google reviews for them, one by one, they love that. Almost everyone working at this resort deserves a huge thanks! I'd also recommend Tripcentral - we always book through them and they don't miss a detail - special thanks to Sandra T, Jim O and Danielle S.

Occidental Caribe: Not impressed

I wasn’t impressed with this resort at all. I will not be back and I would suggest to anyone looking to book this resort to definitely reconsider. Food at the buffet is horrible, hotel is outdated and needs major repairs and cockroaches were found in our room.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Average OK but not amazing.

We stay in Bahia Principe Fantasia in beginning of October. First, rooms strong smell of mold, its not that we can't handled but be ready for this. Cleanliness of the rooms was ok. Swimming pool and splash pool was maintaining well. Buffet just prefect, ignore all restaurants accept Japanese. Beach activities just nothing. Completely zero. Ocean El Faro: Worst experience

Walking in the hotel on the first day and seeing the lobby was beautiful however, everything from that point onwards was terrible. The rooms smell musky and mouldy, the sheets felt dirty and the bathroom did not have face cloths. I had to change room when I got there because the room smell really bad and I was traveling with my 3 years old. I also travelled with my dad and 3 days into the trip, I had to take my dad to the doctor because he could not breathe in the room which cost my brother and  [... read more]I $430 US after which as soon as he was out of the room, he immediately started breathing better. My brother looked at the air filter that is supposed to be white and it was black. The food was terrible, if you are not traveling privilege, please don’t go there. This is the worst experience I have had in all my vacations over the years. I have requested to talk with a manager 3 days before leaving and I was not able to because he was not available. One morning I woke up and my entire body was swollen ( my skin get swollen and itchy when exposed to dirt). The room feel damped all the time, your money and clothes feel damped and if the bed. Riu Bambu: Party Resort!

If you’re not into parties stay away. App helps a lot, as you can order things you might need This resort also has lots of kids. Checkin in ok, rooms ok, usual Dominican open bathrooms, with water closet. TVs not working to good at first. Air cold or off, same with fan … both noisy as with drunk people returning from disco at early hours, Pool areas are not the cleanest, stained chairs, and stained beach towels… no cleaning going on that we could see other than the pool guys throw [... read more]ing pails of water from pool onto deck tiles. Pool Bathrooms are cleaned only 1 a day, late afternoon atrocious! The bars are great, and the bartenders will make you happy! VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Resort

Enjoyed our time at this resort. Beach was very long and was a lovely walk. Food was best we’ve had in the Dominican. Room was great. Ocean views on the left and pool views on the right. Didn’t expect to be able to see the ocean as we booked just the basic room. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Raul and Jackie (Bar) were awesome. Entertainment was not the best. Kareoke three nights out of the week. Would definitely recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Magical !!

Fantasia is a great place for families with children. Plenty to do to keep you and the younger kids; ( I suggest ages 1 to 10.) as active or chill as you prefer. . Pools and water slides. Kids club. Nightly entertainment from 8 pm. The light shows and fountains make the place look magical !! The resort is bright and sunny during the day, with shade under canopies or umbrella. Even with some daily showers, it dries up quickly. Rooms are spacious enough for adults and children. Mini fridge fille [... read more]d daily and food, snacks and drinks are plentiful. It is a great destination in the Caribbean so do expect to see some insects and small critters around, which my 4 year old grand child was excited to see. A short tram ride will deliver you to the Fantasia section of the beach, where the snack bar is located. A short walk over to the left you can enjoy the new pool features of the Punta/Bavaro resorts. Overall we could not ask for more; except more days !! lol

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Beautiful resort to enjoy

Beautiful resort to enjoy ocean beach hotel entertainment restaurants and amazing food. Very calming atmosphere, all facilities working just perfect, guest service outstanding and caring about all guests needs. Very appropriate Lidia for comfortable stay. Live music enjoyable and give more charm for romantic vacation. Very happy return home and thank very much for beautiful and unforgettable time at Bahia Grand Principe Portillo

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Amazing Resort!

I highly recommend this resort. I have not one complaint and all but positive feedback from the price, food, housekeeping to the grounds. The cleanest and prestine hotel with continual perks. We even found out in the bungalow section we stayed in we had a butler, Adonis who was very informative. We had room service 24/7 on top of an extended buffet 3x/daily with food to die for. Three beautiful restaurants on top of the buffet that we only took advantage of the last night as we were all alway [... read more]s exhausted and back in our rooms by 8p.m. with food comas 🤣. The beach is breathtaking and although I am a water baby, I didn't quite make it fully in as the ocean was often volatile but still no complaints, the sound and view was beautiful enough and the pool sufficed 💯% As I don't drink alcoholic beverages, they had more than enough amazing selections of mixed fresh juices, Cafe frappes, club sodas and of course ice cold bottled 💧 water. Wi-fi everywhere and someone asked about the mosquitoes.... there were some but I didn't see any. Only had one bite that I didn't feel but it was there. We had visits daily from a family of felines while we ate and entertained us, the kittens were adorable and had a hard time ignoring. Cutest dogs roaming the beach with a care free vibe and such respectful boundaries to tourists. I left extremely satisfied.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: September 2023

I would go to this resort on and on! No complaints overall! My only suggestion: more place to hang clothes in the balcony, barely any space Also very humid rooms , if we did turn off the AC the floors would be very wet.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very nice resort

The grounds were well kept and the staff very friendly. The poolside ladies were amazing. Rooms were kept clean. The food was overall quite good. I did have one disappointment...it seems like you cannot attend the Dominican emtertainment night without an additional fee...this woukd have equated to approx 30.00 per person, which I thought was quite steep.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana Hammock: Beach lovers avoid!

We had a good vacation but we are pool people. The beach is so bad at the resort they tell you to walk to the next resort. However even walking to it is tough as there is broken glass everywhere so forget long walks on the beach. Also the shoreline has a ton of seaweed ( way more than anywhere I’ve seen) and coral so hard to walk into. Aside from that food is better than almost any resort I’ve been too. Rooms are beautiful. Get the villa. It’s worth it. Although ac is an issue across  [... read more]resort. Staff are great. Drinks are as good as anywhere and when went it was dead. We almost had the pools to ourselves. Don’t go if you have kids as there is NOTHING for them and almost no activities if you are into that.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Very good!!!

The hotel is very clean. Very friendly staff. Very good service. BUT! We paid for a Superior Junior suite, but they gave us a Standard room. We arrived and looked again at the photos on the hotel website and this is a Standard room. We were told that this is a Superior Junior suite. Room 7202, we stayed from September 21 to September 28. Svetlana Baiguildina and Albert Baiguildine.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Really bad resort, not worth it.

I recently stayed at the Melia Caribe in Punta Cana, and I was not entirely satisfied with my experience. While the hotel was not terrible, it was not up to par with what I expected from an all-inclusive resort. Here are some of the specific issues I encountered: * The hotel is starting to show its age. There were some areas that could use more maintenance, such as the pool area and the lobby. * The rooms were not always clean. Some of the staff was very friendly and helpful, while others were rude and unhelpful. * The food was mediocre at best. There were a few dishes that I enjoyed, but overall the food was not very memorable. * I found cockroaches in some common areas of the hotel. This was very disgusting, and it made me feel uncomfortable staying at the hotel. * The pools were not very clean. There were not enough staff members to keep the pools clean, and I saw several cats sleeping in the pool beds. Overall, I was not impressed with my stay at the Melia Caribe. For the amount of money you have to pay to stay there, I think there are better options available. I would recommend that the hotel management take some steps to improve the following areas: * Invest in more maintenance. The hotel is starting to show its age, and some areas could use a fresh coat of paint or some new furniture. * Improve the consistency of the service. All staff members should be trained to provide excellent customer service. * Improve the quality of the food. The food should be more consistently delicious and memorable. * Clean the pools more regularly. There should be enough staff members to keep the pools clean and free of debris.
