Royalton CHIC Antigua: Nice beach

The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We did have an issue with hot water a couple of times. The resort is dated and in need of upgrades. The grounds were good, beach great. We would consider it a 3 star at max. Food was good, we did not have any problems. No problems with staff they were friendly. Shout out to our rep Liz, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. If we have anything to complain about it would be lack of shade/shelter for people that are not big sunburn enthusiasts.  [... read more] We met two Sunwing stewardesses, and they said Sunwing just purchased the resort, so they will have lots of improvements to make. All in all I found it was good value for the money.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Great vacation

St James Club and Villas: St James Club, Antigua

So far the best small island we have ever been to. The grounds were kept very clean, beaches were also beautiful. Especially liked the gentleman with the drink cart that came to you on the beach. We stayed on the bay side where they had all the water sports, excellent! Room was great, large sitting area, with sink and coffee/tea maker, king sized bed and bathroom was very large. The cleaning staff were awesome. Maintenance guys were great. We did have a couple of issues during our stay and they [... read more] were fixed within 24 hours. Food was also excellent. Buffets had different themes every day, but had something for everyone. If you wanted a specialty restaurant you had to get up early though to reserve a spot because you were only able to reserve for the next day, not the week, and usually early times went quickly. Did some off resort trips, which were excellent. Beautiful country, people were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Caribbean side beaches very beautiful with clear blue water, good snorkeling at the reef and awesome views from the tops of the mountains. Only advice, wear sunscreen, sun is very hot. Best trip we have had so far, on a small island!

Galley Bay Resort and Spa: Absolute paradise!

This resort was amazing. Our room was modern with attractive décor, a walk-in closet, and a large, very nicely appointed ensuite, and it led right out onto the beach. The ocean was just steps away! The grounds were immaculate: the plants lush and well tended. Although the pool was not huge, it contained a lovely waterfall. The pool area had plenty of lounge chairs for sunbathing, so although the area was busy, we always were able to find a place to sit. We loved the bar area: great drinks (try the banana daiquiris!) and a comfortable and attractive sitting area. All the public areas were gorgeous. The only drawback was that the week we were there high winds made the ocean too rough for swimming and as a result we were not able to take advantage of the sailing and snorkeling normally available. The guest services were very helpful in suggesting and booking excursions and we thoroughly enjoyed an "island safari" in a 4x4 jeep and a circumnavigation of the island by boat. Don't miss Nelson's Dockyard. I wish we'd had more time to explore it. Finally, the staff at Galley Bay were exceptional, so kind, pleasant, helpful, and friendly. I'd love to go back.

Sandals Grande Antigua: Paradise

I would totally recommend this resort, it’s beautifull and the staff are amazing. We had butler service and they were awesome. The grounds were immaculate, the rooms were clean and well stocked. We are definitely going back there and I can say for sure that so far this is my favourite Sandals and this was our third time. Don’t get me wrong they are all great resorts anywhere you decide to go.

Cocos Hotel: Amazing views

We have just spent a week in a sunset view cottage #25 Twelve days after cancer surgery it was perfect surroundings for a relaxing vacation Every time you look out at the views you want to take a picture whether it be from your room balcony or from the restaurant or beach When people say pictures just don’t do the views justice I now know what they mean The staff are all so friendly and pleasant Shout out to Stephen Valley church beach bartender He’s the best

Ocean Point Resort and Spa: lovely resort

This is an amazing resort, small but has every thing one needs .staff very friendly ,very helpful, food couldn't be better .All round great place, great holiday. The pool is big and clean, beach small but nice and always lots of chairs . Plenty of trips if one wants to leave the resort.

Jolly Beach Antigua: real 3 star

good food but very little selection small old clean rooms very nice beach and very little shade good entertainment staff is very good have little vans to pick you up at air port the resort is a safe place

Pineapple Beach Club: Wonderful Resort!

My husband and I recently spent 11 days at Pineapple Beach Club in February. We loved the laid back atmosphere, the staff just couldn't do enough for you, the food was excellent especially Chef Pietros & the Pineapple Grill. The Outhouse was a great restaurant as well.The rum punches were pretty excellent too. The beach and the views just amazing. Antigua is paradise! My only complaint would be the fact that our room definitely needed updating although it was kept spotless every day!

The Verandah Antigua: Fair Resort

Going on this trip confirmed for me that I do not like all inclusive vacations. The food was boring and did not represent local Caribbean food as I expected. At one dinner, I ordered wine about 4 times and never got it. The entertainment was horrible and did not include any steel bands or reggae banks as I expected. There were no local places to go anywhere near the hotel. My room key card did not work on two occasions. For the first excursion I booked, on the date I was at reception at 8: [... read more]30 am waiting to be picked up. After about 45 minutes, I finally got someone to make a call about this. They informed me that there wasn't enough room for me on the excursion which is why they didn't pick me up. Why didn't someone call me about this as they had my cell phone number? I thought the shuttle back to the airport left at 10:30 am, but when I arrived at reception at 10:20 am, I was told it left at 10:00 am. They had my cell phone number, so why didn't they call me when I didn't show up at 10:00 am? I ended up having to take a taxi to the airport. The two beaches were really nice. Most of the wait staff and the cleaning staff were great. When I did go on the excursions, they were very good. Regarding whether or not I would recommend this hotel to a friend, I would tell them about my experiences and they could decide for themselves.

Jolly Beach Antigua: great resort

the grounds were kept up nice, public areas were good, beach was amazing, chairs and shade was plentiful. beer was good but could be colder, the alcohol was crap bottom of the barrel. Food was good and plentiful, enjoyed the gym , the rooms were small but clean

St James Club and Villas: Beautiful resort

It was very well kept grounds. 110 acres to roam around. Gym was excellent. Breakfast and lunch buffet were great but dinner either a la carte or buffet. Sometimes the a la carte restaurants reservations were full for 6:30 pm start so ended up eating buffet. Rooms were up to date, lovely and clean. The entertainment was ok, different bands and single musicians but we were used to larger productions. The weather was excellent 30*c everyday. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We loved our time in Antigua. We found the resort clean and the beach was the best!! The rooms were clean but small. We had a nice view of the ocean. The people were friendly and any problems were addressed immediately. The bar service was slow and people tended to butt in. We have done Caribbean vacations for the last 10 years and this was by far our best! I would definitedly return!

Jolly Beach Antigua: Lovely

No bells and whistles where the rooms are concerned, but it is clean, grounds are well kept and the staff, simply amazing! The beach is comparable to Turks and Caicos.... 2nd time there in a year, we will be back!

St James Club and Villas: St James club

The hotel was good. Felica our travel agent recommended the hotel and location and treated us so well. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and Felicia made arrangements to surprise us with champagne in our room for when we arrived. The hotel and beach was exactly what she discribed.

Sandals Grande Antigua: Sandals Antigua-week of Feb 18th

Hats off to Westjet-really good seats,.very personable and fun staff and an overall better experience than Airtransat or Sunwing. We think this is the best of the Sandals that we have experienced (have been to Whitehouse, Bahamas, St. Lucia and Jamaica). This one is larger, very well kept, lots of great things to do (pizza joint open most of the day, large fire tables in the evening to gather around, etc.). very attentive and happy staff, a superb stretch of beach- always calm, warm wate [... read more]r and hard packed sand. Very beautiful grounds and endless views. Customer service was first rate for the most part. And good for them for switching to paper drinking straws ! And excellent wines and good bar drinks everywhere. And our room was very up to date despite us being in the oldest part of the resort. We still think some of the other 5 star resorts such as Secrets provides far superior food and much better live entertainment, all at a lot less cost. However if the butler experience and snorkeling, scuba and golf are important to you, then Sandals may make sense. For us, the only notable meals out of 7 days at this Sandals were at Marios (Italian) and the morning and lunch buffets (both very good compared to the alacarte offerings). Elenor's, which requires reservations, was pretty much a let down for us. I couldn't seem to get a good piece of grilled fish anywhere. But there seemed to be lots of breaded/deep fried fish and chicken on the menus Again, nothing wrong with the food, but at this level of luxury, we would expect better.

Jolly Beach Antigua: good value

Great resort with all rooms being ocean view. Nice selection of resteraunts and good buffet. Lots of beach chairs although the water can be rough. When staying request room away from breakfast and evening entertainment area as it can be loud. Beds were short but good. Would be nice if italian restaurant has expresso or if you could get expresso somewhere .

Pineapple Beach Club: Great Resort.

This resort is in a great location.Beach area small but beautiful water and sand. Rooms dated but very clean. Food was good with lots of variety. Grounds were well kept. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would go back for sure.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Amazing resort in need of maintenance

This was our second time in Halcyon Cove, we came back mainly because of the spectacular beach. We stayed at room 351 which needs maintenance badly. Every time it rained at night, drops of water started to penetrate into the room in 5 different places. Unfortunately one place was my side of bed so it woke me up and we had to start a cleanup. Luckily we didn't have much rain so this only happened 3 times. We mentioned it to our Sunwing representative and received a letter from the office we can m [... read more]ove to another room. It was only 3 days to the end of our stay so we declined. Dining is another issue, there is simply not enough room for everyone, dinner starts at 7 pm which is very late for some people so there was a lineup from 6:30pm just to get seated in dining room. I would suggest to open the dining room at 6pm to fit everyone in comfortably without lineups. Ala carte was the worst, we had a booking for 6:30pm and received a meal at 8:30pm. Really bad service. The beach is spectacular and this resort has a lot of potential.
