Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Costly upgrades

My initial booking was for a fairly decent price but when I got on location I was being offered upgrades to a newer room which I initially declined, but when I got to assigned room I saw why I was being told to upgrade. I did so immediately and had to pay which was very disappointing! The newer room was way better compared to what we offered. However, it was also standard for what you expect to get when booking an all inclusive for 1 week with your children! Or just in general. Those other rooms [... read more] shouldn’t even be on the property. They are an absolute disgrace!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Not truly Adults only

The hotel was nice however it was falsely advertised as adults only. There was a portion of the resort which was ‘adults only’ however kids were still accessing the beach where the adults only part was. The main dining area was also shared with families and kids. I requested something nice be done via email, as I was there to celebrate a birthday - nothing was done. The beach wasn’t the greatest either. It’s unfortunate but I would not return.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Luxury Bahia principe

Love love love this resort, beautiful views, food was amazing, drinks are great. Staff is very friendly, lots of great entertainment and shows. Rooms were cleaned 2-3x a day, every area was very clean, no waiting time for restaurants. I let the staff know about my food allergies and they went out of their way to accommodate. Will definitely go back.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wonderful Time

I went to this hotel in June 2025 for a quick long weekend trip, and wished I could stay longer. The adults only atmosphere was good if you're interested in relaxing quietly, and doing simple activities like morning yoga, salsa lessons by the pool, or silent disco at night. The staff were all very friendly and attentive to the needs of the guests. I found the hotel to be clean, comfortable, and well air conditioned. The golf cart shuttles were also very punctual. I'd definitely return to this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Absolutely worst experience by far!

Upon arrival, despite our requests and confirmation from the resort that we not be placed in blocks 14 to 18, we were assigned rooms in block 17. After much debate, we were relocated to block 11. However, one room was not ready, and when we finally received it around 7 PM, the bed was unmade. Neither room had bath towels. We requested a rollaway bed for the room with a king-size bed, which arrived at 2 AM—waking us up, which was absolutely unacceptable. We only received a few towels late in the evening after demanding to speak with a manager. Pool towels are also consistently unavailable. The buffet is frequently out of food and plates. We received raw chicken from the jerk centre and our last a la carte dinner was ruined by the ignorance of our waiter. Our birthday banner request was ignored, and no extras were provided. The customer service has been extremely poor. Given we paid over $9,000 for this vacation, we are extremely dissatisfied, we will not return to this resort and are deeply disappointed by the disregard shown by staff and management!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Good resort

Just got back from Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica. Clean resort, Staff were nice, we booked 4 rooms - out of the 4 rooms 2 rooms were great for AC but the other 2 rooms AC was not working well. Very hot weather out so when you come back from the beach/pool you want the AC working in your room. Thank goodness i brought a little fan to help me sleep at night. Hotel needs renos big time. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Excellent Resort

We stayed at this resort in July 2025. The family thoroughly enjoyed because we had appropriate expectations. This is our 5th trip to a bahia resort. Staff: very friendly, always had a smile and greeted throughout the resort. Check in: slow process but be patient. Tried to use their app to check in but would not load. We were given newly renovated rooms in building 17 and 18. Rooms: clean, stocked. Bring your soap for hand. They only provide shampoo and conditioner in showers. Towels beca [... read more]me an issue by day 3. We did not get any clean towels delivered despite calling reception 4x. Used pool towels. Our fridge was not working. It was replaced by day 3 after many calls and visiting front desk. Beach: very rocky by the resort. You have to walk to the left of the resort pass the kids area and the beach, sand is pristine there. Never an issue getting a chair. Food: Amazing for a resort. Always can find something to eat. Pisces restaurant by the beach was amazing if you don't want to get back to main buffet. Others enjoyed the jerk hut although twice we tried but chicken a bit undercooked for us. The main buffet was our favorite spot. Many options for all. Pizza and freshly made pasta amazing. Some curries like goat or stews were a bit too salty at times and unfortunately lead to much food waste from what I have noticed. Drinks were amazing overall. We tried most drinks from the menu. Favorites were Bob Marley, margaritas, mohitos, mai tai, drink of the day, rum cream. You can pay for premium alcohol if you choose. Entertainment: could use some more night shows but kids enjoyed the magic show, circus, fire dragon. A fantastic vacation overall and we would definitely return after their renovations.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Disappointed

We go to all inclusive because of the beach, we care less about the pool. We did not enjoy the beach at all. Very disappointed because of the mountain of seaweed. We tried to go swim despite of and got itchy afterwards. The lock of our balcony door is broken. We told the air Transat representative but nobody came to fix. The air transat rep does not care because we did not get our tours with him. The bellboy who brought our luggage to our room seems to be not happy, checking out, we didn’t both [... read more]er to get a bellboy, we did it on our own. Some staff are friendly and some just don’t care, you have to wait to get your water filled. We enjoyed 2 nights out of 7 of the night entertainment. The other five nights are catered for Latino’s. Our flight was delayed 7 hours without proper noticed. We could have stayed in our room and do a late check out instead of waiting in the lobby where it was really hot. The only thing we enjoyed was the quietness and the food.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

1st time staying at Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda and definitely will go back. Grounds were amazing, so much to do. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Junior Suite, well kept room. Room was cleaned everyday by TANIA. Mini fridge stocked daily. 2 big pools, 1 relaxation pool with 3 whirlpools...lots of seating, cabanas included. Beach was great. Bars, restaurants so much to eat and drink.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: OK resort but not 5*

Was excited to go to a 5 star resort but really disappointed. We pre checked in with Bahi App. Upon arrival requested an area (sections 15-18) in the resort. The reception said ok, but we got the complete opposite end (section 23...dont accept a room here). Close to the Adults Only Luxury Resort. We had 4 children in our group! This was fine at first but one room had a bad leak from the ceiling in front of the bathroom, so that room got moved after waiting the day for someone to fix it and  [... read more]then no one coming and we had to fight with hotel management. Finally at 1 AM...they got moved to other end of hotel (section 18). Our other two rooms were infested with cockroaches and the toilets didn't flush unless you put your hand in the tank. As we booked together and wanted to be close we asked for all rooms to be moved to section 18. Well we showed pictures of the uninvited daily guests and were told we would be moved....got the push around for 3 days. Finally we found the air canada rep (she was MIA for 2 days) who pushed things and got us moved on the 4th day. If you book you must ensure you are in section 18 as these rooms were much more updated and 4 start quality (we still saw 2 cockroaches but it was not a daily issue). The other rooms (section 23) were more like 3 star. Food in the buffet was OK, the restaurants were much better. We are beach users so that was a little disappointing rocks and coral near shore but mostly sand when you get knee deep. Roped off areas due to sea urchins so cant go deep. Doesn't compare at all to any Cuba beaches (we have been to 5 different Cuba resorts). We had a good group of people so had fun even with all the issues. We were told that the resort is being renovated in 2026. Much needed.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing People

The staff at resort were amazing. Alfredo Michel is the man and made everything too easy. The two guys in the entertainment named King Kong and Hector were some of the funniest people I’ve met in years. Really a great trip.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Beautiful pools

Grounds and pools were great. Pools were the best I have seen at any resort. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. There were a few who were not helpful. Found the bus drive to the hotel very long. Found the check in process very slow. Our best meal was at the Italian restaurant. The food was amazing. ! We had a great waiter take care of us. Very enjoyable evening.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Good

The pool was amazing and the staff all friendly and outgoing, had a great time by the pool with all the daily activities and entertainment. Beach was small but was ok for a beach day. Rooms are outdated and had a few issues; no linen in the room and had to wait several hours for it to be brought to us, coffee maker broken, and the shower head was broken. All problems were addressed and fixed. Had a hard time booking reservations for dinners, restaurants seemed to all be booked for earlier times  [... read more]and we were travelling with two young kids, so going to dinner at 9 was not suitable for us. Managed to get on to one and it was fabulous food and service. Overall we had a great time!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Horrible start

I was not happy with how things started. We got to our room and there were no towels and the bed sheets and pillow cases were dirty, not to mention there was open drinks in the mini bar. So disappointing

It is a big resort. too big for my liking. Service was so so. Room was not clean. No water for 2 days. Shower was broken and the list goes on Reception was slow to attend to needs but it is understanble due to the amount of guest they have to attend to.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Best trip ever

I absolutely loved the time i had at the Tulum resort. From the front counter staff that were very attentive and prompt in any of our requests, the wait staff that continously kept us hydrated and entertained, to the entertainment team that kept us smiling. Even the cleaners were pleasant. Everyone made us feel like we were home away from home. I will never forget our new friends and I can't wait to come back.

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Great All Inclusive Resort!!

Beautiful pools and very busy resort, especially at the beachside pool 4.5 star rating. Plenty of daily activities available for all ages. Dining options and food quality made to order is definitely 5 star rating. The buffets quality of food is all about timing! Extremely hot weather 35’C every day, bring plenty of sunscreen. Rooms could definitely use an update, especially the bathrooms 3 star rating. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort!

The resort was really nice. Very clean and well maintained. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. We went at the end of June though and the beach wasn’t very nice. It might just have been the season.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Fabulous Resort

Loved his resort! Everything was amazing - great staff, great choice of food at the buffet, great à la carte restaurants. Our room had our own private pool - what’s not to like? Would definitely go back!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Nice resort

Beautiful resort but shouldn’t be considered a 5star the hotels need to be repaired cracked walls, leaking showers and some unfriendly staff should make this resort a 4star. With minor improvements and upgrades they can be back to a 5star standard.
