Wonderful and Relaxing

I found the Breezes Varadero meet my expectations. The grounds were kept beautifully, the rooms were spacious. The beach was fabulous,mother nature was at her best. Pool side was good.Though the hotel was a bit dated it suited our needs with only two stories and a smaller venue. It was quiet in block B and that is what we wanted. Stay away from sausages and like food that weren't cooked enough.We really enjoyed the special meals at the Grill and Martinos was excellent. Just be ready to tip for service in the restaurants. I noticed the servers in the buffet would put down their own bags at tables and wait for guests. We spent quite a bit on tips on a daily basis. All in all a great and relaxing holiday.

E Z Breezy Breezes

Traveled to Breezes Varadero in late December from snowy Ottawa and stayed for a week over New Years with the Misses. Comparing the resort to the others we saw in the area, we would say that one of the better parts was how spread out the complex is. No tall buildings with plenty of room to walk around. That being said, we saw a few different rooms and you definitely want to request to be as far away from the disco as possible. The food was basically what we expected (ie nothing special...) but definitely edible. Overall, the beach was the best thing about this resort. Great location all the beach, plenty of beach chairs. Great trip but everything is "Okay"

I've have been to one other resort in Punta Cana which was also a 4 star so I'm basing my review in comparison to that. First, I had a great time the weather was great and my travel companions made everything we did from waiting in the airport to waiting for a table at the buffet a blast. However, when I reflect on my experience at Ocean Blue everything at Breezes Varadero was just not as good. Not that it was bad, just not as good. The positives: - Entertainment staff were excellent, they did  [... read more]a great job trying to get people out of their chairs and have some fun. - There didn't seem to be much of a line to order drinks - Room was very clean, good air conditioning, quite comfortable - Beach is amazing, beautiful white sand, very clean - Could always find a lounge chair on the beach - Burgers at the Beach bar (but where are the nachos, popcorn, chips, or something else to snack on? I would have loved some plantain chips) The negatives: - Compared to Punta Cana the food just wasn't great. The A La Cartes were pretty good but still nothing like I had in Punta Cana. I'm not very picky at all and I really like to eat but I never felt inclined to go for seconds. - Everything is a bit weathered - Gym was missing a lot of equipment, some didn't work - No swim-up bar - Some friends in a different block clearly had some issues with mold/musty smell in their room The could go either ways: - Not a lot of people at the resort (could be a + for some) - Definitely not a party resort Depending on the experience you want to have and what you are willing to spend I would recommend this resort to someone who doesn't care much about food and just wants to relax all day on the beach.

Breezes Varadero

Great beach, food was not the best. Staff were friendly, especially when appreciated with a tip. Greatcoffee bar. Location is dated but rooms were clean and well kept. No interweb. Get a receipt when you exchange money at the front desk.

Charming

Breezes is a very charming resort. Beautiful beach. Close to town. Met some very nice people. Food ok. Take mosquito repellant and bubba mug. Shows are very good and only one hour long. I've been to many all inclusives and found them too large and crowded. Breezes varadero is small and very well laid out, 5 minutes and you'll be where you want to go. Never had a problem finding a lounger. Loved going for a special coffee after dinner and listening to the VERY talented 4 man band who entertained  [... read more]around the coffee bar. Some rooms are more tired than others, this is not a new resort. Gardens are mature with an orchid garden.

Fantastic resort!

Although it's an older resort, the rooms were adequate and we had 2 balconies and a bedroom and sitting room. The rooms were clean and the staff was warm and helpful! Would definitely go back! The beach was amazing and the food though sometimes bland, was plentiful and we had a large variety of choices. Bring some hot sauce :)

Breezes Varadero, Movember 2014

Excellent beaches, amazing ocean, acceptable resort, but the food was unacceptable. Got food poisoned twice. Poor kitchen hygiene, half-rotten vegetables and the staff was recycling the left over repeatedly. We ended up having lunch and supper at restaurants in Varadero and of course, we had to pay for each meal: so much for the all-inclusive.

Beautiful resort

I loved the layout of the resort and the beach was amazing - the staff very helpful and friendly and the trip around the peninsula and the town of Veradero on the double decker bus was awesome! The golfing for my partner in the tournament was super and lunch at the Mansion was amazing!

Beautiful place

Overall I had a fabulous time. There were plenty of activities around the pool, the beach and the entertainment in the evening was lots of fun with a variety of acts. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The beach was amazing and wonderful to swim in. The only negative was the air conditioning filters needed to be cleaned as there was a musty smell which gave me some concern. On the positive, the room was large with plenty of room. The food at the Italian Restaurant was very good and Pe [... read more]dro our waiter was hilarious and an excellent server. In the main dining room the food was so so. I was concerned with some of the cold cuts as it may have been left out too long. In the evening one of our hostesses (Janelle) was fantastic. She was very attentive and her smile always welcomed her guests.

Fantastic Week

This hotel was overall pretty phenomenal I have to say! I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Beautiful resort, incredibly clean grounds, pleasant staff, large rooms...everything I was hoping for when booking this trip. The food was good if you take into consideration it is Cuba. I wasn't expecting fantastic food. It was good, nothing made me sick...it just gets tiring eating the same thing all week but I totally expected that. NOT a party resort, overall OK stay

Firstly, the food here was pretty good considering what I've heard about other resorts in Cuba. The beach was beautiful, and the weather was pretty nice and only rained for a few hours in the evening. I am 21 years old, and let this be clear it is NOT a party resort. This is not the type of place to go if you're just going to drink and have fun, there wasn't many young people at this resort but going out to the clubs made it worth it. The staff there was okay, some were friendly and other staff  [... read more]were just plain rude. Water kept leaking into our room and it would take them hours to come and fix it. Staff spoke badly about us in Spanish (they did not know one of my friends could understand them). The bartenders were also rude at times because there was about 7 of us asking for drinks at the same time. Other than that we had an amazing day, the rooms were kept clean and it was pretty decent. I would recommend this hotel for someone who doesn't care too much for the resort party scene.

Had so much fun! The staff is amazing!

The hotel is older but kept very clean and the grounds are beautiful. All areas are close to get to and their stretch of beach is definitely one on the best on Varadero beach! Food was the only disappointment - very bland.

Such a friendly place.

Our first trip to Cuba was all we could of hoped for with most of the credit going to the incredible people at Breezes Varadero. So helpful and friendly. The beach was one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. With sunsets that will amaze you.

Breezes Varadero

I have been to Varadero 4 times including the Riu Varadero... I booked an oceanview room with tripcentral and received a gardenview with a barely spittin' shower spout. The food is redundant but that's expected in Cuba, u go for the beach! Breezes Varadero upsetted me in many ways. We paid more than enough for what we thought was a GREAT trip!! When we arrived, we waited two hours for a room... Don't get fouled by nolitours & early check ins and late checkouts. The people were amazing

The grounds were lovely, the pool area was the best with plenty of new lounge chairs The beach is beautiful, white sand, turquoise. waters , and a lot of places for shade although we had to get up fairly early to find lounges in decent condition. The rooms were large but could use updating ,we had a few plumbing issues. The units closest to the beach were the best. There was plenty of food ,while limited in cereals that we would eat. Great resort for quiet vacation.

This resort is more for the quiet set! We had a great vacation; until a single father from Montreal showed up with his 11 year old & 14 year old sons. They played loud music that was to their liking and disturbing to those of us that wanted quiet. They did not respect the ground or the people around them; letting their garbage dance down the beach in the breeze, getting sick in the ocean, spitting whenever and wherever they liked. I would return to this resort only if I was guaranteed that this type of behavior and favouritism would not exist.

Very well maintained, peacefull

Beautiful grounds, excellent staff,perfect size of resort, beautiful beach,excellent location, very nice garden suites,enough lounges ,and shade,lot of bars, nice beach bar and barbecue, nice entertainment.

Excellent Resort

My wife and I along with ou r 5 grown children have been to the Breezes many times and have yet to have a bad experience. The staff is excellent and we have made many good friends at the resort, As a matter of fact we just spent the July long weekend at our cottage talking about the Breezes on occasion. The rooms are good but in the caribbean you can expect a few insects. The food is adequate to good but keep an open mind as not everything will be the same as in Canada. Free booze, golf included [... read more], internet okay but frequently off. The best part is the staff, very accomadating as long as they are treated with respect. The beach well there are few better. Take the trip you will really enjoy the place!!!!

Fantastic Resotr

The resort was very clean and the grounds were well taken care of.The rooms were very spacious .The staff were very friendly.The beach was gorgeous.The food was pretty good.The italian restaurant was my favourite.

Awesome resort

The grounds were just beautiful-nicely kept and the hotel personnel went out of their way to make you very comfortable. Every day was a beautiful experience.We enjoyed the walk to the beach and the walk on the shoreline and the refreshing drinks served us.
