Unforgettable !

We booked one week Sept 19th as a last minute whim. We were so happy with the result that it was definite an unforgettable trip! Firstly, in my opinion, Holguin is the best area in Cuba to vacation as a couple. It is not a spring break/party destination, nor a fun park for kids. The weather and beaches combination is by far the best in Cuba. As for Brisas...it is not the most luxurious site in the area..but it is romantic, fun, cozy, clean and has everything you need for a vacation. The staff an [... read more]d service are great. The food is good, the pool may not be enormous, but is large enough for everyone. In short, you may find places with more restaurant, bigger pool, more rooms, etc... but trust me, you do not need more. Definitely a great 4 star place to put on top of your list.

The cuban hotel.

This hotel is average at best. During the weekend there where lots of cubans in the hotel which made it into a busy loud place, which I personally did not care for. The food was boring stewed stuff or you had to stand in line. I tried that a couple of times but it was not worth the wait.. For fresh salad items there was only cucumber and cabbage, no lettuce no tomato no peppers no onions. Two of the pools where green and murky the first half of our stay. Best place to be was in the air conditioned coffee bar, a nice stylish place for excellent coffee and cocktails, unfortunately instead of some nice soft music there is a tv, set to a spanish movie channel, like I need harry potter in spanish during a romantic after diner drink with my wife.

Amazing

La villa was great ,food excellent, just a bit sad that some how my tylenol and my tums for ardburns some how disappear of my night table no big deal just had to wait to come back to toronto to get my pills !!!! Puff !!!!! I made it. Other than that it was an amazing trip one little ofservation the shower a bit difficult to regulate the water but no big deal.

GREAT PLACE

i've travelled to a few places in cuba but this has been the best place yet, very friendly people, food is good and entertainment far the best! i would highly recommend this resort!just sit back and relax, lots to do if u wish!!! i will return! it's worth the ride about 1 1/2 hrs to resort!

Great resort! excellent people!

This resort was perfect! We stayed here for a week and had no complaints. ..the rooms (Oceanview) clean and the beds comfortable. AC worked very well and never had water problems. The staff from resort were really friendly. Buffet:food was really good and fresh....oh I love the smoothies prepared with fresh fruits! The beach was a real paradise! The Catamaran excursion was excellent. ..we would definitely go back again. You can never go wrong when it's Brisas!

Close to the best you'll find in Cuba

Our 3rd visit to this resort, my 5th time in Cuba. Definitely one of the best resorts you'll find - clean, friendly staff, decent food, perfect beach. Hammocks on the beach! Terrible front desk service.

Amazing resort

The resort was fantastic. I would recommend staying in a villa though not the hotel. Restaurants were good. Entertainment staff were enthusiastic and provided lots to do. The front desk staff were not so helpful however.

Great spot - great value.

My wife and 10 year old traveled to this Perfect spot for a family vacation. Great dining and great pools. The staff were very accommodating. The Jeep tour was fantastic and so was the snorkeling. Highly recommend this resort.

Our Favourite place!

We have been to Cuba 15 times now and this is our favourite place to stay. . We stay in the Villa section, as it is quieter. We took 12 family members last Spring Break and all really enjoyed the food and service. We had 6 teenagers with us and didn't worry about their safety. We won't be staying anywhere else in the future as we can't fault this Hotel the Staff and the food. Another plus is that it is a 5 min. walk to the Vendor's Market for Souveniers!

Amazing place

I stayed with my family 4 times in this resort. I have stayed there when the kids were little and teens. The staff is amazing, the food is great, the rooms in the hotel and the rooms in the villas are huge and clean

Awesome family resort!

We spent March break there with our kids (10 and 12) and had an amazing time! Beach was beautiful, great snorkeling closeby (we used the pedal boats to get out to the coral reef), staff was wonderful and food was actually really good! A number of tasty a la carte restaurants to choose from. We did 4 and they were all yummy (Seafood restaurant was the best!) Great value for the dollar. We would definitely return. Entertainment left a little to be desired so if that is important to you, this may n [... read more]ot be the best place for you (although the Beatles tribute in John Lennon park was great!). The resort is within walking distance to a market which was fun. We went swimming with the dolphins and horseback riding. Both excursions were awesome.

Absolutely loved the Brisas!

The Hotel , grounds and the beach was amazing. Food was just fine! Staff was very friendly. We stayed in the hotel on the top floor and the ocean view was beautiful! It wasn't noisy as others had said. I am sure families enjoy the villas. Great Hotel the only thing I heard was some of the floors on the ground level did have some issues!

We're planning to have our wedding here in January

We picked up a cheap deal for this hotel in June to check it out for our wedding next January. It's definitely the right place! They actually have a wine cellar with a sommelier, late breakfast is possible at two restaurants, plus the beach is terrific! Good snorkeling, diving nearby, and plenty of lounge chairs. My only complaint is likely seasonal; there wasn't always mint available for mojitos. We had a mini-suite in the villas section and those rooms were huge! Everything worked and the cham [... read more]bermaid was very helpful. We had rain 4/7 days we were there and we would still describe it as one of our best holidays ever. The wedding coordinator is great and she is trying to accommodate all our crazy requests. I can't wait for the big day in January!

Amazing spot to visit

The grounds are always kept neat. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. The rooms are clean. You can relax without anyone bothering you. We have returned here for three years. The food is good with lots of choices.

Awesome resort

We are repeat visitors (9 times). The staff, food, and surroundings are all excellent. We have made friends with some of the staff and have been welcomed into their homes, like family. The staff manage to deal with difficult patrons with a smile, which is not always easy. This resort takes pride in keeping everything clean and well looked after.

Resort was ok

If a couple is going to get way from Canadian winter and just want the sun/beach this resort would be ok but if you are looking for a sightseeing family vacation this is not the place. Restaurants were very good but the buffets could use a little work. Staff was not helpful and very difficult to communicate with. Staff constantly/openly looking for tips. Sunwing reps were basically non-existent. Flights to/from delayed. Nightly entertainment was awful, however the resort had a lot of things to d [... read more]uring the day- tennis, beach volleyball, paddle boats and a great kids room. Beaches were very good - some of the best I have ever seen.

Great resort!

Beach was amazing! (clean, several hammocks and beach chairs). Weather was beautiful at the beginning of June and it only rained twice during late evening/ night and only for a short period of time. Before taking a local tour, double check with the driver as to what the tour entails, the reception "miscommunicated" some information to us.

Wonderfull place to go

I've been to brisas guradalavaca 5 times. Will continue to do so.grounds are lovely.iv'e seen loads of improvements over this short time.2 gergeous wedding areas.ice cream parlour do-nut cooked fresh,yummy... Great music loads of fun for all age groups.amazing staff.cannot wait till spring.

Great Place

To go here is just like going back home. Eighth time here and always wanting to go back again, people are so nice and the beach is wonderful. Lots of food to pick from with more choices added each time we go. The villas have recently been upgraded and the villa pool area, very nice. Still needs some work on the water system as some times there is no hot water, but otherwise, everyone is there to help you, whatever you need.

What a great resort!

This was our 2nd trip to Cuba, the resort is huge with many different bars/restaurants. The staff are all very friendly and the a la cart food is fantastic. The buffets offer a wide array of choices. Would deffinately go back in a heartbeat.
