I will return....Great Resort!!!!

I just returned from my vacation on May 2, 2015. The Blau Costa Verde was a great resort and I would defiantly return. I was by myself and I felt completely safe. I stayed in block 28 and I loved my room. The food in the buffet was pretty much the same every night and there was a lot to choose from. The a la carte’s were delicious!!!! I walked the beach every day and it really is a great stretch of beach. They made fresh watermelon juice every day. I would head to restaurant by the beach and  [... read more]the two lovely ladies there would always have it waiting for me….. The only suggestion I would make to any one traveling here is don’t forget your bug spray. I did and it was a big mistake. I am not sure if it was the time of year or that fact that the resort is surrounded by trees but I was the buffet for the Cuban mosquitos.

Great Resort

Loved this resort friendly people, staff was great, food was good, nice beach, we were on the bottom floor so did get bugs in room but didn't bother us. We are already planning our trip for next year, can't wait

Love Blau!

We stayed for two weeks at Blau with Canjet and we were very satisfied. We usually go to 4.5-5 star resorts but took the chance and it was worth every penny and more. We didn't upgrade and loved being close to everything. No regrets.

Wonderful place for a holiday Our second trip.

Entertainment was provided every night and was very good Food was good and we especially liked the Italian al a carte We like being a little further away from the main building - close to a more private pool and very close to the scuba/snorkeling area. Our representative Marta was a terrific help and sent us on excursions we enjoyed very much.

Great resort

This was a great resort, very good food, especially the a la catres french and italian! Very good snorkelling and best beach on the strip. The plus section is worth the money will definitely return here for a third time and in cuba 13 times now. Love this country!!

Very good resort

Grounds could use more trees & foliage which they are starting to plant. Eating areas, pool areas & beaches where clean & very good. Lots of shady areas at beach. Snorkelling was excellent. Paid excursions were excellent. Staff & excursion guides were excellent.

Amazing Snorkelling

Loved this resort and would stay again. Stayed in the Plus section which was well worth the extra money. Grounds were very well kept. Rooms were clean and large. As this was our first time in Cuba I didn't really know what to expect in terms of the food - lets just say, you won't starve, but if you are picky eaters like our family, you will definitely not overeat. Not my best experience!

This is an excellent resort. Don't get me wrong. It's very clean, the staff, as usual, is fantastic and genuinely courteous. The resort however, has more occupants than it can service. I've been to many resorts, all over Cuba. I now tend to migrate to the Holguin side of the island. More specifically, Guardalavaca. Blau Costa Verde is approx. 15 kms from Guardalavaca. I always get a scooter for the week when I'm thee, as I love to visit the friends that I've made over the years. It's a 25 minute [... read more] scooter ride to Guardalavaca. The resort has the usual accommodations, buffet, a la cart dining, shops, excellent reception desk, nice pools, close beach access... But the lineups?? Wow!! Never in all my years, have I had to wait in line (average 30 minutes) for the BUFFET!!?? Ther are sooo many people at this resort. Too overcrowded!! Always a lineup to eat, get a drink, or what have you! I ended up going off the resort to local restaurants most of the time. This was my first time at this particular resort., and probably my last. It's not the resorts fault.. Just not MY cup of tea. It's a VERY popular place for French Canadians... Of which I'm not! If your reading this, and you've been to Cuba, you know what I'm saying! All in all, it was a good time,.. Beautiful room, (get the plus side) fantastic maid, the food is good, and typical, when you can get a seat that is, and the bars are well stocked,.. and knowledgeable bar staff. Muchos importantè!!

Excellent in all ways

The grounds were beautiful. The rooms great. The people very friendly and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The meals were fine, you could always find something to eat. The service by the wait staff and the people who prepared the food was wonderful. We had a great vacation. The bus ride was just right and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. We met and correspond with Jondi and Dani from the blau resort.

Great resort

Great resort,the beach is good with snorkelling right off the beach. Lots of shade on the beach, bar right on the beach. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The food was excellent with some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. This is our second time here and would like to go back .

Amazing resort!!

I loved the Blair plus rooms. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The service was excellent. Everyone is very friendly and accomodating. I have been at this hotel eight times and have had an excellent experience each time.

Great Family Resort

This hotel is very family oriented not good for young singles. The grounds are well maintained. We stayed on the Plus side and the room was very standard. The food is basic but found they use a large amount of oil in most dishes. Did not enjoy the red win at all, however the Spanish coffee was very good. The beach is very rocky, and you will need water shoes, bring snorkeling gear as it very good in this area. I also found that the hotel did not have a list of any activities for the week. Overall I would rate this resort as a 3, and would only recommend it to families who are on a strict budget. We spent most nights in our room by 9 because it was very boring.

My new home away from home

I loved it. The beach was beautiful. Our room amazing. The grounds so pretty. The BrandyAlexaders spectacular. But most of all love the staff Hugs to Alex and gang at Lobby bar, Mabel at the lunch beach service, and all the other wonderful staff that treated my friend and I like gold. See you next year. PS have pumpkin I missed it this year

Relaxing atmosphere

We are not fussy travellers so for us the hotel was great. The room was basic but clean and close to centre. We usually stay at small hotels that are few steps to restaurant and beach so this hotel was large for us with a bit more walking than we are used to but the grounds were beautiful and beach was amazing with tons of snorkelling. It was a mix of young and old travellers. I loved most of the night shows. Game centre could have used more games for kids (there was 1 air hockey table,1 pool table and 1 ping pong and it was almost impossible to play) Overall it was a beautiful resort and best bang for your buck! I would go back but I love Cuba...

Great Resort

The resort meet all my expectations. The food was excellent. The beach was nice but not the nicest that I have seen. Snorqueling was awesome. Beds were the biggest downfall very hard. Overall this was a great resort. Everything was close by except the beach a short walk which I didn't mind.

Best resort by far!

Hotel was very clean,staff was friendly,a smaller resort in what we like.great family resort,ages were from infants to 80 years,just a great place.Pools and beaches were right there,no walking any distances,at your finger tips.Shopping was 5 minutes away,meals were everything you would want,always a seletion ,if not more.Housekeepers were great,very friendly,and there every day.I would greatly give this resort a 10 or more.was the 2nd time at the same resort and just loved it!

Good value for your Money!

Just returned from Blau Coste Verde April 7th. There was a good selection of food, and most of the entertainment was good. I would get rid of the guitar player or limit his time before the pool show. Went on and on.. Should look into expanding wi fi services, free wi fi. Took 3 teenagers, and they missed wi fi. Bought cards so they could keep in touch. Catamaran and dolphin trip needs to have more traction mats, and up to date first aid kit. My husband slipped, and cut his head. They didn't have [... read more] the basic supplies, gauze etc. Would look into this excursion more with representative. Very slippery deck floors, but dolphin excursion was a highlight. A real thrill for the 5 of us. There was a animation intern Jondi (had a gold tooth) very pleasant, high energy young man. Needs a job as has a pregnant wife. I would recommend him as he was great with children and adults, and aqua fit.

Fantastic resort

This resort was recommended to us by a friend at work and he was right. The food was really great,friendly staff the best beach and snorkling Anywhere in Cuba and great bars everywhere you go.Stay in the plus side as the rooms are only two years old.

Pleased with the resort

We were very pleased with the resort. The grounds were clean and the pool and pool area were extremely clean. Rooms are basic (Holiday Inn type) but kept very clean. On the first night, we were on the first floor and had problems with ants. That is not surprising given that we are on a tropical island but we asked for a room on the second floor and it was not a problem. Next visit, I would request a room on the second floor or higher. Since we were in the plus side, we had access to the A la carte restaurants and the lobster dinner. The Italian and Spanish were good but I would not bother with the lobster dinner again. I would probably eat at the buffet more often and skip some of the restaurants. Service was excellent everywhere and drinks were quite good. VIP lounge is excellent. Beach and water was great. You do have to get up early to get a shaded spot on the beach and it was needed given the hot weather while we were there. Would return to the Blau again and would recommend it.

Somewhat disappointing

overall, this resort was disappointing...it started on arrival, with 2 busloads of people and only 2 staff working check in...1.5 hrs later we had our room at 1 am...the rooms were old, but comfortable, public toilets were small, run down, dirty and sometimes without toilet seats. The food was good for Cuba, the beach was beautiful, but lots of rocks in the water...entertainment was outstanding...loved the live bands...but the biggest disappointment was the staff...no eye contact, rarely smiled, [... read more] appeared to be bothered when you asked them anything, esp at the a la cartes...they seemed very busy, not enough staff, and they took it out on the guests;instead of laying the plate of food in front of my friend, they hurriedly dropped the plate to the side and rushed off...we just felt "in the way"
