Great Resort

I took my 7 year old son for a week and we had a great time. Very family friendly resort, the staff was amazing, room was clean. The only complaint we had was the food, there seemed to be the same things served daily.

I like it

This is my first resort vacation. I really like it. I finished my trip three days ago and I still feel good about it. In general, most of things is good. The room was quite clean and food option was lot. The beach was beautiful and the shows were good too. I was worried a lot before I went the resort and did not get the sleep for two nights. After I arrived there I found it was nice and people were very friendly . The check in was fast and some one helped us to get the room quickly , which was f [... read more]ar from the front, by the cart after 10 PM. I have a good experience over there. Be honest, the food was good and it was beyond my expectation. A lot of verity, I always could find the some I liked. It is true, there was fries on the food since the dinning room is open with the garden around. This is the big resort and with a lot of people it is not easy to see the every thing is perfect and every one is pleased. The staff generally are good. They are very friendly and nice. You don't have to give them tips if you don't want. They still will provide the good service to you especially in the dinning room. The manager in the dinning room is always doing his good job I watched him a lot. I am thinking if I want to have another vacation in Cuba in the future should I go another hotel to get a different experience or return to this one.

Ok Memeroies

We visited Memories Varadero on April 11th for 7 days. The Beach was awsome as usual and the grounds were Just ok. The Food was about a 7 out of 10 for Cuba. The only draw back was the constant attack of Fly,s at the dining tables. The Entertainment was pretty good at night and the shows were standard for the area. Weather was awsome but very hot. Service was standard Cuban, " in due time". The stall were not overly friendly with the exception of a few. We stayed in unit 35 close to the Beach which ment a 20 minute walk every time You has to eat. We Most likley Will not return to Cuba because of the nonsense at the airport, big pain in the butt .

Average Resort

Third time here but first time under Memories management. Food quality and variety is lacking. Ran out of plates at buffet several times and was a few minutes wait for more. Grounds are starting to deteriorate and not get fixed. Rooms are very tired looking . Had blood stained beach towels and went to get new ones and told there wasn't any. Was just an okay trip but most likely won't go back.

Great vacation!!!!!

Rooms were alright, service was good, Cubans are amazing. Couple things that I like.....firstly the bank never had pesos.....only threes & fives.....I don't mind giving but I should be the one deciding how much!!!!! That really annoyed me!!!!!Secondly we were ground level and every second day they would come 5am and spray pesticide for mosquitoes and the fumes would come in our rooms under &around the door leaving us having to breath this poison!!!!!!

Great Resort!

The hotel was nice, the rooms could have been a little nicer. All staff were friendly and kind. The beach was very beautiful and clean. The entire resort was very very clean. Overall very impressive. Enjoyed my stay.

Amazing resort!!!

Resort was beautiful pools were generally clean no garbage ever seen top maintenance maids were excellent food was to be expected. Locals were super friendly off resort. All staff was very caring and helpful and wanted to take care of you and do anything to allow you to enjoy your stay. Super friendly.

Beautiful Resort

The grounds were very well kept, with beautiful flowers and wooden sculptures. The lobby area was very clean and the staff were amazing!!! The rooms were not as nice as pictured online, but they were clean and comfortable!!! Would definitely go back again.

Great Vacation

Memories Varadero is good value for the money. The rooms are big and kept clean but they are in need of some repair which the management are improving everyday upon. The food is ok nothing to write home about but you don't go to Cuba for the food and you definitely will not starve. The beach is amazing and the pools are big and kept clean and they where warm while we were there. The people are amazing and always addressed any concerns we had.

Really nice Resort

This resort is huge. We stayed in building 32 which is really close to the beach and the main pool. It takes about 11 minutes to get to the main lobby by speed walking. The beach was beautiful, the staff is great. Don't be picky when it comes to the food. There are lots of options for food its just bland. I would go to the main buffet and stand in a small 5 minute line up and get fresh cooked pork or chicken, it was great. Catamaran boat cruise is a must. The island we had lunch on was amazing,  [... read more]the sand was so white that it hurt your eyes even with sunglasses on and the water was even more beautiful than Varadero.

I really enjoyed Cuba as it was my very first time. One of my biggest passions is traveling but I seam to always get sick:( Hotel was good, grounds were amazing. People of Cuba are also amazing. They are so kind. Extremely friendly and I never once felt as tho I was threatened in Cuba. I would love more than anything in the world to go back but I'm afraid of doing those really poor countries anymore. Although I got sick I still managed to pull through and have an amazing time. I was very impress [... read more]ed with traveling with Sunwing this time. They were amazing to me on my flight home. I recommend Cuba to everyone to experience at least once. For me the hotel which was a 5 star was about a 2 1/2 star when comparing it to Mexico. The thing that made a difference this time was the feeling of just being safe. :)

Deteriotated over the last two or three years.

Towels were not always clean. The toilet in 25116 did not flush well. Stocked bar advertized but only provided water. Many things were is disrepair. The hotel had deteriorated since our last visit two years ago and deteriorated since the year before. Maria the cleaning lady was very good. Jamie who looked after us in the buffet was very friendly and courteous. We liked the layout of the resort, the landscaping, and the friendly people who looked after us. The theater was great but no piano enter [... read more]tainment in the bar. The historic tour and the tour guide was good and informative. The lunch was terrible.

Would return!

Very nice hotel, would return. Pros: beautiful beaches, pools, waterslide, coffee bar, beach bar piña coladas, shower pressure, omelettes Cons: bland food (as expected for cuba, no one got sick, everyone found something to eat - pasta,omelets, fries), rooms are a bit dated (but had no issues with cleanliness or pests) I would recommend this resort and would go back again!

Great beach

The beach was amazing. De Nancy the lady who looked after our room was great. The main pool with the slide was great, the kids had a blast. The food at the buffet was okay at times. The chicken kebab that I had was under cooked, so was my hamburger. The lady cooking the omelets was super friendly and did a great job cooking. The lady that I dealt with at the exchange at the front of the resort was just plain nasty. I wanted to exchange some money for $1 peso with no luck. A memorable experience

Last week, my boyfriend and I attended memories varadero beach resort. We truly loved everything about our trip. The people, the environment and the surroundings were unforgetable. It was an amazing experience and a trip we will never forget!

Perfect vacation

Everything was great. No complaints at all. Beautiful grounds, beach with amazing staff. Great nighly entertainment and daily activities. This was our second time at this resort and would go again. Thanks

Average Resort

This was my second time at this resort. Overall we had a decent stay. The food has improved over the past 6 years since I was there last. The staff was very friendly and the entertainment was good. Having said that, the resort itself needs some work. Understanding that a lot of people go throught this resort every year so it tends to get weathered. Rooms needs some TLC, outside showers coming from the beach do not work for the most part. Public washrooms were clean but also need some work. Memories Varadaro

We had a wonderful time. The hotel is very well run and the staff are all so friendly and work so hard to make sure you have a great time. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The beach is beautiful, with lots of lounge chairs, never had a problem finding a spot on the beach with shad. The food is good and there is something for everyone. If you have kids, bring ketchup! rooms were ok public bathroos were a total mess water etc on floors no seat covers major plumibimg prolems peplewere nice weather was nice beach was njce kind of windy at times but beautiful lots of great music

Overall great facilities

Great week at Varadero. Pluses include wonderful beach, warm and helpful staff, good pools, and fun activities. Food was best at the restaurant close to the beach, but questionable at the main dining hall and at the Mexican and Italian restaurants -- cleanliness was dubious as well. Room was in great need of updating, while there were several things broken, the resort was quick to address the problems. Knowledgeable tour guide on our day trip to Havana.
