Great Holiday!

This was our fifth time at Ambar Blue and we again enjoyed our holiday. The food and of course, the staff were great. Although our room was well situated, it, along with the remainder need of a makeover. While the room was comfortable, and generally, operational, it is clearly time for a major update. We enjoy Ambar Blue and intend to return.

Much better than last year

The hotel grounds are gorgeous. The staff at the front desk need to take some customer service courses. Not impressed. The rooms are a little dated but the bathrooms need renovating. There was tape holding up the mirror, the shower backed up (disgusting), it was very hard to adjust the temperature of the water and was most of the time very hot, and the toilet kept running. We were here last year at the same time and the problems were exactly the same. I almost thought I had the same room.  [... read more] The bed was hard as a rock but we got used to it. The entertainment is 100% better, both in the lobby and by the pool. The food seemed a bit better as well. If the bathrooms were renovated, it would be a 5 star.

Amazing Resort

It is a huge resort provide a full variety of services, anything you wanted at a wonderful location, friendly staff, beautiful beach, clean rooms, good foods, entertainments, etc. We stayed for 5 wonderful nights.

Still a Nice Resort but if you pay for Luxury then it needs to always be top end!!

We have stayed at Bahia Principe Hotels on about 15 occasions ( at least 10 at what is now called Luxury Bahia Prinicpe Ambar), we have always spoken highly about this resort and the people who work here, and nothing has changed, still beautiful and the staff are amazing. We decided to come at a different time of year and this time (as always) we sent an email ahead of time to get a room in one of the buidlings that we like to stay in and book our dinners, none of this was done our room is right [... read more] next to what sounds like a night club ( as I am listening to right now) and nothing was booked as requested. I don't mind paying extra for an amazing place to stay but the new place next door ( Royalton Bavaro) looks really amazing , so maybe it is time to give it a try, we are going over for a tour tomorrow. Sorry Bahia , but upping the game is how to keep a top notch place word by word of mouth.

Wonderful Resort

This was our 11th time at the Ambar blue, have always enjoyed our stay and had a great time, met up with old friends and made new ones. We stayed two weeks and the weather was amazing, the best beach that is kept always clean.

Good Resort,

Hotel very nice. Adult pool just perfect for noise and games. Beach was good. food Good but Transat organization and check in was horrible and the hotel needed to somehow let people know about the theathre shows better. Lack or organization there too. Did not like the bar closing at 11:30 on the ambar blue and have to go all the way to the village. otherwise, the rooms, food and grounds were great.

Highs and lows

Check in was a disaster. the hotel hustled all airtransat passengers into a room but after filling out paperwork took us to the front desk anyway. They should have packages with room keys etc if they are trying to save time. Our rooms were not what we requested and in fact they said they did not receive one of our requests. Very disappointing that all th [... read more]e entertainment was off site and that the entertainment was sub-par. Having to pay for some premium drinks was also disappointing. The beach is too crowded with chairs as all complex guests must travel to the same spot. Not enough beach for the amount of guests. Weather was outstanding and food was good. Booking specialty restaurants was a challenge. When attending one that we had been told was completely booked, it was surprising to see that it was not full at all.

Amazing

This resort gets better each time! The staff went above and beyond our expectations. The rooms are well appointed. The food was exceptional, we went to multiple a la cartes and each was very good. They were out raking every day, all day to keep the beach clean of the seaweed debris. We definitely would return for our 4th time!

Food Poisoning

my husband and I became seriously ill with food poisoning during our stay in Luxury Bahia Principe Amber Blue resort, and it seems that we were not the only couple to get sick during the stay. its so unfortunate that a lot of people got sick because the resort that is supposed to be a 5 star luxury hotel served food which is NOT fit for human consumption and caused its clients pain and discomfort when they pay so much money on a 5 star hotel to relax and enjoy the weather and the facilities of t [... read more]he resort. for me I spent 5 days out of my 8 days vacation sick in the room

Very nice resort

Grounds were kept very well,food was good to very good,staff was pleasant,location is perfect,drinks were watered down,room was very good and cleaned well,pools were very good,great variety for all ages.

Very nice resort

Beautiful hotel, very clean. Grounds kept very well. Rooms very clean with everything provided Building 64 close to pool/beach. Staff at every level were very professional and helpful. Ambar Blue and Ambar Green had great buffets, we didn't go elsewhere. (Food in individual restaurants not too impressive.) Some of us had dietary restrictions so the managers in both places were very quick to accommodate us. The beach was totally amazing!!

A Great Time!

A beautiful resort with well kept beaches and gorgeous accommodations. Food is good and all attempts are made to avoid any buffet boredom. A la carte choices were varied and easy to book into. With several minor exceptions service was excellent and all staff were friendly and courteous. We would definitely consider going back.

Amber Blue Old rundown disappointing

Hydro goes out, Tv does not work, air conditioning did not work properly, room was beat up run down, smells of mold, beach was nice, food was good. We changed ROOMS 3 times until we moved to Amber green which was better but not 5 star. Resort was huge staff did not know where shows were difficult to find. Shuttles to beach or restaurants were not always available as they would only take you to certain areas we met at least 10 other travelers that had trouble as well. Great Resort

The resort is great, food is excellent, waiters and waitresses were awesome, pool and beach is beautiful, pool entertainers were fantastic. The grounds are well kept. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the entertainment in the lobby finished at 10:30pm every night and the bar in the lobby closed at 11:00 pm every night, so if you wanted later entertainment you had to go to the other resorts and the staff isn't able to print off schedules of what is going on at the other resorts.

Beautiful resort

Spent 3 night luxury Bahia prencipay Amber blue . Food was good. The staff was great.Beautiful resort. Really enjoyed the entertainment at the lobby in the evening.Ground very well maintained, clean, beautiful. Customer Service very poor .

Decent resort

Foodwise not the best but some ok la carte restuarants with the best one being Maika the japanese restaurant Pool was warm and ok but i got ear infection the last day so dont go too deep in water just float around if you ask me. Overall I recommend this place if you dont want to spend too much money for vacation

Had a great time

everything was great other then beach and transat security. they put the wrong luggage tags on the wrong bags. spent a hour in security each. in punta cana. I will go back any time. other than that no problem.

Excellent services and great resort

The rooms were clean. The food was great all facilities were clean. Excellent resort I would recommend this resort. We had a great time. We also enjoyed ala cart restaurants including Italian and Brazilian.

Our 40th wedding anniversary

Hotel was awesome. From the time we arrived, where we received VIP treatment, to our room which had a Happy Anniversary banner and a nice bottle of champagne and chocolates then to lunch and several drinks. Staff were wonderful (especially Ruth, Jose, Omar and Kevin), grounds well kept and restaurants and buffets had lots of variety. Never a problem getting loungers either st the pool or beach. Never waitied long for drinks where ever we were. Some had issues with their A/C and TV remote. Have t [... read more]o say we never had an issue. Highly recommend the resort for relaxation or high impact activities which we enjoyed both.

Resort amazing but service not good

We have been to this resort seven times and usually everything has been wonderful. The resort itself is amazing, the people friendly. The grounds are kept very well.but we were disappointed this time with the service. Both in our rooms and in restaurants. Very slow service or room not kept up with towels etc.
