Iberostar Selection Holguin: Great Stay

We stayed at Iberostar Selection Holguin. Hotel was beautiful, rooms are big, bright and super clean. Service was amazing. Beach and pool were absolutely stunning. Entertainment was nice, they are trying to make your stay fun for sure. Dining was average, however that's not a fault of the hotel, it's due to the food shortage that all of Cuba has. having said that, we did not sleep hungry, and we always found something nice to eat. Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Canadian business

We alway love the beach and people of Cuba they smile and friendly service us even the weather there are alway hot: Beach are clean, the only thing we would love to stay longer at lease 10 to 2 week vacation but alway one week is enough there are not much activities. Plus the younger age would not like to come back for second time: because of the activities are not suit for younger age,. Thank a lot

Sol Turquesa Beach: Forest Paradise!

This is a return trip from 2007 visit. The hotel is one of the most beautiful and unique compared to most other places I visited. This hotel for the people who appreciate the beautiful architecture, space, lots of greenery and family like feeling. Wi-fi is available everywhere, including the the beach. The Hotel was closed for Covid and renovations for 4 years and still doesn't have many people visiting since opening 6 months ago.. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Incredible Resort!!

One of the best girls trips I've ever taken ! It was myself and 2 other girls. This is an incredible resort!!! Our room was very clean & well maintained, a/c worked well. The bathroom was nice, modern and had good water pressure in the shower. The staff were all super friendly, kind and attentive. The entertainment at Sanctuary was different than other resorts I've been to.... They don't have the typical performances like magic night or whatever, which I was used too.... They perform in a more party-style which we found to be a refreshing change ( & preferred to the typical shows we expected.)... as the entertainment staff have a great energy, made us feel included & can actually dance!!! My friends and I were super impressed!! Yankiel is an amazing dancer and hosts the parties with such charismatic and infectious energy. The music here is also amazing, shout out to the dj !!! The beach party was one of our faves!! Overall, it's clean, well maintained, friendly staff & theres great entertainment!! Would definitely recommend this resort !!

Starfish Guardalavaca: Amazing Quiet Location

Villas 1 was amazing, 2min. to the beach, ocean view with a connecting door between 2 room we had! Amazing staff ( from A-Z) Public relation on both places were perfect trying to help yet they are slowly dividing Starfish from Club Amigo! I have no words for a bad comment. Excellent food was served at the Benny restaurant with a menu and a buffet breakfast! Atlantico hotel had Buffet all the time with a variety to choose from! Grand Memories Holguin: It's an okay Resort.

Employees- they are very nice Rooms- The one that we have is good, especially the view Buffet- Food is okay, just remember they have food shortages so you will find that they have the same food almost everyday. Washrooms on the resort- it's clean but has a little bit of smell. Pools- they have very nice pools, just needs a little bit of cleaning. Over all we enjoyed our stay.

Playa Costa Verde: Nice but needs improvements

The resort, although older is nice for the most part. The beach was beautiful and the staff was nice. There were certain basics that were missing. For one, the plumbing did not work for two nights and one could not flush the toilet. The patio door to our room did not lock properly. There was also no bottled water on one day. There were also few days were there were no eggs only egg substitute. The issue with that was that there was no real good alternative for breakfast. Lunches and din [... read more]ners, although not spectacular were ok and there was something decent to eat. I do not recommend the so called restaurants. They use the same limited ingredients as in the buffet. The Japanese restaurant offered fried rice with canned veggies and some fried meat for example. Not really Japanese. Everyone went to the buffet afterwards. As I said, the staff of the hotel was nice, the grounds are also nice and the rooms big. The beach was gorgeous and offers kayaks and pedal boats. Keep in mind, that the beach is public and there are many locals on the weekends.

I just come back from my trip and I had such a great time with my Mom. From the moment we got to the resort we had warm welcome from the staff at the hotel. Everything went smoothly and fast. Our room was beautiful with the amazing view. All staff is so friendly and helpful. Our butler Ramon was the best. He was always there for us when we needed him. Buffet was very good with the variety of food which I enjoyed. Beach was perfect with lots of greenery and beautiful water.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Amazing Family Vacation

This resort exceeded our expectations! We had a wonderful week as a family of 4! The hotel itself is beautiful (grounds, pools and rooms). Our room was always clean and the beds were comfortable. The kids pirate ship pool was a great bonus. The food is good, a little repetitive but delicious. The Indian A La Carte was our favourite! The beach is gorgeous! Crystal blue, shallow, calm water! Paradisus Rio De Oro: No better place in Cuba

This was our 5th trip to Paradisus Rio de Oro. Our last time was in 2019 so it was great to get back. The resort has everything we need but the main thing that keeps us coming back is the people. We have made some life-long friendships with staff members, many who we've kept in touch with over our 5 year absence. After a disappointing 2 hour check in, the rest of our trip was amazing. We expected the food might not be what we experienced in previous years, but there was always plenty to eat at the buffet and the pizza at the pool restaurant is one of our go tos .... We had great a la carte experiences at the Japanese, Mediterranean and Cuban restaurants as well as an amazing dinner in the Royal Service restaurant, set up for us by one of their awesome staff. The beach is the same beautiful beach we remember and the pool is amazing. After being away from our favorite resort it was a well needed return that we will cherish until we get back again. I can't say enough again about the staff...always doing whatever they can for you and I value so much the friendships we have made there. I just wish some of the guests would see what we see in them and maybe treat them a little better....not just with tips... No question that we will continue going to this resort...why would we want to go anywhere else?

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great staff.

We had a wonderful time at this resort. It was our first time. Our house keeper Inoralvis was fantastic. All the hardworking servers bartendes and staff in the kitchens. Carlos, Mario, Melissa, Osmund, Angel and many more. Were so welcoming. The staff that stood out for us at this place were the Gardeners. Roberto, Jorge and Junior. They were kind and generous, and went out of their way to make this trip wonderful. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Amazing Hotel

Everything about the hotel is excellent—service, amenities, and accommodations are top-notch. However, the ocean right by the hotel leaves much to be desired. The waters are unusually rocky and heavily cluttered with seaweed, which can make swimming or lounging by the beach less enjoyable. This particular stretch of the ocean is not as pristine as one might hope, which somewhat diminishes the overall experience.

Playa Pesquero: Great resort

The resort was great, staffs were friendly . Beach is beautiful and clean. There wasn't much shows or activities during our 7days stayed sadly. Food: there are lot of foods but some were good, some were blanc. Not much of fruits there, seems like they feed us what available from their growth. So we have papaya, pineapple , mango and some can fruits daily. Pool: pool there is for dipping, not swimming since they are only 1meter deep :). The room: even if this was state as 5 stars hotel. Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Average resort

Let me start with, we all know Cuba is not really known for their food so getting that out of the way. Food here is delicious what little they do have and mostly the meat and beans. There is not a huge variety or meats and if you are a vegetarian or dont eat Pork then your choices are even more limited. The salads are the same everyday, there is fish at lunch and dinner. Breakfast has eggs everyday with pancakes you have to wait in line to get and they are hard. Anyway in a nutshell, food is ok. [... read more] There is just too many salads and aromatic oils. I survived on rice and bread some days. Same goes for snack bar. If u dont eat pork then u cannot have the hotdogs or beef burgers so it was just fries for us which were double fried and hard. Getting to drinks, they were so watered down. The choices were just wine, beer or juice. There was no pop and the one day we got coke, it was like sweet syrup and completely flat. We stuck to pineapple juice throughout even tho i tried other juices. Tamarind was ok and i must say the ice coffee at the lobby was really good. The a la carte restaurants I went to were Indian, Asian and Italian. You don’t get menus, everyone gets the same tray which is sort of like “thali” and assortment of dishes. They were good I must say but the roti was hard and rubberlike. Everything else tasted good. Asian restaurant was good. The ambience was nice and entertaining. Food was good. Italian was ok, the idea of an appetizer bar is good, just wish they had labels on what there was. The waiters speak so fast it was hard to understand but overall i would say average. You do have to book these restaurants early as soon as u get there as they get booked pretty fast. We were lucky as we eat early so took the first time slot at 6:30pm. We did find they we were hungry around 4:30 but nothing for us to eat so luckily i had some nuts and granola bars to munch on before dinner. Ok food done, now on to the beach which is lovely. Water is lovely but might suggest u have swim shoes as the ocean has a lot of rocks and broken coral even in the shallow end. You have to find a clear spot and then stay there. Getting a seat is obviously always a challenge everywhere so we always got to the beach at 8:45 and got the second row. We stayed till about noon, then left and went to the pool after lunch. Towel service is shitty I must say. We got a towel the first day which is in our room and used it the next day. Changed it a day later and after that everytime i went to change it was closed as they were out of towels. We went 4 days without a clean towel and due to humidity the towels were not drying well so they started to smell. Considering its classified as a 5 star this was disappointing. Seats at pools were reserved sometimes from the night before as we would notice some items still there the next day which is so not fair as sometimes people went on excursions and their items stayed there all day. There are lifeguards and there is a pool bar with the same watered drinks. There is a juice bar which is half decent. The pineapple juice there was way better than the rest of the bars although we realized after that the person that was making them was a substitute and when the actual employee for that bar returned it was just average. It is made fresh so I give that bonus points but not what we are used to but atleast better than the watered down juices. The games and entertainment was ok. There was kids games and activities for adults to participate but not a whole lot of participation as people just wanted to relax and chill. I have to say their microphones are damn loud and they sound like they are screeching. Ok night shows, so aqua show is good, i havent seen that before so that was well done. The white night is basically ballet with them dressed in white and international show is basically white night with colourful clothes. Then there was pirate night which i thought was gonna be fun as they asked us to wear swimsuits well it was just a band singing by the pool. It was all in Spanish and their voices were good but once again the microphones are so loud and i dont know music language but they were screeching almost. Then the power went out during the third song and it took a while to get it back. Also just fyi the fire alarm goes off at all hours of the day and night due to people smoking in buildings. That is annoying as heck as they are loud and if u are a light sleeper then you will be awake every night. Our first day we asked for wifi and were told we would get it next day and i was adamant as i needed to reach my kids so they gave me someone else’s which was ok. Then the next day i was asked to wait and is was not working but people i met said they got it. Anyway I finally got it and its very spotty so if u are a person that needs wifi constantly then this would not be for u. It does disconnect after a while when inactive and u have to log on again everytime. I did use the spa. Prices are high but the massage was really good. Worth it. We picked two excursions, swim with dolphins which was my first time and amazing. And we picked the farewell city tour as we had a late flight and no point hanging around the hotel with our carry ons. There was an advantage to this as we then get VIP boarding and lounge and can relax and have some drinks etc which were included. There is not a whole lot of food i have to say. Buns, tuna, mayonnaise, slice meet, olives and crackers and apple jam. Since i dont eat meat (pork) and dont like tuna i had the crackers bread and jam. Lol. Also we noticed there was a bit of mold starting in places like the hallway to the indian restaurant, our washroom in the room as well as the baggage room etc so since this resort is fairly new it has gotten away with that but im sure as years go by they will have to fix that. Overall the vacation was good just be prepared and have some snacks with u if u are a vegetarian or someone who doesnt eat pork. I wouldn’t classify this resort as a 5 star. I went last year to a 4 star resort and it was way better than this so I would put it at 4 star. If you have read all this you should know I take everything with a grain of salt and experience it all on my own. This was my experience that I mentioned above just in detail bcoz sometimes it’s nice to know before I go. I have been to various Cuba resorts so I know not to expect much in terms of food etc. Did I enjoy, yes! Would I go back here probably not. Only because Ive been to better places thats all.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Amazing Resort!

It was a great family vacation from June 25-July 2 2024. The Hotel Sol Rio de Luna y Mares is probably the best resort we visited in Cuba. Very well maintained, clean, perfect layout. Everything is close: lobby bar, pool, restaurants, beach. Beach is amazing (Playa Esmeralda), lots of natural shade, very good place for snorkeling. Food was good (lots of variety), entertainment was good (could be a little longer at night, finishes at 10pm), service was very good, staff was very friendly and we [... read more]lcoming, they go extra mile to make you feel appreciated. We will definitely come back and probably make this resort our Cuban vacation destination in the future.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Above average hotel

Clean new hotel. Beautiful beach, swimming pools. Dining areas are convenient large and plenty food. Will not recommend any of the a la carte restaurants. Excellent and friendly staff. Will visit again.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amazing Weather

Overall, my experience at the hotel was excellent, with outstanding customer service, a beautiful beach, great weather, and enjoyable entertainment options. The only downside was the significant noise disturbance from loud people and music, particularly between midnight and 4 in the morning.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Amazing Time

We had a few reservations about going to Cuba with a lot of the reviews we had read, but this place had fantastic reviews. Everything was amazing from check in to check out. The Iberostar Coral Level is for adults only and is next to the Iberostar Selection which is for families. Coral Level has access to both resorts. I read a lot of reviews and they varied in their descriptions of this place. We were there from June 21 - June 28 2024 and this is what we experienced. There are 5 buildi [... read more]ngs with 12 rooms in each one. Each building has 4 Junior suites on the ends, upper floor and ground floor and they are clean and beautiful. They have a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, a king size bed, wall mounted TV, sitting area with a desk and chair as well as a chaise lounge and small coffee table, a large closet with lots of hangers and a safe. The AC was the best we've had anywhere. All of the rooms have two loungers on the balcony or terrace with the Junior suites also having a table and chairs. The only difference between the two is on the ground floor the shower is outside not inside. The pool is gorgeous spanning across all of the buildings. There are 20 Bali beds and 3 other semi covered structures and lots of loungers and chairs. We never had any issues with getting a Bali bed but we were there in low season. There is a swim up bar and a couple of jacuzzi tubs behind the pool bar on a terrace. The beach is shared with the Selection side but again we had no issues with finding a lounger but I would imagine it would be different at full capacity. There is a beach bar and a small grill area for hamburgers and hotdogs but is only open at certain times. There is also a larger beach across a bridge which has a small bar, washrooms and it is also where the water equipment is(paddle boats etc.). I tried snorkeling but there wasn't much to see. At the Coral Level there is a 24 hour bar and a restaurant that serves A la Carte breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every morning there were eggs, bacon, sausage, hot cakes, fresh fruit, omelets, pastries etc. At lunch there was chicken, pork and fish dishes, salads, soups, pastries etc. For dinner there were various appetizers, pork, chicken and Lobster tails which we had at every meal we ate here. Our favorite appetizer was the fried cheese with pineapple sauce, simple but oh so good. There are 3 other A la Carte restaurants at the Selection side, the Gourmet, Mediterranean and Japanese and also a buffet. We ate at the Japanese which was decent and the Gourmet which was very good. My wife had the stuffed chicken legs which she liked and I had the Cordon Bleu Pork which was fantastic, cooked absolutely perfect and I could eat it every day. The service at both was fantastic. We ate at the buffet for lunch twice, once being Cuba day where there was pork that was grilled on a spit over charcoal and it was so tasty especially the chichiron (skin). There was pizza, pasta, fresh meats and cheeses, salads, a grill station, lots of other meat and vegetable dishes, fruit, ice cream, deserts and lots of different breads. Again great service. There is also a 24 hour snack bar on the Selection side that had Ham and Cheese sandwiches, pizza, Tuna sandwiches, burgers and hotdogs with it varying day to day. We actually never ate here. The service was amazing and genuinely friendly everywhere. Sorry we can't remember everyone's name but who we can are, Carlos the pool entertainment, so friendly and energetic with a fantastic voice and a great guitar player, Alexander, Dianne(pool bar not sure if I spelled it right), Hector, all of the bar tenders, Junior, Laritza, Augusto. Everyone in the Coral Level restaurant was beyond amazing, our maid was super friendly and kept our room super clean and provided some fantastic towel art. The pool maintenance team, gardeners, life guards and front desk all again fantastic and so genuinely friendly. We don't really visit resorts twice but we cannot wait to go back.

Starfish Guardalavaca: Amazing Resort

I cant say anything bad about the Villas at Club Amigo always a pleasure going there being my 3rd trip there this year, location, staff, ground keepers, weather all was wonderful, beach was amazing, coffee bar wonderful and 4th floor bar great drinks and wonderful view
