Melia Las Dunas: Amazing beach

Drive from Airport is 1:30 min, gives you a chance to see the villages on the way. Beach is amazing, food was nothing too exciting, we only had eggs 2 days out of 7. No shortage of toilet paper, except the lobby’s bathroom. Hot water was not available most days. Not enough beach chairs and shades during march break people used to reserve them as early as 4 am. Take snacks in case they run out of food. Staff are very kind and friendly. Place was nice and clean.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful resort!

We had the best time at the Royalton in Cayo Santa Maria. The attention to detail and customer service is second to none. The food was excellent with numerous options each day. The beach is amazing and there was never an issue finding lounge chairs or a cabana for the day. This hotel provides each room with butler service. The butlers go out of their way to attend to all of your needs and the managers are constantly checking in with all guests. We will return without question!

Melia Las Dunas: Terrible resort

Terrible food, very run down, dirty, unsanitary, poor customer service. 2 bath towels for 4 people and we were made to reuse them all week. Shower didn't work, no soap or toilet in any public washroom including the one closest to our buffet. Never any beach or pool loungers available or shade areas left unless you wake up at 5:30am to reserve. Resort is massive and no trolleys. No maps around the resort to help guide you. We had eggs for 2 days then they ran out. No red meat except for a little  [... read more]veal stew 3 times. No fries, burgers, chicken fingers for kids. Most days we waited in 40min line up for pasta station. Buffet didn't have enough seating so we often had to sit separated from our family of 4! This place should not be considered an all inclusive at all. Most mornings all they had was old, stale bread and left over food from dinner the night before. Beach was amazing but besides that-Worst vacation of our lives! I will never go back!!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Excellent Resort

I sent a previous review, but I don't think it went through....so here it is again. We spent 10 days at Royalton Sante Maria (March 2024) and were taken back by what we experienced. The resort was more than we expected. Our room was great, very clean and looked after superbly by the cleaning staff. The two butlers we had; Andrew & Ariel were so helpful and provided us with everything we requested. All service people were (English speaking) and conducted themselves perfectly and made your feel most welcome. Special 'kudos' to Leo the Entertainment Manager who turned out to be a super friend. He provided the guests in the main lobby with various entertainment ensembles each night. And, Danillo in the Jungle bar was so nice to us and even provided a cribbage board for me to beat my wife on. The beach area was beyond beautiful - the nicest beach we ever had the chance to enjoy in our 21 yrs of traveling in the Islands. The food was very acceptable. You could always find something that pleased you, especially pizza for lunch and soup for dinner accompanied with various meat / salad selections. Hats off to Alex (resort manager) and his management staff who took total care of everything in making us feel special. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Not recommended

Hotel take 2 hours to be accommodated Hygiene problem at buffet since it was an open space where birds an insects with limited amount of food Hotel say the Snack bar open 24/7 (its a joke ) False advertisement about excelsior VIP package No coffee/tea machine at the room Phone is not working and you need to walk to the lobby every time you have issue

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: We had a great time!

Gorgeous beaches, beautiful grounds, fantastic pools, clean and spacious room. Family friendly. If you stick with the Cuban food it is good; the western food could use some improvement. Friendly staff but not always responsive to requests, e.g. asked for pillows for all 4 of us but they never came. Overall, I would go back.

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Nice small resort.

Rooms very comfortable, freshly renovated ,modern bathrooms, Hot water -no problem. Fantastic beach, with long naturist section. Plenty of palapas and sun beds. Food; repetitive and could use some improvement. Zero eggs for breakfast for whole week. Same everywhere in Cuba. Bar; relaxing but not always fully stock.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Awesome Hotel

Very friendly staff, if giving tips, don't give coins, only paper whether in Canadian or US Dollars. Check-in arrivals or departures should have more people behind counter. We waited almost 3 hours before getting our room and were provided WIFI details the morning after. WIFI access was pretty good, although intermittent was able to access on the beach. Food was adequate, a la carte restaurants were limited in choice selections but was adequate as well. Would definitely recommend and go back

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Exceeded my expectations

The service at this resort from front dest to wait staff was outstanding. Our room was modern, great AC and ceiling fan, large shower which always had hot water and our mini fridge stacked with beer and bottles of water. Air Canada sponsored a poolside dinner for all who travelled with them. There is a grill by the quiet pool open 1-3. We usually had lunch there. An open air restaurant with bar service. Three menu items..chicken & rice with side salad, fish & rice with side salad or a panini sandwich. Always delicious. Over by the party pool is another snack bar with bar service , you can get pizza, hot dogs and hot chicken sandwiches, I only had the sandwich one time and it hit the spot. Numerous bars scattered throughout the property . Our room was in the main building which was perfect and close to everything. No issues with pool or beach chairs. Beach is absolutely stunning and very large. I’ve been to Cuba 30+ times and was definitely concerned about some of the reviews I was reading and worried about the shortages mentioned over and over. Hands down this is the best resort staff, beach and room wise . The food was no different than any other time I’ve been in Cuba.

We took our 3-year-old son for his first all-inclusive trip. The resort, staff and all-around experience was great and one we will not forget. However, our travel day home was a nightmare. Our Sunwing flight was delayed 3 hours forcing us to sit at the Cuban airport for 5+ hours before boarding. Once landed we were told to wait onboard the plane for another 40 minutes before allowing us to clear customs. Travelling home with a small child made for a stressful & unpleasant travel day home. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Resort Overall

Overall this is a great resort and suited my friends and I wonderfully. The only real shortage was wine otherwise something at the buffet for everyone - grounds, beach, pool all excellent. A la carte restaurants not exceptional but provide a good alternative to the buffet. We stayed in the Sanctuary section and worth the additional cost. Staff courteous and friendly.

Iberostar Coral Ensenachos: Beautiful resort

Beautiful very clean rooms, pool lobby and dining room. Staff were amazing and very friendly and helpful. Beach was lovely. Special evenings like dining in the beach and by the pool were wonderful and it’s because of the hard work of the staff. They are to be commended.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely Resort!

This resort was truly lovely. Most of the staff was fantastic, especially Victor the activities coordinator. He is simply the BEST! The rooms were big and clean with plenty of hot water. The grounds were well kept and so gorgeous. They work so hard to keep this place spotless! They were only at about 20% capacity which was nice. It was quiet. Would recommend bringing your own snacks and some peanut butter for your morning toast...the bread is always fresh! We had a really wonderful week at the Dhawa resort :)

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Grounds, Incredible Beach

The hotel is very well managed. Important to note, this is a 5* for CUBA. There are definitely shortages of food/drinks, toilets break down regularly, all toilet paper must be placed in waste baskets, room smells like sewage. Rooms are very large and comfortable, though tired. These are nobody's fault; this is just realistic for Cuba. The staff are incredibly hardworking and friendly. Having said that - there are MANY repeat travelers which reflects well on the resort but can feel a bit cult [... read more]like and if you're a first time guest you tend to feel a little 'less than'. Not a big deal. One evening, the table beside ours sent their food back because it came out 'cold'. Not something we would ever do. The general manager Alejandro and the chef came out and spoke to us, asking how the food was and advising if I didn't like anything to def. just send it back. The chef was shooting daggers - this was at Eggscellent. I didn't understand, yet, that he misunderstood and thought we were the couple that sent the food back. Again in the evening he approached and asked if everything turned out being okay and it was okay to send the food back. I explained it wasn't us who'd sent it back but he wasn't listening and just carried on walking. That morning, at 5 am, we received a room service order that we hadn't ordered, so - loud knocking at 5 am. I didn't think at first that this was related - and I hope not. You will not find a more beautiful beach at his cost so if that is your priority and you don't mind overlooking some shortages, okay food and tired but clean and spacious rooms, this is it. While it is a beautiful resort, I wouldn't return. Would give beach/pools 5* but lower pool is cloudy and not clean as the top pool is. The beach is a 10 out of 5.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Good for the price

The beach is gorgeous, the sand is white and not hot, the activities on the beach and by the pool are great. The staff are amazing and friendly. The maids keep the rooms clean and the water boy comes and adds more water to the mini fridge daily. The entertainment was great. The items that had shortages were toilet paper, in the rooms and in public bathrooms. The public bathrooms were dirty, and the men’s washroom in the lobby was closed so the women’s was shared. The buffet was Cuba  [... read more]food, lots of chicken, pork, rice and wieners. There was powder eggs and shortage of bread at some points. I knew going in that the food wasn’t the greatest so I brought spices and peanut butter, jam, syrup, and spices. We did have to move rooms when we first arrived at the room was not clean, and the toilet seat was round but the toilet was square. Just remember in Cuba the toilet paper does not go down the toilet it goes into the trash can.

Melia Las Dunas: Great

Older hotel but clean and the grounds are beautiful ! Beach is stunning ! Lobby had great drinks and coffee , very big and lots of different seatings. Food was good never went hungry , rice pudding was delicious. Pasta , beef, pork, fish everything was fresh and plentiful.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort experience

Valentin Perla Blanca is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there. The bars were stocked, food was good especially the a la cartes and the grill at the beach. The beachfront is amazing and the entertainment was very good. Hope to return soon.

Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful place

The hotel is definitely showing it s age but overall it is still a beautiful resort. The grounds are beautifully keep. The staff is amazing. Shout out to Debis, Lissetty and Alexander in the buffet. They go out of their way to make you feel so special. The lobby bar has amazing Bartenders such as Yoisnel Martin, Lilianis Rodriguez and Saile Orea Cabrera. Always smiling and so happy. Our maid Alina was always smiling very happy and went out of her way to say hello. There were some food shortages but always something to eat. You are never hungry. Overall this is a beautiful resort with amazing beaches and beautiful people.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Cuba’s 5 Star Resort = Regular 4 Star Resort

The first thing you should know is that Cuba is a communist country that is experiencing a severe food crisis. In addition, the Cuban government controls almost everything in the country, including those resorts. Because Cuba's tourism industry is government-controlled, it has no competition. After you learn this, limit your expectations and especially if you consider getting a 5-star service from these resorts. However, again, if you keep your expectations low, it shouldn’t be a problem. Moreover, they do not sell zero/diet sodas and serve Cuban-made Cola which has a peculiar taste. Aside from all that, Cuban white sandy beaches are beautiful. If you are traveling with children under 18 or non-adults, be cautious and do your research since their major food portion contains alcohol. In the future, if I travel to Cuba, I will go alone or just with friends, keeping my expectations lower. Thanks for reading.

Melia Buenavista: Very Nice Vacation!

Beautiful resort! Staff members are efficient, very kind, and professional. Three unique and different beaches. We went swimming at the main and middle beaches. Snorkeling was good too. The sunset beach is meant for its beauty at sunset and for amazing walks. Further down, possibility of swimming. Be ready for low tides, at that point the preferred beach is the main one. Beautiful clear turquoise water. Two pools, one more for relaxing and the other, more for entertainment and bar service. Water [... read more] was cool but was quite refreshing on hot days. Very satisfied with massages received at spa. Room a bit outdated but it was clean and big enough. Comfortable bed and pillows. Bathtub/ jacuzzi was more for one person. Concierge service was very good! Outside shower nice but when it’s cold or raining outside, not very practical. Food, drinks, and hospitality were good too. Shortages were at its minimal during our stay, early February. Butter, bacon and a few days without eggs were not a deal breaker. Loved the buffet options for breakfast and lunch with à la carte option. We were very impressed by the St. Valentine dinner; food, music, entertainment, service, outside setup … All excellent! Very impressive! We are considering returning at some point!
