The resort was superb. Clean, modern and the staff were wonderful. The pools were excellently maintained and the beaches were close by and clean. The rooms were clean, comfortable, with air conditioning and a fan, bathroom and shower were great, beds comfortable and nice balcony. One of the most enjoyable parts was the food. The buffets and the restaurants had excellent choices and great quality. We will definitely return!

Occidental Tamarindo: Our second visit was a disappointment...

This was our second year in a row going to the occidental tamarindo. Things have gone drastically downhill. There are next to no staff anywhere, so the service was very poor. Tables full of dirty dishes, long lines to the beach bar. Dirty and broken beach loungers. But the deciding factor as to why this will be our last visit was the food. It was actually awful this time. The meat and fish was at times inedible. Such a disappointment as we really loved this place last year. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this resort. 🙁

CC Beach Front Papagayo: A beautiful little jewel!

wonderful resort. quiet, lush grounds, friendly and attentive staff, fantastic food, just perfect for a relaxing getaway. 2 pools and the beach provided plenty of area to relax. Staff extremely attentive and always cheerful. Site, restaurant and rooms were always spotless.

Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo: Fun and Relaxing!

Margaritaville is a beautiful, fun resort. The location is perfect, with the beach just steps away and a small town offering many different restaurant options right outside the gate. I was a bit disappointed when the music ended at 10pm on friday night. Otherwise our stay was fabulous, the staff on the resort were friendly and extremely helpful! Our poolside Gardenview room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Hotel Villas Playa Samara: Amazing Resort

It was an amazing resort food was good had lots of choices and options. They also had a Lacarte which was very good and I definitely recommend that everybody go there the pools were wonderful and clean and the staff was great and always helpful but especially the bartenders they were amazing.

CC Beach Front Papagayo: Most amazing hotel

Almost dont want to write this review as we would love to keep the Casa Conde a secret. The staff are amazing. They truly bend over backwards to accommodate you and make you happy. The place has a relaxed colonial vibe. Dont expect fancy marble and glass. Fantastic pools both with swim up bars with amazing bartenders. Rustic beach that staff will set you up in a chair under the trees before grabbing you a drink. Amazing food, mostly buffet but things are cooked to order and not repeated. No nigh [... read more]tlife but the place is so small we knew all the guests and enjoyed just socializing in the sport bar in the evening. We found the Casa Conde the most amazing place.

Hotel Villas Playa Samara: Dream resort

Our resent trip to Costa Rica was absolutely amazing. The resort was so friendly and welcoming. The beach was nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. Very quiet and long as the eye can see. The town Samara is magical, small surf town with so many places to eat and enjoy breathtaking sunsets.

Azura Beach Resort Samara: Beautiful Resort

Azura Resort – Staff – excellent/friendly, food - excellent/variety, property – excellent. Costa Rica – yah, we could live there. People friendly, Town of Samara – a nice walk and fun. Ocean clean/warm and beautiful sunsets. Costa Rica excursion – we booked through Azura Resort – Volcano, Zip Line and Hot Springs Spa. Unbelievable. Long drive to get there, but well worth it.

Azura Beach Resort Samara: So quiet and relaxing.

This resort is beautiful and quiet. If you are looking for a party resort do not go here. If you are looking for friendly service, beautiful rooms and a peaceful place to rejuvenate you won’t be disappointed.

Azura Beach Resort Samara: Beautiful resort with superior staff

Beautiful hotel, everything very new. All staff were extremely personal and always willing to please. Food was very good with good variety. Highly recommend the day trip to zip line near the Arenal Volcano, despite a long drive there/back, well worth it.

Planet Hollywood Costa Rica: Great Resort

Planet Hollywood is a very nice resort. The rooms are fantastic and the property is well taken care of. One of the big downfalls during our stay was that there were multiple groups from Johnstone that were on the resort at the same time as we were there. There were special events that paying guests were not allowed to attend as this was for the Johnstone group only. It was annoying that you felt segregated after spending a lot of money for the vacation. Also the beach was very small and not many used it.

Azura Beach Resort Samara: Amazing Resort

Great resort, small but in a big way. Staff was amazing as was the food. Lots of care and consideration for the guest experience. A little get away from from everything. Nice little towns you can walk to along the beach. Staff made sure you enjoyed it.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Amazing Resort

Amazing all inclusive resort with great food and lots of activities. Kids love the pool and water park. The room is pretty big and internet service is fast. Seeing howler monkeys in the trees beside the resort is one of highlights of the trip.

Fiesta Resort: Fiesta All Inclusive Costa Rica

I found this resort to be not exactly as advertised. I stayed in the premium section which was better but the regular side of the resort did not have balconies on their rooms or hot water. The premium side was overrun with locals who come into the resort on weekends (even though the premium side is supposed to be exclusive). English is not very prevalent and broken English was spoken by MOST staff, staff are used to catering to locals who speak Spanish. Riu Guanacaste: Great resort

The hotel was beautiful. Easy checkin, friendly staff, rooms cleaned quickly. Food was great and suited all tastes. Drinks were good. Beach was gorgeous, a little rocky directly in front of the resort, but a quick walk down you could find more sandy entry. Amazing wildlife everywhere. We saw countless monkeys and a variety of monkey species. I would without a doubt consider returning with my family to this resort. Huge pool.

Barcelo Tambor: No do overs

This resort has gone down hill for international travellers. It caters to locals and therefore others are ignored. The grounds are beautiful but the and service was less than exceptable. The food was ok but the same thing different day

CC Beach Front Papagayo: Great Resort

Short ride from Liberia airport, provided with cool towel and drink upon arrival, seemless check in. Room was comfortable (lots of storage) but bathroom needed upgrading. Our balcony overlooked public parking lot which was quite busy at times and made outdoor furniture dusty. The public beach is just outside the grounds of the resort. There were plenty of shade trees. There were plenty of loungers so no need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a chair. There was a wide selection of food at the buffet with very little repeats in the 2 weeks we were there, always well prepared and plentiful. The breakfast waffles (made to order) were excellent. The drinks were good, some of the bar tenders created their own concoctions which were always delicious. It is a small resort and was quiet and restful which is exactly what we were looking for. Staff got to know you by name and were always friendly and accommodating.

CC Beach Front Papagayo: So relaxing!!!

We just got home from a 2 week stay at Casa Conde Beachfront resort, first of all, this resort is not for partiers so if that’s your thing best to go to a larger resort. My husband and I were very impressed with the beautiful mastersuite and my favorite place was having my morning coffee on our patio listening to all of the birds and looking over the gorgeous grounds and ocean. The staff were so friendly and no request was ever a problem, the food was excellent and the chef even cooked our t [... read more]una that we caught on our fishing trip, it was the best tuna ever!!! this is the best place to relax in a gorgeous setting I would go back to this small resort in a heartbeat.

Barcelo Tambor: Wonderful lush gardens, full of animals

The hotel and setting, is amazing. The staff shows preferential treatment to those who speak fluent Spanish. Short staff for weekend vacationers. Transat customers were shortchanged on items that were promised, at booking, and ignored when asked about these items. Transit rep was only there 1 full and 2 half days, during our 11 day stay. We weren't advised about the time and distance to get to and from the resort. Very arduous journey.

Riu Guanacaste: Good for an All Inclusive

This resort is good for people looking for an all inclusive...although if you want peace and quiet, you have to ask for a room (and be very adamant) overlooking the eco park with the monkeys. You can watch the monkeys playing from your balcony and you don't have to listen to the awful nightly entertainment. I did ask for one of these rooms upon check in - front desk assured me the room they first gave us was quiet, but very noisy and I mean noises you do NOT want to hear - thin walls (especially [... read more] with a 15 yo). So, next day, I asked Sunwing rep if we could move, and he (Gilbert) looked after it within minutes. Food is good...you can always find something good. We did not want to line up at 5:30 for a la carte.. so we ate at buffet every night. Rooms are clean, something always missed after cleaning, but when we called front desk they would look into it. We are just done with all inclusives, but if that's what you want, it's a good option.
