VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Excellent resort!

We have visited three times and plan to return next year with our extended family. The staff are amazing, the food is excellent, the beach and pool are clean, and we meet lots of Canadian travelers every year.

Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort and Spa: A Nice Resort Too Far From Airport

We landed at 12:35pm at Punta Cana Airport, but with such a large plane, using the buses to the terminal it took about 45 minutes just to get into the terminal. The drive to the hotel took about 115 minutes over a rough road in some places. The resort itself was very nice, and having our rooms in the same building as the lobby was very nice. The tissue box was terribly inconveni [... read more]ent, and had to be emptied every time a tissue was needed. The grounds were well kept. One shortcoming was the lack of clocks on buildings, inside and out. Washrooms were hard to find, and very small. Some of our party of eight wanted to enjoy the beach, but it was impossible, with heavy undertow and black flags all week. When we walked "off property" in both directions, we saw very nice beaches with low surf that would have been much more enjoyable. We were in the Dreams section, and the two main pools there were very good; however, the jacuzzi were almost never fully on, and the water in them was cold in the elevated one, and mildly warm in the other. The poolside bars and grills were very good. The theatre entertainment was generally top notch, except the music was way too loud every time. The Tierra restaurant was exceptionally good, and several others were great. The buffet was very good, both at breakfast and lunch times. I would want to be positive, but the distance from the airport and the not-so-good beach explains why I would not recommend this resort to friends. The buildings, pools, restaurants and grills would attract many. Bottom line: We did have a great time and have no regrets. The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff were high points.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Wonderful resort, relaxing

The hotel is definitely a luxury, very good for a couple and a family. Good beach, average restaurant, wonderful amenities, thank you for the recommendation Mr Lawrence. Royalton Splash has very good entertainment

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Fantastic Resort

The Hotel was spacious and clean .Great layout to all the amenities. The food was oooh so good , fresh and great variety. Very pleased . Wasn't very pleased with the sports bar if was too small .For such a large resort with hundreds of guests to have such a small evening dancing area didn't make sense .however great vacation had by all .

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Beautiful Resort

This was our first time staying at Melia,10 days. We upgraded to The Level Suite Tropical Palms. The room itself was a bit smaller than expected, but the cleaning staff did a great job keeping everything spotless. The resort and the grounds were stunning—well kept and beautifully maintained—and the sargassum was cleaned off the beach daily. It’s well worth upgrading to The Level, if only for access to The Quimera Bar, Restaurant, and Rooftop Bar. Albania Casimir, the hostess at Quimera during breakfast and lunch, was especially welcoming and even helped me learn a few words in Spanish. Most mornings, Moises Sanchez was our waiter—he always had a smile and entertained us with his great bird calls! Adriana Baez was the standout bartender; her drinks were always perfect, and she quickly learned our preferences. There was another bartender working with Adriana who was equally excellent, though unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. Our go-to spot for after-dinner drinks was the Rooftop Bar. It offers a beautiful view of the beach and pool, and it’s especially gorgeous at night. The top-shelf drink selection was somewhat limited, but the live entertainment made up for it. Karaoke nights were a lot of fun, and Yadenni Rubio brought amazing energy and did a great job engaging guests and encouraging participation. She also coordinated some of the activities I joined (coffee tasting and mud therapy), and she did an excellent job. We also tried the Vietnamese restaurant and were somewhat disappointed. My husband ordered rice with shrimp and calamari but received 1 shrimp and very little calamari, although the flavour was good. Overall, we found the restaurant options somewhat limited, and the buffet tended to taste the same regardless of the cuisine theme. My one complaint would be the poor service we received at The Level reception. Upon arrival we were handed an envelope with a resort map and nothing more—no directions on where the restaurants were or which section of the beach we could use. When we tried to book our complimentary massage session, one staff member couldn’t reach the spa by phone, sent a group text instead, and said he would email me when he received a response. I never heard back. We eventually booked a massage session with a gentleman on the beach who was taking reservations. Later, we went back to The Level reception to try to reschedule our appointment for the following day. The staff member assisting us again couldn’t reach the spa, sent another group text, and asked us to wait in the lounge. After waiting half an hour, we went to check back and he was nowhere to be seen—so we eventually just left. Overall, we had a great time and met some wonderful people. The entertainment crew were outstanding, and the property itself is absolutely gorgeous. Would I go back? I’m not entirely sure. We’ve stayed at many five-star resorts and know what to expect, and the lack of attention from The Level staff was somewhat disappointing—especially considering that’s what we were paying for.

Riu Republica: Ok resort

Positive. Always something to do at the resort. Food is not the best at all. Enough to eat and not starve but really not great. Rooms are outdated , ac doesn’t work well, water switches from hot cold and showers are difficult to have. Far walls to rooms- due to large resort. Would I go again, no . It was a nice stay but will try other resorts. Not easy to get things to room

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Good

Older but good resort needs work at pool area algae around the pool could use weekly power washing. Buffet area was good could use more a la carte restaurant, beach bbq was excellent. Night entertainment could use some changes same dancers every nite but different themes. Beach area lots of chairs. Staff was excellent lots of games.

Ocean Blue and Sand: The best all round resort we have been to

For our interests, this has been the best resort we have been to. Excellent beach for walking and swimming. Lots of additional activities both free and paid. Para sailing, banana tube,sea doo tube. Many excursions, water and land. Love the resort layout, and building architecture. Great for kids as well.

The resort is beautiful!!! It has 10 3-store buildings. We had a pool view room on the third floor. The room is very comfortable and clean with the balcony. There are 2 nice pools - you have to occupy the lounger there early in the morning. The same on the beach - the beach area is small for this large resort. The longers under umbrella on the beach are limited and are very closed to each other. The ocean is beautiful!!! It was a bit wavy during our stay but it's so beatiful. The food/bars are v [... read more]ery good. There are transfer cars driving you around the resort - very convinient if you are tired and do not want to walk. However, the walking around is also very good - everything is not too far. We liked the coffe shop there - amazing cappuchino. There is flamingo Pinky lives there on the green area -it was amazing to see her every day sleeping or awake. We had to leave at 4 in the morning - a day before that I have asked in the Guest service if they can provide the car to get to the lobby and they did. Overall the service is great!!! Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Recent day at Blue Bay

This hotel is very dated and the maintenance is quite poor. However, if you get a good room, they are clean, bed was comfortable enough and basic. When we first arrived, the bathroom had a massive leak. There was a puddle of water on the floor and the phone didn't work and there's no balcony or outdoor space on the second floor.,, so we asked to change rooms. We were given another room that was smaller, on the main floor with a patio,but at least there were no leaks. I've been to many resorts and these people were great and the shows were hilarious. If it wasn't for that, I don't think we would've enjoyed our stay. The main problem is the hotel allows people to reserve chairs the night before they never enforce the rules that say no reserving chairs at the pool and the beach. For some reason, the pool area only has three umbrellas, which is weird because resorts should have umbrellas around all their patio chairs. In my opinion I've never had any different. Lots of sun beds at the beach but again people put their towels the night before and the staff does not remove them as they should so that makes it very frustrating. Everybody at the Resort was talking about it and they were all frustrated so for that reason you might consider whether you want to stay and go through the aggravation every day ...The food is good, but remember this is a three star hotel not a four as it is sometimes stated. You'll never run out of anything to eat. The desserts and ice cream are delicious. The bread is also very good and the pizza you can make your own pasta. They always have some meat or fish being cooked and the à la carte restaurants are good. The week we went, which was April 9-16 2026 it was pouring rain every night, but the first two nights we got there It was so bad that some peoples rooms were flooded. I heard stories of luggage is being soaked in 2 feet of water. Thank goodness there was five hours of sunshine every day. I had an OK time, but I won't go back to this resort ...just too many problems. Maybe if they do an overhaul like they need I would consider in the future.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Give a 3 star

Beautiful view but staff are rude not much to do at this resort beach was closed for 7 days overall not a great place food was ok same everyday do not recommend this resort at all hotel is really run down

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Clean and friendly resort

This resort was just the right size for us. It was extremely clean and staff were very friendly. The rooms could stand to be modernized but for the amount of time spent in a room, they were good. The food was great and we had no issues reserving the a la cartes. I would return to this resort.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Worst Vacation Ever

I have been travelling the Caribbean for 30 years. Blue Bay Villas Dorado is by far the worst resort I have ever stayed in. If it were free I would never stay again. Our room flood completely two nights in a row, 6 inches of water. NO COMPENSATION! Told we can’t help if it t rains. Food was awful, resort is very poorly layer out.

Riu Bambu: Riu Bambu

Hello ? It was my second time at Riu Bambu, amazing resort, very clean, the food was fresh and great variety to choose from. Shows for kids and adults every night, lots of fun. Everyone is very friendly and helpful....going back again ?✈️

Playabachata Hotel: Resort was garbage,

The resort was garbage and would NEVER recommend it, staff not friendly unless tipping them, but place was clean. Food was not that great. Only had one pool and it had ladders NO stairs at all to get into pool. Pool with stairs closed over a year ago something the travel agent Joanna should have known about and not recommend this this PlayaBacahta resort. People smoking inside lobby even though no smoking signs were posted all over lobby. Front desk staff or customer service was not helpful [... read more] or didn't seem to care when asked to switch rooms to something closer for my 75 yr old mom so had to walk far to get to the dining hall. Do not book with Trip Central, Joanna Latimer, her service was awful, she told me this resort was everything I needed for traveling with 3 ladies 60, 65 and 75. Joanna just booked our trip and then basically left me to figure things out myself, very stressful. Overall was the worst vacation ever!

Emotions by Hodelpa Juan Dolio: Amazing Resort

Everything was awesome. I was just curious what the Coraila Club is? We were told we couldn't play bingo because it was for the French. Everything else was amazing. The food, drinks, staff, entertainment, pools, beach, and rooms.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Overall A Great Experience

I went down to the Wyndham Alltra to meet family members for a five day trip. Check-in is very easy, I ended up paying extra halfway through my trip and upgrading to the poolside rooms. Highly recommend it because you don’t have to try and nab a lawn chair early in the morning as they go fast. With the poolside rooms you get to stroll in and out of your room easily and you have your own lawn chairs. The pool goes forever. You can walk up and down and swim and hey plenty of exercise. The water a [... read more]erobics classes at noon were wonderful. À la cart can be a long wait, specifically for the steakhouse and the Italian, but the Italian was well worth the wait. I never did go to the steakhouse. I really enjoyed the Mexican Al La Carte. The pizzas were great at the snack bar as a mid afternoon snack. My brother had the VIP hello package and it is very convenient to be able to go for a coffee and a snack at the VIP lounge at any time during the day. It is very difficult to get a VIP package and poolside room though. There was never a shortage of food and we were very pleased after every buffet visit. The staff are very accommodating and very friendly. I highly recommend!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Murky water

Everything at the hotel was great except the ocean water was very murky. The water was not clear. We swam for the first 3 days in the ocean even though the water was very cloudy. Then, a river nearby dumped very brown water into the ocean and the water was even darker. This was very disappointing. Also, there was jelly fish on the beach and several guests got stung badly.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Cofresi palm beach and spa

Very out dated but it was just fine, we stayed there before and new what to expect. But it's not a good resort for elderly or mobility problems people. Way to many stairs it does not say that anywhere.
