Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Beautiful resort

This resort is beautiful, I have zero complaints. The staff were all warm and friendly, I have been to other Cuban resorts and it would be hit or miss in that area. everything was close, so not a lot of walking. The Italian supper was very good, the Buffett was do-able.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Excellent family or group vacation destination

Hotel is located in an amazing large shallow lagoon that can be considered a private large swimming pool with ocean water but no waves and no rocks.options are to swim or walk or just hang atound with a drink or play with the ball. Gym classes in this marvelious secluded lagoon are amazing experience for seniors, middle aged people or youth program is made for all generations. Entertainers are there and in hood number but if you feel you should be left alone, it is well respected. The amazing staff in the restorants is however exceeding all expectations. The three guys grilling fish on o n order and all the staff in the restaurants are not only the best I have seen in Carenbeans but even in all Iberostar resorts. There is something in the water of that town they all come from. They all feel like family and pretty quickly one feels like their own family. Rooms are clean and well lit unlike usual not very good lifting insides even dining room and redemption are nicely lit with new leaf lights so one has a feeling of a modern new facility.there is no luxioury, it is a small “ everything is close” type of a resort, you would not want anything else as the size matches wild rare beauty of the bay, it’s natural sand dunes and rocky parts. It is that such resort also attracts nice middle class audiance that does not need to be reminded not to litter. Everything stays clean all the time including the public bathrooms. If weather gets stormy it is a pretty dramatic skies we all watch from the lobby. Staff gets us into some sort of entertainment immediately. One takes loving memories from this amazing location and the team that hosted us. I have not used the pool but the largest group was always there and I have not heard one complaint. We had everybody in the resort from babies and toddlers to seniors and invalids. Total healthy happy mix. I would go again and happily recommend to friends.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing Trip

We recently travelled to the Iberostar Daiquiri in Cayo Coco. We had the most amazing trip! The resort is aging, however you tend not to focus on that when the people/staff more than make up for it. We absolutely loved the staff most especially our servers Jorge and Roxana. We always found more than enough to eat. The beach is the best we have ever been on. Not a sole bothered you when you stepped foot on it. The water was gorgeous. We cannot say enough. There was always something going  [... read more]on, either an activity, a band/musician of some sort or music in the lobby. Our room was fine. We found we had quite a bit of storage area to put our clothes. The only things I would like to see changed are (1) in the public washrooms the toilet paper bins need to be emptied more frequently because it got very smelly and (2) the hotel should put a restriction on how long you can save your pool/beach chair. We noticed some people put their stuff on their chairs bright and early and did not show up until 2-3 pm. There are not enough chairs for everyone as it is, and this does not help. Otherwise, we are looking forward to going back again next year.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Disappointed and Confused

I am confused because there were so many reviews that reported this as a 5 star resort with "clean rooms and great food". I am sorry to say that I experienced neither and that disappointed me. Without getting in to too much detail, I have travelled to close to 10 resorts in Cuba including Varadero, Cayo Santa Maria and now Cayo Coco and by far, this was the worst as far as food and room cleanliness goes. Room: Dirty sheets and pillow cases with obvious stains, tub never got cleaned out as the sand in it from day one was still in the tub on day two. Sink never cleaned. Toilet did not work - would not flush and I became a plumber for a week and continually poured water in the back of the toilet the entire week. Did not receive any clean towels in room for entire week! They took our dirty towels (makeup was on them is how we knew) that we had hung on balcony and hung them back up in the bathroom. Phone never worked and Safe did not work for two days. And we upgraded to Elegance!! No beach towels in room as was suppose to be for upgrade. We got tired of taking the long walk from Bungalow 6 to the Lobby to report these issues. They did come and fix the safe after two days. We were given towel cards instead but had to wait two days to get towels as they did not have any. Food: You can always count on a good breakfast at a resort but not this one. I always enjoy a mimosa every morning but you cannot make mimosas if they have no orange juice or champagne/sparkling wine! If you did not want to wait in the line up for freshly made omelets or fried eggs then you were stuck with hard boiled eggs or scrambled eggs that did not look fit to eat. So we ate cold meat sandwiches for breakfast all week. Went to a restaurant the first evening - at the Beach, and they delivered my food to my table with a live bug on it. Thought it was a fly and I could just swish it away but no this bug did not fly. Bottom line, unfortunately the uncomfortable feeling I had with the lack of cleanliness in the room turned me off the food . I will say that the pizza on the beach was good when you could get it. They were always running out of food, etc., as well. So disappointing. This is not a 5 star resort and the elegance upgrade was not worth it. I would never go back to this resort. I would rate this resort as a 3.5 -4 based on my experience.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Amazing Resort

Grounds were well kept, the staff was working continuously everyday. Beach is amazing and there is lots to see snorkeling just off the boardwalk. The staff were amazing constantly interacting with the guests. I've been to a bunch of resorts but the shows I seen here are by far the best I've ever seen. Done the Dolphin excursion and would highly recommend it. Food was a little repetitive but the Hurricane hasn't helped with that, but if you enjoy Chicken, rice, fresh fish and pork it was good. Melia Costa Rey: Great resort

First thing is the food was great which surprised me because of what I have heard in the past. The staff were wonderful and we would go back in an instant. They have done a great job since the big storm but need to get more covered cabanas on the beach but that will come with time. VIP lounge at airport is the best, will always purchase that as well as priority lines.

Hotel Mojito: Wonderful Time!

We visited the Iberostar Mojito from March 21 - 28th for my daughter's 30th birthday. The resort was just the perfect size for us - not too small or too big. They were still working on improvements which were great. The place was clean and well kept. The food was really good with many choices! The beach was absolutely breathtaking! Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Outstanding Staff

This was my first time at the Iberostar Daiquiri.and I was very impressed.There was always lots of staff around and they are all about service. The gardens are beautiful. This hotel was very clean and compact so you are never far from anything.The pool area is very nice. There were a lot of choices at the buffet The beach is gorgeous. I loved having a coffee maker in the room and knew to bring my own coffee and filters.Anyone that wants tea should bring their own.The beach gets deep very quick [... read more]ly which is not the best for children. . Hotel Playa Paraiso: Midsize descent resort

Check in was a struggle. We arrived at about 1:00 pm. Room became available at about 4:00 pm! Staff were very nice. The hotel is kept clean although it is getting old. Room was descent. Food and restaurants were good. The beach is nice and the hotel is well equipped and finding a chair was not a problem. Occasional daily rain was the only interruption. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Time

This was our first time Down South so we do not have anything to compare too. Food was actually pretty good, albeit I'm not a picky eater, however my wife is and she still found things to eat. You will not go hungry by any means. we preferred the Buffet over the A la Carte meals. Rooms were a bit dated and there was some visible water damage in the hallways and such. We had an issue with the key cards and card reader on the door. However I will say the Tubs are very high and can be hard to get in and out of, so be careful there. The Staff are simply amazing, very friendly, all wanted to make sure your time was a memorable one, and it most definitely was. We spent most of our days on the beach (we are not really pool people) , and the beach was one of the best we have ever experienced, white sands, warm clear water, plenty of huts to get out of the sun, and we never had any issues finding beach chairs at all. The few days we spent at the pool were fine, the middle pool (the one with the bar) was pretty shallow, good to cool off in. And everyone was having a great time there. Didn't spend any time at the upper pool, but again we spent our days at the beach, but a lot of activity and games at the larger, upper pool. We did the Cuban Sugar rum , excursion and would 100 percent recommend it to anyone. Its a long day, but you get to see and do plenty of activities. if you like to dance, the Disco in the cave is a must, best night we had was on that night. Overall we had an amazing time and would and will be going back.

i had such an amazing time i would definelty reccomend this to other people i already have . the food was amazing the people working at the reosrt are very kind and helpful overall it was an amazing trip and just cant wait to go back.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful beach, great resort

The breach on this resort is just beautiful. The rooms are spacious (we had a junior suite in building 9) but the bed slightly hard, my hips were feeling slightly sore the last couple of days. The food was decent, the Italian restaurant was by far our favorite all a carte. The pools were good to, but they close by 6pm. The beach bar closed at five so that kind of sucked but overall we really enjoyed this resort and would return. Melia Costa Rey: Ten at the Pullman

Just back from the Pullman where ten of us enjoyed a fun filled vacation. Special thanks to Yamila, and Jaime in the buffet and Pedro in the lobby bar for their kindness. We will never forget Danny and Ninito for their energy and the talented xylophone musician for his love!!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Nice resort

Memories Caribe is a nice, not great resort. Staff is terrific and try very hard to accommodate. It is a very good resort if you get accommodation in the new, remodelled area, or the Diamond Club. I was in the old section and while the rooms are large, they are tired and can be troublesome. The bathroom in particular needed work. The toilet seat was broken, the shower and sink water was luke warm at best and the shower head was very loose, causing water to spill onto the floor. Also, the t [... read more]emperature gauge was broken which caused the room to be very cold even on the low fan setting. On the positive side, the ground were well maintained, the food was very good and the beach was beautiful. Unfortunately they allow the guests to come down to the beach very early in the morning and put towels on all the chairs, making it difficult to find a decent spot. I had to be down their by 7:30 in the morning, or I wouldn't find a spot.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great week

Had a great week, staff is incredibly friendly and fun. Food was pretty good and drinks were fast and tasty. Would definitely recommend and will be returning. Only thing, we had an amazing ocean view in building 1 but had a little ant issue. Nothing crazy.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Best resort in the cayos

The hotel staff are excellent! The beach is very nice with crystal clear and still water. Great place to relax and enjoy sunny destination! Our second time there and its a good place for famiies and friends to relax on the beach!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

Very nice Rooms. Staff are very friendly. Food very good. Pool nice, Entertainment very good. Overall very good Experience except we have only seen the Air Canada Rep once Tuesday morning for about 15 min. He gave us a sheet about the expensive Excursions but never told us that we could take a Bus, rent a Motorbike or take a Taxi. Will go back any Time but not with Air Canada.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: First time at a memories resort and last time!!!

I use Trip advisor all the time to plan our Vacations and have never made a post about a vacation. Well i need to tell people about this resort. We booked with Sunwing. Flights down where amazing got to resort in good time and bus ride was fast and fun. As you come into resort they give you a paper to fill out and form two lines and hand out rooms at that point and you walk and try and find your room and a guy will bring your bags to your room. We arrived at our room and found we had single beds [... read more] and broken A/C. I mean it was not even installed it was sitting on the floor at bottom of stairs. So, we went back to front desk as buddy rolled his eyes cause we came back he gave us another room which was even worse the smell was bad a/c was lacking and the roof had black mold and blood stains all over the wall. So, we go back to front desk and they would even listen to us and said we are sorry that's it.......CAN'T HELP you. and then ignored us and moved on to next person at this point we called sunwing rep and Toni Toni help us out. he found us a room that the a/c work and no smell. Toilet didn't work and we had no hot water but it was cleaner. But with promise of new room the next day after people checked out. So next day came and after 4 we had to move again. We arrived and new room on ground floor room was clean maid was awesome. Bad things about upgrade room was no TV working not big deal...... Door would not lock and vents where missing and a plastic bag in its place to stop things from coming in room we thought !!!!!!!! until we found cockroaches in our room but we were told it is cuba by customer servers lol . Again, no hot water but its fine the beach water was beautiful lol. At the bars at night they let their employee drink and eat at the bar and mingle with the people staying at resort and if you’re in line and they walk up they will stop and serve them first???? Also one of the young girls that was staying at the resort with her friend had been approached repletely by 3 young male workers and notes under her door saying inappropriate things!!!!! Food was ok but not a big variety and every day they were short something One plus they have homemade pizza on the beach so good. The grounds were well kept Pool was nice not enough chairs if you still decide to go to this place get your Money changed at airport as it is way cheaper. They need to put more people at front desk that can speak English and have people skills Flight back was the worst ever serves and food suck and was expensive and landing was scary!!!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Wonderful vacation!!!

This hotel is very nice!!! It’s clean, the ground, the room, the pool area, the beach, and the restaurant. But the problem is the mosquitos and flies which is common problem in most resorts in Cuba. The food is terrific, variety and delicious!!! And most of all we love the people working there, the staff, they are all approachable, very nice people!!! I will recommend this hotel to a friend.
