Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Average Resort

Very good for families with Kids, near to beach. Poor Room Service, poor food in Room Service. All RestaUrant needs reservation and you have to be in line for hours to make one. Limited beach and pool chairs , so get up at 6 am on your vacation to grab a spot.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Wouldn't return

I stayed there in 2017 it's a very different resort now. We paid for diamond club and had 2 butlers. In 2017 the butlers took care of everything all reservations for the restaurant and activities. Premium liquors in the room and if you wanted more no problem. This time you were alloted 1 bottle and yes you could get more periodically. None of the hot tubs were hot this time as opposed to 2017. Seemed like this time it was all about the money and not the guest experience. If it wasn't for the great service from the butler ahd the bar staff at the pool it would have been a 4 out of 10 .I would give it a 5.5 overall flight home was a disaster we were lucky to figure out where they changed the gate to 3rd time around with a 3 hour delay. Ended up on an old swoop plane no such thing as priority on this flight as everyone was herded on a bus and unloaded in front of the plane . Never fly sunwing again

Krystal Grand Cancun: Krystal Grand Cancun

People are so friendly there. Food wasn't great but to be honest I wasn't there for the food. The beach was magnificent!!! So beautiful!! We didn't have hot water in our room. Maintenance checked it and they decided to change us to a different room. We loved that there was so much here in walking distance. We walked the beach twice a day and it goes forever. I would easily go back here. We loved it. The pools weren't the greatest but again I wasn't there for the pools. Barcelo Maya Tropical: Good Resort

Everything is fantastic except for the beach,if the resort improve also on the beach for swimming the resort have a goldstar.They should put aside some rocks for people go for a swim when you go for swimming becareful you might hit a rock or sting by jellyfish that's what happen to me.

El Dorado Casitas Royale: Good resort with some annoying things

Overall a really great time. Biggest annoyance is their concierge service. They MAKE you book things through the concierge and every time, he tries to sell you up on something (join the resort club, buy a special dinner table, come on this tour, etc.) Once you learn that by day 2, it's pretty easy to avoid it. Service was hit and miss. Sometimes the people were awesome and great; sometimes they were grumpy and off-putting. Room service took anywhere between 25 mins and 2 hours so just make sure  [... read more]you know that before you order room service. With that said... Food was great. Rooms were great. Pool was great. Resort grounds were beautiful. Shuttle service across the resort was always east to get. I don't think we will be back, but I would still recommend this resort to people who enjoy good food and enjoy relaxing.

THE RESORT IS BEAUTIFUL AND LOTS O OFFER. I HAVE BEEN IN THIS RESORT 3 YEARS AGO AND ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT. UNFORTUNATELY, ITS COMPLETELY CHANGED. TO RESERVE A SPOT IN ONE OF THE RESTAURANTS, YOU HAVE TO BE IN LINE AND WAKE UP AT 7AM AND STILL, SOMETIMES WE DID NOT SUCCEED IN RESERVING A SPOT. (THE RESTAURANTS IN THE EVENING ARE HALF EMPTY BUT THEY WILL NOT LET YOU IN IF YOU DID NOT BOOK IT IN THE MORNING) WAITING TIME TO GET A CREPE OR A COFFEE COULD BE UP TO AN HOUR. Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Beautiful resort with good food, great snorkelling right off by the beach and very friendly staff

This Hotel was perfect for us with downtown just a short walk away. Food was great with lots of fruits and seafood shrimp and fish in the buffet. The Mexican and Italian a la carte restaurant food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and always catered to your needs promptly. Rooms and the grounds were super clean. Entertainment was unique and varied. A short swim from the beach and you are surrounded by colourful fish. We went snorkelling right off the beach several times. The cruise  [... read more]ship in the background gave an interesting backdrop to all the beach activities. It was very interesting to see the cruise ship come and go. Fully recommend this Resort.

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Amazing resort!

The resort is beautiful! It’s fairly new hotel and room was very nice. We had an amazing time. Service is very good, staff is super friendly. Food was also very good. Lots of selection and multiple restaurants to choose from. Beach was also beautiful!

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Amazing landscape, OK food - outdated rooms

Hello, We staid in standard level of the Maya Beach and our rooms (2) were clean but out dated ( humidity smell in one and water flies in the other one!). We were told that Beach romes were renovated, but I think this applied only the Premium level ones! The Landscape around the building is beautiful, and we always feel safe. the beach is nice and clean, but lots the beach is suffering from erosion and lost of rocks, but still beautiful and enjoyable. Decameron La Marina: Very nice resort and friendly service

I stay in hotel between Dec.20 - Dec.27. I love the way how hotel prepare Christmas dinner with all this decoration and amazing food - it was really impressive. Friendly stuff and funny bartenders. Showers were little bit outdated but otherwise OK. Would sure love to be back....

Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: 3 star not 5

The hotel itself and grounds were nice. Rooms are not cleaned properly and the first day 85 dollars was stolen by the maid service then they locked our safe which wasn’t locked since I had only left the room for 20 mins while this happened. They don’t wipe anything down or clean anything just make beds. Food is mediocre at best definitely not 5 star and anywhere to eat is an hour to 2 hours they say come back. Had to call 6 times to get new towels. After 3rd day they stop stocking the fridge, ca [... read more]lled 5 times for water bottles to room before my wife went and found some. 3 days later at 10 pm they knock on door with 3 waters. Told us to be down at 655 to catch bus to leave we were there at 653 and bus was gone which they said was our fault. Shower water smells like bathing in sewage. I can go on just know it’s Not a 5 star resort.

Moon Palace Cancun: Nice week in the sun

The Moon Palace Sunrise was a nice resort. Lots of amenities, very clean, loads of food and drink choices, staff were unfailingly helpful and lovely, without being intrusive. It also had an app, which made it easy to order anything you needed, find your way around the resort, etc. The hotel itself is about 4km from the road, behind a gate, so if it is sun you are seeking, this is a great place to stop. If you want to experience the Mexican culture, I'd probably choose somewhere else. We did  [... read more]not try out the spa or golf course, but they looked nice enough from when we walked by. Things to watch out for: - long lineups for food, and for the few restaurants where you needed a reservation, they weren't easy to get. It requires booking through the resort app, and most times we looked, there weren't any times available. - expect this is at all resorts, but the hoarding of loungers around the pool starts at 7am - people throw a towel or sunscreen on a lounger, then disappear for a few hours, so by 8am, it can be challenging to find a couple loungers together. There are some areas if you pay more (I think they were called Elite or Diamond members), where some seats were reserved. - after you check-in, or if you approach guest relations with a question, you are going to get pushed hard to attend a presentation at the Grand, which is another resort on the Moon Palace grounds. They will try to entice you with resort credits and/or a day pass to The Grand (usually USD $99), but it does require you to listen to a sales pitch. I recommend reading the fine print, as in "how long does the presentation actually take our of your day", and how much of the resort credits can you use for an activity, and what tax do I have to pay out of my own pocket to use them - believe it was a 16% tax on resort credits) - we booked two tours through there: for the first, the transit didn't show up, and it took the hotel nearly an hour to sort out an alternate transit. And we had to figure out our own transit back - the hotel paid for it, but we had to organize it. For the second, the tour to the Chichen Itza ruins, it was an 11 hour tour, and 8 hours was spent on the bus (whereas the person selling the tour said it was closer to 5 hours) - did not feel the Chichen Itza tour was good value for money.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Great times

We totally enjoyed our last minute getaway purchase through Tripcentral. They're super efficient and attentive. El Dorado Seaside was everything we were hoping for. The weather, the nature and the vibe was perfect for us to truly relax.

Flamingo Vallarta: Great Location!

This resort is in a great location to get around PV. Lots of restaurants around the Marina to choose from, I was surprised that the bar closed at 10:15pm. Good size rooms and a cool pool to refresh in. I would stay again here.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: A Quiet Hideaway

I was impressed all around with the resort. We stayed on the Palms side in the 3700 series rooms (not oceanfront nor swim out although we did have a nice size balcony). The food was fantastic, drinks plentiful and the rooms spacious and clean. We had no issues making reservations for the various restaurants (there was only two of us), our favourite was the Pub and the Asian. Breakfast we were at the Market Buffet and loved it. We are Canadian and enjoy my Caesar drinks. They have a no name  [... read more]clamato Juice and some seasoning jug so not too bad except they use salt for the rim instead of celery salt. The beach, smaller swimming area, shallow but perfect to slip into and cool off. Take your snorkelling equipment as not available to rent. The beach beds were plentiful and free (except a few for premium guests which were well labelled). Lots of lounge chairs. No crazy saving of chairs needed (although a few guests did) Lots of various areas to hang out on the beach, find your own which matches your mood. Aqua fitness with G from Netherlands was great and memorable. Lots of staff, always a greeting, helpful and smiling. A few activities during the day if you wish. OK shows at night. Nothing memorable. Didn't partake in the bars. Did hear a few guests complain about the noise from the bar at night and their rooms were moved as it went until 2 pm. Felt very safe, nice paths, great night lighting in the foliage. A marked 5 km course for joggers or walkers. A bit of a transfer trip to and from the airport (1.5-2 hours) depending if you have other guests at various resorts to drop/pick up and traffic. I would go back again. Danielle at Trip Central was helpful throughout the process of deciding which resort would be a good fit for us.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Excellent Choice!!

We were very happy with our decision to stay at the Barcelo Maya Riviera. The hotel was great, very clean, great food and food options. The staff were very good and our requests were meet in a timely and courteous manner. Room was comfortable and clean. Very modern hotel with lots to offer. We will plan a return visit in the future. The beach was fantastic and the pools were awesome. There was lots to take part in from volleyball to pool aerobics or there was always a quiet spot to be found for  [... read more]an afternoon siesta!! The overall complex had lots to offer including the open double decker bus to get you around if walking is not your plan.

Riu Lupita: Great Resort

Canto Del Sol: Same old same old

Where to begin? We’ve been going to this resort for 7 years now. We have been going to PV for 25 years but 7 years ago due to some life changes we decided to look at doing our dental work in PV. Which brings us to staying at the Canto Del Sol… it’s within walking distance to the clinic. Things have definitely changed over the years and not for the better. What women out there doesn’t love to see what the bride is wearing?!? Lol. But the way the hotel is designed when it comes time for the reception you are included in it wether or not you want to be. The location is right in the middle of outside living. Which also includes all the rooms facing towards the pool and ocean. At one time time it used to be a time limit of 11. However it is now closer to midnight so forget about having a relaxing evening or staying in and watching TV. The other issue is the hotel doesn’t have an adult pool. Even the swim up bar has young children in it. Even tho there are 3 other pools for the kids to go in and play. One reason I think this happens is because on check in they aren’t told about the wonderful kids waterpark which has a deep pool right beside it for the adults to swim in. I also wonder that even if they are told it maybe because there is no bar by that pool. Either way for us couples that don’t have children with us it becomes very annoying that we don’t get a break from the kids. The restaurants have stayed the same except for the buffet. It is the same as most buffets but some how before it seemed different. I just can’t put my finger on way. Now we get to the rooms. They are tired! We received towels with threads hanging off of them and holes. You wont receive a facecloth and when I asked why I was told that it was a different person the “did that” lol. Like there was a lady walking around handing out facecloths lol. And when they did restock the rooms you were lucky to get enough towels for the amount of people who stayed in the room. The taps leak the shower has no pressure and the water doesn’t get any warmer then lukewarm at the best. My sister’s shower wouldn’t turn on. She mentioned it to the front desk and was told that it would be fixed that day while we were out. It wasn’t! She finally figured out how to play with it so it would turn on. The staff are amazing as always ! Although when you ask them to do something their response is always oh management won’t let us do that. Something as simple as changing the music to something more upbeat. You can also tell when there are more English speaking clientele instead of when they locals are there for their hotels. Please don’t get me wrong I totally understand that we are visiting their country but we spend a lot of money doing that. Which brings me to the next issues… the rating. There is no way this hotel is a 5 star and you are definitely pushing it to say it’s a 4 star. If the price reflected what you received I’d have no complaints but the hotel is up there with some well known Brand Name hotels that deliver a 5 star treatment.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Lovely grounds

The Barcelo grounds are lovely...food could be improved in the buffet as the warming trays don't keep anything hot. Very difficult to get reservations in the a la carte..lucky to get a 9pm reservation. Check in took over 3 hours...needs improvement. The wait staff are nice but reception needs to work on their people skills and communication. I've been here 6 times but it will be my last sadly unless things change.
