Barcelo Maya Caribe: Beautiful Resort

This resort was amazing. Everything is so clean from the rooms to the pool to the restaurant's. There is every kind of food to eat, fresh and plentiful. All staff is helpful and pleasant. Entertainment was great. Beach was beautiful. Definitely would recommend this resort and plan to return.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Great Place

Loved this resort. Especially the staff. And the entertainment was outstanding. Not only in the theatre but the music in the lobby and poolside. Food was good, room and grounds nice. Never left the resort during our weeks stay.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Wonderful Time at the Royalton

Stayed at the Royalton Feb 5-12/2020 with husband and two children under 4. Resort was well kept and cared for. Staff were very kind and helpful. Check in was a breeze. Beach unfortunately had seaweed which is expected at this time but kids still enjoyed the sand. Splash park for kids is huge. Pools are amazing. Food was okay - nothing too special but lots to choose from at buffet. Loved the ZEN restaurant - Miguel was a wonderful cook. Hunters steak house was delicious as well. Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Absolutely Amazing

The resort was amazing. The rooms, the food, the entertainment, the grounds, the services, the pools, the beach...absolutely no complaints. Will return in 2021. We have already recommended it to friends and colleagues.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great Vacation

We enjoyed every aspect of the resort. Beautiful grounds, very well kept up and clean. The Privilege package was all we expected and some more. Fast and pleasant check in and check out. We loved our room, spacious, clean, well equipped with all that we needed (including jets tub outside and another one in the bathroom). Bed was very comfortable. There are some rocks in the water so water shoes are very useful. A la carte restaurants were very good. Not the greatest experience at the Japanese restaurant for us but Blue Moon and Steak House were great. We think that Privilege restaurant was the best of all but we did not go to La Locanda and the Mexican restaurant so we cannot review those two.The evening shows were good but the day entertainment wasn't as good as we thought will going to be. All in all a very good vacation.

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Couldn't have asked for better!

Perfect from start to finish. The rooms were lovely, with fantastic room service. The pools were huge and it was only steps to the ocean! Everything was super well kept, you can tell the staff cares! Every server we had was exceptional and took such great care of us. Food was good, would have loved some more vegan options however. There was always something for us to eat, but some meals were repetitive.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great family vacay!

We were 3 generations with diverse ages. 50,28,14,8 We had a room in the Daisy area garden view. The housekeeping all week was amazing. Left us towel animals which was awesome. Our balcony had a swing which we all enjoyed & 2 chairs. The room had 2 queens, pull out couch (we never used) We never felt cramped. 2 large closets. Our fridge was always stocked with water, pop, chocolate milk, beers and snacks. We never had to request refills. Buffet had so many options that the first night w [... read more]e were overwhelmed with choices. This continued to be that way for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You had the regular go to’s but they always had fresh, make as you wait, stations. One night, two of us went to the adult only restaurant Bluemoon. Was amazing. Loved the creme brûlée. We did the Japanese restaurant. This was the only restaurant that required a reservation. The kids enjoyed the show. We also tried the steak house but preferred the steak from Bluemoon. We saw the performance of the lion king. Very well done. Lunches were spent either at the beach restaurant or the kids pool area snack bar. However Eden pool also has crepes which are yummy. The shuttle up and down the hotel property is a great added bonus when you are carrying towels & beach things. The ocean was beautiful. No seaweed. We were never hounded by people selling excursions or items. Just a quick no thank you and they continued on. The service by the Air Canada & Best Day team on site was awesome. Thank you Hector for making sure we booked the right excursions or answered any questions we had. The professional photos are expensive If you take all during your stay but if you pick your favourites, and bring the package down, the photos are so worth it. The bartenders at the swim up, lobby, beach were very respectful and entertaining. Once they knew you, they would know exactly what drink to make you next. Even for the minors.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Amazing Resort

Loved this resort. Food in all restaurants was great. Buffets had everything you could imagine, gluten free and vegan choices as well. Children's buffet tables too. The shows at night were better than I've ever seen. Rooms were large and clean, several pools to chose from. Adults only, family, entertainment and multiple splash pads for kids. Beautiful grounds with wildlife to watch. Dolphinarium on property to watch whenever you want too. Loved it!

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Amazing Resort, VERY dated rooms.

This was my second time at this resort... here are my findings. 1) The Good - The resort is beautiful. The beach is amazing! The pools are fantastic and the staff is outstanding. 2) The Bad - The food is just okay. Not bad, just not great. The restaurants require ridiculous reservations and when you get there, they are half empty at 7pm. They REALLY do mean no shorts. I went with dress shorts and was turned away while guys with ripped jeans and backwards baseball caps were allowed i [... read more]n. Take advantage of the free mini golf, but know your kids (even as teens) cannot sign themselves in... for no good reason except that is the rule. WiFi is $60 CAD for TWO devices, but actually works pretty good on the resort, even on the beach. 3) The Ugly - The rooms are down right nasty. Now, the Premium rooms are nice, re-done and well kept. The standard rooms are run down, in desperate need of maintenance and we had ants all over the place. Tiny little ones. Didn't bother me, freaked out my kids. All in all, it was my second time there. We did have a good time for sure. Would I go back? Probably not... unless I got a Premium Level or stayed in the Palace / Riviera. I think next time we would just try something else for variety, not because of the resort. It really is beautiful, outside of the rooms.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort

There’s nothing to complain about.. everything exceeded my expectations..grounds are beautiful, service was excellent , food was amazing. Entertainment was great..our Butler Edgar was very accommodating everything was done immediately for anything we requested of him.. very helpful in helping us make sure we had the best experience throughout the resort.. the pool entertainers Caesar and Corina were great making sure everyone was having a good time .. One of our Tram drivers (sorry can’t re [... read more]member his name) made it so much fun driving us to our building or wherever we were going.. had the music blaring and even did some fun dancing moves to entertain us.. he was the BEST..what a memorable week.. planning on Re visiting again in a couple of months..

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Relaxing and laid back resort

A friend and I stayed at OCT for a week. At the advice of my travel agent, we did not upgrade to ‘Privilege’. The room and resort on a whole were quite clean. We did not have trouble getting into any of the a la carte restaurants since we ate early and were there for 6 pm or shortly after. We especially enjoyed our dinner at Terraza D’Italia, Luis Trevino was an excellent host. The steak and veal were cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed eating at Sensai. WiFi was great throughout the res [... read more]ort, even by the pools and was complimentary which I hear is a bonus since a friend stayed at another resort nearby the same week and had to pay $30 USD for three days for spotty WiFi. The only suggestion I have is that the public washrooms near the pools be renovated to a bit larger cubicles, they were narrow and awkward. They could have been cleaned a little more frequently during peak hours of use.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Beautiful Relaxing Resort

Akumal Bay is a nice small resort with all the amenities. Rooms: All rooms have a view of the ocean and are quite large, clean and well maintained. Cleaning was done daily and bar fridge replenished. Food: Although the buffet is small there was always a good selection for everyone. Beach sushi bar is excellent as well as the 4 A la Carte restaurants (no reservations required). Staff: This is where the resort really shines. All staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort!

This resort had something for everyone! The room was nice and clean. The food was great nothing lacking something for everyone. There was no lacking in the cocktail area, premium drinks for everyone! The staff was accommodating wherever asked for anything and friendly. I would totally recommend this resort and would definitely go again if given the opportunity. Love this resort and people.

Unico 20 87 Hotel Riviera Maya: Great resort

The hotel is great. Food is also very good at all their restaurants. Service is amazing, they always find a solution to please your needs. The gym is one of the best that i have seen in any resort. The only negative I have is that the house Wine at all the restaurants have gone down in quality compare to 2 years ago when we were there at the same time.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Fabulous vacation place

Our stay was fantastic, great food, pool areas very clean, workers very friendly, there was a variety of mixed drinks available, evening show very enjoyable and lots to do for those who would be interested.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Very good holiday

Feb 7 - 11, 2020....Approx 90 minutes from the Cancun airport. Once we got through the madness that was the international arrivals (several plane loads arrived at the same time!), the rest went smoothly. Check in was quick and they were able to accomodate most of our room requests. Ended up close to the beach which was perfect. Room - huge junior suite, ours had 2 double beds, third floor. At first glance it is shiny and perfect. Looking closer, you could see that it needed a bit of tlc as [... read more] there was some staining on the couch and chair fabrics and the window sheers needed a good clean. However, very good amenities provided like coffee maker, mini fridge with beer and pop, large jug of drinking water, iron and board, makeup mirror, hair dryer, etc. Large bathroom with whirlpool tub and the toilet was private in a watercloset. Food - Buffets had lots of choices and pretty much everything we tried tasted great. The biggest issue was the buffet food temp was usually only barely lukewarm. A la Cartes... had Mexican, Thai and Japanese..... all were excellent food quality, at least to our taste. Also a beach buffet which we did not try except for the chicken wings which were really good. Pools - did not go in or sit around as we prefer the beach but they looked good. Beach - small with a lot of coral chunks so do bring water shoes and sandals for walking. We picked this hotel specifically for the snorkelling. Because of the rockiness and the reef areas this is known as an amazing off the beach snorkelling hotel.... unfortunately the weather did not cooperate as it was windy the whole time we were there and the visibility was very poor. Not the hotel's fault, just the luck of the draw and we lost! Fun stuff - lots of wildlife - Coatis, iguanas, geckos, different birds, etc in a jungle setting. Awesome to see! The lazy river is a great feature. The night time shows are the best we have experienced at any AI resort as far as professionalism in dance and singers. Even though I have never been a Michael Jackson fan, I basically ignored the MJ actor/dancer and loved the dancers. Also saw the Lion King and Broadway shows. Very well done. There is a small Cenote on the property with a small Spider Monkey population.... magical! Please Do Not Feed The Monkeys.... there are signs and too many people ignore them. These are wild animals and feeding them not only presents risk to the humans, it can also be very harmful to the animals as they lose their natural fear of humans and we can kill them with kindness by feeding them foods that can potentially harm them as not what they find in the wild..... this includes bananas believe it or not. Never had a problem getting sunbeds on the beach before 9am. Overall a good hotel but is a bit tired and could use some work. Huge property so be prepared to do a lot of walking - one day we did 18,000 steps! We would go back but would have to be a better sale than what we paid this time and hopefully next time the ocean will be calmer so we can snorkel! We rate it as a solid 4*

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Wonderful Experience

We found the staff, food, facilities and attention to detail were all top notch. Minor issues at check in were quickly resolved to our complete satisfaction. The quality of food in ala carte restaurants was exceptional and the best we have experienced in our many vacations over the years. We will definitely consider coming back.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great resort

We really enjoyed our stay, grounds were immaculate, food was good, wasn’t overly impressed with the service at buffet, but I survived. Loved all the restaurants! Amazing Brazilian bbq and Italian was incredible. I would definitely return, although we spent most of our time off the resort, while we were there we were pleased. Also, pool could have stayed open even an hour longer. 6 is a little early in my opinion. All in all, good time, good food lots of memories.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Excellent week

This is my second stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal, adult section. We were once again, very pleased with our stay. The hotel is a little over an hour from the airport, which might be an issue for some, but not for me. Check in was speedy. Our requests were all accommodated. We did have to change our room the second day due to our shower backing up, but staff did their best to assist. Rooms are spacious and very, very clean. The Alux, Dom Pablo, and the Arluquin A la Carte restaura [... read more]nts were excellent. We were a bit disappointed in the changes of the menu in the seafood restaurant (which was one of our favourites last year) and in the Italian restaurant (which was also a favourite last year). Staff everywhere were pleasant and helpful in every way.

Grand Sunset Princess: Nice

Front desk staff can’t get there things right. Arrived at 330Pm and didn’t get room till almost 730pm. They gave us a room that was already occupied by another couple and walked in on them so had to go back to get a unoccupied room and that took forever. Other than that the resort is nice and people are really friendly, food was good, drinks are plentiful and great rooms.
