Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Great place!

Very nice resort on a beautiful island. Clean and friendly. Rodrigo from the kitchen made delicious treats and made our family feel welcome. The staff was very helpful to get anything we might need. Rooms were a good size and well kept.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Excellent Experience

Hotel and service were amazing and so was the beach. Food was ok but my expectations were low as they are for most all inclusive packages...make a day trip to Bucerias...the beach there is very calm and there a couple restaurants to eat and drink at...try fat daddy's they had awesome lobster tails

Took my grand daughter here for her 16th birthday and we had such a fun time..Ocean is absolutely amazing..I read reviews of people returning to this resort time and time again and our first day there couldn't really see why but as the days went by i grew to love it more and more..grand daughter loved the ocean so we spent everyday there..was not ready to leave and hopefully will be returning again with my husband..I dont ever complain when we go away but my 1 comment for me was they need new be [... read more]ds..

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Truly a 5 Star

This is an absolute gem of a resort. Everything from the staff, the rooms, the grounds is top notch. Food quality is excellent and there is quite the variety. Will definitely be returning in the near future hopefully.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Super Resort!

What a super resort in Cuba. The grounds were very well maintained (neat and clean). Staff were extremely friendly. The room itself was acceptable. The cleaning staff were beyond great. What was amazing... was the food (which I know is suppose to be uncommon in Cuba) - huge selection every day of not only North American food, but also I was able to taste lots of Cuban dishes - which I loved.

First and foremost this hotel has the most INCREDIBLE employees. From the cleaning staff, to the chefs, to the landscapers, to the housekeepers., butlers.Everyone is happy, friendly and Sooo service oriented. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The hallways on the hotel room floors are in dire need of freshening up. The carpeting is torn,and has waves, the walls need painting and brightening up. The trip from the airport to this resort is short and easy. We were greeted at check in with warmth and very welcoming. We were even upgraded to an ocean view room by Barington who works at the front desk.We requested a quiet room prior to our arriving and they put us near the pool and the thump thump of the music. They felt bad ,so they moved us up to the 3rd floor with an ocean view. The only real complaint was the lack of umbrellas and covered space on the beach. In order to get a covered lounge chair on the beach, you need to be there at 7 AM. You must sit on your beach chair until at least 7.30 AM to claim it. Unfortunately, we did this one morning, went to breakfast, only to come back 1 hour later, our personal belongings( books) were removed and someone took our beach chairs. The staff said " we weren't there " so they took our stuff off and someone took our chairs. We then had a 1 hour run around to find our books. The beach towel hut person told us security had our things, and security said "they never get involved and the beach hut person had our stuff. Indeed, that's where it was. The solution to this problem would be to have 1) the butlers reserve chairs wherever their clients wanted to sit. This is done at some other resorts or2) Have more covered umbrellas on the beach. There are 2 covered areas on the beach and all chairs are taken. In between them is an uncovered section of about 40 chairs and only 3 chairs were taken. I don't think that makes sense. The butlers were amazing. They didn't annoy us nor did they ignore us. O'neill,Carson and Duran really work hard. They were always professional and wanted to help wherever they could. Our cleaning ladies were Soo special ( Cardella daytime and the evening lady, Kardesha?) Friendly, hard working and eager to please. The wait staff in all the restaurants were great, always smiling and worked hard to please. In conclusion, this vacation was relaxing and enjoyable. I think I would rate it a 4 star instead of a 5 star because of the poor quality of food and the renovations that are so desperately needed.

Hotel Mojito: Great Getaway!

This resort is on a beautiful beach at Cayo Coco. Place is very clean - staff are exceptional - from front desk to housekeeping to groundskeepers to food service staff. This is a safe and family friendly spot. We met numerous people who had been there several times over the past few years - which says a lot for the calibre of care given to their guests. The venue itself is a little "tired" and could use some upgrades/renovation but overall good value for money. Thanks to Trip Central which was a great way to book this - they covered all the details for us and we had no issues with flights or check in at the Mojito.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Good resort

Hotel staff were great. Lobby and public areas really nice. Rooms were ok, could not get adapter to work to charge cell phone or use blow dryer. Also my iPhone 6 did not work so no internet. Hotel said newer phones do not always work. Food was just ok not great.

Hotel Mojito: Return visit

The friendly staff make this resort a memorable experience. As the resort is 16 yrs old, many staff have worked there since opening. It is showing signs of wear inside rooms & outside buildings. Food is average, repetitious if staying over 1 wk. We stayed on ground floor...convenient because no stairs but musty smelling. I would suggest 2nd or 3rd floors(stairs). Definitely a good deal, if you want a beach or pool vacation with 27-29C temperatures! Main stage is under repair...nightly show is in disco(musty & poor acoustics). As a group of 8, we made amazing friends there & had a good holiday. A few with tummy upset for a day or so. Visit Las Ranchas...a lobster shack nearby on beach. The beach(narrow when tide is in) is beautiful, loungers available, great for walking! If you don't require luxurious detail in a resort, Mojito is for you. The staff try hard to make your vacation special. Most of the people are 50+ who vacation here.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort!

This was my first time in Varadero, but my 4th time to Cuba. The Beach at Laguna Axul was spectacular; best yet by far! The beach bar was convenient and the bartenders were very friendly. The room was clean and large but the water pressure was disappointing, but that's pretty normal for Cuba. The bank in the lobby is open 24 hours to exchange your money which was very convenient. The only EXTREMELY frustrating experience was dealing with the receptionist at the SPA. She literally did not speak a word of English! And being as I had booked a SPA room, I was expecting some perks associated with it. However, I gave up. It was just too frustrating. All that being said, the resort is one that I would consider going back to a second time

Hotel Mojito: mediocre resort

everything was clean but could use maintenance. for example the sidewalk bricks needed repair and the walkways across the lagoon also needed repair. some of the chairs and tables needed tlc. The theatre entertainment were pretty much the same show each night just different costumes and it was in the disco not the amphitheatre so it was not that comfortable. food was good and the service was good.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Enjoyed Our Stay

We were looking for a quieter resort with options for snorkelling. Iberostar Cozumel is an older, smaller, resort, with very lush grounds, located close to a number of excellent snorkelling sites. The rooms we stayed in were renovated and kept clean. Because of the high humidity, the rooms did have a musty smell, which one had to get used to. Perhaps a second story room would have been better. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. There was a good assortment of food at the buffet, however, I fou [... read more]nd most of it way too salty for my taste. The steak house, which required a reservation, was our favourite. I would consider this resort closer to 3.5-4 star resort rather than a 5 star. Having said that, I would still consider returning.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Pack the bug repellant

The staff were friendly and helpful, service excellent and the food far surpassed my expectations. Grounds are also very well maintained(barring one exception) and scenic. Although there seems to be a renovation project in the works there are still rooms that need some serious attention. Seized patio doors, broken balcony furniture and not one operational Jacuzzi were chronic complaints amongst the guests I talked to. I am sure most of these deficiencies will soon be resolved but there is one ma [... read more]jor issue. Dead center of the resort there is a man-made lagoon. The lagoon was designed to circulate still water by means of fountains but currently holds a foot of stagnate, algae blooming, bug larvae covered water. They toss chlorine tablets in everyday but seems to be unsuccessful as I am covered from head to toe with bug bites.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort

Very nice staff. Wheelchair accessible resort. Lots of activities. Food was best we have ever had in Cuba by far. A fair drive to Varadero but an inexpensive double decker bus runs back and forth all day.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Nice resort

I had the pleasure of staying at the Paraiso del Mar from Jan 27 to Feb 3. All in all a lovely place, beautiful and well maintained grounds, nice beach area, great pools, however contrary to advertised the Del Mar DOES NOT have a lazy river. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. All the amenities are within close proximity. A good experience.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Place

This resort was perfect for me. The room was comfortable, clean, modern. Loved the big open lobby where i could drink as many cappuccinos as I wanted as I looked out over the beautiful pool and the gorgeous beach just beyond. The ocean water was the most spectacular colour of green and the sand so fine. The resort complex on a whole was just the right size; no getting lost in the hot sun! Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Not Bad but not the Best we have stayed at.

The resort was really beautiful, the staff very friendly and helpful and the pool was utterly amazing. Where this resort could use some work is in its buffets...the food was good but was mostly the same from day to day. Management might want to consider a different theme for each day (ie Mexican, Italian, Seafood, etc). The beach was disappointing, quite rocky as you walk into the water, you had to be very careful where you were walking when entering the water as the rocks were not always vis [... read more]ible depending on the waves. I would recommend this resort to those that were not interested in beach and dining. Would I revisit this resort, probably not.

Lovely resort, wonderful staff, good food, great entertainment, only thing that needs to be done at this resort is to upgrade the hotel rooms Need to be upgraded. All closet doors broken needs new paint, but the rooms are kept clean

Premièrement lors de notre arrivée le service a été médiocre même nul. Les employés avaient l'air d'avoir hâte de retourner à la maison. Personne pour nous aider a trouver notre chambre et en plus nous étions 2 couples et nous étions pas dans le même immeuble et en plus nous avions 2 lits 3/4 au lieux de 1 lit queen. Très mauvais départ pour l'hôtel. Le lendemain matin nous sommes allés voir la réception et tout c'est arrangé. le resort quand même propre sauf les toilette [... read more]s publiques manque un peu d'amour. La bouffe passable. Chambre très propre grâce à REGLA. La plage superbe mais vraiment belle. Le service du déjeuner et diner un gros merci à ZULY sympathique, souriante et en plus elle parle français. Nos soirées de 20 à 21 heure il y avait un spectacle près du hall d'entrée et nous avions toujours le même serveur YACIEL un phénomène, parle français, toujours un sourire. Petit bémol construction tard le soir.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful Landscaping

We weren't sure how we'd feel about not having an ocean view, but the absolutely gorgeous grounds to walk through were worth it. There is a lot of walking which is a good thing to counter balance all the food and drink. We enjoyed the a la cartes as well as the buffet. There were never long line ups at the main buffet, the beach buffet or the bars. Food was pretty typical for Cuba and we enjoyed what was offered. The beaches are amazing! We never used the pools, but they were pretty with lot [... read more]s of loungers and very clean. The room was clean and our bed was comfortable. There are a few minor repairs and paint touch ups that could be done, but for once our balcony door lock worked! The resort is 90 minutes from the airport, but it's nice to see the Cuban countryside. There are excursions, but as this was our third trip to Cuba we didn't go on any. The best part of the resort is the staff. They are genuinely friendly and the Nautico guys were really helpful. Go out on a hobie cat. Thanks Rafael for a great time! Another plus is that the other guests were really friendly too. We made new friends from acoss Canada. I'm not sure if it's because we were there Feb.3-10 which is before any of the school breaks, but there were always loungers and sun shelters available. The Iberostar Ensenachos is a lovely resort.
