Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Good for a 3 star

Rooms were very clean and well kept, my only complaint was the lack of hot water ! Wasn't impressed with the food , and the a la carte restaurant was the same meals for Italian, Mexican, and Caribbean, and they never had enough food even though we were the first reservation.. But we made due. Beach was very nice, the locals are very nice, we did one excursion of going out on the dune buggies!, was a blast... Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: GREAT WEEK

We arrived around 2 pm and was processed , escorted to our room and on the beach with a drink in our hand .Staff in all areas were extremely pleasant. Rooms were clean and had no strange odors .We would go back again.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: An A ONE RESORT

What a wonderful place for a holiday! The food is great and all the restaurants treat you like royalty. They have many pools but the main one is the best, especially with the swim-up bar. The rooms are amazing and comfortable. Will be going there again.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Clean, Friendly and Good Food

Rooms were clean, staff were friendly, food was good, beach was nice. Service at the bars was slow and the resort was not at full capacity. No stools at any bar to sit and gab. Good bang for your buck

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: nice resort

Resort was nice ,clean and staff was vary nice.Food was excellent. The only problem we had was every time you went to the beach people were there asking you if you wanted to go to the market just down the beach.First time they asked we went to the market, it was ok the usual souvenirs, but every time after that when we went to the beach they were there asking if they could take you really anoing .We stopped going to the beach.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Budget Price - Budget Resort

The grounds and beach here are terrific. I've heard a lot of so-so reviews and in my opinion this place is a 3 star and don't expect more than that! You want a 3.5 star then pay a bit more for it. However, we didn't starve, had a nice room to sleep in, though a lack of hot water, drinks were plentiful (don't drink the white wine) and the people working here were nice. 7 days of great beach and sunshine for $700, can't beat that.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: excellent resort

large enough to have all the facilities, small enough to get around easily, nice layout, large pool and bars, excellent food, good service, lots of beach towels, very nice beach with a few rocky areas, but lots of places to play and swim.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Great fun!!!

It was my first trip to the Dominican and I had heard some negative things about this resort. I can honestly say I have nothing negative to say about this resort. A vacation is what you make of it, and if you are nice and friendly, people generally act the same. The food was good, staff were fine, and the rooms were clean. I would go back here as the location is fantastic.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: One of the best all inclusives I have stayed at

My 9th all inclusive,rates among the best. Staff are wonderful,food was great. Make sure your resort is seaweed free as it can get ugly, there was none here. Beach is clean. Will return. Recommended .

Riu Merengue: RIU MERENGUE Surprise

When we booked we did not know what to expect. From the moment we got out of the air port to the time we got to the hotel the experience was better than other trips we had gone on. The service at the hotel was unmatched by other resorts we have stayed at. The grounds where well maintained with no shortage of hounds keepers. The room was of a decent size and the house keepers kept our room extremely clean and both the fridge and the wall mounted bar where also stocked each day. The beach was alwa [... read more]ys clean and even thou it is not the white sand of some beachs you could easily walk with your toes in the sand (I would recommend water shoes in the water, it's a bit rocky). As far as food goes there was never a problem. Always something to eat no matter what time of day you could get a meal. The nightly shows where beyond what I expected. Some of them could have been Las Vegas style shows, with a bigger budget. The entertainment staff went out of the way to get people doing things all day long whether you where at the beach or hanging by the pool or you just felt like playing some fun bingo for prizes. The bars we had no complaints about at all and there was no shortage of the rum in the drinks. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone wishing to get away for either a quiet time away as a couple or as a group that wants to get away and party till the wee hours of the morning. You will find what you are looking for with this resort.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great Resort for Relaxation

very secluded resort with a great beach. 4 pools to choose from with many bars. Food at ala carte restaurants was very good and buffet was great. Our room, Master Suite was fantastic with great view of the ocean. Service and grounds were exceptional

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great Resort

The rooms were dated but clean. Grounds were always being tended to. Restaurants were fabulous, the food was so well prepared and delicious. Staff very helpful and polite. Only downside was the bars. The staff did not seem to be able to mix drinks properly. After two days, I gave up and drank just water because I do not drink beer. On the whole no complaints. Air Transat rep. at hotel was exceptional.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Beautiful Resort, beautiful time

I would rate this resort a 3 star. We had the standard room which was fine because we don't spend much time in the room. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The resort itself is about 50 minutes from the airport, is located on a hill and is beautiful, very lush and clean. Everything is within walking distance (we are a young family). There are a lot of stairs but if you have a stroller they can be avoided by taking the longer way up (road used by golf carts) - we definitely got fit w [... read more]ith all the walking which is a plus. The food was good, a lot of variety and the Italian restaurant was nice. The beach is small but the water is very warm and the waves are fun not overpowering. Some downsides : we were at Cofresi from Feb 1 - 8, 2016 and we all got sick from the food, and so did everyone we spoke to. Because we used the same roads as the golf carts we inhaled a lot of diesel smoke. Also, we had to pass by the semi-open sewage system on the way to the beach. Thankfully our room wasnt anywhere near and the smell didn't bother us but if you are unlucky and get a room close by it could make an unpleasant stay. I got a rash from the bracelet but everyone else was fine. Overall it was a nice trip and I would recommend this resort

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful Beach, Excellent Staff, Relaxation!

It was our first time traveling South and we had a a great time! Excellent staff, always welcoming and friendly. Very clean, we didn't see any insects in the rooms and very few around the resort! The shows in the evening were excellent, very entertaining. Our flight was delayed leaving and they locked our luggage in a room so we could enjoy our stay after checking out of our room, with the option to continue with the meal plan and drinks. Strongly recommend this resort, you will not be disappointed! :)

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: The only place to go!

Honestly this resort is absolutely amazing. The staff are super friendly, and fun! The variety and taste of the food was amazing! There was literally food and drinks at anytime of day! Any issues were minor and resolved instantaneously. The ocean was weedy, but you can still see the effort of the staff to clean up.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Wonderful time!

Beautiful resort, built on a hill so many stairs but help to work off all those meals. Restaurants were delicious especially the Mexican and Italian. Lot s of pools no trouble getting a lounge chair. Staff was great and helpful.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Was nice with a few flaws

The resort itself was nice, we had a few problems when we got there with our rooms. We traveled with a group of 9 and tried to get all our rooms together but couldn't, which is understandable. I had to change rooms because when I tried to open the sliding door the door frame came right off which didn't allow us to lock our room. Things were dealt with the next day and the room situation was all good. The only down fall is that there is no consistency with the drink making, the "frozen" drinks we [... read more]re not frozen at all during the day. And the food in the buffet was not very pleasing, except for the omlet bar in the morning. The fancy resturaunts were good. The gormet was my favourite.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Absolutely beautiful

The resort was stunning, the hotel was beautiful the service and food was amazing. This was are first trip was 9 of us we had a blast from the start to the end. We where all sad to see it come to an end. Plans are already in the works to return next year.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Amazing trip

The grounds were spaced out perfectly. The food was good, wish they had served more bacon at breakfast...The staff were very friendly and never passed without saying hello. The entertainment crew did an amazing job.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Rum & love & sunshine

As a young couple, we stayed at an Iberostar in another destination and completly fell in love with it. When we were given the chance and had saved up to go away to discover a new vacation destination,we'd choose no other than Iberostar. We knew we'd be in fabulous hands!
