Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing people

Fantastic vacation. Beach , pool, service - really nice resort. The activities and service were great. Big thanks to Jorge and Albert for making our stay very enjoyable with great activities. But everybody at the resort was going extra mile to make our stay comfortable. If anything could be better I will say more veggies and better selection of veggies will be welcome (I am mostly vegetarian).

Barcelo Solymar: the solymar was my favorite resort years ago.now it has become a 2star at best,horrible place.sad to say but i will never go back

busted light bulbs ,black grime on bathtub . limited food no drinks no wine no pop. dirty pools closed restaurants. for the last 25 years I have been traveling to cuba 3 times a year and this has got to be the worse experience yet. I will not recommend this place to my worst enemies. very sad😪

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Lovely resort

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The beach was 10/10. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Also, if you're a diver, there's a dive shop just a couple minute walk from the beach, with great dive spots in the area.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Compassion must be in check - hard times in Cuba

In the past, my experience with Cubans has always been fantastic! A culture rich in kind, welcoming people who wanted to share who they were. This time, I felt how their reality affects their lives. They were tired, had difficulty engaging with people, and even among themselves, there was tension. Be prepared because the food is phew. I don't know if it was just [... read more] my hotel (4.5 stars) or generalized but if you eat less meat than the others, it will be difficult. Bring what you can't live without. I've seen a lot of guests get pretty sharply corrected when trying to remember the name of their drink or using a Spanish word wrong :( The employee who worked at the bar of the main hotel acted with disrespect towards his female colleagues, I saw it on several occasions and the discomfort created was palpable amongst us. As for the rooms, ours had no hot water. We notified them for 3 days in a row and had to run to the staff to find out what the situation was, nobody knew and it took a lot of our time running around to fix it. We demanded a room change on the 3rd day, honestly, I felt like they didn't care much :( The water boys should knock at least 3 times before entering the room. It was just not happening. They slightly knock once (quickly), put the card in and enter the rooms in 2 sec, not enough time to actually figured it is indeed at your door. We were caught naked before we were even sure the knock was at our door. When we went to the reception, they suggested we put a chair at our door to prevent this from happening again. We had to consult with the other hotel reception to get a card (do not disturb), our hotel did not have them and had no interest in making our stay safe and comfortable apart from telling us to barricade ourselves once in the room. This is unacceptable. Over all, even though we were able to enjoy a few activities and a few good people/employees (the bar tender right beside the theater was amazing) at the resort, I feel that the general experience which was unpleasant largely colored our vacation. We will never go back for sure.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Excellent resort

We did a lot of walking on the beach, swimming in the pools, dancing during the classes and in the evening. The food was very good and the staffs were friendly and helpful. We will go back there for sure and stay a bit longer than 7 days.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Nice Resort to relax

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar was a clean and pleasant resort. The lobby is spacious and modern and a great place to relax with a great view of the ocean. The room we stayed in was clean and plenty of room. The wifi connection was not stable in the room, however was strong and stable in the lobby, the buffet restaurant and the lounge/bar area. The beds and pillows were average. The accomodation buildings surrounded the pool which was very convenient. The beach was beautiful, the sand so soft and the water so clear and blue. Music, drinks and food all available at the beach. Entertainment at the lobby bar nightly was well done and fun to watch followed by the DJ playing great dance music. One of the few negatives was the activities that were listed daily did not take place. This is an area the resort could improve upon, by having fun games and / or activities taking place at the beach and also at the pool. There were also no kayaks or peddle boats or snorkeling equipment available on the beach. Only one a la carte restaurant was open along with the buffet and there was a snack bar by the pool. However it was more of a casual restaurant rather than what would come to mind when you say "snack bar". There also needs to be more lighting along the paths and walkways to the building where rooms are located. All in all the resort was good if you are just looking for relaxation on the beach or by the pool. The staff was friendly and helpful. At most I would rate the resort a high 3.5+ or 4 *

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Amazingly fantastic resort

I've been to this resort throughout all its name changes. It has only gotten better. I understand the that cuba has taken a little longer to recover from covid, so I just go with the flow. Everything was fantastic from the old staff that remember me, to the new staff who did there very best.

Melia Internacional: Great time

Very nice resort All day Cafe with great coffee. Beach was wonderful and loved the jeep safari My daughter's wedding was here and restaurant and flowers and decorations were lovely. Food was good....great omlettes at breakfast.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Very good resort!

Beautiful grounds, very good room with balcony, the beach/ocean just amazing. The food is OK - we know that Cuba has some food shortage. They grilled beaf, chicken and fish everyday during lunch and dinner in the buffet. For pasta lovers there is a special corner. Some veggies adn fruits were always there as well.Coffee is always great in the Rock and Piano bars. The stuff at the resort are great, very friendly. It was a perfect stay at the Paradisus . Thank you all !!!

Club Kawama: Awesome time at a wonderful resort

Our room was right on the beach front. I could hear the waves at night which I find is truly relaxing. The employees were very kind and always there to help. There was entertainment every evening and very enjoyable to watch. (sometimes there was also entertainment in the day). There was always something to do (especially go to the beach or go for a walk to explore the area), and something to eat (as long as one is not too fussy) If you like simple condiments like butter, ketchup or mustard,,,I s [... read more]uggest to bring your own. We were in a superior room with lots of space and a safe to keep our valuables. The maid (s) were very friendly and helpful when we asked for more towels or toiletries. I will definitely be going to Kawama again in the future. (April -2024 already booked) I will be in a standard room my next time and I am sure it will be as enjoyable as my first time.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great Resort

Overall, good resort however, it needs a lot of updates, chairs, cushions need to be cleaned and updated, rooms need to be cleaned properly, dust on the furniture. Rooms smells old and damp, moldy. Grounds, spa, beaches were wonderful and had the best massage with Chachi. For a tropical place, was so surprised there were no fresh fruits, only papayas and star fruits. Lots to eat, but I do not eat pork or beef but loved that the had lots of seafood. The staff were all were helpful and professional. They only need to update the rooms and cushions etc and a bit of paint and maintenance to the structures. Grounds are beautiful.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: OK Resort

Arrived 11AM, had to wait till 5:30 for our room( we did royal service). Room was in the "Hilltop area", not in the 2 story units around the pool as described on the website. The hilltop room had a separate bedroom and 2 bathrooms...nice. Somewhat out dated but ok. The room we should have got was more updated. Loads of hot water in the rooms!! Buffet [... read more] only half open and food selection very limited. If it wasn't for the a la cartes, I would have shot myself. Dinners were excellent. Premiums liquors and wine were great. Beach was long and had walks everyday. Lots of shells and bits of coral on the beach. Preferred Cayo Cocoa to the Varadero beach. Our expectations are never high in Cuba, its inexpensive and a short flight from TO. The last night, 3/4 of the resort lost water. Offered another room to shower and tidy up. They offered us free royal service for another visit. Overall enjoyed the stay but will try another resort next trip.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Beautiful Beach

Dated hotel and definitely needs some upgrades. Took me 4 days to get a remote for TV and hangers for my room. It wasn’t until I asked to speak to the manager that they moved me to a room that had both. The maid took some items that were not left for her then left me a note thanking me. I did tell front desk and they did not really seem concerned. After that I left everything locked in my suitcase. Food, it’s Cuba so I was not expecting much. Best part of resort is location and the beach.

Starfish Jibacoa: Awesome stay at wonderful Resort

The staff at Starfish Jibacoa are so helpful; they were ready with any and all answers to questions. I visited in Nov 2019 and everything is improved: A/C in the rooms are new and quiet, food is much improved and very tasty!! I would recommend Starfish Jibacoa to everyone! Bring your snorkel gear to enjoy the reef only 100 meters from shore! Loved it 😉😎💕

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Outstanding staff make the experience over the top...

The Sanctuary section of Grand memories is Adult Only, so it is much smaller, more intimate. They have their own pool, beach section, bars, dining. We dined a la carte each evening, the food was very good. We checked out the Buffet at the Grand Memories - it seemed simple, not appealing. The beach section was small, but open to explore the broader beach as far as you desire. Accommodations were good, but evidence of areas in need of maintenance (shower door does not seal tight so water escape [... read more]s onto bathroom floor). The part of the resort that was best were the staff, starting with the butlers - Norvi and Jose. Their attention to details was exceptional. All other staff from bar, dining, beach, ground keepers, etc all were excellent and fluent speaking English. They made you feel welcome.

Melia Las Dunas: Dirty room, cockroaches at bufet, sharks in water

Very nice gardens, fumigation for mosquitoes and black flies. Food ok. Dirty room 3111, disgusting floors and tub. Yellow, stained towels and bed shits. No refills of anything in the fridge. Staff don't pay attention to you if you don't tip, at the beach bar staff is grumpy and unhappy. Beach not cleaned of weeds. Apparently management has no money for this job. 3 days we had sharks in the water beside shore. Staff saying this is normal for November December. This sharks don't eat people. Really [... read more], you want to try? To get beach chairs and shade you have to wake up at 6am everyday. On Thursday to Sunday Cubans arrived, it was nightmare: long lines for food, no food left after them, they fill their bags with food, very demanding and rude, noisy, they took over the resort and it was crazy. Evening Entertainment only on Saturday and Sunday, the rest of the days was some music, demonstration of clothing which they sale afterwards. You have to tip separately for: cleaning, toilet paper, towels, to refill your fridge, to eat at the restaurant, to have coffee, to go with catamaran, basically for everything. This is my second time at this resort. Never coming again. I do not recommend this resort.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Wonderful resort

I just came back from the 2 weeks vacation in this beautiful resort. First the grounds were exceptionally well maintained due to the hard work of many gardeners who are working there. The beach is beautiful, it does changes several times a day due to high and low tide, hence it’s difficult to predict the size of the sitting area. Beach sand is white and perfectly fine. Staff is exceptionally good and helpful anywhere in the resort. Front reception bar is top notch with premium alcohol served. Thanks to all of the bartenders and ladies working there. We had swim out suite and was definitely worth to have it. I will definitely come back to this hotel in the future.

Melia Buenavista: Love this small resort!

This was our second trip to this quiet and relaxing resort. We love the small size with quick access to everything including the 3 beaches. The entertainment staff Navy, Anderson and Marcos work hard to provide fun for all guests with yoga, aqua gym, dancing, water sports, dancing and dominoes. Our butlers Eliney and Rey were great, always pitching in to help out if needed in the restaurants. It was good to take the shuttle to the other Melia resorts for dinner for variety. Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Terrible conditions

I've been going to this resort for 25 plus years and I'm sorry to say I won't be back. In less than a year this resort has gone downhill big time. example grounds not kept up grass very long everywhere ,very little gardeners around to do the work. Pool not maintained couldn't swim in it last 2 days. Very short on staff. The people in the suites had the maid for he first day and did not have one for the rest of the week Towels in my room hung back up to use again because use there were no clean  [... read more]towels available. could no change beach towels because they had none for the whole week. When I first went into my room no sheets on bed but I was one of the lucky ones I got a sheet for my bed a lot of other guests weren't so lucky, that was ok because I don't change them at home every day. Food was what to be expected lots for rice dishes ,chicken some beef pork and fish .Guests who arrived on Saturday were put in rooms that weren't cleaned no sheets at all on the bed. The buffet cross contaminate because they don't have enough serving spoons for the food they put out. They are very short staffed. The best thing at this resort is the Beach. Sunwing I would expect that because it is one of the hotels connected to you that your firm would check it out to see that it was up to standards.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Good resort

The resort is situated on the beautiful beach with crystal water, it is great wing foiling and kiting. The beach stretches for several miles . Colorful villas with spacious rooms. Good service, the staff is very friendly, The food is good but not enough fresh vegetables.
