Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Good

The Grand Mathu resort is well laid out, rooms and maid service is top notch. Three pools plus a children's pool are great. Ramps for the handicap is available in most areas. However getting to the beach is a bit of a problem and once there the sand is very gritty, water shoes are recommended. The food at this resort is not 5 star quality, we have vested Cuba 14 times and have had better food at a 4 star resort.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Good family resort

Great hotel, grounds are beautiful and well kept. The pools and beaches were great, the staff was excellent especially the entertainment staff. Unfortunately the food was poor definitely not the resort to go to if you want good food.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great time :)

Had a really nice time. Beach is amazing . Staff was great. Food was pretty good, always found something to eat. Could be a little better selection and some of the prep food lines where a little long. Maintence could use improvements. All in all for Cuba a great place

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful Resort

We've been to Cayo Coco 5 times now but this was our first stay at Melia Jardines Del Rey. The resort is beautiful and very clean. Our rooms were nice and kept very clean. Food was good for the most part. The pizza "hut" was delicious. I loved that they have a buffet lunch set up right at the beach. We only ate at the 24 hr snack bar once as the food was not great and our waitress was horrible. Main buffet dinner had amazing wait staff. By day 3 at our regular table our waitress would have o [... read more]ur drinks ready and waiting by the time we got back from the buffet without us even asking. The beach was fabulous. Had to get up early to get prime seating but there was always chairs and huts available. Pools looked nice alothough we never went there. Night time lounge was very popular (I didn't like the fact you could smoke everywhere however) Loved the Catamaran tour we did as well. All in all it was a great trip.

Hotel Mojito: A great time again!

We returned to the Mojito for 2weeks again this April and had a wonderful time. My only negative is the shows are not as good. When the local band Tahiti plays, everyone is up dancing. Would be great to have more of Tahiti! Food was amazing again and of course the staff become your family. We will keep going again and again.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Resort

Grounds are quite nice, theatre not very attractive, drab. The shows were very short and only 4 new ones and too much dancing and not enough singing. Food pretty bad. Much better at the Iberostar last year near Varadaro. Some of the wait staff in dining room were not very friendly, which surprised me, but the young fellow doing the eggs in the morning was very fast and a sweetheart.. Room was not very clean. Beach was wonderful.

Sol Cayo Coco: AMAZING RESORT

We spent a beautiful relaxing week at Sol and enjoyed every minute of our stay here.Resort was very nice and clean with beautiful pools and two gorgeous beaches. No complains on menu at La Arcadia buffet restaurant,where we always find plenty of tasty meats, fish and salads there.We enjoyed bar at the lobby with entertainment there, especially singers who get us to dance.We had a wonderful holiday at Sol Cayo Coco, thanks to all of your wonderful staff and hope to see you next year again.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Wonderful resort/ amazing people

The Iberostar Dacquari is a wonderful resort. This is the 2nd time coming to this resort and remembered a few staff from our last visit. Overall, we love the staff at this resort but in saying this, I believe some Staff at the lobby desk should always remember: first impressions are important. Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Resort is not ready to accommodate full guest capacity

We had a lot of issues with shortage of hot and cold water on peak times. We ended up showering in the courtesy showers on the mail floor as there was no water in our room Need to add more umbrellas for shade in the pool area and they should use the umbrellas that are not used in the court yard Entertainment is good some evenings but not others. They continued to say that they will look into it but nothing happened. We had a 9am appointment with the water technician in our room and they never showed and they never called us to indicate that they will not make the appointment They would not offer us to switch room or anythins

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Resort has water issues

This hotel opened early March and based on one weed there (April 17 -24) it is obvious that there is not enough hot water to accommodate all the guests at early evening rush hours. It also did not have cold water at different times during the mornings. The pools are very nice but not enough shade. We understand that the trees have not grown yet but they should add umbrellas in the mean time. There were 14 umbrellas not used in the entertainment court yard and these should be moved to the pool  [... read more]area The beach is very nice but again not enough shade and the shade that they have built is too big for 2 loungers so small shading may allow for more shading space Food was not for a 4.5 hotel rating even for Cuba. Not enough selection and the line ups for food preparation were long especially at the pasta station

Hotel Camino del Mar: Good resort

This is a smaller resort 40 min. from airport. They have done an incredible job of bringing it back to its splendor after the Sept. hurricane. The gardeners are constantly working keeping it manicured. What impressed me the most was the staff. Everday with smiles and a constant commitment to your needs. I met with serval vacationers who were repeat customers. Lunch and dinner had a great variety of food. 2 grills with fresh fish, seafood, meat, chicken, and shish ka bobs. Also a pasta station which you can customize, they even have pesto. Many salad and pickle items. Several hot and cold vegetables to choose from. Fresh fruit, pastries and ice cream for desert. If booking a water excursion do it through Sammy the lifeguard. His prices are fabulous! Also Yowan a lifeguard helped us and was very knowledgeable about water life. Thanks for you companionship. This is a dated resort but kept very clean, and attentitive to customer service. Would highly recommend.

Hotel Mojito: Home from Home

Staff treat you as family , hugs and kisses every day . New beach as been added ,due to recent hurricane damage . Beach rivals that at Varadero now . Pools were always clean and inviting . Buffet and a la carte restaurant were always immaculate ,with plenty of choices . Rooms have recently been refurbished , bathrooms are a little dated though . Catered to the young children very well , before the adult shows began . They should drop the nightly bingo game , as the compares have limited English ,always ended up being long and boring . Disco for the younger people starts at 11and goes until 2 am.. Not a 5 star hotel , but well worth the money , Staff were amazing and friendly with everyone . Side trips also available . .

Melia Jardines del Rey: beautiful beach

you come to this resort for the beach and the low price , the beach is long , sandy and very calm . It does have a couple of nice coral and grass sections to offer great waist deep snorkling, the price is right and its only a 15 min drive from the airport . the hotel itself is a typical Cuban hotel it has it problems and shortages if you are looking to find things wrong you will find them and ruin your vacation but with a positive attitude everthing is here to give you a great vacation

Hotel Camino del Mar: Love this resort

Love this resort mostly because it's small easy to get around ,301 rooms .very nice staff, very nice view from the room pool and beach view , I would definitely go again one of my best in Cuba so far ,food was excellent especially the buffet , calamari and shrimp which I love , the fish is awesome , pasta and more . Hotel Camino del Mar: nice resort/nice beach

We had a wonderful time at the Melia Cayo Guillermo. Once the bar tenders and staff get to know you they are very accommodating. Our room was kept nice, fresh bottle of water every day, but, no restocking of the fridge. The beach was perfect. Awesome water and a great place for the sail boarders, even if you are just watching! Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful Resort

The Resort is simply amazing, Everything thing is in close walking distance and very, very clean. The dinner buffet was a hit and miss, Breakfast and lunch Buffet was good. They had 3 egg stations every morning, with very little line ups. Staff always had smile on their faces and very helpful. Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Great resort with awesome staff

We traveled as a group of six (ages between 61 and 71) after doing a lot of fact finding and research. This is our 14th visit to Cuba. We knew going to this resort, that there was no beach to speak of. In fact our Tripcentral Representative repeated this comment three times to me before I booked and I did the same with the other couples I was booking for...so no surprises. There is NO BEACH but there is a fabulous boardwalk and entry into the most beautiful, crystal clear Caribbean ocean water,  [... read more]filled with lots of things to see when snorkeling. Not the easiest way in, however they are working on an access to the water for those who find it difficult to navigate the stairs into the water (elderly and small children). I heard on the bus on our way back to the airport that people were disappointed with the food. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the food. Its a buffet, with food that appeals to so many different nationalities, so if you see something you don't like, don't choose it. There was plenty of "regular food" for Canadians who are used to bacon, eggs, cereal, fruit, pancakes, chicken, pork, pasta etc. without having to try the more adventurous items on the buffet. We are way too hard on our Cuban friends. They are catering to many, many different palettes. The service was impeccable, the staff super attentive, and every single person we met went out of their way to get us what we needed or wanted, even without having to ask. Cappuccinos and black coffees delivered to our waiting table of six each morning. Be nice and you will get fantastic service. Be rude and you will still get service, but perhaps not as quickly. Make sure that you visit the Cigar Bar in the evening...Onei the bartender is awesome! The rooms were clean, bright and well stocked every day. The beach bar waiters delivered your drinks to your chair, with a smile, all day long. The snack bar at the beach, a few yards away from the chairs and palapas was an awesome place to take a break from the very hot sun and enjoy a quick bite and an ice cold beverage. A huge hats off to Yadir, who took us on an emergency "dentist" excursion off the resort and waited for us and acted as our interpreter, problem solved, and delivered us back to the hotel all withing 45 minutes. If you expect to have the same foods and experience as you would in a hotel in the city where you are from, then I would suggest you stay home. Cuba is a beautiful gem in the Carribean filled with beautiful people. Miss it already! And yes I would return to this resort in a heartbeat.

Pros: What can I say? Every thing from the fantastic people that work very hard at this resort to the very delicious food We have already booked for our return trip to this resort Con: The only con I can say is the size of the pool (small) and the limit amount of loungers available as all the chairs have towels on them by the time the sun comes up. People reserving up to 10 and more chairs and people do not show up till lunch The resorts need to start cracking down on this practice  [... read more]( here and everywhere) Plus side on this is there is a lot of spots at the Ocean which is what we really are going for All in All I would strongly recommend this resort

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful Beach

The rooms were nice but make sure you have toilet paper and towels. Some staff we're amazing while others frustrated you, for example you asked for a drink and a half hour later tell another server you were waiting for a drink and she comes back that they don't have it. Why couldn't the first server tell you this?
