Riu Santa Fe: Amazing and clean

great food,clean, very helpful staff..... take a cab to the marina and see the market but you don't really need to leave resort it has every thing .Lots of goods being sold on the beach ( blanket plates silver goods hats sun glasses )A great get away

Riu Lupita: Wonderful vacation spot!

If you are looking for a clean, not too big, relatively quiet, resort to spend your vacation, this is the place for you. We recently spent a week here and we're wowed by everything from the rooms, to the service. Everything was so clean and the staff were so accommodating. If you asked for it, you got it, and with a smile. The only down side was that the resort was not right on the beach but the beach was worth the 10 minute drive by shuttle that was provided by the resort. Having a restaurant a [... read more]nd a pool (both part of the main resort but off sight), was great. It meant that you could stay all day at the beach with most of the resort amenities there as well. The food at the resort was exceptional, and this comes from a couple of self proclaimed "picky eaters". There was a wide variety at every meal in the buffet, which would accommodate most any dietary requirements, or preferences. The only thing that we didn't see was peanut butter. Not sure if that was because they didn't have it, or we just couldn't find it, but if you have a PB addiction, you might want to bring your own. We happened to be at the resort on Valentine's Day and the staff went all out for this, not only with the food, but displays and ice sculptures as well. The young people providing the entertainment were all so fun and full of energy. They were talented but beyond this, they truly seemed to love their jobs. We can't say enough positive about this place. We would (and have already), recommended it to friends.

Riu Vallarta: Beautiful Resort!

Riu Vallarta is a truly unique experience. The hotel is fabulous. Our room was perfect. Lovely view of the pool area, grounds and of course the most amazing sunsets! The staff are all super friendly and very helpful. They offer a variety of entertainment options throughout the day as well as evening shows. The food in the restaurants is really good, again offering great choices between 3 restaurants and a fantastic buffet, not to mention the bar(s) and lounges.

Riu Bambu: RIU Bambu Febuary 2017

Stayed at the RIU Bambu February 2nd - 9th. Weather was perfect. Beach beautiful as always. Great for swimming, walking or just people watching. Stayed in a renovated room. Small but all we needed as we dont go south to sit in our room. Ate at the four Ala Cartes. Steak house was the best. Steak, Salmon and Ribs were all very good. Asian restaurant was buffet style and the food was good. Service a little slow. Italian restaurant was good except the Chicken. It needed some sauce or some [... read more]thing as it was very dry. Mexican was also buffet style and very good. Nice they now have three pools with one party one and two quieter ones. Lots of kids though. Entertainment during the day was fun. Night shows were also ok. Nice to sit outside and enjoy a drink or two after dinner with some music going on. All in all a fun week. Reno's coming May 1st will only serve to improve this section of the resort.

Riu Negril: Awesome Vacation!

We just returned from a week at the Riu Negril. We went with a group of 12 and really enjoyed our holiday. Just a few points you will want to know about this resort. You cannot make reservations at the Al la carte restaurants. They do have two dinner seatings and three at the Asian restaurant but be prepared to line up for dinner. Or if you don't want to do that you can just go to the Buffet which was excellent every time we ate there. You must try the Jerk Chicken they serve on the beach  [... read more]for lunch. It is amazing! The lunch buffet at the Seagull was also very good. The Entertainment Staff were fabulous. Happy Feet, King Burger and the rest of the crew were so much fun. If you want to do an excursion I would recommend the Catamaran tour to Rick's Cafe and Margaritaville with Big Bird and his crew from Scuba Caribe. What a fun and amazing day and the sunset was just beautiful. Special thank you to Tricia at Scuba Caribe for being so friendly and helpful. All and all we had a wonderful trip and would not hesitate to go back.

Riu Negril: Amazing

This was our first trip South. The Hotel was great I would have to rate it as a 10 note a 5 star. The staff grounds and food was outstanding. I will and have told everyone I know it was the best trip I have ever had. Thank you for making a dream come true for my husband and I. We will be going back

Riu Reggae: Average 4*

We had a good time at this resort but i will include an honest review of it. The resort is close to the airport so a quick shuttle and you are there. There are planes that fly over the resort but they only last maybe 5 seconds and there are not that many. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The resort itself is very compact so there is always lots of people everywhere. The restaurants were good with the steakhouse our favourite and the Kulinarium our least favourite(lobster w [... read more]as not great and beef was just ok.) Pumpkin soup was very good. All a la cartes are first come first served but we did all of them and only waited a short time for 2. Buffet has a moderate selection and there is always something to eat. Chef's night has grilled lobster - very tasty. Bars serve brand name alcohol and there are blender drinks and redstripe and red stripe light on tap. Most people queued up and when they asked who is next would indicate the next person with a few jumping ahead. The jerk hut only served jerk chicken (no pork) and sides. Flavour was not what i am used too (too sweet) but there was some pepper sauce which brought it around. Our room was mountain view and was quiet. There is a fan in the room which eliminated the need for a/c. Bathroom has double sinks and a frosted glass wall between the shower and the main room. Annoying at night if your partner gets up, turns on the light and you are a light sleeper. Has the standard Riu mini bar and it is restocked every other day. There was enough channels on the tv and included a few HBO channels. The beach is not very big but you can walk through the Palace to the riu mo bay which adds a bit to it. Sand can be coarse and muddy/weedy the more you go out. Swimming area is small and there is very little to see when snorkelling. They don't want you going out of the designated area. The pools are like swimming in a fountain they are about 3' deep. They are advertised as infinity pools but to get the infinity effect you would have to submerge part of your face and ignore the chairs in front of you. One person was injured entering the pool from the beach side. Transitions are very uneven or large steps from pool deck to beach. Watersports were good and included stand up paddle boarding and were always in use but you did not have to wait long or at all at times. The vibe is very much a party hotel. We had fun but it was too tight with all the people in such a small area. Would i recommend it - if you are into a party place and catch a deal and what i have noted works for you then yes. If you are looking for "luxurious adult's only"(straight from the brochure) then no. Depends what you are expecting.

Riu Guanacaste: Great visit

Just came back from the Riu Guanacaste for a one week holiday. They were very accommodating for us. We first had an ocean view room on the second floor over the lobby with two single beds pushed together and I ordered one bed. When I brought this to their attention they gave us another room on the 5th floor at the end with the most beautiful view. They also accommodated me to make a very special valentines day dinner for my girlfriend and I. The diving was just okey, visibility wasn't the greate [... read more]st. You have to go down the beach to the monkey bar and try the food at night, feed the monkeys in the morning , we really enjoyed it. Overall it was a very nice vacation.

Riu Flamingos: palace on the sand

Riu Jalisco is a very nice resort. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were spacious and clean. There were plenty of restaurants and bars. Nice staff! And great activities crew. The hotel lost water pressure for a night, so that sucked not being able to shower or flush the toilets

Riu Playacar: Beautiful beach, close to Playa

I travelled with my two children, age 11 and 20. We were given a King bed our first night and was placed in a room close to the noisy theatre. The next night they moved us the to a double room with a cot and closer to the beach. If you can, request rooms in buildings 6,7 or 8. The entertainment staff was incredible. The food in the buffetts was also really good, better than the restraunts. The beach was beautiful and the resort was very clean. Great resort if you like a smaller resort. Everythi [... read more]ng was within a minutes walk. Also, a nice little shopping area with a Starbucks right across the street. You could walk into Playa or take a cab for 90 pesos. I would absolutely stay here again.

Riu Flamingos: Great place to stay.!

Likes: The food, lots of variety on the buffets, more than I expected. The al-a-carte restaurants were great, especially the steakhouse. Sport's var open 24 hours and had sandwiches, hotdogs, burgers and fruit. Service was always excellent from all the friendly staff from groundskeeper to front desk. Most of the bar staff made really good mojitos and pina coladas. The entertainment staff tried really hard to engage with as many people as possible. Place was always being cleaned from bathroom [... read more]s to lobby floors. Plenty of chairs on the Beach, good entertainment, better than expected. Rooms were comfortable and came with a fridge stocked with pop and water to use with your 4 bottles of booze in suite. Cans of beer in your fridge too. Dislikes: The coffee was terrible, I mean not good at all. Only survived on double shot American's from the 24 hour sports bar which used regular coffee and not expresso. Crampy toilet paper that was 2 ply but worked like 1 ply. Our room only had a stand up shower that was a nice size but hardly compare to a soaker tub. Maid service was always later in the day, closer to supper time and sometimes that had to come back to give you towels or to restock fridge. Went without first any water and then just cold water for almost 20 hours on the 2nd to last day which meant you couldn't flush the toilet.

Riu Palace Bavaro: Beautiful spot!

Great place to stay. The rooms are very clean , and towels and sheets changed daily. The variety of food was amazing. If you couldn't find something you liked ! , I would be amazed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The beach was heaven. I would recommend this resort to all of my friends and family.

Riu Flamingos: Riu Jalisco

The Riu Jalisco is a beautiful resort. The ocean, pools, dining rooms are all within walking distance. The hotel is in the shape of a horseshoe more or less which makes all things central. The grounds are kept spotless and the rooms are spacious. Very clean throughout resort.The food is very good with good variety and the special nights are amazing. The Canadian night was very special and well worth your time. The music on this night was extremely beautiful. The staff are polite and always honor [... read more]ed any request we had. They are friendly and make you feel very welcome. If I had one complaint it would be that there is no coffee maker in the rooms. No need to complain otherwise.

Riu Republica: Outstanding

Well let me start with amazing people,food,drinks , coco bongo. All the trips we went on were really fun and the tour guides were very good at there jobs no one was left behind sober or intoxicated. The locals are extremely friendly and kind. I would go back in a heartbeat. The resort was perfectly laid out.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Beautiful resort!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort. We are never disappointed when we visit these resorts because the accommodations, food, entertainment and facilities are superb and we always come away relaxed and good value for the money. Whenever we travel we always look for a Riu resort. Costa Rica of course is a beautiful country and you can pretty much depend on the weather at this time of year. We are already planning our next vacation!!! Thank you

Riu Merengue: Outstanding service!

Grounds were carefully taken care off everyday. People worked hard at whatever their job was. Maids at cleaning, servers at serving well and with a smile, reception at being helpful. We travelled with kids and absolutely every single service person made sure to play or be gracious with our kids. No one was creppy either. Food.... surprisingly for an 'all inclusive" food was outstanding. There was just 1 thing that made our trip a bit harder and was the lack of at ATM. The 3 RIU's are togeth [... read more]er hosting 3000 at a time and there was no ATM as it had damaged. This was unacceptable since we wanted to leave tips, buy extras or spend on memorabilias and liquor. Please administration - do bring a good ATM back its crucial. Overall We really enjoyed the RIU's and look forward to travelling again with them!

Riu Republica: Beautiful Resort

It was a beautiful resort, everything was very clean, people were very friendly and worked very hard. Food was great. The beach was very nice. But I was surprised that there was not any life guards at the ocean. The ocean was very rough most of our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Riu Santa Fe: Best resort I've ever had the pleasure to spend a week

Great service ..staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and cordial The hotel maintenance was next to none... I would strongly recommend this hotel and the Sunwing team to any friends or family members

Riu Merengue: great resort

Been to this resort four times plan on going back againThis is a big resort Always clean great food lots of chairs and sun get to use pools and have lunch at the other resorts staff is very friendly always smiling

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Needs some updates but still a great time!

This hotel is in need of a bit of TLC but we still had a blast. Ocean views out of every room, excellent air conditioning, AMAZING food, great service. Believe me, you'll love it. Great price for a decent hotel. I believe there are construction plans for this yeah, can't wait to see what they do! 10/10 would visit again!
