Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Resort
The resort was very clean and kid friendly. The staff was ready to help every step of the way. the food was ok, but thats everywhere in Cuba. Overall our experience with the resort was excellent. I will definitely go back
Paradisus Varadero: Beautiful Resort
I would like to thank you kindly for the wonderful vacation spot. The beach was incredible, the service was excellent. I would recommend this to anyone. Thank you again for all your help. A trip I will never forget.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Great Family Resort
We loved our stay at the Jardines Del Rey. All of the facilities were upgraded and the rooms were in great condition. The food was tasty (smoked salmon every day for breakfast and lunch!). The entertainment staff was great and the daycare ladies were caring. The beach is simply stunning.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Large hotel
Great staff and services. Large place. Busy. Beautiful beach. Units close to the main building will be noisy at night from late nite entertainment... so if you like quiet stay further away from the main hotel lobby. Some infrastucture problems like low water preasure in shower or toilets. But overall a gd resort.
Melia Cayo Coco: Great staff, average resort
We stayed in a lagoon room. The view and terrace with lounge chairs was lovely but the room wasn't anything special. Food was plentiful and not bad. The beach was long and great for walking but would have liked to see it cleaned better. The weather wasn't great, so perhaps that was part of the reason? The staff at this hotel are excellent though and really go out of their way to make you feel special. I think we were expecting a Melia to be a bit higher quality compared to other hotels in C [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Amazing resort
Good condition, check in was fast and easy, rooms are clean and comfortable, food is great, lots of variety, the a la cartes were delicious, very nice beach and lots of beach chairs, the shows are very good and fun to watch, and the staff is very friendly and helpful, I will come back to this hotel.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Not a 5*
This hotel was very dissapointing. The food was ok.The drinks were not good. The staff were not very friendly. The entertainement was non existent during the day. Beach was beautiful. Not a 5* resort.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Famulous resort - let me tell you why
Hotel staff superb, friendly can't do enough for you, clean rooms , hot showers, beaches likely best in Cuba, all the boating available, snorkeling paradise, great food & seafood especially. Short bus trip to resort & we loved there jazz & tenor singers, just before the diner hour. Also appreciated our travel agents help from the Swan's - yes we would come back in a flash!! signed Derwyn Sandy, Brad & Julie SWAN
Memories Cayo Largo: Amazing beach
Although we loved the beach at Sol Club, we had what appeared to be a "comedy of errors" on this our 7th visit to this resort. Our toilet did not work for our first 24 hours...but they did come to fix it finally. We rarely had hot water.....at the most it was luke warm in the evening but cold for a morning shower. We requested a technician several times and were finally told that some units rely on solar power for hot water....seeing as we had a few cloudy days the solar panels couldn't supp [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Enjoyed Varadero....
I enjoyed the hotel but mostly the friendliness of the Cuban people. The beach in Varadero is beautiful. The amenities within the resort were adequate. Unfortunately, our experience with Sunwing was not as pleasant. Hopefully, my concerns with Sunwing will be addressed.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: A Nice Getaway for a Good Price
Melia Peninsula Varadero Overall, this was a very nice resort with very friendly and helpful staff. I would visit this resort again. It was cold the first week of January, so people couldn't enjoy the beach and other outdoor activities. It would have been nice if the hotel had more rainy day activities for guests. Positives: - close to the airport - comfortable rooms - pretty beach - food was good/adequate - staff were accommodating, helpful and friendly - good entertainment: I l [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: I would not recommend this hotel
Not only did it take 4 hours to get our room; when we finally did there were NO towels and or pillow cases. This was the case with many guests who were staying at the resort the same week. It took several calls to the front desk to finally get them, there was no compassion on their end. New/clean beach towels were also a hassle to get, if you were lucky and patient enough to line up every morning before 9am. The resort kept running out of mint (for Mojitos), beer and various items in the a la c [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Melia is back
One can see the evidence of destruction that was Irma back in November. The glorious gardens have been decimated but are being replaced and replanted as we speak. Given a little time their former glory will return. Meanwhile the staff are absolutely fabulous. Everyone is smiling, helpful, cheerful and very upbeat and positive. Our accommodation was very clean and was maintained that way without a problem. Lots of hot water and clean towels. The standard of food is excellent - eve [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Relaxing vacation
The resort was beautiful and clean! Enough food selection for a fairly picky eater. The staff were friendly, especially the pool staff - they come around and take drink orders, so no need to get up! Plenty of beach loungers on a lovely beach. There were kayaks, pedal boats and HobieCats for use (included). Lots of beautiful shells to hunt for and bring home. Only issue with the pool-side loungers was people leaving towels on them all day, never to return. We just ended up taking what we needed, [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Disappointing!
As we boarded the plane an hour late and with only one Sunwing ticket taker we arrived in Cuba at Varadero airport only to be an hour late leaving to go to the resort. Also an unscheduled stop to let a passenger use the washroom caused another delay. The moment we arrived we were asked for our passports and were told to go into a room. Some of us stayed behind to watch our passports. The others were only told where we could get a meal at 11:30 at night. Why we asked? Unfortunately the weather wa [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: poorly managed resort, unacceptable for a Melia resort
There were SO many issues with this resort, here are a few examples: Check in was completely disorganized for no reason, handing out maps to some people and bracelets to other people, when everyone needed both. This is not complicated yet they made it so. They gave us a map of the resort that had the wrong info on it (ie the snack bar location is wrong) There was a huge line up to get into the buffet at dinner every night, once we waited 30 minutes to get in, not great when you are traveling [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: great resort
Food is very good ,but overall its the staff who make the this place a paridise, cant name all of them ,but special thanks to Rolando! Its our 4 time there and looking foward to go back agian.Very relaxing cause its adult only.
Melia Marina Varadero: Good Resort
The resort does not look as nice as the pictures show. It’s an older looking resort. The food is pretty good for Cuba, the buffet had quite a variety. I found a few things I liked and had it everyday. The snack bar next to the pool is good, you can get a burger and fries or sandwich and fries. The daily entertainment isn’t the best, I definitely preferred the live music over the dancing shows. The ocean is absolutely amazing, very clear. There are free water activities like canoeing included [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Great vacation
This was my second stay at Melia Jardines del Rey. The good: Beach is stunning, lots of lounge chairs at both beach and pool. Hot and cold drinks were great. Food was surprisingly good. Entertainment was amazing. Some staff went out of their way to be helpful. The bad: the restaurant managers have poor customer service and don't appear to be well trained. As a result, too many lineups for food and drinks at most restaurants and bars. Staff seems overwhelmed and not happy, this is sad as I be [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Cayo Coco, Cuba
Nice long beach. Some snorkeling but limited from our experience. Nice pools but not heated - a problem when the weather is not hot. Food was as expected for Cuba. A la cart restaurants were mixed. International Bistro was our favourite. Drinks were basic. Rooms were ok. Pillows were not comfortable. Service was good. Would recommend if at a budget price.
