Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Great Resort - Great Vacation!

We have visited this resort many times. Our last visit was in 2018, just prior to the resort renovations. Our most recent visit was 24 February - 4 March 2020. The changes to the resort are wonderful. Bright and airy colours, everything new and refreshed. We stayed in the Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites side and had a room on the second floor of our building. We ate at several of the a la carte restaurants for dinner and the Saona Buffet for breakfast. We noticed that there are improved choices for food from our last visit. There are more made to order options at the buffet and lots of other healthy eating options. Similar for the a la carte restaurants. Anna at the Saona Buffet was great! Animation staff were great. They provided fun beach aerobics and dance lessons daily. The gym has been enlarged and has lots of good equipment-cardio, weights, etc. We enjoyed the new entertainment area located at the front of the resort. You can sit under the stars and listen to a band every night. What I really go for is the wonderful beach. Velvet-soft sand. Lots of palapa and lounge chairs. Not too many other resorts nearby. You can walk on the beach for 30 minutes before coming to another resort. The staff keep the beach rally clean. All the beach facilities are kept very clean. We had a great time, and will return again!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Mother & Daughters week in paradise!

The Hotel really is beautiful, very clean! Which was my main concern. The food was fabulous which was my second concern; and being that we were there (2 females without a male) I had a bit of fear for safety, but I can say it felt very safe right from the start. But what did happen was very unexpected because I’ve never experienced any “bumps” in the roads on any other vacations I’ve been on, I’m adding this to my review because I did read many of them before going and never seen anyt [... read more]hing on mishaps which if I would have I could have better prepared myself by asking more questions, and having back up plans in place. So first off, our connector flight was cancelled due to weather so we scrambled to get to Toronto from Windsor to catch the main flight, then when we got there they told us that our whole trip was no longer in the system!! Ugh so we had to be re ticketed and called the hotel to make sure they still had us on the books, all worked out but very stressfully, then when we got to the hotel we had a beautiful room with a great view but it only had one bed, which I booked two beds so I brought this to the attention of the folks at the front desk, they moved us the next day and all seemed well, except the view wasn’t that great we were now looking at the resort next to ours, and it was actually the break area and loading dock of the resort next to ours, so I wasn’t happy but thought well no big deal, then the first night the noise of the workers on break and the trucks coming and going, idling , and beeping when backing up kept me up for hours, I mentioned this to the front desk and they were willing to move us again but it just seemed to be too much to go through again, they ended up compensating us with a bottle of rum and a couple of travels mugs (better than a kick in the pants) so we just decided to deal with the noise, and make the most of it. To sum it all up we enjoyed every minute of the vacation, regardless of the mishaps, next time I will confirm prior to going that we are getting what we ordered. Life is too short to let the little things wreck the big picture 😁 Hope this review is helpful

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana: Amazing resort

Have been going to the DR for over thirty years and this was the best place we have ever been at. The food was delicious and service by the staff fantastic. The view from our room was fantastic. The bus ride to and from the resort was only ten minutes , the shortest we have experienced to date. No wristbands required and could walk in to any restaurant with out any reservations.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Great family resort

Very family friendly. Beach was fantastic. Jr suite very close to everything, beach, pool, buffet, main building. Fun in the casino where only free wifi available. Food was good, nice variety. Would go back again!

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Amazing Resort, Room

Grounds were immaculate. Rooms leave much to be desired (lack shelving and room for storage of different items). Hot water was lacking as we never knew when it was going to be on. Power interruptions and no water on some days. Washroom shower area is lacking in any safety features. Towels, in washroom area were not sufficiently supplied. ie hand towels, face cloths. Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: great resort

staff was friendly,helpful and willing to get what we asked for. bars were well stock, no lines waiting and plenty to drink. plenty of chairs on the beach and the pools. rooms were big, bar fridge was full. food was good at the buffet , specialty dinning was very good

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great location

The best about this place are the workers at the pool, bars, restaurants and buffet. They are all hard workers and always have a smile on their faces. Both pools are very enjoyable and the beach is so so.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Excellent resort

I do recommend Now Onyz everything was excellent the food the service the employees are always there to offer a drink. I would go back. The pools were clean night entertainment was very good. Lots of activity if you want to participate.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: The place to relax

Nice moderate size hotel located on a great sandy beach with lots of palms.beautufl pools and great food.wonderful coffee shop.nightly entertainment.great service.premium alcohol at lobby.staff available to answer questions and always smiling.lots if places to sit drink and chat about

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: We liked this resort so much, we returned for the second time.

As stated, this was a return trip, having gone to the Aquamarine in 2019. The only difference was the carrier. A special shoutout to Hector in reception who handled our request for a room change closer to the lobby and buffet so that my wife did not have to walk far on her bad knees. Our room was great, the bed was comfortable. Great food at the buffets. Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Best resort in Punta Cana

Loved this place. We had a swim up room and were impressed with all aspects of this beautiful resort. To put it simply, this is now only resort I would go to in Punta Cana. Modern and clean. Great food. Great service.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Beautiful and amazing resort

Stunning resort, beautiful, well maintained grounds, amazing food, fabulous Mike's coffee! All employees were very helpful, with any questions or needs! Great beach area! There were ppl on the beach selling goods, but found them to be respectful and not pushy. The only negative was that our room had a hint of musty odor.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful resort, well maintained.

This resort could easily move up to a 5 star rating with just a couple of improvements. In the opinion of everyone in our group, there is a problem with smoking. There are too many areas for inconsiderate smokers to do their harm. The smoking is allowed in the lobby, on the beach, all around the pool, and other areas as well. It looks to me like the resort is trying to improve, but they still have a long way to go. Smokers light up around babies, toddlers, children, and just about anywhere th [... read more]ey want. Their cigarette butts are thrown all over the resort, and look very unsightly...a real problem esp.aroung the pool area. There should be non-smoking throughout the resort, with just a few smoking sections allowed. The only other complaint was: too many mosquitos on the resort. We all felt there should have been more spraying to help control the mosquito problem. We had mosquitos in our room every night, (we think the cleaning staff open up the patio doors every day while they clean)...and had to try and kill the mosquitos every night before going to sleep, - we didn't always succeed in getting them all. We came away with horrible, multiple mosquito bites.

Ocean El Faro: Mixed reactions

Resort very nice, rooms great with good size, food tasty, pools fantastic with separate pools for kids and adult only section with great pools. However, the beach is poor with rocks on the land side and some in the water as well. Entertainment was lousy. Lounge area in particular music was poor. In pool areas, music blaring throughout the day ... Too loud. The front reception area and lounge was wonderful with lots of space and comfortable chairs throughout. Staff great and always polite.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Beautiful Pool and Beach

The Majestic Colonial is a lovely resort. Our room was very large, comfortable and clean. We had two massive balconies - one overlooking the beautiful pool and one more private one with a jacuzzi tub. The pool was lovely and the beach was too. Very clean and very relaxing. Had no trouble getting beach chairs at the pool or at the beach. The food was ok. Liked the option of having a fresh omelet at breakfast and freshly cooked chicken or beef for lunch. The Teppanyaki restaurant was excellent. We [... read more] did not care for the seafood restaurant. The other restaurants were ok. Staff were excellent - friendly, helpful and always seemed to be so happy and in good cheer.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Loved this resort!

The resort and grounds were beautiful. We upgraded to a Privileged room - it was well worth it! The room was impressive and spacious with comfortable beds and a modern bathroom. The balcony had a hammock and great view - a nice place to retreat to when it rained. The dining was fantastic - we enjoyed all of the restaurants, though the buffet was so good it wasn't even necessary to go to the à la carte restaurants. The coffee house was a real treat - it was tucked away near the shops (we waited [... read more] too long to find it). The resort staff were very nice. Unfortunately the vendors were on site certain days during the week - and we found them aggressive. The birds at the resort were delightful - some were real characters and there were quite a few ducklings. We really enjoyed our encounters with them. The beach was beautiful to walk on - instead of seeing only other resorts - we saw palm trees and a more natural setting. There was some seaweed - which was not bothersome to us, and was cleared off the beach regularly. It was possible to snorkel right off the resort beach because there were coral reefs there. The animation team was lots of fun. The evening shows were entertaining. We did one excursion to Catalina Island - it included great snorkeling, was all-inclusive on the island, and had a beautiful sandy beach. I would definitely return to this resort.

Secrets Cap Cana: Beautiful resort - excellent service!

This resort was fantastic. Best service I’ve ever had. From the personal concierge, to the towel helpers, and wait staff. Everyone had a smiling face. The food was pretty good too - especially the breakfast buffet and the French restaurant. I wish there was more variety of entertainment in the evening. The biggest pain point was really not being able to make reservations for dinner. Every night we waited over an hour to be seated. And, there is only the lobby bar open to pass the time - which  [... read more]meant it was always packed. Even with the dinner wait times, this place was excellent and I’d recommend it to anyone!

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Nice resort overall

We loved the layout of the resort, with four separate pools and a nice beachfront location. Not too much to do independently - we didn't see the free water toys, and the sea here isn't really conducive to kayaks or SUP anyway. We were Premium and a little disappointed that 'premium'drinks were available at one bar only, and even then, only if specifically requested. Room was very nice but no 'pillow menu'was ever offered. Grand Memories Punta Cana: Staff is not good especially bartenders

All around the resort is OK it’s clean the rooms were clean the area is clean the food was good but grand memories I was very disappointed with.When we first got there and went to the bar the bartender was unprofessional rude did not know how to make a drink did not care about our concerns and would not listen. Our room did not have any water I called three times nobody came to Give us any until I got an email from a random lady asking how our stay was Again I enjoyed the food the hotel was c [... read more]lean but the staff was not very good and did not care about our concerns.This may be random but this is just what happen with us.Also one big thing is all the bars and places close down at 10 PM at grand memories so we could not get a drink anywhere after 10 PM

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana: Loved It.

The hotel was everything I expected from a 5star rated hotel. Room, hotel landscaping, beach, food and staff were excellent. The beach has the white sand and palm trees that we like and the water was warm and safe even for non swimmers. The food throughout the hotel was great and we especially liked the salmon and tuna meals at the Waves restaurant. Will certainly return.
