Riu Vallarta: Incredible Resort

We loved our holiday in Puerto Vallarta . the Riu Vallarta is a beautiful resort with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The food and entertainment was excellent. If we had one complaint it would be that the mattresses were too hard and the pillows too small and lacking support. The facilities were very well maintained and impeccably clean. We will definitely return again and will also visit other Riu destinations. Thank You.

Riu Guanacaste: All Staff very friendly

The grounds at this hotel were beautiful and very well kept and clean. The food was good and plentiful. Although it is a very large hotel, there was plenty of room near the pools. I would not return simply because the area was too big for me and I cannot walk well because of bad knees.

Riu Guanacaste: Great resort!

Great weather, good food nice resort :) can't really complain about anything at the Rui. Huge pool, good beach (need water shoes) not white sand but really, does that matter? Service was good not amazing but nothing to really complain about again.

Riu Playa Blanca: Rui Playa Blanca

hotel rooms we great. Sunwing reps at the hotel were very helpful. breakfast buffet was good, not enough fresh fruits. majority of dinner selection average but you could find enough to eat. Swim up bar pool - do not use. people go into it at 9. am. and do not leave until late afternoon. Yuk. entertainment was so so. not enough activities during the day. A NON SMOKING RESORT. that was not advertised. smokers were made to feel like criminals with no where to go except the public beach area and do [... read more]wn the lobby driveway. Beach area was good, plenty of chairs. swimming warning re the jelly fish and stingrays. rated as a 5 star would say 3.5. would not return but enjoyed the Panama canal tour.

Riu Reggae: 4 1/2 star hotel with beautiful beach

Stayed at Riu Reggae Jan.31-Feb.7. We've stayed at more than 10 all-inclusives in Jamaica, Mayan Riviera, Punta Cana, Bahamas. We always book 5 star rated resorts. The hotel is one of the smallest ones we've stayed at so everything was within minutes of your room which was really convenient. The resort is brand new and everything is super clean. Both infinity pools are right on the sand so your pool area is not separated from the beach/ocean. The D.J starts at the pool at 10:00am-6:00pm and th [... read more]e games,music,and dancing are non-stop all day;tons of fun. The Entertainment staff at the pool are funny, friendly, and do everything to make your vac, enjoyable. The beach is beautiful; the water was turquoise and warm but it was very cloudy so you couldn't snorkel. Food is great (had lobster 3 times) but the seating in the restaurants is awful; the tables are so close to each other your almost touching elbows with people on either side of you (no privacy) Didn't like having no reservations for dinner; had to line up at 6:00 for 6:30 dinner.There are only 3 a-la-carte restaurants because Bamboo (chinese food) is buffet. Rooms are very basic and small with no toiletries, no room service and no bathtub/jacuzzi; no idea how Reggae got a 5 star rating.Housekeeping was great; room was immaculate. Each bar was upscale with drink menus; bartenders all pleasant and happy to make you any martini or specialty cocktail. No cafe but cappuccino and lattes were avail at any bar or the main buffet. We stayed at Luxury Grand Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Jamaica last year and it was a true 5 star and we preferred it over Reggae. Great loc only 5 minutes from the airport. Shows at night were good. We had a great vacation and would return if the price was right. Book a courtyard room over a garden room. Weather everyday was sunny and in the high 80's.

Riu Montego Bay: Very nice resort

Rooms and grounds were kept very clean. The staff was excellent ,beach was nice, 16 foot catamarans were available to take out at no charge a long with peddle boats. Scuba lessons were also available

Riu Merengue: Riu Merengue

Its a nice resort to relax at. People are nice. Experiences vary. Overall, it was good sun, food and drinks. The week I spent there was good. I would go back, however, I would give other resorts the same opportunity.

Riu Palace Antillas: Wonderful Time!

Very nice adult only hotel..... all staff were extremely pleasant and polite............ in particular, Paola, the beach towel lady! Very friendly and made you feel welcomed! Lovely view from our balcony in a Junior Suite, Oceanview...... Meals were exceptional, at buffet and a la carte restaurants.... particularly at Krystal. We had exceptional service there! Would definitely return.......... Safe area, walk to all casinos, beautiful grounds, and lively street with restaurants and shops.

Riu Republica: A great resort

Has we been traveling the whole day and very tired we were well greeted at he resort with a nice fruity drink. As we arrived to our room I was disappointed to see two small beds and no view. So we went to the front desk to request a better room and was amazed that they accommodated us with a better room and everybody was happy. Restaurant were great no reservation needed that was great. Riu Merengue: Great value for the price

Stayed here January 31st-February 7th, 2017 and it was our first trip to Puerto Plata. Hotel and grounds were very nice. Beach itself was OK, but there was lots of seaweed in the water and water shoes were a must. My only real complaint was "no coffee pot in the room".

Riu Palace Antillas: Beautiful surroundings and a big plus that it was adults only

The staff were courteous and friendly at all times. My husband lost his wallet and it was turned it to the front desk with all his ID and our vacation cash. A waiter found it in the buffet restaurant and took it to the front desk. We will definitely be going back!!!!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Average Resort

The hotel is a little run down and could use a good overhaul. The grounds are immaculate. The food is very repetitive even for a one week stay and we were there two weeks. The beach is large and you never feel cramped. Plenty of loungers available although it's time to replace several of them that are damaged. No need to get up at at dawn to reserve a lounger. There are very few places to escape from the smokers and when you find a rare no smoking area there will be someone smoking nearby and st [... read more]aff just ignor it unless you point it out to them. That being said the best part of this whole resort are the staff. The staff from all departments seem to go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The frozen so called fruitie drinks at the bar are of poor quality compared to what I have come to expect from RIU hotels over the many years I have stayed at RIU hotels.

Riu Reggae: Dream Vacation

We had an amazing time at the Riu Reggae!! Staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. The resort was clean and well organized. Food was delicious and we loved that you didn't have to make reservations for the restaurants. Evening shows were top notch. Thank you Riu Reggae for making our vacation amazing!!

Riu Flamingos: Spendid Resort, Confortable and relaxing.

The Resort was smaller than we thought it would be. The restaurants were kept very clean and the employees were very kind. The food was good and a lot of variety. The entertainment was ok, we always prefer the show at night that represents the Mexican dances.

Riu Emerald Bay: VERY , VERY GOOD .

Riu Reggae: not a 5 star for sure

POSITIVES: hotel was very clean and nice that it was brand new can't say enough about how great the staff were pool was nice beach was pretty nice size of resort was perfect rooms were a nice size and stocked well close to the airport jerk chicken hut was delish! WHY WE WONT RETURN: hotel view was a barb wire fence-ridiculous for the price paid! very crowded (although always enough chairs for everyone) almost tripping over each other music was super loud - [... read more]and we like a good party but was hard to hear each other talk in the pool and the second pool had different music going at the same time , just as loud the way they seat the restaurants is ridiculous...reservations would help alleviate the frustration with lining up at 6:30 and then NOT getting in so we ended up at the buffet 4 of the nights which again for the price of the trip was not acceptable house wine was terrible and the bottled red wine that we purchased was chilled we have travelled many times and don't mind paying decent money but expected more from this resort-definitely not a 5 star , maybe a 3.5 star in our opinion

Riu Tequila: Will go back to Rui Tequila

Loved the resort, the beach, the pools and the atmosphere. The staff was welcoming and helpful. It was nice to be able to walk to the town from the resort and feel safe to do some shopping. The food selection was wonderful and everything was very tasty - really good food.

Riu Ocho Rios: Fun was had by all!

Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Room was spacious and comfortable. Food was excellent be sure to try the Mamee bay steakhouse, the 8 oz tenderloin melts in your mouth. They are very thick so if you order med rare it is very rare. Gift shop staff were a little harsh monitoring your every move. Bought a lighter that didn't work after I left the store so I went to return it and was told I only get one return? Tried the new one and told her it works so it won't be coming back. Pretty o [... read more]bvious reason for return but I was treated like I was trying to put something over on them?!? That's the only complaint I have about our stay. Riu posts that there is no need to tip but after finding out their wages for 60 hrs work i felt it important to help them out by tipping so bring some one dollar bills. All in all a great vacation!

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Amazing Reaort

Hotel was fantastic as it just had a makeover so all the furniture and rooms were spectacular....hope guests take care of it like their own. Staff were all friendly and outgoing to please. Food was great and no reservations required which is a bonus whole on vacation.

Riu Reggae: luv luv luv Riu Reggae

Attended Feb 3rd to 10th Every staff member was friendly, talkative and goal oriented so each visitor was happy and had a great time. All amenities in close proximity from ocean beach, pool, restaurants, entertainment . Some really great entertainment staff with different activities daily, loved them. Rooms cleaned daily, very functional staff always cleaning constantly. Not sure what happened there .may have been taken in error as tablet was next to it and was left behind??.. I would go again for sure 5 star to me..thanks Riu Reggae family miss you already
