Barcelo Solymar: Very nice resort

Very courteous staff, and over all the resort was kept very clean. We liked that we could use the facilities at Arenas Blancas and often went there for dinner for a change. We really enjoyed the beautiful beach, but found the evening entertainment lacking.

Barcelo Solymar: Barcelo Solymar Resort

Excellent resort, ideally located 5 minutes walk from town, and right on the beautiful beach. The variety and quality of the food was excellent, and the service from most staff was great! The bungalow rooms were much superior to the hotel ones. The only problem was the extremely loud and unclear sound system (making it louder does not help people to hear, it just makes it more unpleasant!)

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Relaxing Holiday

Beautiful grounds, food is delicious, great selection of good eats. Great place to stay for couples looking to enjoy a relaxing vacation but at the same time want to be able to enjoy the fun activities the resort has to offer or could walk 10 minutes (at the most) to take advantage of the activities at the Bavaro Palace.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Enjoyable,friendly, we'll keep resort

We had a room just off the pool area and stage. This was very convinent. The stage shows a little loud if you wanted to go to bed,But they did shut down at 11:00 so tolerable. Grounds we'll keep and attractive. A big beach area and the shade and trees was great! The buffet itself seemed a little crowded but always enough to eat. Staff in buffet and a la carte friendly and helpful, working hard. Overall, would return if the price is right.

Barcelo Solymar: Great BEACH RESORT

The accommodations are adequate & the food is typical of Cuban cuisine but I can always find something to eat. Plus I am not there to gain 5-10 lbs. I liked the resort and would recommend it for the great beach & beautiful swimming waters. Also, the entertainment at night was very good.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Again and again

First but not the last time, clean, well situated and great service. Not our first time in Riviera Maya but this hotel has everything. Really enjoyed our stay. Great snorkling right on the beach, plus close to Tulum and the Mayan piramids, just loved it. As a professional photographer did not have to go far for excelent view and pictorial quality beach suroundings.

Occidental Caribe: Wonderful escape to Barcelo Punta Cana

East trip from the airport, wonderful reception by the staff at registration, fantastic room with a great view, amazing grounds, great food and terrific service and people. Easy to be there - hard to come home. We absolutely loved our stay there.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Something for everyone

A very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Very family friendly though barely aware of the tykes. Great food and exceptionally great staff. We felt very much at home and well taken care of. A definite return destination.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: amazing resort

excellent hotel and surroundings....trip in the jungle and to maya was unforgettable, excellent food. we booked one trip in the jungle AMAZING , we will recommend to anyone young or adult.the beach was the best

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Beautiful Resort!!!

The resort was beautiful. The restaurants especially "Don Quiote" Restaurant was 5 star. We never went hungry as there was wonderful food at every corner. I wasnt there long enough to sample everything. The pizza at "Los Arcos" was just like Famosa so good. The family suite was perfect for me and my two teens. The drive to Mismaloya was definately beautiful. Taking the bus to the Malecon was right outside our resort and was under a dollar for two to ride the bus. The spa was fantastic. I would definately go back.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Beautiful resort!

My husband and I stayed at Barcelo Costa Cancun for 6 nights in June and we were overall very happy with their services. The room was very nice, but since it did not have a balcony, it was difficult to dry our bathing suits after each dip in the sea. You can, of course, upgrade to a room with a balcony (big, fancy one, with hammocks), but all we wanted was a place to dry wet clothes. The se [... read more]a water could have been cleaner of algae, but overall, it was perfectly nice. Since we booked all inclusive, we got to try a couple of the restaurants at the hotel. We loved Claraboya and Mexico Lindo, where the food was truly delicious, but were not really crazy about the Albatros. This last one is the only one that does not require reservations and appeared to be extremely popular with the other guests, but we found the food really bland and tasteless. When we asked why there are no bold flavours that one normally associates with the Mexican cuisine, our server replied that it was because most tourists shy away from spicy food, so the hotel food is made with such concerns in mind. I guess that explains it, so if you are not afraid of spice, you better avoid Albatros altogether. Speaking of restaurants, the reservation system seemed a little useless and unnecessary. In order to eat at one of the three restaurants at Barcelo Costa Cancun that require reservations, you had to make those reservations in the morning of the day in question. You missed that for whatever reason (in our case, we were always in a rush to leave on very early trips), you were left with the Albatros, even though the other restaurants were by no means full. In fact, they had only a few tables reserved. Finally, we were deeply impressed by the personnel working at Barcelo. From the very nice ladies at the reception, to the bartenders, the ladies cleaning our room, the porters and the waiters, each and every member of the staff has been incredibly attentive, personable and helpful towards us. These people are the ones that actually make Barcelo Costa Cancun function smoothly every day and that make people like us feel welcomed and taken care of. I hope that their employers appreciate their hard work as much as we did.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Beautiful Resort

The resort was beautiful, accomodations very nice and the food was delicious! However if I had known this location had a dolphin show I would not have gone here. Dolphins don't deserve to swim in a concrete tank! Watch The Cove on UTube, for more information on what your are paying for! Otherwise a beautiful place and resort.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: I have been there 5 years in a ROW-fabulous

This place is fantastic they look after you, respond to your requests, its safe and beautiful - you will absolutely love it that's why me and my girlfriend have been 5 years in a row!!! Not much else to say just go you will have the time of your life.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS...PLEASE READ!!!!!

Please take the time to read this if you want to stay at an amazing resort! I'm long winded...but I'm passionate about good service, food, and value! My wife's co-worker and her husband stayed at Barcello Maya Colonial, and it was reccomended we stay there. Having never been to Mexico before...we took their word it would be safe, fun, and affordable. They raved about this place. I cannot say enough good things about Barcello Maya!!!!! The staff were amazing...always attentive...and always welcoming...right down to the moment we left...they did not stop being friendly!!!! I had read some reviews about bartenders not paying attention to you...but we found that only once...and that was just my wife and I being, "typical tourists"...so I get that. Once we started to feel the flow of the people...this never happened again. Rookie mistake on our part. The beach was out of a movie...white sand...no sandels needed...soft on your feet...even in the ocean! Fish swimming around you. There are a lot of free things to keep you and the kids busy...we have a 13 year old boy...and he was never bored once! I reccomend the full day execration to Tulum...where you do have a day at Tulum...and the other half snorkling over the second largest reef in the world with Sea turtles so close you could touch them (but don't)...and you swim right over the reef...AMAZING!!! Be prepared to swim at Tulum ruins....you only get 30 min free time after the tour in tulum...but worth it! Wear shoes to the Tulum tour...but bring sandals for the snorkelling. I liked this excertion because it was fast moving...never bored...you leave by 8...home by 4...lots to see...they feed you at an amazing restaurant...a lot of value...and youre out in the sun all day which is nice....but by water so you can get wet! We were told it was safe to take a Celetivo 'City bus" into Playa del Carmen. Being from Canada...and hearing the news...I was nervous about my familes safety. In the end...we had a great time...always felt safe...and will be making another trip via the bus this year when we return this Oct for our second trip back to Barcello!!!! The food was out of this world...lots of choices...a la carte's were high end...bring some nice clothes...no shorts allowed there. I wore jeans...some people chose to dress sharper...just no shorts.

Barcelo Solymar: Trip of a lifetime

The pool setting was beautiful, having the beach at our door step was perfect. The food was very tasty, The people that work in the resort were wonderful and just so friendly! Trip central was perfect!

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Barcelo hotel

Clean resort. Restaurants was just average, buffet was much better. Bar not as friendly as expected . Bar not all drink were included. Rooms were clean and good size. Pools were clean and always some places available. Beach was big and great.

Occidental Tucancun: friendly resort

Hotel was clean. Staff were friendly and the service was quick. Drinks were excellent! Food was good and the restaurants were never overly busy. really close to a shopping center. What else can you ask for?

Barcelo Solymar: Great Resort with 2 in 1 Experience

We booked our 5 day stay at the Barcelo Solymar Arenas Blancas and were really pleaesd with the entire experience. There are 2 sides to the resort therefore you can use all amenities in both including the pools, gym, and restaurants. the food selection was great with several restaurant choices and the staff was also great. We booked an excursion through the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beach access was also amazing. There are plenty of lounge chairs and activities going on. Sunscape Puerto Plata: great value convienient location

beach is great rooms were good value we stayed in building 12 close to the beach and pool ,alacartes were good if not the buffet always had something good on the menue all the staff were allways there to help out and very freindly would definetly return to this property.

Occidental Caribe: Amazing Resort

Everything was great. Check-in was amazing. I've been to a lot of resort and normally you are in line for quite a while to get your room key. This resort, we had our keys and room within minutes. Room was great, food was amazing, service (waiters, bartenders, maids) all very polite and friendly. No complaints at all. As a matter of fact we are talking about going back in two years with the whole family. Grounds were nice, clean. The only complaint - they didn't replenish the fridge everyday with [... read more] beer. My husband liked to have a beer in the room while we were getting ready for supper.
