Melia Buenavista: Service 5, Food 1

We just got back from a week at the Melia Buenavista. The staff were amazing! Anderson Coll, Navy, and the entire entertainment team really made our stay special. The yoga and dance classes were outstanding! Our butlers, Rey and Elina were excellent. The three beaches are truly spectacular. Unfortunately, our food was quite poor. My husband and I both had stomach issues and were each bedridden for a day. There were many bugs and I had to apply bug spray as often as I applied sunscreen. I came [... read more] home with many itchy swollen bug bites. Also, the resort is older and our room had several issues that required fixing. Our butlers were great at getting this done but it meant we didn't have access to our room at times.

Melia Costa Rey: Great experience overall

Pros: 1. Food: I managed my expectations but was impressed with the variety of dishes that were offered. I enjoyed the local foods such as fish, guava, papaya, smoothies with local fruits. For dessert: I loved the white jello-like squares which paired up amazlingly with ice-cream. 2. Pools: very clean and large pools 3. Beach: lovely, white beaches; the water was warm and inviting. Perfect temperature 4. Boat house: because it was windy everyday, we were not able to enjoy the hobbie cat (wh [... read more]ich we really wanted to) except ....for the last day of our stay. The boat house staff were very understanding and accomodated us to enjoy the hobbie cat rides before we packed up to check out. Way to go! 5. Entertainment: good quality and variety of shows both during the day and in the evening. 6. Room: very spacious and clean. Cons: 1. Water supply: for 1st 3 days: the water was not warm enough for a nice shower. 2. Water supply: on the 4 day: there was no water supply between 1pm to 10pm... that was not a pleasant experience. 3. Room: the hair dryer can't run continuously on MAX setting; in spite of multiple requests to review this, nothing was done AND there was no feedback from the hotel staff. Overall, we had a very nice stay but would likely try another hotel when we go back to Cuba just because of the 'water cut' experience.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Amazing resort

I went to Playa Paraiso inCayo Coco for one week in May .2023 I liked it so much that I returned for 2 weeks in October. The beach is white sand with plenty of lounger.I enjoyed the selection of cappuccino in the lobby bar. The food in the buffet is okay end the 2 grills cook great pork chicken and fish. Langusta lobster was served twice but you have to get early to get it beforehand running out. I definitely will be going back.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Nice resort

Good location . maintenance okay in Cuban standard. Nice people. Good service. I am vegetarian and they try to accommodate my needs. Tennis court and Equipment could be better maintain. I would go back again

Blau Varadero: Amazing Resort

Everything at the Blau is top notch, the grounds are very clean, the washrooms are kept up to date with toilet paper. Some toilets do not have seats. Entertainment is wonderful and often. Dining rooms are very nice. The food definitely needs improving. There isn't enough choice for vegetarians.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Exccllent

Over all good.nice beech, The only problem is that they sprinkle pork meat on almost on every food that becomes a problem for vegetarians people like me. Hindus are vegetarians .Jews , Muslims and some Christians don't eat pork

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Great time.!!

We had a great time as usual. This was our 9th visit to the Tainos. We noticed a few shortages but nothing that effected our vacation. There was plenty of food and drinks and the staff were amazing as usual. Looking forward to our next visit.

Melia Las Americas: Amazing

Great hotel The staff was great the facility are fantastic beach is second to none We travel to Cuba in March and November every and golf is very enjoyable We always recommend this hotel to all of our friends and lol forward to our next trip. On March 16 2024

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: The Apathy Resort

Loved the beach, ocean, food, resort, servers, drinks, and maids. It was a wonderful experience except for the cockroaches in our rooms! There were 15 cockroaches in our first room and we were worried they’d get in our luggage, so we asked for another room. We thought we’d get at least another room like the one we had, sans bugs, but we were given a room with burnt out lights, missing lamps, broken safe, fuzzy tv, and more cockroaches! You’d think they would give us a new room that was perfect in order to show their concern for us having to shake all our belongings out to make sure there aren’t any bugs in them. Pack all our stuff. Move all our stuff. When we should have been enjoying the resort. The apathy and nonchalance was gross! Why didn’t we ask for a third room? Because we wanted to enjoy the beach and we’re sick of wasting time!

Club Tropical: Older Resort coming backto life

Beach is excellent, Food and staff were very good. Had nice drinks . Double decker Bus right out front. You can travel all over Varadero On/Off for $5 A couple of problems, take your own sheets single or double will work . Mainly Canadians from Quebec when we were there. They are putting New Air conditioners in. Very Nice and Quiet. Mattresses OK. Only Buffet Restaurant there but Staff very Nice. I don't recommend taking kids there because of the sex trade going on. It is tough in Cuba. They could pay travelers to bring down plumbing fixtures. This could be arranged through Sunwing. I was a home builder for 40 years. You never renovate a bathroom around 60 year old faucets. Just reduce our trip cost by the price of a certain specified faucet. Great marketing for say Canadian Tire, Home Hardware. Rona, Canadian Companies. The one main plus about this resort, they are really trying.. Another problem. NO ELEVATOR. I am older with a bad knee. We had to be moved from 6 flights of stairs to 2 . I could not have managed at our first room but they moved us down after 1 1/2 days. If you are older you must be on the lowest floor which is up two flights of stairs.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Good Resort

The resort is good maintenance, very calm beach, room is OK , food is well cooked that I have no problem even I have very sensitive stomach. Staffs are very nice to help in need. The price for 7 days all inclusive is very resealable.

Melia Internacional: Melia international

This hotel is very modern. The lobby is lovely with all its newness. The rooms are very big, the washroom a good size. The pool is lovely, not crowded. The meals in the buffet were delicious, however the meals in the smaller buffet were not as good. The specialty restaurants were delicious. We tried Texmex, Japanese and Italian. All very good. Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great Vacation

From October 26 to November 2 2023, 4 of us stayed in Iberostar Selection resort in Varadero. Overall, our stay was very pleasant. The beach at this place is one of the best we’ve seen in Cuba. Kilometres of white sand to the both sides of the resort, plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. No need to “book” your chairs ahead - there’s always spaces available! Very clean and well maintained, there’s also a security guard on duty daily. The ocean is very clean and quite shallow, you need [... read more] to walk a bit before you go into the deep. Very safe if you stay with children. The resort is also very clean and well maintained. We stayed in a junior suite and it was spacious, with an extra sitting area with a sofa and a coffee table. This suite got cleaned twice a day. There were toiletries in the shower, towels, a hair dryer, a bidet and a bath tub. The only thing missing - no Kleenex tissues, but it may be a supply chain glitch. Our friend stayed in the regular room, which was only a bit smaller, also had a sitting area with a love seat and a coffee table, same bathroom/shower amenities. This room got cleaned once a day. There is a great pool with a bar - lots of people there daily. Drinks - plenty of them everywhere! Great coffee at reptile area, also there’s a little coffee shop with pastries and sandwiches open almost around the clock, so very convenient for the night time munchies. The food was pretty good, the buffet had a daily variety of veggies, fruit, pasta, rice and fish and meats. We had daily omelettes at breakfast, with yogurts and smoothies, and juices. The resort has 3 restaurants (Japanese, International gourmet and Mediterranean) for booking and we were pleasantly surprised, in fact we liked all of them, this is first time ever in Cuba😀 we especially liked Mediterranean one, the food was delicious and presentation - top notch! There was nightly entertainment, including specially for kids - the little ones seem to enjoy it a lot. The adult one was also very nice. The resort staff was courteous and friendly, which we think is a Cuban trademark, true to all Cuban resorts we’ve visited. We have really enjoyed our stay and will recommend this resort to our friends and family, thanks Iberostar Selection, gracias!

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Fantastic relaxing place

Staff are excellent amenities are great always lots to eat some shortages but there is still an excellent variety of food great alacarte restaurants bartenders are great especially the pool bar. Rooms are very spacious and well appointed

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Not so great resort

overall, the resort was ok. Missing toilet seats in the majority of women's washroom and no soap. Buffet at breakfast was terrible. no bagels, muffins, toats, jams and juices taste nothing. A la carte restaurant: same menu throughout , fish, chicken, porc with litlle vegetables and rice. Some of the nights, they didn't have any wine. beaches were awesome and temperature was amazing. air conditioning was working quite well and not noisy as some of the resorts. i felt safe dur [... read more]ing my stay. some of the staff didn't care of people.

Memories Jibacoa: Great

Second visit at this location. Somethings have changed, but that’s expected due to CoViD restrictions on travel and the lack of people visiting. All in all, still a fantastic place to visit. The people are of the upmost gracious, friendly, helpful and helpful. Food was good, no shortages. Beach great, rooms are cleaned daily, grounds are well manicured. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Splendid Resort

The resort was wonderful, quaint and easy to get around. The beach, rooms and grounds were very well kept. Tte people/staff were wonderful. I would recommend this resort. We went at low season and some of the restaurants were closed, but we could always find something to eat. There was an egg shortage throughout Cuba. So we had no eggs on day 3. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Clean and quiet

This was low season (early November) and we loved the serenity and the staff. We upgraded to the Alegance which gave us a quiet pool, separate restaurant and bar. Well worth the money. Rooms were clean, staff were helpful and friendly. Entertainment in the lobby at night was amazing. Our meals in the Alegance restaurant were great. The other restaurants were just ok but menus similar. Cuba is not known for cuisine but always fresh bread, cold beer and drinks and smiles all round!

Melia Cayo Coco: Great resort

Very well maintained and clean hotel . Rooms were dated but extremely clean and very comfortable. Shortages in hot water and morning and evening time were noticeable. Hotel Staff was extremely accommodating and was doing the best to resolve any issues. The grounds were very well maintained . The food was very good considering all the food shortages in Cuba which was just recovering after pandemic. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Beach

The resort was beautiful for the exception of no hot water, no water pressure and minimal air conditioning. Staff was friendly. Pool and grounds are clean. Food was 7 out of 10. Beach 10 out 10. Would I return? Yes indeed for the beach⛱️.
