Riu Santa Fe: Nice looking but poor execution

The resort as I said in the title was very nice looking but the quality was poor. The food was very disappointing, especially the steakhouse. Instead of being à la carte most were buffets which confused me because I'm pretty sure they said they were à la. If you want good food DO NOT GO HERE. The beach was beautiful, although the sand was a bit course closer to the resort which hurt my girlfriend's feet. Other than that the water was beautiful and the sites around and a far were gorgeous. The st [... read more]aff were friendly at times but not overly friendly as I experienced in Cancun. Our room was amazing although I heard a lot of people had to change rooms around us for various reasons including people we went on vacationing with. They said their room smelled and there were stains on their sheets, we had no such problem. The resort itself was nice looking and the entertainment was top notch. The Riu parties (the main attraction) were a good time and the staff were extremely quick with drinks. Facilities were pretty clean (especially near the pool bars those lady cleaners did amazing) and they had a lot of staff. It was close to the marina which was so beautiful (highly recommend, it's very safe, go whale watching if your there in December). To sum it all up I would recommend for a younger person if you get it cheap but for anyone that wants a higher end resort don't go here you will be disappointed, just go to the one beside it.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Azul Beach resort Cancun Mexico

The tap/shower water smelled like sewage, and my whole body and hair smelled foul after every wash and bath. Some of the guests kept their belongings on the Beach Gazebo overnight, and this way, they held it all the time. The hotel must have a rule to remove the stuff if left unattended for more than 30 minutes on the Gazebo. The staff was courteous except for a few. The food menu was rotated daily in the SPOON buffet, and the rest of the restaurant was ordered to cook. They run locality pres [... read more]entations and offer $150 vouchers, like collecting tickets from an in-game arcade to get souvenirs. That is how much the value of the Gift vouchers is. Overall, the experience was positive, but I recommend looking for other options if available.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Another Amazing trip!

This is my 3rd time at the resort. Fell in love with the resort and staff all over! We stayed in the Penthouse suite. Food was good, the only bad comment is that is has super hard to get reservations at the Alacartes because of resorts being full.

Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort and Spa: A very relaxing stay!

Upon arrival, check-in was fast and efficient. The lobby although small, was comfortable and modern-looking. Our room was a good size, with plenty of storage space, a beautifully appointed bathroom with a MASSIVE shower and very nice modern decor. The sliding door led to a modest sized patio directly in front of our swimout pool. The only complaint about the swimout pool is that it did not lead to the main pool bar - we had to climb over a 3 foot wall to access the bar, but there was very good p [... read more]oolside service provided by Vicky - she was terrific. The steps into the swimout are also odd; 2 subtle steps down from the deck followed by a HUGE drop into the pool, with no handrail. This wasn't an issue for us, but was an issue for some older adults staying a few doors down. The addition of a handrail down to the swimout in some of the suites would be a good idea. Inside the room, the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable and had a good selection of different pillows to suit any type of sleeper. Air conditioning was hit and miss - either FREEZING or hardly any air at all. Fortunately, the ceiling fan provided enough of a breeze and circulation to sleep very comfortably. I can't say that I had a bad sleep at all. The a la carte restaurants at Dreams were fairly good; Olio and Annato had a nice variety of menu choices, and all dishes were prepared quite well. Like a dummy, I ordered a steak one night and then realized, you don't order a steak in Mexico LOL. That aside, all meals were very good. Service by Guardencia (hope I spelled that correctly) at Olio in particular was superb! Staying in Preferred Club allowed us access to the restaurants and facilities at the neighboring Sunscape and Secrets resorts. The food at these locations was also very good, with the exception of the Sunscape breakfast, both al la carte and buffet. This was MUCH better at both Dreams and Secrets. The resort grounds were lovely, and the location was nothing short of spectacular, especially at dusk. Watching the sun set on Cozumel is worth the price of the vacation alone! At the main pool at Dreams, bar service was terrific. The liquor was close to top-shelf, and Gustavo and the crew are great! The pool entertainment crew, especially the wonderful Sara were fun. All in all, I would recommend Dreams Cozumel Cape to anyone looking for an inexpensive, good-value-for-the-money all inclusive resort. We are used to a slightly higher standard found on the mainland Riviera Maya, but for the money we spent we were NOT disappointed!

Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Great Resort!

Stayed for 1 week with family. Kids had a great time at splash pool. Very clean resort. Excellent food. Only negative was you had to wait in long line for dinner at restaurants. Will be going back next year.

Riu Flamingos: Very nice resort

Hotel is very clean and beautiful. The service is excellent. Plenty of food and it is taste. We had nice room and ocean view. Entertainment and shows are great. The only downside for people who wants to swim in the ocean is , sometime, appearance of crocodile in the area. We lost two days waiting permission from authorities to swim in the ocean.

Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos: Beautiful Views

Riu Palace Las Americas: Fantastic!

I loved everything! The place was amazing. Their goal was to make sure you were happy and well taken care of. The staff really worked hard to keep it clean day and night. There was so much selection of food and something for everyone. I tried all the restaurants and liked the Italian and the buffet the most. Beach and pools were great and easily accessible. Beach service like getting you an umbrella, finding you a spot and bringing you drinks made it relaxing. I went to one of the Riu Caribe parties and it was incredible. I've never been to one like this. Everyone there having such a good time! Riu hotels are incredible. Thank you so much. I'm home now and not the same. I wake up in the morning looking for the buffet table!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Not A Luxury Resort

Definitely not a five star, room was small and musty, bed was extremely hard. We asked for mattress topper 6 times and didn’t get one until our seventh night on our 10 day trip. Shows have been replaced with pay to watch shows, liquor is value brand and top shelf for privileged guests only. This was our 2nd time there, first time was great but seams they are worried more about costs than the quality of food, service and rooms. We won’t be back a 3rd time.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Unfortunate experience

Experienced cash and jewelry theft from my room. Only received mediocre lip service in regards to the "investigation". Quite disappointing as the resort was clean and beautiful and the food was great. Hoped for a better outcome.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful resort, some policies not so good

Beautiful resort, grounds were beautiful and well kept. We didn’t get an updated room but our friends got upgraded to one with a swim up pool, they were gorgeous. Buffets were good, the 2 a la Cartes we got were delicious. The staff and entertainment at all resorts were great. Highly recommend the silent disco! The beach at Akumal was enjoyable, although if you’re looking for sandy beaches, this isn’t the one to choose. Take note, although only an hour from Cancun airport, add in all the drop of [... read more]fs along the way, our commute one way was almost 3 hours! When we booked, we were under the assumption we were in Adults only but we weren’t; might have been our mistake, maybe we should have requested it the AO block? Our agent Candice (who was great!) requested a few things: honeymoon, king bed, close to beach and pools. When we checked in they gave us double beds so we asked for king. We ended up at the very back of the resort, furthest from everything. Not a huge deal, just not sure why we have requests if it’s not an option. I thought maybe we’d get a congratulations basket or a bottle or champagne or something for our honeymoon. We saw banners at other rooms celebrating birthdays, anniversaries etc. I guess it depends on who at the resort deals with your agent. Biggest disappointment was the a la Cartes. We found out a few days before we left that we had to book dinners 10 days in advance on their app. We were only able to get 2 online. When we arrived, we tried to book more and they were completely full. We were advised to show up and hope for no-shows. We did this twice at two different restaurants and although tables were empty, we were told we could get a table if we paid $480 pesos (or more) for wine. We denied that, our package should’ve included 7 dinners and we only got 2, why would we pay more? So that’s disappointing. We are lucky we found the Facebook group, if we didn’t, we would’ve arrived to all A la Cartes fully booked. So fyi, if you don’t book the dinners in advance you’ll be eating buffets every day which is not what we’re paying for. A little disappointing since this was our honeymoon. For a ‘Luxury’ resort, it wasn’t very luxury. We honestly would’ve received the same services, food, experiences paying significantly less a person at a different resort in Mexico. Overall, we had a great time and didn’t let the hiccups upset our vacation.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: The Barcelo Maya is perfect.

The place is massive, with that comes an endless number of possibilities for dining, activities and beaches, you know you are in the right place when divers come to your resort to dive the reef just off shore.

Krystal Grand Cancun: Loved our stay…

Travelled as a retired couple and stayed in an oceanfront Altitude suite for 14 days. We are very familiar with all inclusive resorts having stayed at many in the Caribbean, and especially in the Cancun area. Most important to us is a great beach and good service. This resort was excellent in both of these areas. The resort was different than others in the area we’ve stayed at in that probably 75% of the guests were Mexicans on shorter term vacations, some all inclusive, some not. This  [... read more]meant the food options, while somewhat limited, were fairly authentic Mexican style. We really appreciated that, They had decent house wine and made wonderful Mojitos. The gym was clean and had several cardio machines and a selection of free weights and machines.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Amazing Resort, Beautiful Vacation

Amazing resort, staff were so kind, food was good, overall resort (pools ,bars, beach) fantastic! You also have access to the other 3 or 4 resorts in the compound which was great! There is a maya mall, casino, activities even a Mexican market all within the resort which was amazing. Also did the caves and tulum ruins excursion that was phenomenal. I highly recommend this resort, I would revisit 110%.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Solid Mexican experience

Beach-Snorkeling in the bay was great. Beach was good although the entrance to the water is rocky but that is happening all down the coast with the erosion of the beaches. Food -was pretty good at the buffet, the bloved restaurant was very good (only available for privileged guests). Steak house was great. We didn't try the other a la cartes due to reviews. Nothing fancy but Im coming to mexico and expect the workmanship to be a little rough. Gym - decent with enough machines for the size of the resort. Water sports - not a lot to offer here. Some kayaks but you can't really go anywhere too interesting. You can explore the inside bay, which is fun enough for an hour.Beach volley ball and other games were great and well organized by the staff. You wont be bored if you want to participate in the arranged activities.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Average resort a little old

Grounds kept nice short of help though room kept nice wifi was terrible only get in two places not in your room.trying to book a reservation is almost impossible two couples went down but couldn’t book for more than two dumb

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Great resort - horrible beach water

The Ocean Coral and Turquesa is a very nicely laid out resort, with 4 pools (1 Adult only, 2 general pools and a children's pool) The El Beso (adult only) room was recently renovated, and well appointed, with a shower, bathtub and private toilet area. spacious room with a couch and desk area. Lots of plug-ins and USB connections for those electronics in our lives! Of the 6 restaurants, 3 required reservations (all done through the Ocean Coral app) and provide a great selection of choices. Ja [... read more]panese grill; Italian; Mexican; Brazilian skewers; Romantic Dining and a burger shop. The Villa Marina (Brazilian) was being renovated for most of our trip, but it opened in time for us to enjoy. The buffet offered numerous choices daily, with vegetarian, gluten free meals available. And their dessert section was delicious! The only complaint we and many others had, was the color of the ocean water at the beach. Not sure if this is an ocean current situation along that coastline, but the water was brown for 1/2KM from the shore. The amount of sargassum washing up daily was cleaned as best they could. Overall, a great 2 weeks (Nov 24 - Dec 8) relaxing at this resort, great options for day beds, pool chairs, and beach palapas/chairs, never an issue finding a place to sit. Walking the beach into Puerto Morelos takes approx. 1 hour, and lots to see along the way.

Grand Sunset Princess: Great As Usual

We were a group of five staying the week of November 26th through December 3rd. All in our 40's and 50's. We had swim out rooms again. The resort was very accommodating placing our rooms together and in the area we prefer, we had room 3006 again. Miso, we were in the Thai section, I really enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere. We also went to Mamma Mia twice because our first time was so great. The second time was just average. I guess the server makes all the difference and the first time we ate at Mamma Mia we were served by Mariano, he was fabulous and just made the evening so great for us, he was warm, friendly, fast and efficient, offered to take a photo of our group for us. We only went to one of the evening shows while we were there, it was to see the Horror Show. I really enjoyed it and the lead singer they had, her voice was amazing, when she sang the Phantom of the Opera, it gave me chills. We would have loved to see the Fire and Ice show but missed it because of an a la carte reservation. C'est la vie, there is always a next time. The grounds were lovely and well tended. We loved seeing the animals everywhere, iguanas, coati, deer, monkeys, birds, just fabulous. The beach was also in better shape than it had been the year before. Meaning there was a lot more beach area, I think the year before storms had washed away so much of the sand but it's back to normal now. I did end up catching a cold again on vacation, word of caution, always bring cold medication with you. If you have to buy it at the hotel store, after conversion, my bottle of cough syrup cost me $27 Canadian. We found the price of everything very high, excursions we thought were so high we opted to just stay at the resort. Also, the airport, holy cow, so expensive, makes the food on the Sunwing flight seem like a bargain. At the Cancun airport we bought two ready-made, wrapped sandwiches, just turkey, cheese and lettuce. Just a regular sized sandhich you'd find at any gas station, end up costing us $41.90 CDN. One issue we encountered at the resort, people feed the wildlife and then they mooch and raid your stuff looking for food. When you have a swim up room, you come out of your room via the patio door, there is no way to secure the patio door when you leave your room that way. Which isn't a theft problem because you're usually in the pool right in front of your room so you can keep an eye on things. One day my boyfriend and I had waded over to the swimup bar to get a drink. My sister was still sitting on her patio and heard our patio door open. She assumed it was the maid making up our room, then she saw a coati go running past with a baggie of granola bars. She snapped a few photos and then took the baggie back from him. He ended up getting one granola bar. They are like raccoons and very good at opening the doors. I guess the maid had been making up our room and when she saw the thing in our room she chased it out and then closed and locked the patio door. So we were locked out of our room and had to call the front desk to let us back in. So my word of advice is to not leave any unsecured food items in your room and to always keep your room card on you. Over the week others were also locked out for the same reason. One woman said her husband had been napping during the day, when she entered her room her husband was sleeping and the coati was sleeping at the foot of the bed. So be vigilant to ensure they don't nab anything from you. Overall we had a lovely week off. The resort is fairly large but easy to walk. We were getting about 11,000 steps in per day. Every inch of the place is beautiful. We'll be back for sure. It was our third time there. It's a good value for what you get.

Las Brisas Huatulco: 7th time at Las Brisas, Huatulco

we love coming to Las Brisas Huatulco. The rooms are comfortable, love the views. We keep coming back for the guaranteed good weather, excellent swimming beaches, and tennis/pickleball. The food is very good, lots of choice and never had any issues with water. This is an excellent hotel.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Vacation in paradise

Enjoyed our stay at this resort thoroughly, this was our second time staying at Sian Ka'an this year. The staff make you feel like family and truly go the extra mile. Many recalled us personally from our trip earlier this year! The foam parties were very entertaining, loved seeing everyone get involved. The a-la carte restaurants were lovely, and had a wide range of options. I only wish there were more evenings to try even more restaurants.
