Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Beautiful

The hotel is beautiful. These are very large resorts, so be prepared to walk alot. They do provide transportation to and from any where you want to go around the resort. Once you find out where the pick up locations are located. For the price this hotel is ok. Basic buffet and rooms. Pool areas are beautiful. Only access to 1 other hotel-Del Mar. The staff are amazing, very helpful. Overall Happy with experience.

We stayed here in January 2020, the resort grounds were kept clean and beautiful. the staff were all friendly and very helpful, if needed - the rooms were very clean and walkways were always cleaned every morning The main buffet was amazing - always great food and lots of choices Service in all restaurants and buffet were quick and friendly The beach buffet was excellent also - chicken wings were amazing and never had a problem getting them. Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Pleasant relaxing resort

The hotel was very good--not new but met all our needs. Air conditioning good. There was alit of moisture in the air that left clothes feeling damp. Entertainment every night that met each age groups needs. Restaurants very good! They were able to accommodate my daughters gluten allergy. Staff pleasant and helpful. Lots oof free water sports. Beach area mod size. Enclosed in with partial barriers to control waves. I would have preferred a larger open beach.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Bring your water shoes/socks and snorkel

Everything about this hotel was excellent, plenty of activitys to keep you busy, rooms were very modern and well kept, lots of bars with many drink options, staff was very nice, rock and coral in the water at the beach so bring water socks but the snorkeling right off the beach is incredible

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Decent Vacation

The hotel was very nice. Rooms were clean and updated, we stayed at The Seaside Suites section. Food was decent, staff were friendly and went above and beyond to try and make our stay special. I was really impressed with the staff. My one major criticism is the evenings, there is no real comfortable lounge/ common area where you can enjoy a drink or two and entertainment in the evening hours after dinner. We found ourselves going to bed early every night as there was no where really to hang out  [... read more]and relax. They did have shows certain nights, but they were always in different places and accompanied by wooden chairs, often not enough for everyone watching, and definitely not a comfortable relaxing environment. This would be the one major improvement they need to make having stayed at many all inclusive resorts. Pools were clean, and overall the facilities were great.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing place

Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal in Riviera Maya is a beautiful place to be. We can't ask for better services from the staff and the room are exquisite. Restaurant are great but some menus could be updated with a little more variation. This is our 3rd time around and it hasn't disappointed us at all.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Ultimate Comfort and Care

Having stayed in several hotels of this category in the Riviera Maya region, I can confirm that Secrets Maroma offers the best service. The staff are extremely caring, pleasant and always ready to help. They pay a lot of attention to little things, which makes all the difference. The rooms are immaculate, comfortable and very large. The food in the specialty restaurants is excellent. Excellent variety also at the breakfast and lunch buffet. Evening entertainment is worthy of note, each evening a show is offered and sometimes a show and a small intimate concert by the sea the same evening! In brief, if you are looking for a place to be pampered in ultimate comfort, I recommend this hotel without any hesitation.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great Vacation

Resort was great! There are monkey's roaming around which is cool. The rooms were very good, modern, spacious. There are 5 pools - party pools, quiet pool, kids pool etc. Something for everyone. Liked the layout, very easy to get around the resort. Beach area was crowded so get up early if you want a chair by the beach area. Japanese restaurant was awesome!!!! Nightly entertainment was good, overall had nothing to complain about. We did do the upgrade to privilege and probably would not do that  [... read more]again in terms of what we actually used out of it. There was also mixed messages about what you get - one guy said discounts on outings, other said no. Supposed to get top shelf liquor but asked one guy for grey goose and he said you would have to pay for that??? Would probably do a swim up vs whirlpool on balcony as you have to fill them and the water pressure is slow, we only used it once so was not really worth it but still cool. We also had one in the room so it wasn't really necessary to have one outside. Food was good, but make sure to go earlier than when you want to eat as sometimes it takes up to an hour for a table, especially for a larger group. Although we went to one at 7 and got right in, so depends on the night, Italian seemed to be very popular, always a line up. Buffet was good, had no issues finding anything to eat. Overall - really loved it, would go back!

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: Amazing grounds, rooms, food and drink!

Going to keep the review specific. As someone who looks at so many reviews before travelling, I like to hit the highlights! 1. Before going: I got in touch with guest services (via email) to book my restaurant and tour reservations 3 weeks prior to arriving. I read many reviews that said many restaurants were booked up when they arrived, and this completely eliminated all worries. 2. Rooms: beautiful, adequately supplied...beer, soda, water, nespresso pods, snacks of all kinds, tooth [... read more]brushes, toothpaste, shaving kit, magnifying mirror, slippers, beach tote...truly all the things you would ever hope for. Rooms were cleaned twice a day and stocked every day without fail. 3. Restaurants: buffet was great...we make it a habit to try not to eat at the buffets, but this one was an exception. The buffet area is large with multiple stations...always fresh fruit, salads, raw bar, charcuterie station (great meats, cheeses and bread along with all accompaniments), Mexican favourites of all sorts, grilling station, ice cream and desert bar, smoothie bar, tequila and mescal station...and other changes daily. Las Playas beach restaurant and bar...fantastic for lunch...lobster tostadas, tuna tartar, casear salads, fresh fish and ceviches, as well as burgers and ribs. great cocktail list as well. Come late at night and swing at the bar with a cocktail, scotch or beer. CANTINA LOS FAROLES, Mexican steak house is more funky Mexican fusion and great bar that turns into a dance club at 11pm. Las Cuevas, gorgeous ambiance for a brazilian style steakhouse (meat on skewers passed around)...service was great, but the food was only ok. Good to go for the experience. La Trajinera...supposed to be the seafood restaurant, but we went for breakfast lunch and dinner and were not impressed. Food was bland. XIN-GAO...went for the Teppanyaki and the fusion menu...both were amazing. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service was exceptional. For the fusion menu, order a little of everything as the portions are small. TEATRO DEL RíO; went to the Caribbean and Mexican shows...the food is OK but the service was inconsistent. We did not visit any other restaurants. Overall the food is very good, but the service, however good, was not personable or seemed genuine. BARS: Lobby bar, open all day, serves all the usual suspects as well as top notch cocktails, scotches and even specialty coffee drinks. The have a piano player around 6:45pm, then a jazz or rock group that plays till about 11pm. Pool bar, I think there are at least 4 of these, but we only went to the one in the main infinity pool. It gets pretty crazy in the afternoon as you would expect. We typically would have our 1st drink of the day there, hang in the pool for a while, then take off to the beach. Las Playas: attached to the restaurant, is also a stand alone bar. Igunas: pop up bar by the beach chairs. Shout out to Viktor, who made us some amazing cocktails out of his limited supply of ingredients. he definitely provided the best bar "experience" CANTINA LOS FAROLES; there is an upstairs "sports bar", but it is a bit dingy. The best place to be late night is downstairs under the lanterns. The guys work pretty hard here keeping everyone in beverages. There are also pop up bars in various places throughout the resort. POOL: get there early to get a spot with sun for the day. Only one corner seems to get sun, and the water is very cold. It is a pretty pool, but poorly designed for maximum usage. BEACH: a lot of people complained about the beach, and that there was none...there are 3 beaches, with turquoise water and soft sand. There is also full bar service to all chairs. The water can be dangerous at times, so be careful when going in. Lagoon: perfect if you want to stare at turquoise water, jungle foliage and waterfalls while getting served tasty drinks, only feet away from all amenities of the hotel. The wind stays of the lagoon for a calm, serene experience. Be sure to wander around for cave hammocks, hidden alcoves, paddle boards and kayaks. One thing would help: MORE WASHROOMS!!! Good luck if you really gotta go!!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Wonderful and Relaxing Resort - You couldn’t ask for more!

This was our second trip to this wonderful resort and we are considering returning next fall for our third. It has everything you could desire. You can exercise daily, relax by the pool or beach, participate in yoga, volleyball, Pilates, spa, pool exercises, paddle boards, snorkel, etc. It’s your choice to do whatever you want. Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing Resort!

This is the second time to Iberostar Paraiso Beach and I will definitely be back. My wife and I visited in April 2019 and January 2020. Buffet was great, ala carte restaurants were great, pools are huge and fun, or relaxing depends on what pool you are at. The grounds are large but easy to get around with the golf carts that pick you up. 15 minutes to Playa Del Carmen

Beautiful, clean hotel. Rooms a generous size. Staff very accommodating. Food very good. Al a carte restaurants good. Service staff excellent but time to get good a little slow. Nice to have the shopping adjacent to the hotel. Highly recommend this resort

Riu Playacar: Will return in a heartbeat

The layout of this resort was superb. From the front lobby to the rooms, pools and ocean you are looking at a 2 minute walk. Everything is close. The food was amazing, so much variety and absolutely delicious. Our room was spacious and very clean and the maid cleaned it everyday so well. The weather was fantastic, the pools were clean and they take care of the seaweed issue so you can swim in the beautiful water. Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Beautiful spot

The grounds of this resort are lovely. The beach and pool were great! Rooms and food leave a bit to be desired. Our room's bed was terrible which made having a good night sleep impossible. My partner and I were excited for the restaurants you can book reservations at, for a break from the buffet. However, every single meal we had from the restaurants were mediocre at best. Often leaving most of the meal uneaten and going to the buffet after. It is a beautiful resort, well maintained and well staffed. The gym is spectacular and there are plenty of activities on the grounds if you don't plan on leaving the resort. The grounds were a bit too big for my liking but the views can't be beat.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Terrible Experience

We had problems right from the start of the vacation……We were here celebrating our 12 years together so some what of a romantic vacation. We where sent to room 2217 the room was ok at the start we were not happy that there were 2 double beds as we had requested a king size bed, but we thought no worries this we can over look so we were excited to begin our vacation…..so we turned the air conditioner on to 18.5 as we like our room to be a little on the colder side when we are sleeping and g [... read more]etting ready. We headed out to have a look around and get something to eat. We got back to the room and the temperature did not move it was at 25.5. We called down to the front desk to get someone up to the room to look and they came up had a look and said it’s working so we thought ok great……we woke up in the middle of the night and it was still at 25.5 nothing had changed…..it was so hot in there we actually had to open the balcony to let the cool wind in so we could sleep. We went back to the front desk in the morning and explained the situation and had asked to be moved…….they said no worries we will send someone to have a look so back to the room we went and waited and waited finally someone came and again took a look and said it was working?? We thought ok lets go and get something to eat and come back to see if it is working. Once again it was still at 25.5. by this time we were starting to get mad as no one could seem to fix it and they never offered to move us like we had asked. So again we called down to the front desk and said it’s still not working…….so again they said they would send someone. So we waited AGAIN wasting more time of our vacation finally the same guy came did the same thing NOTHING and said its working by this time we were getting frustrated but thought lets get out to the pool and try and enjoy what was left of the day. We get back to our room and the temperature was still the same 25.5. By this time we are getting frustrated called again and the same guy came and check and asked us to wait he would call the room and get a supervisor to come so we stayed in the room and NO ONE CAME another night wasted waiting for someone. The next morning we called to let them know that we waited all night and no call or no one came……so they asked us what temperature we would like it set to we told them again we like to have it at 18.5, he said ok no worries it will be set to that. So we finally went out to enjoy our day as we had already missed out on 2 days of this. When we got back to the room it was still the same 25.5. By this time we are so mad but thought forget it what a waste of time. The next day we had met a couple and they had asked us how we liked the resort. We had mentioned the room and the that the air conditioner wasn’t working……they asked us what room we were in and we told them 2217. She laughed and told us that they were in that room when they first got there a week ago and had asked to move as they were having problems as well. Now this made me really upset as we wasted 3 days of vacation trying to get this fixed and you guys knew it was broken yet lied to us. So we went back to the front desk and said what the couple had told us and finally they agreed to move us. The new room was good still 2 double beds but the air conditioner was working so we were happy……we went out and enjoyed the rest of our day. Once we got back to the room we noticed a lot of noise coming form above, we didn’t really think to much as we thought the people were just loud but this was not the case it appeared that there was some construction going on which started very early in morning and went on very late it was constant banging and sounded like moving furniture. This started at 6:30 am and went till way past 11 pm EVERYDAY. So between the construction and the kids running up and down the hallway screaming and playing starting at 6:30 am we did not get much sleep or relaxation. We know that you can not control the kids as the parents should be parenting their own children but the kids were terrible……we were on our chairs by the pool and there were kids jumping on our loungers and our table while we were sitting there…….it was ridiculous everything got soaking wet from them it was terrible. We were told that one restaurant was closed everyday which was fine however this was not the case…..we tried the Mexican restaurant twice and both times it was closed. There was so many weddings there and so many areas blocked off it was terrible……I understand that weddings are there but you should not be blocking things off for the rest of the guests. We also had a soft football for the pool to toss around which we did the whole vacation except for the second last day we were told no throwing the football in the pool……how does that even work??? We had been using it the whole time……it made no sense to me and then about an hour later they had a football game in that same pool??? I have been to Dreams in Huatulco and loved it there. We have also been to Breathless in Cancun and Breathless in Punt Cana and both places were amazing. We are very disappointed with our whole vacation experience at this resort. We travel every year to an all inclusive resort and have never had these issues.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Great bang for your buck !

The restaurants, rooms, disco and bars were all nice. Food at the specialty restaurants was amazing (other than Bloved - we thought it was gross and couldn't believe it was an extra charge for some rooms) The beach was very quiet and relaxing, and the views were awesome. Great staff ! Both the servers as well as the entertainers

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Loved loved loved the resort!!

This is my second time at Iberostar, first time I was at Del Mar and loved it too! Amazing resort and property and Beach’s lobby is so lively! Amazing staff, everyone is friendly and simply great! Food was always fresh and delish. We were there for a wedding with a big group and the staff did an awesome job taking care of us! I was in room 3349 and it was a perfect location. Minor complaint, the coffee at the buffet was not good, but I heard that it was awesome in the shopping plaza. Book it a [... read more]nd you will not regret it :)

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: Amazing Resort

Great experience - very unique! This was our second stay here, and we plan to return every year, at least until we have experienced every park that is included with your stay. Service and food are excellent and the grounds are pristine!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice Resort

Resort was nice. Rooms were good - could use a little TLC. Food was good and there was a variety of options to choose from. A la Carte reservations fill up by 8am. Pool chairs are taken early so it's hard to get a spot but the beach usually had some available. Shuttles don't come very often but it was easy to walk to pools/beaches/restaurants.

I found the hotel very beautiful and clean! The staff went above & beyond to help & were very courteous. Our room exceeded my expectations and the staff cleaned it every day & changed towels, etc. They gave an extra touch making animals out of the towels & leaving fresh flowers. Room service was prompt & dependable!
