Ocean Riviera Paradise: Very Extensive Resort

Ocean Riviera Paradise has something for everyone. Many restaurant, bar, pool and entertainment choices. Staff are noticeably friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious, clean and nicely arranged. Beach section isnt very big but the beach restaurant is excellent and there is a beach pool that is good for families. Not a lot I can offer up for improvement as we were well served throughout the week there. Only real area for improvement is the company Air Canada Vacations uses to prov [... read more]ide the transfer service to & from the resort. Be prepared for 1.5 to 2 hours after boarding bus before you actually arrive at Resort. They were half an hour late for pickup on return to airport but still in plenty of time at Cancun airport.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Thank you tripcentral

We had a fabulous time at the Grand Coba resort. Excellent place to relax, and enjoy the tropics. The staff at the resort were all excellent and the resort was well maintained with fabulous landscaping. Great food with great fun. Strongly recommended to anyone.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Beautiful resort

This is a lovely resort that caters to all ages . The food is superior. Westjet needs to get more organized with airport transfer to the resort. We were 24 km from the resort and it took 2.5 hrs of travel to get us there. Ridiculous.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great time, not so great resort

Beds are not comfy, while most of us are staying for a week or so you would like to sleep on something comfier. Maintenance should be done more often as our shower was not draining on arrival the following day our toilet was not flushing properly, also the AC unit was stuck on cool it was 16° in our room and we only had thin bedsheets no actual blanket. The food at the buffet for breakfast was never hot so we usually went to the 24 hour restaurant but it took forever to get served and even long [... read more]er to receive our food, a wait of 40 to 50 minutes for one order of pancakes every time. We arrived on our first day looking to book restaurants. None of them were available, you had to check 2-3 times a day to see if there were any cancellation to even be able to get a reservation. Our last day, we came into a flooded room with water coming from the ceiling and down the walls, we went to tell the front desk immediately was told someone was going to come as soon as possible, and no one proceeded to come fix the problem until we checked out the following day if someone even came once we were gone. Overall, don’t think we will ever be back. If so, we would stay at either Akumal or Tulum instead, they look like much nicer resorts.

Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit: Disappointed

I don't normally write reviews because everyone has different expectations and experiences. I do read the reviews but try to weigh the good with the bad and hope for the best. So here goes, our experience was very underwhelming. The pluses were, the pools, grounds, the beach and most of the staff. The biggest disappointment was the food. I know we can't expect the same quality as w [... read more]e would at home but really, this was bad! The resort is generally in need of a good spruce-up. Stupid little things like, the closest doors wouldn't stay closed and we had to put a shoe in front of them. We couldn't get hot water in the bathtub after 10:00 PM, it also leaked and ran under the bed. The sink taps barely ran enough flow to wash your hands. Chairs at the buffet were missing slats on their backs, tables had napkins under the legs to keep them level. Lights down by the pools had broken glass surrounds. Some of the loungers down by the beach were broken. I think the staff for the most part does a good job with what they have to work with. But this is not a 4.5 or 4 star resort. I'm sure it was in it's day but now, no. As far as the Trip Central experience goes that was good. The only mix-up we had was with the airport transfers. I wasn't looking for WestJet vacation transfers (thinking it was Trip Central). No big deal we got it figured out and had no real issues getting to and from the hotel.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Very good resort for families with kids!

We had a trip to this destination as a group of 11 (8 adults and 3 kids). We never were at this destination before and decided to try it. There are some assessments of the trip: Hotel/rooms: rooms are of sufficient size, very clean with everything required available. Beds can be changed as often as required. Minibar was restocked daily to replenish consumed items (regular assortment for Mexico). We found that rooms with so call "ocean view" are not really required since garden view rooms have [... read more] partial exposure to see ocean as well. No complains regarding hotel/rooms. Grounds: there is not much green space since hotel is surrounded by lush swamp and only areas someone can use is beach strip and internal area of u-shaped hotel's building. Plenty of pools are available with different water temperature and depth which satisfies adults and children. Lots of loungers everywhere, unlimited towels are available almost 24/7 with no towel cards which is very convenient. Various slides are attractive for everyone (kids/adults). Beach: beach is sufficiently long and walkable with sea weeds cleaned every morning. Swimming area is surrounded by buoys which break large waves and making swimming more attractive. On negative side, color of water was a bit strange - greening/brownish - and murky especially afternoon. Some plastic debris was floating which may be discouraging for sensitive people to swim. Bottom was sandy with no rocks. Food: buffet food was various to satisfy needs of people with different diets. Daily sashimi, soups, salads, fruits, etc. However, availability of meats and fish could be improved (beef, lamb, salmon) and service at grilling islands was not really fast. Also, ready-to-go grilled food was not always timely available. Between pools some stations were available to get some snacks during day time which was very good! A-la-carte restaurants: as almost everywhere in Mexico and Dominican Republic, it would be unreasonable expectation to experience very high quality of authentic culinary based on restaurant's type. We visited Italian (good), French (so-so), Japanese (show, presentation was good with the same menu of fried rice and grilled proteins - flank steak, salmon, chicken breast and shrimps) and Brazilian. In the last one, staff has very limited understanding of what Brazilian steakhouse is about, picanha was undercooked, chicken was bloody inside making it unsafe to eat. Trimming knives were dull making meat shaving very challenging. As such, our experience was not very good. Also, some of us visited steakhouse with kids and it took them almost two hours to be served. We believed that absence of reservation with staggered time and volume of visitors is the main reason for somewhat unsatisfactory service. But, maybe, other people considered that all was good and only us have some negative comments. Finally: I would rank this resort as solid 4 stars and perhaps family with children may come over for a week or so due to all conveniences for them. Personally, I would not come again since for about same price there are (in my opinion) better resorts (e.g. Barcelo, RIU or Palladium) in Mexico and Dominican Republic.

Park Royal Beach Huatulco: Wonderful stay again!

This was our fourth stay at Park Royal Huatulco, big rooms in a small, quiet, comfortable resort built into the steep hillside for great views. Staff are amazing, everything is clean and everyone is cared for! 2 pools, beautiful views & beach sitting area (ocean is not very swimmable at resort). The resort foods are fresh, local, and basic, healthy offerings. A calm quiet "hidden gem" (so don't tell others, ha ha!)

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great resort

First time visitors....lovely resort. Beautiful landscaping and the staff was top notch ! Cons...entertainment ...asides from aqua aerobics , the pool area was very dull....elevator music and Disney songs. Drinks veeeery weak....I'm a lightweight and didn't even catch a buzz. Would go back again...the pros outweighed the cons..BUT will bring my own rum to top up my drink :0)

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Best all inclusive!

This hotel is phenomenal! The staff work so incredibly hard for long hours to ensure we have everything we need. They have great shows and lots of varied entertainment. The drinks and food were delish! The hotel was walking distance to the market, coco bongo and senior frogs. Great party atmosphere and the best beach. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Resort!!

The Sian Ka’an is a great resort. It is small enough to get around but you also get the use of the other three resorts. The trolly to the beach is great can be a bit challenging when you are returning to the resort from the beach. Depending on where you try to catch the trolley there can be a lot of people at the end of the day. Best place to get on it is at the beach not at the Akumal lobby. The night we arrived the airport was crazy busy and it took two hours to get through customs and get our bags. Then West Jet did not have transportation, they said it would be a few minutes and after 10 or so minutes we inquired and were told it would be another 40 minutes. WestJet has contracted their transportation to Nexus. In the end we were put into a small van that was packed full of people. Either the driver was given incorrect information or he made a mistake but we ended up going to a resort that there were no passengers to get off, this added an extra half hour to the trip. When we returned to the airport for the trip home after waiting for an extra hour WestJet said the flight was over sold and volunteers were needed to stay behind. When they didn’t get enough volunteers they randomly selected 10 people to stay behind. Not happy with WestJet. The resort was great, the transportation was not.

Kore Tulum Retreat Wellness Resort: Good but depending on what you are looking for

This hotel is nice.....has excellent rooms....largest I seen in a while....very spacious. Has room service....no complaints.... Food wise....good.....services was good most of the time.....few hiccups here and there....but good overall. Pool area....nice , can’t complain.....only issue I had...I have my own jug...hold 5 beer....but they would only give me 2 at a time....not sure why...the resort is all in. Riu Flamingos: Very Lovely Stay

Overall, this was a great place to stay on vacation! The food was very good, and the staff was (overall) very friendly. Our only negative experience with the staff was on our first full day on the resort, we had a bird poop on one of our towels and when we asked for a clean one, we got a flat out "no" from the girl working at the towel bar. We explained that a bird literally just pooped on it and she was adamant "one towel per day" and we could exchange it tomorrow. My husband explained it wa [... read more]sn't usable and after some eye-rolling and grumbling, she handed a new towel. I understand some people may overuse the towel exchange, but this felt legitimate for a towel exchange and the attitude dampened our moods. Other than that, the staff was phenomenal. Jackie and Maya at the Italian restaurant were FANTASTIC and an absolute joy. The only room complaint was that our shower water was lukewarm. The resort is well-kept and very clean. The staff are very friendly, and the beach view is outstanding. Sunsets are well worth the wait. Also, the coffee at the sports bar was a lovely surprise.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Royalton Splash Holiday

We had a wonderful holiday at the Royalton Splash. We have travelled several times to Mexico and the Caribbean, and were very impressed with the service, accommodations and incredible food at this resort. This is definitely a resort that is geared towards young children - lots of activities and evening shows for smaller humans who looked to be having a blast. The beach is beautiful, but the water is not clear for swimming. Very little seaweed during the time that we visiting and a walkable an [... read more]d safe beach. The short shuttle ride from the airport is fantastic. We felt that the staff were incredibly responsive and we look forward to returning in the future with grandkids.

Ocean Maya Royale: Amazing resort !

The resort is not big and it’s right on the beach . The grounds are beautiful. Hotel rooms are nice and very clean . Service everywhere is excellent. Overall I’m very happy with my stay there . But there is 3 things I have noticed -would like more Mexican music playing -more chairs on the beach and pool area - mirror in the room . The only mirror is in the bathroom

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Loved this resort

We were impressed with this resort and we were happy we chose it on the recommendation of our trip central agent. We had a junior suite which was quite spacious, double sinks, large shower with 2 shower heads. We tried all the restaurants that we were available to us at La Perla and on the family side and were impressed with the food. Every employee we encountered was friendly. There is a large pool where the games and music is played but if you prefer, there is also a quiet area pool. O [... read more]n the negative side, there is not enough shade at the pool or the beach and the umbrellas they do have need replacing, imo. Some are ripped and some have mildew on them. Overall we would return.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Relaxing holiday

My room was nice with the door to the beach. The air conditioner did not cool my room enough, it was 26 degrees when set at 19. The food was the same every day. No guacamole at all which was disappointing. Also would be nice to be able to take food back to my room. The beach is mostly gone, sand washed away and now it’s rock. Pool was dirty. I have stayed there 3 times and this time was disappointing. Don’t think I will stay there again.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Very nice place!

Grounds are wonderful, staff very friendly, food excellent, SPA - super, entertainment amazing. But - access to the water - not very easy. Would highly recommend having water shoes. Beach is not very big, but it was enough for us. Pools are very nice too. Also -rooms could be better decorated,, they seem plain. We have been in this resort twice, both times with the privileged packages and we wish we understand why we were not placed in the villas clearly marked " privileged" .....

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: O.K. Resort

The Hideaway section reasonably good. Only one restaurant. With diamond purchase, we had two butlers. Both very good. Lorena was exceptional Alfredo was reasonably good but did miss one reservation for dinner. The Royalton section very large & noisy. Most restaurant staff too busy to chat with customers. One outstanding server was a gentleman named Rene. He could not do enough for you.

Riu Palace Baja California: Fun place to stay

Beautiful view that we never got tired of. Great service and food. Good drinks. The rooms were spacious and clean. Lots of great people to meet. Super nice staff who took great care of us. Easy walk to town.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Amazing resort

Just arrived back from a family vacation at this resort. Excellent service,food and resort. The only downside was the children’s club which had little to no activities. The lady in charge did not have any type of children skills or adult for that matter. Was not interested in engaging my 3yr old grandchild and I had to ask her for colouring paper as he sat with colouring pencils only . We had just arrived and completed the necessary paperwork when we were told she was locking up the room and w [... read more]e had to leave. The time schedule on the door stated they were to close one hour later. Honestly nothing much to entertain him there anyway! Overall we had an amazing time. Staff could not be nicer. Oh and if booking a Nexus tour, be sure to take a photo of yourself time stamped when waiting for the bus to arrive. We waited from 1.15pm to 2.30pm for our bus tour (scheduled for 1.30pm pick up) and seemingly the bus arrived but left without us. We did not see this bus arrive nor did anyone look for us. Nexus would not refund our money as our word that we were there waiting did not count. They offered to pick us up the next day but we could not go then. Very frustrating and we lost our money.
