Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Amazing staff!

My family just returned from this resort and we had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the star rating is accurate. This hotel and area has come a long way after recovering from the hurricane. If you are looking for a smaller resort with a beautiful view and are not fussy with perfection, this is the place. Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Great resort

This hotel is the perfect size, not too big, not too small. The grounds and common areas of the resort are well maintained for Cuba standards. The staff are friendly, attentive, helpful and accommodating. We had some early isssues with our rooms upon check in but the front staff worked to find us an acceptable solution. The beach and ocean are absolutely stunning. It took my breath away each and every time I saw it. Hotel Playa Coco: Try somewhere else

Ground floor rooms are musty. Moved to upper floor but A.C. did not work all week despite reporting it 4 times. Service at bars and snack bar was terrible. Buffet service was terrible except for Junior who was great. Tried to play basketball but they didn't have a ball. Tried to play tennis but the courts were cordoned off and there was a light post lying across one court. Played mini putt but paint was peeling off surface and sticking up. It was so windy for 2 days that catamaran couldn't go ou [... read more]t. Went out on day 5. It was 10 minutes straight out and 10 minutes back Boring. Food was good at buffet but very little fruit and veggies. 24 hour Snack bar ran out of food everyday . Septic smell was bad. The veal at the Italian restaurant was so tough it could be used as the sole of a shoe. Service was bad there too. We tipped everyone but service didn't get any better. People were not friendly. They were too busy talking to the other staff to serve you. There were only 3 blenders at the 5 bars. The beach was nice and the water was pretty. We didn't leave resort til 10pm. They wanted u out of room at noon. You could keep the room for $14 an hour! Won't be back.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Grand Muthu

We were quite impressed with the hotel, although its only 1+ weeks old they had enough palapas out in the beach, and the seating around the pool was great. The a la carte dinners were ok, we had the Aqua (seafood) and the International. The Aqua was very good meal and tasty, we weren't impressed that the menu for the International resturant was only one meal - meaning you couldn't pick off the menu- everyone got the same thing, and it was too late to hit up the buffet after our meal. One of the best beaches we have seen in a long time. Very shallow, and while we were there very calm. You could walk out very far on the sandy beach. Or go for a nice walk down the beach to the pier. The rooms were fabulous! Very spacious, and restocked daily. The grounds need a little bit to fill in, but all in all, a very nice layout to the grounds.

Melia Cayo Coco, Cuba was excellent as usual. The hotel has come a long way of recovering from Irma. The beach restaurant and bar took them 3 months to re-build and it is amazing how nice it is. The rooms in the lagoon are very very nice. The a la carte restaurants are very good. The pool is nice and kept clean. The Cubans are very nice at this resort and they make you feel welcome. Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great Beach, great staff

Brand new resort was good for a Cuban resort. Food adequate, fresh made eggs and omelets for breakfast, stir fry for lunch/dinner were very good. As is normal in Cuba the buffet for was adequate, not great. The beach was beautiful new palapas being built and appear to be almost complete. Beach bar could be closer to where the palapas and chairs are, it was bit of a walk to get drinks. The week we were there it was very windy. Waited what seemed like several minutes for drinks at most bars. Especially the lobby bar. Rooms were great very clean maids did a great job of cleaning rooms. They are very appreciative of tips as all staff were. We were with a party of 10 and as with most vacations it is the people you spend time with make it special. Not sure if the 5 star rating is accurate even for Cuban resort standards. We were only able to get two a la carte meals and not the expected three, again this may be related to not having enough staff to handle the amount of people at the resort. My wife was first in line the first possible day to reserve our seating and we were only able to secure two. The a la carta restaurant meals were very good (Italian and Seafood). This was our fifth time to Cuba and I would rate this resort somewhere in the middle of the five different resorts we have stayed at.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great vacation

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms, pool, service and food were excellent. The entertainment was mostly in Spanish, but good. There is not disco, it could use a place to dance, preferable classic rock music. The room fridge should have had water and beer replaced daily, you had to request it. The beach bar is great and the service wonderful, but the huts are far from the bar. Great experience and would definitely go to this hotel again

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Very nice resort, amazing beach and good food.

We have never been to Cuba before. We had our reservations about where to go in Cuba, we felt that we did quite well by choosing Memories Flamenco. The staff was very courteous, pleasant and appreciative. We enjoyed the a la carte restaurants, the buffet was good but all the food was only luke warm, so we tended to have our meals grilled or made for us at the specialty areas. Absolutely loved Rigo in the breakfast buffet every morning, always had a huge smile on his face and a song to sing for y [... read more]ou. Mattresses need replacing but the rooms were quite adequate. We had a great time for a very reasonable price! We also found that tips were not expected and very much appreciated at this resort, very different to some resorts we have visited.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Awesome trip at the Grand Muthu!!

This brand new hotel is absolutely beautiful. The 3 pools are awesome with the last one being an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The rooms are spotless and modern. The beach is beautiful and just a short walk over a boardwalk. The only issue we had is that it was really windy for part of our trip and I think the location of this hotel might make it windier then other resorts on this strip. I would definitely return and would recommend it to anyone.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Decent resort

Dining: decent for Cuba Service: great Beach: you have to go super early to be able to get a palapa because most people reserve it and don't even end up using it! Very annoying that they don't do something about this.. my husband is fair skin and he burns very easily. Pilar beach is very close and so amazing! Cons: my husband was harassed multiples times about his Blue Jays hat..the staff even asked what our room number was and wouldn't leave until we told them.. very unprofessional.

Melia Jardines del Rey: One of the best we have been to!

The beach is unbeatable. Very long walkable stretch of near perfect sand and easily swim able waters and a uniquely fun sand bar. Lots of activities such as catamarans, kayaks and snorkelling. Beach front bar and staff are fun and fast. All hotel staff were excellent and went the extra mile with a smile. One of the larger lobbies we've seen and lots of fun evening entertainment. Even the pools were fun with games and activities to engage guests. Rooms are minimalistic but considering the small a [... read more]mount of time spent there we were fine and the cleaning staff are also very friendly. Lastly, the food wasn't nearly as bad as we prepared for. Fresh grilled fish everyday was delicious and if you ask for popular opinion you can try some nice a la cartes. All in all we were thrilled all week long and actually intend to go back this year !

Melia Jardines del Rey: The resort was great!

The resort was beautiful and the service was great! The staff was friendly and always around if you needed anything! The beach and pools were phenomenal and the weather couldn't have been better! Would definitely go again!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Nice resort

The resort was great, always had staff cleaning ,our rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels. The staff were very friendly.The problem we had was the the buffet was always cold, and the drinks were not made with fresh juice.

Melia Costa Rey: Had a great time at Pullman!

I would recommend the Pullman to anyone who hasn't been there yet. The entertainment during the day was great! The people are very friendly. The food wasn't awful.. for a resort in Cuba it was decent. I went with a group of people and none of us got sick. The rooms are clean, although the beds weren't that comfortable and the queen size bed is not actually a queen - they are a lot smaller. The drinks in the Lobby are the best!! They have really good coffee in the Lobby as well!! As for WiFi.. Y [... read more]ou have to pay for a WiFi card that only works in the Lobby, although the WiFi DID work in my room from time to time. I wouldn't waste your time getting WiFi unless you desperately need it because it kept cutting in and out. Overall I had a great time at the Pullman. It was my first trip to Cuba and I have no big complaints!!

Hotel Mojito: Very amazing location

The hotel was good but was disappointed no balconies. But otherwise all the staff are hard working and very pleasant. They suffered greatly from the hurricane and are making a come back but supplies and equipment is limited. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Amazing beach.

The hotel was dated can't really say it's a four star even for Cuban standards. The staff was nothing but friendly and helpful. The food was not very good most of it at the buffet was cold. For a Melia resort we were a little disappointed. The weather was sunny all week but so windy couldn't sit on the beach a few days without getting sandblasted.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Resort

Went last week and our room was great! Nice and big and most of all clean. Staff was really friendly and the beach was amazing and food was better than expected especially if you went to the grill stations

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Relaxing get away at the beach!

Overall, this was a lovely trip. We had fun and enjoyed the beach everyday. The staff were very attentive, especially at the beach bringing plenty of drinks and food to our loungers. No concerns finding space on the beach, and the beach is amazingly beautiful. The rooms were fine, clean and the beds where comfortable, but definitely not posh, just simple. The little chairs outside were not very comfortable, and we do like to sit on the balcony or terrace to read and drink coffee in the morni [... read more]ng. In some common areas, i found a bit dirty with litter scattered around (yes it was windy, but it was there all day) pool was ok but not enough loungers and some needed to be tossed in the garbage they were in such poor shape. I did not like that they used little plastic cups, and we did bring a insulated coffee cup to keep our drinks cold and reduce waste. We had lunch everyday at the beach eating either sandwiches and or pizza. Pizza was excellent. Washrooms were a bit of a walk from the diamond club beach area. Coffee is good at the snack bar, otherwise and in the piano bar. Don't order anywhere else or you will be disappointed. We ate breakfast at the buffet and at the diamond club breakfast that they serve. Eggs were cooked well, omelette. Very bad pancake. Decently fresh fruit. Dinner was decent at the buffet. I did not stave and again, the service is wonderful. Not a lot of fresh veggies, and i was sometimes disappointed to see ham added to the veggies-why? The fried fish was pretty good and i lived on this at dinner everyday so i can't say what any other meats tasted like. The restaurants, i was really disappointed in. The food was dry and just plain. The fish soup at the asian restaurant tasted like sea water and a couple bits of fish. I could not believe they could serve something so horribly bad. Entertainment was good, but we did not see much as we went to bed early. Overall we had 5 STAR FUN, and the staff were great, but this is barely a 4 star resort, so do not expect too much and you will have lots of fun too! What was 5 star: -the beach of course -not a bad price (3 star price) -very attentive friendly staff -best pizza on the beach -crazy funny towel animals in our room -Junior brought me a coconut to drink and eat everyday! What was 2 star: -the restaurant food -bland food -old decaying loungers -the wasteful use of small plastic disposable cups

have nothing bad to say about my stay everything was great. we had to change rooms once bec there was no pull out couch that turned into a bed in our room and we were 3 people in one room. our friends room kept on having their water in there room go off. but ours was fine. food was great. workers were great. beach was nice. would recommend to others.

Hotel Playa Coco: Would not go back!

You arrive at the resort and the lobby is all brand new (rebuilt after the hurricane). I like that this is a small resort but our room was a disaster and the staff don't care about anything. Every time the person above us had a shower water came gushing down into our bathtub. We complained for three days and asked numerous times to be switched to a different room and each time we were just told they would send a technician. The issue didn't get fixed the whole week! Some days you have hot water  [... read more]and some days you don't. We were lucky to be in a room which the AC worked because after talking with other guests a lot of rooms had no working AC. The staff don't care about anything. There was one night we slept with crickets chirping in our room all night long. After that, everyday before we went to bed we moved all the furniture to find them and killed at least six each day and they were massive. The towels that they leave you are dirty. The public bathrooms have no toilet paper in them and no locks on the door. There was even one day a lady was in the bathroom cleaning and three of us happened to walk in at the same time and we asked her for toilet paper. She told us one minute and just continued cleaning the countertop. She never did go and get us any toilet paper. The buffet has the same food all the time. Whatever is leftover from supper that is breakfast the next day. None of the food has any flavor. There were never any plates at the buffet. The Japanese and Italian a la carte were really good. The beach is beautiful but they are rebuilding a building from the hurricane so you sit there and listen to construction all day long. The nightly entertainers are good but it gets to be boring after a few nights as it is all pretty much the same thing just different music. Will never go back to this resort or recommend to anyone.
