Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites: Amazing resort is right

This resort is exceptional. The food, the hospitality, and everything else. Awesome. One of the best holidays I've ever had. Everything I needed was there. There was no need to lease the resort. I did go see some attractions that I booked through the resort. All in all. I'm going back next winter.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Great trip

Hotel and grounds were very nice. Although only a year old the rooms are a little worn. The food was as expected for Cuba but the staff could use some training in safe food handling. The entertainment staff made the trip and the evening shows were excellent.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Great Resort

The resort was kept very clean. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. Food was good, buffet always had lots of choices. Entertainment staff and shows were good, always including the guests.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Not a good place to stay

The resort is dated and feels claustrophobic all over resort from the pool to the reception area. Rooms are dark and dingy, especially the bathrooms. The rooms (we had 2) had a smell. The beach is on a hill, ocean is rocky. The buffet where food is feels like your in a basement. This resort is rated 4+ but is no where close to that.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: It was OK

We stayed from January 1st to 8th. We were at the Iberostar Daquiri last year and did an excursion to Pilar beach. That it was prompted us to travel to Playa Pilar this year. We knew it was new, but it didn't feel very new and impressive. Things were still being done around the resort. It is a 50 minute ride to the airport. Beach --> as the description says there is not much of a beach area. There is an elevated dock that you can sit on and climb down into the water (no waves on the islet).  [... read more]The small beach area doesn't have great sand. However, you can walk the paved road (15-20 minutes) to get to Pilar beach or you can walk through the water (just make sure to keep your belongings above chest area). Pilar beach is unbelievable. Note - chairs are 2 pesos each for rental at Pilar beach, or you can just use your towel. Rooms --> Cuba really needs to improve on their beds, bedding, and pillows. The beds are hard and the pillows are very thin. The shower has a glass panel that allows you to see right through to the bed area (maybe a concern if you are traveling with a family). You can also see someone on the toilet from your bed. Food --> typical bland Cuban food. The Japanese A la carte Teppanyaki was very good (they also put on a great show). The Mediterranean was the second best A la carte, and it is the only place you can get lobster. The Italian A la carte was good. There is only one buffet. They need more chefs to work at the "cook food on demand" stations because there are often long lines. If you go to eat with someone who just grabs food from the buffet, they will be done their meal before you even get a chance to sit down. Snack Bar --> serves pizza, burgers and hotdogs. Open between 3 and 5 pm. Pool Area --> very nice. However, they have these new wicker chairs that are body shaped, but since they are not adjustable they are not always ideal to lay on. Service and Bar --> good. Wifi signals --> slow. Nightly Entertainment - When the professional dancers put on the show it was great. Also, the travelling aquatic dancers were excellent. The rock band was also good. However, the quiz show was not great (10 questions took 1 hour) and on January 6th they performed an odd Christmas show.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: We enjoyed the Resort!

Liked the size( not too big) we were with a good sized group & never lost each other. Meals were good, & service was good. Staff were friendly & made friends with some. Weather was awesome & loved the beach, we used the pool very little & enjoyed the foam party. The events staff was a lot of fun!

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Great resort.

I was absolutely amazed about the beautiful nature of this resort. The resort was build around a jungle full of flamingos, monkeys, peacocks, turtles and iguanas. The rooms were beautiful and very we'll appointed. The food was great. Tried the Italian restaurant and the Japanese cooking table. Great show at the Japanese restaurant , the chef was very entertaining. I would recommend this hotel to families and couples The hotel is situated 10 minutes away by cab to playa de Carmen. Cab ride [... read more] is about $8. The only negative was the fact that there weren't any activities for older teens. A teen room with a pool table or some activities specifically targeted for 16-19 year old would have been great.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Resort

We really enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar Playa Alameda. The resort was very well maintained! We found that all the staff at the resort were very friendly & very helpful. We would recommend Iberostar Resorts to our family & friends!

Hotel Mojito: Awesome staff and nice resort!!

We enjoyed staying at Iberostar resort in Cuba. The food at the buffet was very good, we mostly had grilled meats, fish, paella, rice and beans, etc. The fruits available were fresh. Remember to check out the churros stand, best churros ever!! The staff was friendly and helpful. The beach was excellent. The housekeeper is super amazing, the room was always spotless. Special shout out to Yaquelin Elsa. She is the nicest person with a happy personality. During our stay we went to Morón which is a nearby city and it was great to see the local people. Overall, it is what I expected, I have travelled to many Caribbean countries. I enjoy learning about the unique culture, history, and cuisine of the Caribbean.

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Rooms need serious attention - old and not so clean - but resort is beautiful

Just back from the Iberostar Cancun ,the food is wonderful, all good from buffet to specialty restaurants. The steak house restaurant was amazing, great tenderloin. The beach is a 5 star beach for sure!! Staff are really nice. The pools are great and not cold. We were glad we insisted on a superior, ocean view room, overlooking the pool. Some of the rooms overlook a construction site, and the lower rooms overlook the air conditioning system. Yuk! The kids place is in need of upgrading, [... read more] the furniture is old and not so clean in there for little kids. We had a wonderful time despite the room - more like a 3 star room - and would go back if the rooms were renovated, but beware, it is not 5 star hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend because of the rooms.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Really nice resort

Beautiful beach & people. Adult side was quiet and comfortable. Food and service were both good. Lobster was available for lunch and dinner. Rooms in the adult section were spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend this resort

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great resort, super staff!

My wife and I really enjoyed the resort and newly extended beach. Weather was great, food not bad and water was all the shades of blue. Our recently renovated room and balcony faced the ocean even though it wasn't requested.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites: Amazing Resort

We were upgraded to the Grand Paraiso. This resort exceeded our expectation from the service of the hotel staff, to the amazing grounds which was very clean. The warm tropical weather was icing on the cake

Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Wonderful Resort

Our rooms were 5052 and 5053 -- awesome room location near the pool -- very happy that the resort placed our family side by side (often those requests are made and not honored by resorts) -- The restaurants and buffets were excellent and we had wonderful service The flight was great as well -- no complaints about this trip!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: So-so resort, but great staff

Got room #1032. There was no hot water when we checked in. I had to take a cold shower since I hopped in the shower and got myself wet already. After taking the cold shower, I told the reception about the problem. They said they'll send someone. We waited but no one came, so we went to eat since we were hungry. After dinner, they said they'll send someone in 20 minutes. They still didn't come. So the first night, we did not have hot water. They finally came to fix it next morning. Even then, the [... read more] water was not HOT. It was lukewarm. Also, the washroom and closet doors don't close completely. They are wooden doors, so they probably expanded due to the heat. The remote controller didn't work on the TV, and no power to the safe. The overall room looked old-fashion. But the staff was amazing! The awesome staff made up to our crappy room. We went in December, so the cost to stay at this resort was quite high. I know 4.5 star in Cuba is not 4.5 star, but I'd at least expect to have hot water. I didn't feel like I got what I paid for. However, we made the best of the trip and it was still fun.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Worse than what we expected

There was mold in the room and they cleaned it after 2 days. Also,our luggage was lost for 2 days.Aditionally, there was a very long line up at the buffet all the time. There was a shortage of tawels and we couldn't exchange them for 3 days.Finnaly,the intertainment was good and the staff was friendly.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing Resort

We normally stay at smaller 3 star hotels but thought we'd give ourselves a treat and tried this upscale one. We were really impressed with the food in the buffet and the restaurants. The service was excellent and our room very spacious. While the hotel has over 500 rooms, these are spread out over a large area so you never felt like it was crowded. The beaches were well maintained and and had restaurants and bar service right there. Snorkeling was good in close. We met some super staff [... read more] who went out of their way to make us feel at home. The only downside was the 90 minute bus ride and the airport facilities at Santa Clara. The airport is too small for the number of travelers and needs an upgrade.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Brilliant!

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights from January 1st, 2017 and we had a superb time. We took the room on the ocean front which was just awesome. Waking to the sound of the ocean was just surreal. The room was better than expected. Extremely comfortable jumbo sized bed was an added bonus. Better than our own. Do yourself a favour and get the ocean front room. Breakfast buffet was excellent, vast array of food on offer to satisfy all wants. Beautiful beach, warm water and fantastic snorkelling along a small reef just 30m off the beach to the right. Spectacular array of marine life without having to pay for a guided snorkelling tour. So cool. Beautiful pool area with infinity pools. We lived on the beach however. Super friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond for my wife's birthday. Very attentive but not over bearing. Late checkout until 3pm (complimentary) was great. We ended up paying $10 for an additional hour so we could leave the beach at 3.30pm, shower and meet the airport bus by 4.30pm. This place was so quiet (kid free) but still lots of fun if you want to engage in the activities during the day on the beach. We will be back. A great first experience of Jamaica.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: excellent holiday

It's a given that hotels in the warmer climates range from grubby to dirty and there will always be something that is broken. If you can accept this then you will have a wonderful holiday at this resort. The housekeeping staff was competent, the food was wonderful and plentiful and varied. The activities were enjoyable. The lobby bar was always active and full. We were a family of five, 3 adults and 2 kids in a family room. Everybody had a good time and ate too much.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing resort!!!!!!

I stayed there from Dec 27th, 2016 to Jan 5th, 2017. Note that this was my first time in Cuba. Everything was amazing. Actually though. The food was incredible, the service was great! We did have an issue with having towels for the shower on occasion. And it happened a few times that we couldn't exchange the beach towels because they ran out of clean ones. I was however disappointed that the pools closed at 5.00 pm. That's really early to close a pool. Overall though, absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in visiting a resort in Cuba.
