Playa Caleta: good value

The hotel is an older one but after going there for15+years I still enjoy my stays there. The staff make the hotel, I hear a lot of complaints about the elevators being slow but I am on holiday and not in a rush to go any where. The food is typical Cuban, I had no complainants about the cleaniness of the hotel. The service was great, The pools are super clean washrooms cleaned regulary (its the guests who leave them dirty ) I would recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a cheap get away.

Hotel Villa Cuba: My second Home

This was my 10th trip and my 12th stay at Las Morlas . All my visits have been very , very favourable. Every one there knows me. From the Bosses to the gardeners . I am always greeted with "Welcome home Leila ". I always refer my friends to go to the BEST Hotel in Varadero . The hospitality is super and food is comparable to no other hotel in Varadero . I will stay at none other than Las Morlas .

Melia Marina Varadero: Brits from Scarborough Ont

We stayed in the Melia Marina Varadero. The service was exceptional and All Inclusive was indeed "all inclusive" with convenient drinks/food access from Beach to Pool to Lobby. All staff at all levels could not have been more helpful.

Melia Las Americas: Wonderful resort

The hotel located in very nice spot in Varadero. The sea beach is very clean . The staff are helpful and friendly people. The room was quite neat and calm, the room service was very active and change and clean everyday.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Be live experience varadero

The room in the hotel was very nice, but the bathroom needed a little bit of freshening up. The food in the buffet was good at the beginning, however, it was exactly the same during the entire week so we got tired of the food. We booked at the Chinese restaurant and found it to be extremely good, so we ate there two times. The layout of the resort is great as there is not too much walking. The ocean of course is the best! Roc Arenas Doradas: Awesome resort

Older resort but very well maintained.....it was late in the season not alot of people however the staff was super friendly and made us feel comfortable... Daily and evening entertainment was great.....food rooms beach were amazing as well...would definitely return

Los Delfines: Ok Resort

The location is perfect. The bedrooms are dull. No hot water or very low water pressure. The food is bland, pretty much the same everyday. The music is terrible, they blast reggae ton on the beach at 9 am. People are there to relax and they play the same garbage everyday. The only good night they had entertainment was when a band was playing authentic cuban music. The only bartender that is good there is Amaury. Check out is at 12, asked to have our room for another 3 hours, they wanted  [... read more]to charge me 53 CUC. that is ridiculous. Has changed a lot since i was there in 2017. I would only go back if the price were right.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: great resort

Had a great time at Playa Alameda, clean and quiet, perfect for couples. The food is not that great. Service was great people are very friendly. Great place to visit. There where lots of bugs in the room at night.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: IM NOT PICKY BUT DO HAVE LIMITS

Never been disappointed in a vacation before arriving at this resort. I dont expect much but you should get at least close to what you payed for. Kids playing beer pong in the front lobby,garbage everywhere. This place is like a scene from a horror movie. Broken toilet seat, no blankets. The room was supposed to be for 3 adult women. We got a king size bed and a cot. Front desk staff was also annoyed by our request of blankets and pillow for the cot. We asked for this around 10pm, they came  [... read more]to our door at 1am. the worst customer service I've ever received or lack there of. Snack bar worker didn't even acknowledge us just pointed. Only great thing is the sun wing rep Yordi. He made arrangements for us to move and made our vacation a great experience..thanks Yordi.. I could continue with the things that made me unhappy upon arrival but I'll focus on the fact that we got moved to Grand Memories and had an amazing vacation.. Never would I reccomend Occidental to anyone..disappointed our agent didn't warn us!!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Had a really great time!!!

Let's see I've been to many different resorts in Cuba and this one stands out,everything was really good ,food ,entertainment,staff,wonderful beach and great service they really work hard to enhance your vacation experience.I would return.

Blau Varadero: great hotel

We have been to Cuba many times and i must say this hotel is at the top...clean and staff very nice lots of chairs and shade around the property..also food was very good.Entertainment at night is lacking a little but no biggie if you want a relaxing holiday this is the place to go

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Relaxing vacation

Our adult family of 4 just came back June 10th 2019 from Laguna Azul. This resort from the exterior is stunning! Beautiful open and modern lobby, picturesque main pool and postcard beautiful beach. We had excellent weather- we went for the sun and boy, did we get some! We did an excursion - Catamaran/Snorkelling. This was a fun trip off the resort but the coral reef was nothing to marvel at; within 5 minutes I had my mask and snorkel off and was just swimming around enjoying the refreshing water [... read more]. Excursion stops for a buffet (great food) and beach time at Cayo Blanco...WOW! Beautiful beach and soft white sand. They have a mammal there called the tree rat- friendly and mostly looking for some food, water and shade! Happy to provide for them being an animal lover :)  The rooms had a mildly stale odor when we first entered and there were minor issues between the rooms- no toilet paper, really unstable fan, small leak from the mini fridge. The resort gives you blue beach towels to use poolside and we had none. Elevators frequently out of service around the resort. Wifi not included- you buy a 1 CUC wifi card which gives you 60 minutes of Wifi and it's mostly only accessible in the lobby not the rooms. The biggest trick I can share is to tip them/gift the staff including maids and buffet staff early on- our service had a noticeable difference afterwards! I know its backwards though...we normally tip after a meal or service since the amount is based on quality of work but just go with it. The food was plentiful but average. I grumbled a little despite being the most easy going with that but then I heard about other resorts really showing signs of the food shortage and sometimes only having rice etc and now I'm really grateful for what we had! Book the a la cartes, I enjoyed the experiences especially Japanese.  Overall, would I return to Varadero- maybe for a cheap and cheerful getaway and I would likely return here but otherwise I may try to upgrade to another country with more modern features. I came for rest and relaxation though and I am very pleased to say my vacation here delivered.

Starfish Jibacoa: Lovely and Laid Back

Cute simple bungalows right in the beach with great snorkelling. Surprisingly good food for Cuba which has usually been problematic. Freshly grilled fish at every meal, fresh veggies, rice and beans, pretty good deserts, very nice home baked bread. Yordy especially but all very nice genuinely kind staff. Not much night life to be had. The beach is gorgeous and not over crowded. Keep your towels and stuff inside the room as mine got stolen which was disappointing. That was sweet. The grounds are spread out and very beautiful. Havana and Varadero nightlife are both an hour away. Highly recommend this resort if you are not too picky and not expecting anything fancy. The entire beach is a coral reef so shallow swimming for kids just in a small area. I don’t go in the pool because I’m more into the beach and great snorkelling. I also had a massage that was fantastic for only 20 CUC plus a tip. I will go back.

Hotel Tuxpan: Same old, same old

We have been to this hotel a dozen times and it has not changed in many years. Rooms are OK, the food is bland and repetitive, the only good thing is the beach. Thank God for that . The people of the hotel are nice.

Sol Palmeras: Beautiful Beach!

This hotel and the grounds are huge, with many bungalows as well. The best part was the beach, which was clear, cool, shallow for a great distance, and a beautiful shade of aqua blue. If you speak Spanish, you will be happy here. If not, you will feel like you are in the minority. If you are a senior citizen, be prepared to stay up later than usual in order to catch the live shows. They don't start until 9:30 or 9:45. The club house had no dominos and no playing cards while we were there, so bring your own. There are several excursions offered, at a substantially extra cost. Take the little train to Plaza America for a free outing. Or take the 5 CUC shuttle bus into Varadero centre for a little excursion. There are no clocks anywhere in the hotel, bars, or restaurants, so wear a watch if you don't have a cell phone. Best restaurant was O Solo Mio.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Great hotel for the price

Hotel rooms and grounds are very clean. Our cleaning lady Teresa was so good always on top of everything and excellent cleaner. The staff are very friendly and are will to help in every way they can. The shows are out of thid world like synchro, magic act and other fabulous shows. Some things need fixing like the gym has equipment that have been broken for at least 3 years and at least one elevator in each building is out of order, but remember you are in Cuba. Memories Jibacoa: 'Brilliant' Resort with all the amenities one can possibly dream of..

Everything was as it was when we left it 3 years ago. Staff are amazing! Hotel manager, David a PR person who ensures everyone is comfortable! Weather, ocean, grounds and activities: tennis and yoga perfect!

Sol Varadero Beach: Stayed at the Cosmanot

It was very high end, nice and clean, service was excellent. Wasn’t a lot open at the time I went due to the season low time but enjoyed my stay very much. Would like to return but at a different time as I found it too hot for me.

Grand Memories Varadero: Always my home away from home!

Only good to say! Will always be coming back 3-4 times a year. Missing the gang already. See you guys soon! Animation: the best in Varadero. Beach: wow! Food: It's Cuba! Staff: Love them! Amenities: Yeah!

Roc Arenas Doradas: Great place to enjoy Veradero!

The staff are wonderful...especially Reuben at the Buffet! The rooms and grounds are clean...the grounds keepers are excellent and supply coconuts to enjoy! Swim up bar and restaurant is great. Say hello to Jesus while having a burger! The ocean and beach were pristine! Great resort and the staff make it better!
