Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful Resort

We were a party of 6 seniors who enjoyed a restful, trouble free week at the Iberostar resort. The staff was always helpful and courteous. The waiters seemed to always remember our preferences and the food was fantastic in all the restaurants with lots to choose from. We even had ocean view rooms without asking. The grounds are beautiful and the beach area was clean and not crowded. We will certainly be back for another holiday.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Fantabulous

The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Always a good variety of food to choose from. The rooms were always kept clean by the staff. The entertainment staff were very friendly and upbeat, always trying to include all the tourists with fun an games. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation ✔✔✔✔✔

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: So so rersort

Ground : Nice and clean. Bar service is excellent. Food is average. Entertainment is OK. Big cockroach found in my room. New beach shoe was stolen from balcony and was reported. I was here the 3rd time. The first two times was very good.

Riu Merengue: Great resort

Grounds were lovely and well cared for. My first time at a resort. Easy to fill a day with reading friends and water. Lots of food but always the same. Most of our party had travelers complaint which was not good. Love the living quarters. Staff very friendly.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Worst vacation we have ever had

Rooms -3 rooms 10 days, clean, ill repair Staff - few friendly Buffet - disgusting A La Cartes - 1 ok Activities - website has 22 FREE at or near resort - 12 we never saw or heard about Manager - excellent

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Nice resort for wind related water sport

food is good, a lot of variation. staffs work really hard to make sure rooms and resort areas are clean. very calm inside the resort even-thought it is along a major road. very close to a sailing rental center if you like to sail.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Pretty nice! Beach could have been alot nicer!

The staff was friendly and kind. The food was pretty good. Nice pool and bar. Beach was rocky and sand wasnt that nice. Overall decent resort. The entertainment was not very good. The pools were seperated instead of one big one. The wifi that was supposed to work outside the lobby didnt when we were there. The ppl selling items were VERY bothersome and i had to avoid going into the shops completely.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Value

The hotel is very nice. Staff keep it very clean. It has some of the nicest people working there. Animation crew keep everyone involved in what was going on. They try very hard to make sure that everyone has a wonderful time. The pools are extremely clean. The food was excellent lots to pick from.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great resort

A beautiful clean resort. If you are looking for white sand beaches you wont find them here. What you will find is hard working staff who really do their best to make your stay enjoyable. The food was very good, and they change up the buffet theme every day.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Nice Resort

I was at this resort the beginning of November. I went solo so my opinion may differ from couples or families. It was not too busy so for the most part fairly quiet. The food was fantastic. Plenty of choice and tasty. The servers were polite and the entertainment staff were happy go lucky and made me laugh everyday. When the local families started checking in for the weekend, it became crowded and noisy but entertaining at the same time. One COMPLAINT: during the day on the beach you would be asked quite often to buy jewelry or clothes; have braids done or have a massage. Also to take tours or to talk about time share possibilities etc. For this reason I found it more pleasant to stay around the pool during the day and go to the beach after 5p.m. The water (ocean) was warmer than the pool and very relaxing.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: A good value adult resort

This was our 4th trip to the Villas Doradas and we have seen 3 renos. The resort is very clean with a definite pride of ownership. My major beef is that there is a large section of "better" rooms reserved for time share guests versus regular paying clients. If possible we would like to be able to receive CNN and a Canadian TV channel. With the large number of Canadian guests they should be able to mix Caesar's. The selection of food is great and the Jade Garden is a beautiful restaurant with exc [... read more]ellent food vs. the old Chinese format. The small pool beside the Spa should have the bar re-opened for the 4-8pm crowd with some bar snacks and some bar stools. Something that definitely needs to be changed is the beach vendors. Unless these people are resort employees then get them off the property. There is vacant land next door to the east and that is where they can gather, not mingled in front of your beach guests. We receive an insessant noise from this group that is completely inappropriate for the paying guests. There is a wonderful carring staff that is probably underappreciated by the guests.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Very nice resort a lots of Palm trees.

exellent location grounds very clean a lots of green everywhere.what I like the most was the palm trees on the beach and pool area very nice and busy. food ok.always fresh and plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Riu Merengue: Fantastic Stay with Family and Friends!

The resort was what we had hoped for, excellent rooms, plenty of food and drinks and nice atmosphere. It was nice having access to the other hotels and venues during the stay. Shows during the evening were well done.

Riu Merengue: Nice Resort but...

The resort overall was very nice. The rooms were clean, the food was good if a bit repetitive. The pools, grounds and common areas were kept nice and we always saw people working hard to keep it so. The beach was also nice. I was a bit worried after reading other reviews about the locals coming on the weekend but we had no problems. Our main complaint was the flies that were on everything. Out of a group of 18 people, 16 of us got sick to varying degrees. I don't know for sure but think it could [... read more] have been the flies that were all over the food. However, overall we had a great trip and found the resort and its staff very nice.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Its a Grand!

I stayed at Be Live Grand Marien in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic from November 26 to December 3. It was an awesome experience. The food was really good, the entertainment crew is amazing especially Blondie. The night shows are a ton of fun, and the disco will always create laughs, new friends, and memories. You may remember me as the guy who kept doing the worm on the dance floor, and the karoke duet Whenever, Wherever by Shakira. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Lovely resort!

We visited this resort from November 23-30, 2015. We had a great time but there were a few hiccups. Although we upgraded to the VIP option, we were under the assumption that this would provide us with several additional options when it really only allowed us access to a separate area of the beach. It was very confusing as the hotel also referred to their time share guests as VIP and they had several additional benefits. The food was okay but our group really enjoyed the Asian restaurant.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing Visit

A holiday is only as good as you make it. Was nervous after reading some reviews but we just got home Nov 30th after a week and everything was AMAZING. I can not complain about being in the sun in a beautiful resort not having to cook, clean or doing anything except relax. If you are going to complain about being taken care of stay home. Staff goes above and beyond to make stay good. We stayed in 304 building no issues AC worked great, housekeeping Ana tried to communicate always made sure we ha [... read more]d towels. Maintenance staff works so hard to keep grounds beautiful. One gentleman waxed lobby floors, moved umbrella's for people near pool if they asked, he picked up cups and emptied ashtrays around pool. He was always pleasant and had smile on his face and talked to us. Bartenders get to know your drinks and had us always refilled without asking. There is a lot of stairs though to get from rooms to pool level then back down other side to buffet.

Overall enjoyed this resort. The staff in general were outstanding and room spacious and clean. Reception services needs some work as it was difficult to exchange money and book a la carte. Recommend.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Great staff, a little dated, some good and bad!

Staff was amazing... we were there in low season so there was plenty of staff to tend on your every need. Beware the time share people as they are also there for the hard sell... not even a free massage to entice you to listen to their pitch. Front desk staff were a little disappointing, never any cash to exchange of monies, and long wait to check in, 4 hours... other than that a good resort.. They say all inclusive but there are some premiums even with room upgrades, we were in an ocean view su [... read more]ite... 4 dollars a day for in room safe... also the First time I had seen an a la carte with a cash option for the good food......

Riu Merengue: Hotel Trotter

Facility was great, rooms were good, food was good. Too many flies on food at the outdoor buffet. A lot of people in our group were sick with a gastronomical disorder. Beach was beautiful and pools were great.
