Melia Las Americas: Another amazing vacation

We have been to this hotel over 20 times. We brought our friends with us one year and they loved it also so they have been returning with us at least once every year. The staff at this hotel are the best. Just relax and don’t be in a hurry and they will look after you. The beach here is wonderful. The hotel is kept very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great beach

Beach was amazing that’s why you go to Cuba!! Hotel was run down ... ran out of pool towels .couldn't exchange for fresh ones .. had to change rooms 3x ... food was ok ... didn’t go hungry .. shows were entertaining.. kids enjoyed them ...

Hotel Los Cactus: Be Live Adults

Great Hotel and if you like Cuban food there will be lots to choose from. We brought some tuna, cheese, peanut butter, tea and other treats from home that would substitute for a meal. As always the staff was great. If you are in the older section ask for an upgrade. It's very noisy, there's to much mold and not good venting. Our friends moved mid way thru the trip and we stayed. Three out of four had sore throats at this time. The one that moved never got sick but we both arrived home stuff [... read more]ed and coughing. And we felt like this before we got on the plane. No fever, great appetite but flu like symptoms for one week after returning home. Be sure and visit the Dupont house and if you like to dance go to the Beatles Club in the evening.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Unforgivable Resort 💫💫💫💫💫

Everything was good and professional there only some staff gave attitude to people for no reasons but the rest is perfect and beautiful.I think they should add room service and bottles service for room and free wifi to get improved.

Barcelo Solymar: Deteriorated Resort

The gardens were well maintained but I’m afraid the room was a disappointment to say the least. The only good thing was that the mattress was firm and comfortable. The food was very repetitive and it made me very sick for two whole days enough that I had to go to the clinic. I will not return to this hotel. Also I called reception a couple of times and when the girl on the desk couldn’t understand what I was saying, she simply hung up on me....very rude. Melia Las Americas: Beautiful resort

The resort is beautiful. The view when you leave the lobby area to go to the beach is incredible. The main areas of the hotel are well maintained. The room we were in did need to be updated, especially the bathtub. However the rooms were clean and that is what is most important to us. The food was good. There is a grill area where you can get omelettes in the morning and at lunch and dinner you can pick fish, chicken, pork or whatever you want and it will be grilled right in front of you. We tried the specialty restaurants. They were fine although portions are small and we ended up going to the buffet after! I find also that the English descriptions on the menu don’t match with what you get a lot of the time. I would go back to the Japanese restaurant which was probably my favourite. We had no trouble finding loungers in the shade although there were the usual chair hogs who would place a towel on the chair and then not show up till afternoon. We went in May and I don’t think the hotel was full when we were there so that could make a difference to your experience. The people are very friendly and the service was great. There is a plaza nearby which is within walking distance. I would definitely go back here. It is one of the best places I have been in Cuba.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing Beach!!

The resort entrance and grounds were beautiful. There are pools that span throughout the main area which makes walking around very pleasant. The rooms themselves are a bit seasoned although very spacious and comfortable (I had a junior suite). On the other hand most of the public facilities are of a newer construction. There is a balcony with two chairs to every room. Every room has access to butler service. The beach is amazing, fine sands, warm waters and good seating. There are several a la c [... read more]arte restaurants. You have to make reservations for each of them at the kiosk in the main building. Be sure to do this as soon as possible as the time slots fill up quickly. There are nightly live shows between 8:30pm and 9:30pm and eating a meal will on average take about an hour, keep that in mind for the reservations. The steak was always the best choice regardless of the restaurant. The seafood choices were not usually very fresh although the fish was alright.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Not what I was expecting

This is a big resort but it seems that it has many areas closed, so when we complained about the noise in our room for being very close to the swimming pool, and requested to be moved to another quieter area, they simply said: "No. All the rooms are the same"- when we could see that there were other quieter areas. We went there in April 2019. The reviews from late 2018 said that the hotel was being repaired then. So I was hopping to find a newly renovated hotel but it was in fact ready for re [... read more]newal: scratches on the walls everywhere, old furniture, rusty roofs, stained bathtubs, etc. The buffet restaurant is horrible. It has serious ventilation and hygiene problems and when you go in, the smell resembles rotten food. However, the best thing about this hotel, in my opinion, are the specialty restaurants. The food is excellent, nice atmosphere, no need to make reservations before hand, which can be daunting in other hotels that I have stayed in. The location of the hotel is nice because it is right across the street for the marina, so you have a nice place to stroll in the evenings and there are restaurants there too, but of course those are not included in the hotel amenities.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Fantastic Time

Stayed here Between May 28 - June 4th, Great Time.... Rooms are very Clean i stayed in 24... staff very friendly ...never a complaint, the food right now is not the best but you are not going to Cuba for the food. Beach and the Ocean amazing!!!

Where to begin? Let's start with the positive! Most of the staff are exceptional and truly care about you and your stay, most of them go out of their way to make sure you have a good vacation! The pool is nice and is usually very clean and clear, the beach is absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, the drinks are good, and the location is fantastic, now for the negative, I have mobility issues and use a cane to walk, I was put on the 2nd floor which required me  [... read more]to walk up 4 flights of stairs to my room, the ne t day after waiting 2+hours after we were told to come to the front desk to switch rooms we were given a room on the first floor, the next day our toilet wouldn't flush, I told the front desk at 8:30am ,it wasn't fixed until 4:00pm and then broke again after 1 flush, the maid fixed it temporarily after one of the staff yelled at me and said it was my fault because I flushed toilet paper down the toilet and I was to put the paper in the garbage from now on, I was livid, the maid heard and reassured me it was the toilet tank not filling up that was the problem, she fixed it and later brought the plumber to fix it properly, the next day I woke up to a bed full of bugs and my husband was covered from head to toe with bites,I showed the bell hop and he took bugs from the bed and my husband and showed the staff and they changed the sheets and handed us a can of raid and told us to spray the room and leave the room for a few hours, I can deal with the older decor as I knew this when booking and it didn't really bother me, I liked the Cuban charm of the hotel but this hotel could really benefit from a little TLC, a fresh coat of paint, including on the furniture, some gardening to liven up the grounds and camouflage the cracks and damage to the lower part of the building, some maintenance on the patio at the lobby bar is much needed, more umbrellas at the pool area, and the food, omg!!! It is horrible!! Now I have been too Cuba 4 times and I know full well that you do not go to Cuba for the food, but this food by far was beyond awful, even breakfast was bad, it was the same food almost every day for both lunch and supper, people walked into the buffet and walked right back out! It was that bad, we ate supper out almost every night at one of the local restaurants that were just up the street and had delicious food,the one too the left had seafood pasta and filet mignon, lobster and lots of seafood dishes and a big menu, the one to the right is called la Viscaria and has some seafood and lobster tail, and caters to alot of Cubans and has alot of Cuban dishes, both are good and reasonably priced,we saw many people from the resort at the restaurants eating, if ot wasn't for the big issue we would have considered going back because of the beach, location, and a few of the staff we became close with, there was also a flea market just up the road and apparently an outside bar with live bands that played some rock music which we planned on going to but didn't because my feet and ankles swelled horribly,probably from walking up 4 flights of stair for a day, and my hip and legs were extremely painful, again aggravated from the stair climbing.

Sol Palmeras: Amazing place!

We just loved the beach Rooms were nice and clean! Service was good! Food was also good Our favorite was the beach and the ocean Overall we had an amazing time and we will definitely go back and recommend this place to our friends and family!

Great resort, amazing people breathtaking beach. Close to Varadero, lots to see and do!! Food was a pleasant surprise. Clean rooms and towels daily. Treat the hard workers well and they will treat you well. Cant wait until I can return.

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing

We had an amazing trip to Ocean Vista Azul. It was our first time to Cuba and our expectations were blown away from service to food. The pool bar was a lot of fun, Yosi, Yeni! Mayrelia and Livia made great drinks. We will be returning in the future.

Starfish Jibacoa: A little gem of a resort.

The grounds are beautiful. Not a large resort. No long walks to beach, pool or buffets. Stayed in a bungalow beach front. Amazingly beautiful to wake up to view of beach just steps away. Snorkeling is fantastic right off the beach. Many areas for non snorkelers to enjoy sand bottom aqua sea water to relax in. Two pools without swim up bars. Pool bar on deck side. No bells and whistles at this hidden gem resort. Staff very polite and always pleasant. Great place to just sit and relax. Situate [... read more]d half way between Veredero and Habana. Cabs and buses are available if you would like to venture out. Both towns an hour away from resort. Cuban families enjoy vacationing here. They are all so nice. Food not so good but always something for meat eaters and vegetarians. Rooms out dated but clean. No fresh pool towels available all week. Many people return to this resort due to the beauty and peaceful environment. Average age was 50 and older. Not a party place for the young. Easy walking for elderly. Ramps everywhere to all builds and into some bungalows if stairs are a concern. Small step over into stand up shower with Handel to hold on to.

Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful resort

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Melia Marina Varadero. The staff were friendly, courteous, and professional. The hotel's location is great and a 4 minute walk to some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see. The grounds were well maintained. The room spacious and clean. The food and beverages were pleasantly delicious with lots of variety. A day trip to Havana is a must and only a 2 hour ride away. Great resort. Amazing Beach. Very relaxing. Went with my wife for 7 days ending June 1 2019. Looks like we hit a transitional week as the hotel was changing from Winter staff to Summer staff, hotel was only about a 1/3 full. Service was a bit slow and unorganized when we 1st arrived, but seemed to get better as the week progressed. Food for the most part was good, plenty of variety at the buffet. Beach snack bar was disappointing - only serving pizza, fries and hot dogs, hit and miss on bbq  [... read more]chicken. Due to the summer restrictions, not all the Al’Carte restaurants were open. We ate at the Japanese, Italian and French, Food was excellent and a welcome treat away from the buffet We also choose to upgrade for a “Special Beach Dinner, 4 courses, lots of food. Service and atmosphere was excellent. Rooms were large and had everything required, bed was super comfortable, but the room and fixtures were looking a bit tired. We come to Cuba for the beach. This resorts beach did not disappoint, soft sand warm water. Love to see a upgrade to the plastic lounge chairs. Weather was fantastic, overall a very relaxing trip

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Disappointing

So disappointed. I have stayed at several Occidentals, never have I been this disappointed. The front counter people were so rude upon our arrival, hallway to our room, it was so dirty, unsafe looking. In our room, you could see thru into the hallway around the door. Our toilet seat was broken, shortage of towels in our room. We went back to the front counter to report the toilet seat and to get a couple of more towels as there was 3 of us in the room. Sorry, no staff to give you towels to [... read more]night. Maintenance came to fix the toilet seat at 1:00 am. We asked about a snack bar and all they had was hotdogs/hamburgers and no drinks. Needless to say we called our Rep right away. And we moved to another resort the next day.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Resort & Staff

Everything was very nice at the resort. Very clean. Beautiful beach. The food was good. We had Diamond club which we felt was worth the extra money. The entertainment was very good here and special touches like Cuba day and diamond club reception with dinner where nice.

Club Tropical: Nice and peaceful resort

Vacationing to relax enjoy the beach the nice weather, we enjoyed all aspects of our needs in a friendly atmosphere clean and pleasant personnel. Close to all amenities restaurants, stores and attractions. This is our third time in the same hotel after trying few others which we disliked. We will surely go back again to the same hotel. Met few Canadians who also were regular vacationers in the same hotel. Thanks we had a great time.

Starfish Varadero: Great time in Varadero!

The hotel was very sweet, quite calm and not too packed. We never waited anywhere we went. The staff was really friendly, the drinks were good, the beach was astonishing. We originally booked a garden view room but upon arrival, the staff upgraded us to a bungalow for free, it was very big and nice and right beside the beach. Only good comments for the Starfish!
