Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful resort with great hospitality!

We had an amazing experience at this resort. The staff were more than helpful at all times. The rooms were expressly clean and modern. Cleaning staff was on point and always available. The beds were a tad bit hard but hey, you can't please everyone. The food was your typical resort food. Lots of choices and themed nights throughout the week . The only downfall was that the late night snack bar didn't stay open 24 hours as advertised. It was open until 2 am though. The bar staff was amazing! They [... read more] never under poured . (They weren't shy to make a stiff drink) bonus points there! The pools were great! And the guests were always happy. The entertainment team was always around and ensuring everyone was having a good time! The nightly shows were also great. The only downfall is that it would get extremely quiet after the shows. There wasn't much of a late night nightlife but, if you meet the right people you can make your own party. Overall, great experience and would recommend it to anyone!

Paradise Playa Dorada: Grand Paradise is truly a grand place to vacation

Trip central was very easy you use to get the best deal for your vacation with the price alert feature. I did the booking on line got our tickets online and just had to wait for the departure date to arrive. Yvette was very helpful in putting this together. Grand Paradise is our favourite in the Dinican because the rooms are clean, well maintained, the staff are all very pleasant, the food is good in taste and quantity. Riu Merengue: Beautiful Vacation

The rooms were very clean and kept clean throughout the stay. The weather was perfect. The beach was clean and beautiful. The red flag was up for the whole stay, but still enjoyed the waves hitting the beach. The bathroom in the rooms should be updated and a better/levelled bar fridge.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Fantastic Resort with the BEST staff & service

We went to the VHG on a recommendation from a friend and weren't disappointed. The resort is very well laid out and a perfect size. The beach was beautiful - clean (no sea weed) and not overly crowded. We had no problem getting a spot on the beach that met all our needs - sunshine and shade. Yes, there are vendors who are selling on the beach but if you say no thanks, they carry on and weren't aggressive or a problem in any way. VHG staff really take pride in their resort and providing the best customer experience. I wrote to the resort in advance of our vacation with a couple of requests and received a replay back immediately indicating they would do their best to accommodate all of our needs/request and they certainly did. The staff here work very hard to keep their resort immaculate with housekeeping staff cleaning all day and well into the night. I can't honestly say that I found a single member of their staff team lacking in any way - they were all very friendly and whenever you asked how they were, the response was always the same 'Excellente" followed by a huge smile. We have been to many resorts and VHG staff would be rated among the BEST. We would definitely recommend this resort

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great resort!

Goods: Newly renovated Lots of lush vegetation Buffet food was great. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Grand Bahia Principe San Juan

The hotel itself was very nice and the staff was amazing. The buffet food was even better than the A la carte restaurants. The location of the resort is too far from towns and cities. The beach is not that great and the wave breakers ruin the beautiful view even though I know that without them, there would be no beach at all. The rooms were clean and modern.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Casa Marina, Sousa wonderful resort

This was our second time there and we thoroughly enjoyed it. People are helpful and friendly and the resort was very clean. Food was excellent and it's nice that it's only 15 minutes from the airport. Will visit again and again, loved our time there.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Wonderful holiday

We stayed at the Riu Bachata from Oct 27th 2015 for q week. Beautiful room, beach and pool area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A LA carte restaurants were delicious, the buffet was good but a bit repetitive but you won't go hungry there is something for everyone. Only complaint was the vendetta who take over the lobby one day a week, yiu have to pass them to get into the buffet and they are relentless. There are sand fleas or midgies some people call then my husband is covered in bites I have none apparantly some people are allergic some are not I guess I am one of the lucky ones I have since read deet off or tea tree oil keep them away. Great vacation all in all. Oh and the nightly entertainment is pretty good too loved the Michael Jackson show.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Expected More.

Beautiful grounds and beach. The rooms were very small for a family of 4 and had very little storage for our things. Beds were hard and pillows were terrible. Loved the duvets tho :) we went without water 2 nights during our stay.. I got terribly sick one night.. But sure if it was good or water but it passed thank goodness and I made careful choices with food the rest of the trip. The food was decent.. Drinks were typical. It was also under renovations and the jack hammering by the pool 10 hours a day was a bit much.The people at the resort were amazing and the only thing that made this vacation really great. Always smiling and great service all around.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: need to improved

less than 3 * hotel,no electricity for 2 days,people on reception desk don't speak English,they Ruth,no helpful Bar close at 2 am,very poor entertainment,For money I payed I should get at least 4.5 star,sorry I don't recommended to no one to go to this resort

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Love the Paella on the beach

My second time at this resort and It was impressive- ocean view room. Food was excellent and I loved the seafood and steaks. Beach was not great- had lots of sea weed and turned my white bikini bottom green. Pool was very nice and of course we had friendly Canadians who left us their float and noodle. A very family oriental and older adult resort. Entertainment staff worked really hard and we enjoyed the shows. I was not happy with one staff in particular who I had given a token and she called my room explaining that her grandfather was not well and needed money- she called numerous times for four days consecutive which made me very uncomfortable that I do NOT want to go back to this hotel. The receptionist was friendly upon arrival but some wasn't as warm when departing. Overall, a great resort and good food and good service.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Mediocre resort

Would rate as 2-3 star. Room moody and damp, needs updating most a la carte not available , food is okay as are pools. Restaurants needs updating . Service is average at best. Would not recommend this resort.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Nice relaxing vacation at Be Live Grand Marien

The resort was exceptionally clean and well kept. The staff was always attentive and friendly, from the front desk, right down to the gentlemen raking leaves. Anything we needed help with was dealt with right away. A little note in the room regarding HOW to turn the shower on would have been helpful! (pull down on the little spout thing where the water comes out of the tap!) The resort is a bit "tired" and could use an update, but we were very happy with everything. Buildings 3 and 4 are the primo location buildings. The bus ride to and from the airport was well organized and only about 20 minutes. The only annoying thing was the Vacation Sales guys outside the buffet restaurant who bugged us every time we came and went. A firm NO though, and they stopped (after the 3rd day) There were also a few excursion sales people on the beach, but they stopped bugging us after a firm "no thank you as well".

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Nice resort

Food was good. I little hilly. Not a very nice beach. Were not allowed to visit VIP bars/restaurants. Golf course was lousy. We went in October, it was very quiet. Large resort with frequent bus to take you around.

Paradise Playa Dorada: great time

the food is very good great selection the grounds are very clean pool cleaned every day rooms are clean and nice the bars are the best happy friendly ppl the beach is very nice long walk from end to end but lots to see shows where great too always something for everyone

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Our favourite resort in Puerto Plata!

As usual, we had a great time! The staff are always friendly and helpful, especially Joseph (waiter) and our housekeeping lady for room 5119. Also a high five to Francisco at reception. I think of the Iberostar as my second home and would go again in a heart beat!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Be Live Collection Marien

I enjoyed staying there, these people are friendly except the sellers are annoyed that I didn't like. We need time to look at the tables but these sellers are pushy. The service did well with us, when we arrived at the hotel and they put us to third floor but the service guy checked and said no no you both should stay the first floor, that what I like. Love swimming there. Nice bars too. Food are some good some ok. Good experiences.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: never a disappointment

The hotel & grounds are amazing. Since I first stayed there 5yrs ago I noticed improvements each year. Rooms are clean, comfortable, air conditioning works great & they have fridges in each room. The grounds are always kept clean & the pools are clean & refreshing. The 3 outdoor whirltubs are amazing, right on the coral cliffs over looking the ocean. What a great view. public area's of the hotel were fantastic. grounds were kept very nice. all common use areas were great. however the hotel rooms them selves need an update. they are really starting to fall apart. no hot water a huge problem. front desk staff not as nice as the rest of the staff. really lack of hot water the biggest problem.
